The main ranch house, well over 100 years old, is home to the Newell family and Newell Cattle. It is winter pasture and spring calving grounds for the cattle. The home site was originally settled by Bartolome Trujillo in the 1734. Pottery shards found in the pastures indicate that this site was a Native American settlement.

The inside is dark adobe with gold straw, with flagstone floors, and rustic Sycamore Oak beams. 3 kivas fireplaces too! Quiet artist home with private patio, views of Taos mountain, and heated by wood-burning fireplace. Spacious. Comfortable king bed, full bath, washer/dryer, and stove. Large tv with sectional couch. Brand new appliances. Incredible 360 views, 4 miles to trailhead overlooking cliffs of the Rio Grande. There’s lots of light and spaciousness for the summer and will feel like a cozy cabin in the winter time with a wood burning fireplace (heater is also included for ease of enjoyment).

El Studio is a 300+ square foot studio in an exquisitely converted adobe outbuilding. It shares a scenic 10-acre property with the main house (Casa Tocaya) and the guest house (La Biblioteca). Surrounded by a stone wall for privacy, it's close enough to the main house to serve as an extra bedroom and far enough away across the driveway that no one feels crowded.
