“Staying at Teeya's house was a breeze. She is a gracious, personable, and professional hostess that went beyond expectation --- West Virginia hospitality! Check-in and all communication was simple, straightforward, and prompt. The accommodation itself was spacious and comfortable, with everything I needed for a 10-day trip. The kitchen is well-stocked so that I didn't have to go out and purchase large portions of every little item desired for cooking (spices, mayo, etc.). The home was an excellent home base for exploring the area as desired. I loved my time here. (Thanks so much, Teeya!).”
The River Cabin is a rustic log home, completely private and dating from the 1930s. The property includes hundreds of yards of frontage on the Greenbrier River as well as 140+ acres of woods, wildlife and natural beauty. The cabin itself has been updat]ed for a bath and kitchen. The big screened porch overlooking the Greenbrier River is beautiful any time of the year. Once you check in, you'll have the place all to yourself until it's time to leave.
“Like other reviewers have mentioned, the presence of the river cabin is even more special in person compared to looking at the photographs. We loved the location-a short 20 minute scenic drive to anywhere we wanted to go and there is A LOT to do. Even in the middle of a pandemic we were able to stay busy at Bluestone State Park, Pipestem, and Sandstone and took a canoe trip down the Greenbrier river. Perfect place to go to safely be entertained and maintain social distancing. The cabin itself is cozy, the best feature of course, being the front porch. The kitchen is also a full kitchen, and we were able to cook all our meals at the cabin instead of going out. Once again very useful when restaurants aren't fully open still. All in all, comfortable stay, great place to unplug and close to state parks, hikes and rivers. For those wondering about cell service, I have Verizon and had uninterrupted service my entire time in the region. We would definitely return to the River Cabin for another stay!”
My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids) fully furnished with a double and a single bed.
“Hinton is a very quiet place, and I enjoyed it very much. Our time there occurred during the pandemic, so there wasn't a great deal to do around town, but Rhonda's kitchen and front porch kept us occupied on our stay. Rhonda is a very communicative host and although I did not need her help with anything at all, I did feel that she would be there for us if anything came up. Thank you!”
