Vacation rentals in Monona County

My husband and I went for a quiet weekend getaway, and the place was beyond expectations, even on their off season. The lodge and grounds were lovely, luxurious and comfortable. Everything was easy. We knew in advance that we would need to bring picnic breakfast/lunch or drive 15 minutes into town, so we packed accordingly. Saturday dinner with Chef Chris was a delicious private dining experience, with every detail tended to. I can only imagine what the place is like during hunting season! So glad we found it. We’ll be back.

It was such a beautiful place. It was very spacious and lots of beds. Everything went so well. my family all enjoy their stay. Thank you so much for wonderful place. We'll be back again.

Such a peaceful, beautiful location. Bird watching, listening to nature at night. we couldnt have asked for more. Even the 2 -14 yr old boys enjoyed hiking in the hills, collecting rocks and fishing. We will definitely be back!

We couldn't be happier to have had an off the grid hang out. they were so sweet and went above and beyond during our stay. Loved the animals on the farm and the peace and quiet.

The cottage is a pristine, very comfortable place to stay. Instructions for local places to go and things to see are very clear and accurate. If Ann ever owns other AirBnB places,I would book with her in a heartbeat. Her attention to detail and pride in her property and care for her guests is unmatched in my experience.

Communication with the host was excellent—quick, clear, and super helpful throughout my stay. I grew up in the area and came back for a neighboring-town alumni reunion, so I didn’t need a lot of local activity recommendations. But Melanie was very friendly and open with her communication ahead of time. The check in was super simple, and so was the checkout. Soldier is a really small town and was very peaceful. The Loess Hills and surrounding farmland are beautiful. The house has been nicely redone and the furnishings were nice and new. I’d definitely stay again!
