Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Idaho County

I want to choose my words carefully because this was a wonderful experience off the beaten track. First and foremost, Maven’s Haven is a mycodestination (word abuse, but warranted) of commune and connectivity: mind, body and spirit to all things earthly. I realize this sounds hippyish but it isn’t. This is a retreat setup of individual rooms, adorable little rvs and sheep wagons circling the periphery of the property and gathering spaces within. There are resident denizens: very likable duck—Baeyard—who shares its pond with Koi fish; roosters that sing as roosters do to their hens as all roam freely; pigeons; and a couple of dogs. None are threats to the others. The main house, where I stayed, included several living, eating and working spaces, a communal kitchen abundantly stocked, and a library of books that focuses on the natural and herbal along with flights of fantasy. The mind does not get wasted here. I relaxed for 3 days and nights, hiking every morning into the hills, napping and reading every afternoon, and feasting each evening—for which the end of season garden offered so much bounty. This is a destination that is what you draw from it, not what it provides to you. I miss its quiet repose, the view and sound of the Salmon River in the foreground, the incessant rooster clatter, and Baeyard’s steady companionship. Loved our stay! This will be our new cabin rental from here on out. Had everything we needed and more. So much attention to detail. Will be back soon.

I enjoyed my stay at Michael's and Devon's place. A lot of care clearly went into the space, the instructions, the overall welcoming atmosphere. The fence was secure enough for my husky, and he really enjoyed being able to run around with the hosts' dog, and staring at the cows next door. The studio is a separate building within the same fenced acre the hosts live in, so you may see Michael and Devon around, but they are easygoing, helpful, non-intrusive, and great to chat with. This is a great cozy spot for a solo or couple to use as a home base for a fishing or rafting trip, or just to get away for a couple of days.

This is our second time staying. It’s very private and relaxing. If you need anything the host gets on top of it immediately. Love the fresh farm eggs they leave for you to enjoy. We are already planning our next stay.

We had a great time staying at this cabin! We went on an incredible hike and enjoyed resting on the lawn overlooking the river. The cabin itself was very comfortable and clean. If you bring dogs, do be aware that there are many dogs in the area off leash and wandering freely.

I have friends in Riggins and usually stay with them, so this was the first time I ever looked for lodging there. I would definitely recommend these cabins for someone looking for a place to stay in Riggins!

Wonderful stay at beautiful Riggins! The cabin was perfect for our family of four. Right on the Salmon River! Very walkable to downtown Riggins as well. We went white water rafting with a large group of family members, I would highly recommend doing this. We did spend an entire day at "home" and just hung out on the river, went fishing, and swimming. Kitchen was efficient and had a gas oven which was a plus. I would highly recommend staying here.

The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. Pam and Dale provided snacks for those staying at the cabins. The facility had everything you could ask for, cooking, cleaning and even had a pool table for entertainment. Also had a washer and dryer for those who needed to clean clothes.

We have stayed several times in different cabins there. Great stay each time.

We had a one night stay here and it was perfect! Very cozy, clean and the beds were so comfortable, with an amazing shower and those are all big wins in my book! We want to stay here again next time we need a getaway! One downside, we had 2 long bed pickups with sled decks and parking was very tight but that’s no fault of the property owner nor was it a deal breaker for the property, just something to keep in mind when booking 😊
