Cottage vacation rentals in Fairfield

Tech savvy home. All the right plugs for our electronics. Heated bathroom floor a plus during cold weather. Upstairs bedroom had hanging space and dresser, but neither available in lower bedroom. Did have luggage rack in lower bedroom. Definitely a do again for me!

cannot recommend this cottage enough. aside from the fact that it's a hop, Skip and jump away from a beautiful swimmable lake, the property itself is gorgeous and perfect for dog people. we spent a night in the backyard with the fire, and another night inside stoking the indoor fireplace while we cook dinner and play board games. everything is as the host described, wylda is extremely proactive in her communication and pretty much read our minds in terms of what we would need and or want. she also decorated in the most beautiful way. it feels like a home, not some weird cookie cutter situation, it's clean and interesting and fun. I can't believe it's only an hour and a half away from Brooklyn.

We were looking for a last minute peaceful four day getaway and we found it here. We can’t stop talking about it. Although relatively close to everything we felt as if we were in the middle of a forest. The only sounds were the chirping of song birds and a woodpecker in the morning. Local restaurants are great and for us a trip to Yale University’s free museums and nearby antique shops rounded things out. The house is charming and Rio, our host , made sure we had everything. The few things we forgot from home were there! Wonderful experience all around.

Perfect for our weekend getaway. Very clean and relaxing and close walk to a cute little beach. We would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the cottage for 3 months and enjoyed our time very much. We were very happy from every perspective: The cottage had all the equipment we needed and wished for. We sometimes used the fireplace and loved the bed/couch. The cottage is perfect to rest and focus. We enjoyed to have so much nature around us. We took a walk in the close park with a lake almost every day. We liked to live at a small farm with dogs, chicken and goose. Debbie and Kirk were always there when we needed them and also made us internationals feel welcome. They explained and helped us proactively e.g. changed regional weather circumstances. We also regularly got eggs from the chicken what was always a nice surprise. Communication/ interactions were always easy and friendly. I recommended my work to plan future stays for assignments in this Airbnb. In our opinion it is better than a hotel: Very comfortable, cozy, close to nature and a special American experience. My husband and I had a great stay. James and Rose are super helpful hosts. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Walking distance to a lovely park they recommended with tons of hiking trails and very quiet.

I booked this cottage for my family quickly and only a day or two in advance, barely looking at the listing beyond location and sleeping arrangements. When we arrived, we were all pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and lovely this little home was. I have never encountered such a thoughtfully designed rental. I was recovering from a surgery, had two weary young children, and we were in town for an unexpected funeral. From the games to the beds to the toiletries, every aspect of this cottage soothes and welcomes. Our stay made a difficult time a little easier, and I am very appreciative to Lise for creating such a hospitable and lovely cottage and sharing it with others.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was a perfect size for our family and our son had a great time playing in the yard and the playground right next door. Our hosts were super responsive the couple of times we needed something. We'll definitely be back!

I was looking to get away for a few days and The Enchanted Cottage was just what I was looking for. The cottage was perfect for myself, had the most beautiful backyard, and was so quiet and peaceful. Bill responded to all of my questions very promptly and gave me a lot of information on walking trails around the house as well as getting around New Haven. I am very much looking forward to staying at the cottage in the future. It was the perfect getaway. Thank you.

This house is absolutely perfect. It's clean, charming, has everything you need. The beautiful back yard has plenty of space and good stuff for kids to play with. Also, it's about a 30 second walk to the beach... neighbors are out on their patch of beach but yours is yours to yourself. It's perfect. We cannot wait to come back.

A house on the water in beautiful Milford, CT, this was a great place to stay during Easter break. Clean, well stocked and cozy, I'd recommend this place for a lovely beachfront getaway.

Our stay at the Lake House Cabin was nothing short of magical! This charming 1940s cabin offered the perfect backdrop for celebrating my wife's birthday with our adult children. The stunning views of the lake were a highlight, providing a serene and picturesque setting that made our family gatherings truly special. We loved the easy access to kayaks and a canoe, which allowed us to explore the water and create lasting memories together. The cabin itself was cozy and well-appointed, making us feel right at home. We appreciated the blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with family and enjoy nature, I can't recommend this lake house highly enough. We left with full hearts and plans to return!

Peaceful, serene lake house. Loved sitting by the dock and people watching. Comfy, cozy rooms and inviting living room with a huge tv to enjoy movie night and hangout. Many different deck areas make the house more fun. Driveway has minimal space so need to be mindful of how many cars you are taking (fits 2 comfortably and 3 if the neighbor doesn't park too close to your driveway)

The proximity to the beach is unmatched. Additionally, a short drive or bike ride to Post Road provides an unlimited amount of food and culture to enjoy. The space is comfortable and clean with all you need for a short or long stay.

Our visit was utilitarian. We needed accommodations for us, our grown children and grandchildren and a dog. But the site of the cottage, its charm, its comfort made us wish we were staying another week. James' thoughtfulness went beyond any other Airbnb hosts' that we've experienced. Everything we might need if we were staying 10 days was there, clean, labeled. Thank you, James.

We spent Thanksgiving in the beautiful Joshua cottage. This was one of the best Airb&b stays we have ever had. The hosts were wonderful- making sure we had everything we needed. The spot directly on the water is magical.

Great clean easy to find and get into.

We had our previous Airbnb reservation cancelled at the last minute. I went on not expecting to find much on a holiday weekend, saw this Beach Cottage, and jumped on it. It has private beach access, & salt flat view in the front. The place was extremely clean and nice furnishings. There was everything you needed in the kitchen, which was nice as well. There was ample parking, close drive to town, and nice neighborhood. We will definately stay here when in town again.

Astrid’s home is special. It was hard to believe we were just 1 hr and 15 mins from our apt in Brooklyn. The views are magical and it is incredibly peaceful. On top of that- Astrid’s home is the perfect combination of design and comfort. The walls are filled with books of familiar titles, the kitchen has everything you need complete with lobster pots and linen lobster bids- it’s just a place you want to spend good time With good people. Perhaps most importantly- Astrid is THE BEST host. She is incredibly responsive. When we couldn’t find the mattress pad for the pack and play for our son she had one immediately sent. It was very clear that our stay was important to her.
