It's not about the destination, it's about the journey. Built in 1942, the apartment has a fresh new look and is dedicated to the Mother Road, Route 66. You'll find nostalgic pieces and even the original route 66 series for your viewing pleasure. The place is ideal for those visiting St. Louis as it is close to major attractions. The one bedroom apartment with living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom, and sunroom is 850 ft.². Close to the popular S Grand area. New, Clean, Comfy, Affordable!

The space
Although Chippewa place is located on a busy street newer windows make it very soundproof inside. The space is decorated tastefully mostly with furnishings from the 20th century. We also incorporate a number of nostalgic pieces with our theme route 66 in mind. We continue to work on our special Route 66 exhibit on our sun porch and will be adding more pieces as they become available to us. I myself am a budget minded traveler who would rather spend my money on nice meals than lodging so the place is not only nice its priced right. The building houses three long-term happy tenants in separate apartments who love the location because it's so close to the popular South Grand area and shopping further down Chippewa on Route 66.

Guest access
The entire space is yours. Although there is only one large bedroom with a queen size bed we can provide extra bedding for the couch and a single roll away bed for extra guests. Guest bringing more guests than indicated on their reservation will be asked to leave and any money paid will be forfeited. If you don't know how many guests you're bringing at the time of your booking please message your host before your arrival.

Other things to note
Parking is free on the street. Always make sure to remove items from your car to remove the temptation of break-ins especially in metropolitan areas. The neighborhood is safe but for guests security a cameras had been added to the front of the building but does not record video.

Neighborhood highlights

The location is perfect, just 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis and the popular Soulard neighborhood. Its also just blocks away from other popular areas like South Grand and historic Route 66. Head west on Route 66 and you'll also find numerous shopping opportunities and the famous Ted Drews custard stand. The neighborhood is very safe. I use a service called SpotCrime to monitor what's going on in the St. Louis area. See the St. Louis crime map in my photos. Seems that criminals target our better neighborhoods here and downtown.

My work: www.airbnb.com/r/gelder
Lives in St. Louis, Missouri
Airbnb Superhost Ambassador - My hosting journey started back in 2016 after losing my corporate sales position when the company I was working for failed. I owned a two family flat in Saint Louis and was using one of the apartment’s s as my office. I turned to Airbnb to keep some income coming in during my transition and made that office apartment my first Airbnb. Now several years later I’m a host with six units. Airbnb noticed my success as a host in 2021 after maintaining Superhost status at all times during my hosting career. I was invited by Airbnb to work as a non employee to mentor new host as part of the “Ask a Superhost” program. Over the years Airbnb has blossomed with billions of reservations, millions of host, and currently 200 host like me in North America working as Ambassadors. Feel free to share my Airbnb address with family and friends who may be interested in hosting on Airbnb. They can connect with me here at the URL below and then clicking the Ask a Superhost button and sending me a hello. www.airbnb.com/r/gelder So far I’ve helped thousands across the world decide whether hosting is a good fit for them. I’m looking forward to hosting you in one of my places in Saint Louis as well.
