Discover the awe-inspiring desert from this modern, private oasis. Homestead Modern No. 1 is ideal for romantic retreats, solo getaways, or overnights after a show at Pappy & Harriet’s. Highlights include: ★ 2.5 acres with spectacular views of desert buttes ★ 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house + 1/1 casita ★ Local, organic shower products from The Body Deli ★ Cozy hot tub + refreshing cowboy tub ★ Built-in BBQ ★ Propane fire pit, horseshoes, and 4 hammock circle ★ 10-minute walk from Pappy & Harriet’s ★ Professionally hosted by Homestead Modern™ *** COVID-19 Cleaning Protocols *** As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. Our cleaning fees are generally higher than the market average because we pay above the living wage standards and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. This has always included disinfecting all “wet” surfaces (sinks, showers, toilets), replacing all linens and towels, and cleaning all dishes. We now require our cleaning staff to wear gloves in these areas for their protection. In addition, we block our properties for a full day between guests to allow the time for them to air out prior to our cleaners entering. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit.
“Great place for getaways in the desert, I would highly recommend to anyone! The place was very clean and well organized, Dave the host was always there to respond to you. Amazing location and very close to Joshua tree national park. Best part was the hot tub and the view of the desert! Definitely will be back thank you !”

“The Sweet Spot is a gem in the Mojave desert. It’s a close drive to the Joshua Tree national park, and very close to stores, shops, bars, etc., while still feeling like you have your own space in the desert. Check in was a breeze, and although it rained and flooded the day we arrived, Brad made himself available for all of our initial questions. The space was beautifully decorated and very open! Great amenities if you want to stay in and cook after a long day at the park. No issues with noise pollution either, as it still felt quiet and isolated at night. The natural light throughout the space was perfect and outside we saw many jackrabbits (so if you’re a nature lover, this place is perfect). When we come back to Joshua tree, we will definitely come back to the Sweet Spot!”
The Ranch is only one mile past Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriet's, but still very, very private. You’ll love our tiny cabin because of the starry nights and desert vistas, with unlimited hiking on open land. You can even choose to sleep outside! Our place is best for couples and solo adventurers. The bathroom is private, eighty steps from the cabin (see pictures). You may hear our well go on when the horses, donkeys and goats are drinking. Enjoy your stay!
“Excellent location! Really lucked out snagging this place the night before a last minute trek to Joshua Tree National Park! We were torn between a cheap inn or this affordable BnB and we definitely made the right decision! Quiet and quaint...reminded me of a rustic, western tiny home :) Has everything we needed for a short stay (including flashlights to help us navigate to the bathroom at night!) The stargazing was the highlight of the stay, absolutely amazing clarity! And even though it was July, the night was cool and crisp (but we still used the nice AC located next to the loft style bed haha). Anitra and John were prompt and quick to answer any questions we had. Directions were thorough and easy to understand. One of the reasons I hesitate to book Airbnb’s so last minute is because I like to have a flexible, spontaneous schedule to allow myself time to explore and visit sites without a scheduled hard time for check ins looming over my head; we had none of this anxiety or stress with Anitra! We planned for a 2pm show but ended up at the park first and stayed until 10pm watching the comet, arriving at Anitras around midnight—no issues or pressure! Basically self check-in with plenty of privacy. Will definitely stay again if ever in the area (and this rare find is available).”
