“The Red Cottage was perfect for our quick stay. The space is adorably decorated and has everything you need! Peaceful and serene. Great little patio to sit outside on. Love the landscaping! Lots of fluffy towels. Soft pillows on the comfy bed. Loved arriving and finding music playing for us! Plenty of bottled water and coffee! Loved all the coffee flavors to try! Even some cans of soup for quick back up meals if needed. House was easy to find and check in a breeze. Clearly we enjoyed the Cottage! We plan to return! Thanks for the great hospitality!”

“This place is great! Carl is very attentive, so willing to give tips and offer assistance, but completely gives you your privacy in the house itself and the yard area (this is on the back of their property). He responded very quickly to any messages. And he was super helpful. My friend's dog accidentally rolled in some mud just as we were about to pull out and he and his son immediately jumped in with the hose, dog shampoo, and a towel to help us out! Above and beyond! More description of the actual house: The covered (and therefore shady) deck was lovely with a portable hot tub and several comfy deck chairs, with space for more. The AC is very effective. The space is thoughtfully designed (for example, a full length mirror in a central location). There is more than enough kitchen stuff to cook your own food. The large bedroom has a bed that comfortably fits 2 and is private. It is right next to the well-equipped and designed bathroom. That hall leads to a large area with the kitchen, dining room table, entrance, and living room with a very comfy couch and armchair and a TV with streaming channels. There is a wooden partition and curtain that separates the last "room" from teh living room. It has 2 single beds, though those could easily be pushed together as they are on wheels. Both sleeping areas have their own air conditioning units to ensure a cool temperature in the summer.”
Tudie's Cabin is nested in the valley of Meredith Valley Farm. Next to the Watauga River, this peaceful getaway hosts guests on a 145 acre working farm of cattle, horses and wildlife.
“Such a beautiful, cozy, homey getaway! Nestled on a stunning farm, Tutsie's Cabin is as rich in history as it is in views. Staying for 3 nights was nowhere near enough considering all there is the explore on and off the farm. We spent our mornings having tea in the rocking chairs on the front porch, watching our puppy bounce and prance around on the endless fields. When I was out in the afternoons for work, my husband and pup were exploring the countless surrounding trails and Watauga river. The surprise visits from farm animals in the fenced in areas were a welcome company. There was an abundance of amenities that enhanced the experience: a fireplace, bucket candles, a comfy loft and more! Janet and Vera were the most excellent and accommodating hosts, promptly responding to our questions and requests with warmth and sincerity, and even checking in on us personally. The only negative thing about our stay at Tutsie's Cabin is that we had to leave.”
