Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hatteras

This home perfectly suited our family for a special mothers day vacation. The spacious layout, especially having 3 bathrooms for each room and having all of the children’s items and activities made for a particularly delightful stay. We really loved the natural feel of the home, the personality of the space, and all of the wood and furniture was great . This home was very clean and well cared for. Love the location as well as we were able to use a golf cart to go to town and walk easily to the beach! Our host was very informative and helpful. Can’t wait to return!

We had a great three night stay, my three adult children and I. The beach was surprisingly almost ours to ourselves. For an older traditional OBX house, it was well updated and very well appointed. The central floor plan is very open. I love it when you can be in the kitchen cooking while talking to everybody in the living area and those around the dinner table at the same time. Awesome view of the ocean off the back deck. We sat in the hot tub and still see the ocean. Im sometimes leary of hot tubs at the beach, a lot of times they are not well maintained. Danielle's was spotless and the water chemistry was perfect and safe. There was absolutely nothing we needed or any place where we needed to go that was not within a 5-minute drive. All of my family are fisherman. if you like to fish, there's not a better place to stay. getting from the house to the beach to surf fish takes less than a minute. we walked up to the OBX Pier several times to fish, probably less than a 5 minute walk.

This place has it all! Nicely placed so it’s a quick 3-5 min walk to the downtown area and a quick 5 min walk to the beach. The pool and hot tub are clean and well maintained. Absolutely no worries about cleanliness. The house itself has so much and is an oasis to hang at away from the beach. We had two perfect beach days and one rainy day. Usually we’d go stir crazy on a rainy day and hunt for something to do, but the pool, hot tub and house kept us entertained. Only regret is we didn’t book a longer stay, but next time we will! From the time we booked the place it was stellar communication! Shane was responsive to our questions and extremely accomodating throughout the experience. Ideal location for us and when not out and about we loved relaxing out on both the front and back porch and evening in the back yard with the fire pit. Close to attractions /shopping/dining/ AND steps from the beach! We had plenty of adults to one busy toddler but with this a note there are two sets of stairs to block to keep little eyes off of this evidently 'key attraction' vs the toys we had with us! Highly recommend.

This was a perfect place for a large family to stay. The location is perfect as it's walkable to private beach where there is hardly any crowd. There are various restaurants within a mile of this location and everything was available for a great time.

We had the best time here, its exactly like the pictures and the host goes above and beyond with recommendations/ items provided and cleanliness!

Lisa was very accommodating during our stay and was able to get the pool open for us to use!! Thanks so much, the house is very large and there is plenty of space to spread out.

Had a great stay at Maria and Steve's! Place was clean and as listed. Only tricky part was the house is across the highway from the beach access which meant having to drive and find parking or cross a very busy road.

Beautiful house. Great sleeping areas. Kitchen and Dining room were roomy.

Nicely located between a easily walkable beach area and their peaceful neighborhood. Enjoyed the quiet location with the comforts home.

Even with all the rain during our beach week, we had a great time at this dog-friendly cottage. The screened-in porches made catching up with family outside bug free. Nice pool, corn hole and hammock were nice to have as well. Short walk down quiet unpaved street to beautiful beach. So many restaurants & activities nearby!

Great house with a huge fenced in backyard. Close to the beaches and nature preserve. Amanda was great.

The beach house was the perfect retreat for us. Everything we needed to feel right at home was provided including a well stocked kitchen. The cast iron skillet was great for cooking up the fresh fish we enjoyed each evening. Our pups liked playing in the fenced in yard. Some of our favorite things about the “cute as a button” bungalow…..cast iron skillet, outdoor shower, extremely comfortable sectional sofa, screened in porch and convenient location. Thank you for sharing your beach house.

The cozy home was on a quite street and an easy walk to the beach. The house was clean and easy to access. Grocery stores were near by as well as other types of shopping and restaurants. The host was very easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. I would definitely stay here again.

We decided to stay an extra day in OBX and needed a place on short notice for only an evening. Debra’s place was an absolute gem of a find! Cozy, comfortable, and fresh cookies on arrival! We were traveling with two dogs and an infant, so stress was already high, and we had turned down some other dog friendly places because they were not clean. Not so here!! You would never know the space is dog friendly, and we appreciated that SO MUCH. It is nice to be able to relax without someone else’s dog’s hair on you!! Let me reiterate: CLEAN. We have high standards, and it was such a relief. The kitchen was well stocked, and all of the appliances, dishes, and utensils were clean and in great shape. The beds were very comfortable, and the patio was a nice place to unwind after such a full week. We were lucky enough to run into Debra and PJ, and they are knowledgeable about the area, funny, and awesome to talk to. I highly recommend Debra’s place, and we look forward to coming back.

Grouper Therapy is conveniently located - walkable to beach, sound, restaurants/stores in Duck, and neighborhood pool. The house had a floor plan with 3 King bedrooms + 1 more that worked perfectly for our family. The kitchen was well appointed - provides everything you need if you want to cook in. We appreciated all the extras provided - high chair, beach chairs, carts, tv in every bedroom. Our family really enjoyed our week in Duck.

What a fun adventure staying on a houseboat - nothing like being gently rocked to sleep! Gia shared a lot of information about the area and was very clear on everything specific for the boat. We took the kayaks out and made it all the way to the downtown Manteo waterfront, where we paddled around the historic Elisabeth II ship! Darrell's is a great restaurant within walking distance for breakfast!! The pool was a bit cold, but we did enjoy playing pool in the clubhouse.

Last minute trip planned. There were 12 of us and this house was a great size with plenty of space where we did not feel like we were on top of each other. 4 teenagers the area was perfect. They were able to go on their own and explore Corolla, walking and biking. We look forward to visiting Outer Banks again.

This place was amazing! Spacious, comfortable beds, beautiful location, grocery store, shops and restaurants nearby. The layout of the house was perfect for my adult children and their families to have privacy but allowed us to spend quality time together. There are plenty of games and puzzles for all age groups. Definitely want to go back next year!

Great location, perfect walk to the beach, almost like oceanfront. Great hang out space and kitchen. Lots of extra blankets, fan for the white noise people. Great outdoor shower and basketball hoop. Walk to the beach was quick and not too challenging. Clean pool and hot tub!!! Would definitely come back!!!

We had such a wonderful few days at the Mermaid Lagoon. The house was absolutely beautiful and very clean. We felt right at home. We will definitely come back.

Several areas on property to gather and dine, but also many areas to read quietly away from the group Plentiful kitchen supplies, very well outfitted with silverware and dinnerware Jorge answered all our questions quickly and accurately We hope to return to this area and will plan to stay again

Great place. For its size and value, it literally has a ton of great features . The theatre room is amazing, especially with having kids. Has a beach volleyball court! The arcade has thousands of games and brought me back 25 years (Pac-Man, Mario, Galaga, Street Fighter, and 1,000’s more). We went when it typically would not be considered swimming weather, however, we had the option to have the pool heated at least a day or so before arriving and it made a huge difference and allowed for my girls and I to swim in early April (and I did jump in the ocean to compare and it was a 25-30 degree difference! Lol). The owner is very quick to respond, has the instructions available prior to arrival, recommendations for food, churches, , and activities. If you don’t mind a 3-5 minute stroll to the beach, it is honestly not that far away. Walmart, Target, Grocery stores, putt putt, dunes, Wings, fishing pier, are very close by. The aquarium was a 20 min drive but was worth it. Fun experience.
