Family-friendly vacation rentals in Preston County

We stayed here for our 26th anniversary and it was perfect! It is an amazing cabin with incredible views. I highly recommend this cabin. The one piece of advice is because cell service is spotty don't trust your gps. Follow the instructions and look for the name of the cabin on the sign.

Beautiful place! Went on a girls trip and it fit exactly what we needed, cozy, nice views and relaxing. Only things I feel the need to make people aware of are that the hot tub is off the side of the house and you have to walk over gravel to get to it so bring flip flops, and that there are a TON of bugs in the house, we had ladybugs and stink bugs all over, fine for us but if it’s not something you can handle then bring traps. Overall amazing trip!

Almost Heaven! Perfect home, perfect location for a family get-together. Bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and all needs will be met. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. Just bring food! The lake is crystal clear and beautiful, and tall trees cover the landscape. The deer, chipmunks, squirrels and birds are right outside the door. The firepit was our evening spot to gather and chat. And toast marshmallows. And even though the kids are in their 40's, they made s'mores! This is a place to revive your soul. I could stay here forever.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful, very clean and cozy and felt right at home. There were tons of amenities provided. Absolutely gorgeous scenery, very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the regular world. Our host went above and beyond, and was incredibly helpful. We had a snowstorm during our stay. She was incredibly helpful with making sure we were safe, had everything we needed, and assisted with getting our car out from getting stuck. The locals in the surrounding area were also very kind with assisting in their efforts. She was readily available and ensured that our stay was spectacular, I would absolutely stay again and have her as a host. We are incredibly grateful for all the efforts she did, our weekend was exactly the getaway we needed and her help was irreplaceable. We look forward to next time!

Our family of 4 had an amazing time at Whispering Pines. Peaceful, quiet, and relaxing all describe the location perfectly. Able to recharge! Laura was very responsive and helpful. Fishing, chickens, horses….kids loved it. Great fire pit in the backyard. Inside was comfortable and cozy with large rooms, comfortable beds and couches. We loved the entire trip and will be back!

If you want seclusion, this is the place for you. Very quiet, seen deer in the back yard two days in a row. The master bed is extremely comfortable. Does have stone driveway, and if you want any groceries stop on the way. Wifi worked great. Overall great place to stay!

Absolutely beautiful stay!! Laura was an amazing host and offered us to get some fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning and feed the horses. Our 2 little kids had a blast! Having a hot tub and a fire pit was amazing!! 😍

What a spectacular property. The views are unmatched! I especially loved the private suite and living space downstairs! Lots of deer and other wildlife, that was a lot of fun! Thank you so much for sharing this special location!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS! Absolutely incredible property! Completely private, the absolute most private property we've ever been to! We had such a wonderful experience ☺️ We started our mornings hiking at Ohiopyle State Park and Cooper's Rock State Forest with the joy to come home to a wonderful property! The fire pit, walkable land and disc golf made for an excellent time to wind down. We are nature junkies and this place cannot get any better! Our pups were able to run freely and have literally the best time of their lives! The birds chirping and cows mooing made our experience even better. We strive to own a place like this in the future! Cannot wait to return next time we're in the area! Just a side note, currently there is no microwave, plan accordingly ☺️

We enjoyed our stay! The house was as described - cozy, clean, and peaceful! We tried to get an earlier check-in but this was not possible because the house cleaner came right before our arrival. It is in a wooded area so naturally there are a few bugs around (but we could tell it had been cleaned well!). One of the screens on the front door had a hole so a few mosquitos came in. The guest binder was helpful to find restaurants in the area. Rebecca was very quick to respond and I appreciate her reaching out to check in during the visit! The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have laundry on site!

we had an action packed week and Rebecca's place was a serene, comfortable place to come back to each evening. When all three teenagers tell you the beds were "the best" you know you've got a hit. Trillium Acres is well supplied with quality furnishings and special little touches that made us feel wanted and welcomed. I would recommend Rebecca's Trillium Acres to anyone traveling to this area of WV.

This was an absolute gem of a property! A well kept cozy farm house with picturesque views all around. A lovely welcome basket of treats was provided upon arrival! Incredibly priced for the size of the home as well as being very clean. Our favorite feature of the house was the wood burning fireplace- ending the evening around the fire was a perfect way to close out each day! 10/10 property.

The decor is a wonderful blend of old and new. Everything was well thought out. The view was gorgeous. We would highly recommend for a restful getaway.

This guesthouse is the cutest little spot you could ever ask for. Super comfortable, clean, and with all the amenities you might need for an extended stay. I’ve been using it as a home base for a travel nurse contract, and it has been so perfect.

We were lucky to find such a great place just a short drive to WVU. Being able to sit by fire instead of in a hotel after busy days was priceless. My family and I felt like the old times in upstate NY cottages we have been in the past. The place was extremely clean, large enough to visit both inside and out and the sunset over the lake was a pleasant surprise. Our hosts were informative and very responsive! We definitely used the kitchen and grill for several meals and found everything we needed. I would highly recommend it. Kayak rentals and restaurant/bar with music were walkable right down the path. Beds were comfy and the shower accommodated our ADA needs by being walk in. I cannot say enough great things about our accommodations and hosts! We are already discussing our next trip back.

sweet spot ! for all the hikers out there , this location is only an hour from Hoye Crest - the summit of Maryland. 2mins from here is PC pizza. when you order the cinnamon sticks you receive a hefty portion. Trellis provided a great location to stay.
