Welcome to the Cookie Cottage—a charming 2-bedroom getaway in the peaceful town of La Moille, IL (pop. 700 people). This vintage-inspired home has been lovingly updated with all-new beds, bedding, and linens… as well as a 43” Smart TV, fast WiFi, Echo Dot, Ring camera, and a smart thermostat. Perfect for relaxing or exploring nearby towns with great dining and entertainment just a short drive away. A cozy, quiet, comfy escape from the busy world. Our guests rock! No cats allowed, DOGS ONLY.

The space
This home has a beautiful deck (in the process of being painted) out back and a bench with a landscaped rock garden in front. If you get lucky you will catch a hummingbird flying by. Inside the home, you will find a clean, cozy, and inviting space with vintage toys, puzzles, games, crayons, painting rocks, and some books as well. This home is welcomed to trained dogs (no cats), if you can ensure they will be clean and not destructive of the home. Beds available - One queen in the main bedroom, twin trundle bed (two twins) in the second bedroom. There is also a pull out couch in dining room, a couch in the living room and an air mattress in the closet for you, as well. Shower - tub combo in the main bathroom and a second standalone shower down in the basement, through the door in the kitchen and down the stairs. NO CATS - dogs only. This home is TRUE to its photos. It has carpet, knicknacks, photos. and tells a story of family and love. If you are looking for a brand new home, with brand new amenities, and a full remodel, this is not the booking for you. Also if it were, it would be about $200 a night, not $75. When you stay at the cottage, you feel at home like you’re back at grandmas house. Please keep that in mind when booking our space. This place is very special to us and when people book it and then complain about its charm, it’s heartbreaking. We want you to love it for its cozy, comfortable energy just as much as we do.

Guest access
You can access the entire home, yard and back deck, please avoid the garage storage and tools area.

Please message us when you arrive (or shortly before) and we will send you your door code to access the home. The door code will be sent via AirBnB and you will enter the code to unlock the front door.

*GARAGE IS NOT SHARED SPACE - PLEASE DO NOT USE IT - THE DOOR STAYS LOCKED*

Other things to note
We added a second Smart Tv to the 2nd bedroom with the trundle beds. Netflix is signed in on both TV’s and you’re welcome to use it.

When showering upstairs in the newly added shower - make 100% sure that the curtain stays INSIDE the bath tub to prevent water damage.

After several unfortunate incidents we have a new dog rule. If your dog damages property, or piles of dog mess are left on the property, we will send an invoice for a minimum of $200 to clean it properly. Please do not ruin a good thing for other people. We like allowing dogs in our home. Please just clean up after them and respect our space.

La Moille is a quiet little town that will offer you so much peace and calm if you're seeking it. There is a park a few blocks away, country roads to walk or drive, beautiful sunsets and more. If you want local entertainment head up to Brutes for a drink, or the Library for a book... and Fast Stop has most necessities and some pretty good cookies while you're there! If you're looking for more, head to Mendota to go golfing and then eat dinner... or go walk the trails at Starved Rock in Utica or Hennepin State Park Canal in Sheffield… and then get some Rips Chicken on the way home in Ladd!
