Ocean View Retreat with Pool / Hot Tub

PatRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My family of four had a wonderful stay at L’s over the Christmas holidays. The location is perfect- great view and within easy walking distance to great restaurants and walking trails! The house is beautifully decorated and has a great open space for gathering in front of the fireplace. So cozy! We hope to return in the summer!

House in the woods

SavannahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

The Boathouse at Spruce Harbor

Janette Is pronounced as YanetteRating, 5 stars4 months ago
My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Large private area, close to Rockland

RachelRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We found the home clean and welcoming. There was plenty of room for all of us and we enjoyed the back deck very much. The kitchen was well equipped and although we did not do any cooking, if we had, everything was there for us. We really liked how private the home was. Had the weather been warmer we definitely would have checked out the pool. It is also very close to Thomaston, Rockland and Owls Head. So much to do in this area. We would recommend this home to anyone who wants a quiet retreat in Maine that is close to the coast.

This was the perfect location for our needs...our meeting place was just two miles away! The neighborhood was amazing, my grandchild LOVED walking to see the cows, and as a bonus, you can see the horses from the upstairs bedroom! The owners were very responsive and a pleasure to work with.

Great location. We had three guys stay there, and space can be tight. Fortunately we are good friends and knew what we were getting into. Would stay here again in the future.

Serene and secluded cottage

AmyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This lodging could not have been more perfect for me and my dog to spend the holidays. The space is immaculate, well-heated, and very comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware. The interior is bright during the day with tons of sunlight and extremely quiet at night. The house is set far from the roadway with a lovely field path to the river in the back. The wide-open field space felt very safe for my dog. The hosts are warm and kind folks, always available but also maintain privacy. I hope to stay here again, and I would highly recommend it to friends. Advice to future guests: I used my GPS every time I returned to the property because the driveway entrance sneaks up on you along a 60 MPH roadway. Good to use the turn signal early.

Lincolnville cottage in woods.

KarenRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Wendy's home is just as described (private, down a long dirt drive) and the photos are accurate. Your pets will love this location too. As a previous reviewer stated, this is a very loved, lived in home. We did not take our dogs this time, but will the next time. It was great to find a place close to our Maine family that accepts pets. The downstairs bed is queen, the upstairs is full. This plan worked perfectly for 3 adults. It was nice to have a downstairs 1/2 bath. The kitchen is nice and roomy, with a huge frig and stove/oven. We would stay here again and take our dogs.

Inner Harbor Retreat - Stonington

AmyRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Our family of 9, ranging in ages from 2-94 loved our visit here!! They house is open, comfortable, kitchen is well stocked with what is needed for a range of cooking. Big family style pots made serving up dinner for 9 a breeze. The layout provides tons of privacy and with 4 full baths, no issues with larger groups. Located on a picturesque cove with granite, spruce and marsh grass, this island is magical. Many hours exploring the waters edge. I agree with past renters that the walk from parking to the house was long and on an uneven surface that's not comfortable to traverse. My mother (94 y/o) thought she could manage. It's too uneven for a walker. We walked with someone on each side of her nearly carrying her, glad it wasn't raining. My mother loved the house and location. It's required to take all your trash and recycables about 15-20 minutes away. Check times and days open, we made that mistake. Also you'll need the transfer station pass which the property provides.

Maine-Coast Reunions & Retreats: Studio/Dock/Pets

AmandaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We stayed at Jonathan’s place for my bachelorette trip to Maine and it was absolutely perfect for a quiet ladies weekend with beautiful surroundings. The house had nearly everything we needed, and everything we weren’t able to bring or find at the house could easily be purchased at the nearby Fales Store that Jonathan recommended. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked and we had more than enough blankets, towels, etc. to accommodate 11 women. Jonathan’s place provided a halfway point between Portland and Acadia National Park where we spent part of our weekend in peak fall color. It’s also a short 30min drive from Camden Harbor where we chartered a sailboat before coming back to a cozy fire in the wood burning fireplace and a gas firepit in the backyard. The house had plenty of space for all of us to sleep and to socialize. Jonathan was very responsive at check-in and check-out. We felt so welcome - 10/10 would recommend, we had an incredible weekend!

Charming Historic Island Home

CarolRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Very responsive, helpful host. House is well-cared for. Bedrooms/beds are very comfortable; bedding was clean and also comfortable. Dining room holds 8 comfortably. Kitchen stove is remarkable, and the kitchen space easily accommodates two people cooking and another preparing drinks, helping, or just hanging out. Nice neighborhood and easy walk to downtown. Photos on listing are accurate. Highly recommend!

The House at Orr Cove

Sara LouiseRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in and are already planning our return trip! It’s not often that a place can be perfect for all ages. We travelled with small kids up to grandparents and everyone had a blast. The home was cozy and felt like a home away from home. We stayed for a week in early October and the forest/weather was perfect! Used both fireplaces + outside fire - lots of kindling and firewood. Trails were well marked and perfect for the family. The cove is gorgeous and so private. Lots of stars wildlife and beauty all around. Also the kitchen is so well stocked - even had a rolling pin for chicken pot pie! :) Very remote but lots of fun restaurants and markets not too far. The area and location are really what makes this place so very special. Love, love, love!

Small Farmhouse on Tidal Cove

CeliaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We loved our stay at Rachael's cozy home. We would wake to incredible sunlight steaming in the back of the house, lighting up the kitchen as you look out to the water and, as night fell, share a drink before the crackling wood burning stove. Even though there are clearly new renovations within the home, it has certainly retained all the charm of an old house. Thus, if old house character is what you seek, this is the place for you. The house is tucked amidst trees without another house in sight and just a short walk down the road takes you to the wonderful Shore Acres trailhead. There are numerous additional short hikes minutes by car, and if we weren't walking in the autumn woods, we were paddling out with the home's canoe. Ten minutes by car takes you into Stonington; just five minutes brings you to Deer Isle Village. Rachael was incredibly helpful and responsive if we had any questions. We will very much look forward to staying here again!

Friendship Coastal Cove Cottage

DonnaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Leigh Ann was the best host of anywhere we have ever stayed. And, we travel allot. It started with a FaceTime prior to the trip, based on our worry of where to park our RV if we traveled up in it. The house was perfect. Beautiful, clean and everything the description said. She gave us personalized ideas of things to do in the area. She even text to let us know there was the possibility of the Northern lights on the night we were able to see them. We arrived with a basket of Starbucks coffee and breakfast snacks in case we arrived too late to shop for the morning. I cannot express enough how this entire trip was perfect. Part of that perfection was this home & Leigh Ann being our available host. 5 across the board.
