It’s hard to put into words the true magic of this ranch, the land and the beautiful historic cottages. It’s one of those places that needs to be experienced to fully appreciate. But from the moment you arrive, you feel like you’ve been transported into a dream world. The cottages have been so lovingly restored, preserving their history while also not comprising on any modern luxuries. The bath house at Yoshi is absolutely divine. I spent hours reading in the cowboy tub to serene garden sounds. The ocean views from the deck and under the magnificent Monkey Pod tree are so heavenly - you have unobstructed views of the most stunning sunsets and whales and even Maui. And the stars!!! The stars at night are the brightest I’ve ever seen! Christie is spectacular and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. And the sweet little town of Hawi is just minutes away. This is by far one of my most favorite Airbnb experiences, and it will be the first of many visits! Book it, you’ll LOVE it!!

Michael’s special place in Hawi makes for a tranquil stay surrounded by tropical plants and song birds. Michael is an incredible host who embodies the true meaning of aloha with his generosity and sharing of knowledge of Hawaiian culture, botany and ornithology.

We spent four nights in the lovely cottage and our stay there was simply perfect! The cottage is very cosy, offered everything we needed and the entire premises with the hot steams and an own short trail is absolutely beautiful. If you sleep with open windows you will have the feeling of sleeping directly in the jungle and you can listen to the sounds of the nature. Good restaurants and supermarkets are also in close proximity. The location is good to discover the eastern part of Big Island and reach interesting places like Hilo, Volcano National Park or Mauna Kea. We enjoined our time in the cottage a lot and would rent it definitely a second time if we would come to Big Island again. Jacklynn was a great host and always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

If you prioritize peace and love to explore, this is the Airbnb for you. We have stayed in a wide variety of accommodations in Hawaii over the last 5 years and this is the place we will return to next year. We loved being able to use the pool each day with our young children. The critters and creatures on the property were so much fun to listen to and observe. The accommodations were neat and tidy and the location of the ranch allows to a variety of experiences that are only a short drive away. If you stay in Hawaii, be prepared to share your home with critters - ants are common as are house geckos and this airbnb was no exception. If you want a resort stay - this is not the accommodation for you. If you want old Hawaii, easy access to local produce, unique experiences and peace - this is the place for you.

We loved our stay at the cottage. A simple, historic-feeling, stress-free escape into a world far different from the normal daily grind. The chickens are wonderful (a few got quite familiar with us after a 10-day stay), the nightly frog symphony was very peaceful to us in its natural cadence, and the cottage was clean and easy feeling. The location was wonderful for jumping off into all sorts of big-island sight-seeing and activities. This was a trip I gave to my elderly mother and she could not have been happier. Ever since I first came here in 2017, I knew I’d return. Back then, it felt like discovering a secret. This time, it felt like coming home. There’s something about this place that feels like stepping into another world, a softer, quieter one where everything slows down and your soul finally catches up. It’s beautiful in that effortless way only Hawaii can pull off. Lush, vibrant, kissed by the sun and cradled by the ocean. It’s paradise, plain and simple. Everything here whispers, “rest”, and not just sleep, but the kind that stitches your spirit back together. I took the kind of nap where you wake up reborn. Cozy bed, birdsong, the rustle of palms; it was like floating in a dream. The best nap of my life. If you ever get the chance to visit, do it. Leave your phone, your stress, and your to-do list at the door. This place isn’t just somewhere you go. It’s something you feel. And that feeling stays with you long after you leave.

This location was an excellent base camp for our trip to Volcanoes National Park! We were able to get into the park early in the day, come back and eat/freshen up, and go back to the park in the evening! The area is very private and quiet—exactly what we were hoping for. Thanks for a great stay!

Everything was perfectly fine, we stayed a couple of nights during our honeymoon and enjoyed the Pineapple Express! Pretty house and surrounding. Albert gave us some recommendations for activities and food, which was very helpful!

Shannon is a really really good and responsive host. This place is an absolute gem! Its location is perfect, just 5 to 10 minutes from Volcano National Park, making it incredibly convenient for daily visits. There are also plenty of great local eateries and shops nearby. The home itself is cozy, serene, and peaceful, making it feel like a true retreat both day and night. The highlight was definitely the hot tub, an ideal spot to completely unwind and soak in the tranquility.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay here. Everything about our stay was PERFECT! The aesthetic, the surrounding, the atmosphere and vibe was outstanding! We only stayed for a night but waking up to the view of a rainforest was beautiful. The hot tub was amazing especially when used at night because the air was crisp and cold. Very relaxing and peaceful. 10/10 recommend to anyone who considers staying here. We will be back!

The tea house cottage is great! Super cute and cozy and a very convenient location to volcanoes national park. Very clean. The kitchen was well equipped which was nice since the dining options in volcano are limited. Shannon is a great host. Very helpful and responds promptly. If you’re worried about the noise of the frogs at night, I can only share from my personal experience, but they weren’t too noisy and we didn’t have trouble sleeping. We brought a white noise machine and ear plugs and we didn’t end up needing the ear plugs.

Our stay at this beautiful place was magical! Was better then described and even better then the photos. The lush surroundings, the beautiful sounds of the forest and the gorgeous cottage all made for a perfect stay. We loved the soaking tub and the breakfast. We will recommend this place to our friends and we will definitely be back!

Kelly’s place was perfect. Quiet, private and lots of covered outdoor spaces with lots of room. The home was clean and had everything we needed. She even had a nice notebook filled with things to know and do around the area. We enjoyed our daily walks to the ocean and met lots of people enjoying the area. I would recommend Kelly’s place for anyone who wants to enjoy all that the East side of the Big Island has to offer.

The place was conveniently located within walking distance of the HILO downtown district, where you will find local shops and good restaurants. There are also three supermarkets within 1.5 miles and a short drive to other national chains of stores. You are also near many attractions, including the beach, all within walking or short driving distance, with easy parking. The house offers private parking, which was nice. However, there are some stairs to climb as described in the listing, so it's not wheelchair or elderly-friendly if you carry a lot of heavy luggage. The house came with some basic cookware, and with a short distance to the supermarket and local farmers' market, you can save a lot of money not eating out if you choose to stay in and spend time with family. I would 100% stay there again or any property that Jason is listing. Great Host!

We loved Autumn's jungle cottages and would recommend her place. Great for small groups with separate accommodations. Beautiful outdoor gathering bbq area and every kind of plants. highly recommend

Beautiful spot in the jungle near the volcano. Super private, jungle hottub was definitely the star of the stay. Communication was great.

Quiet, cozy place to rest after going out. Make sure you take time to view the night sky whenever you wind down. The lava rocks and the background is a surreal experience. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom is clean. There are plenty of coals if you want to bbq. Bring your own water and food supplies. The only con I have is mosquitoes. Make sure you have mosquito repellents. Thankfully, the beds have curtains over them. Don’t be like me and forget to utilize that before sleeping unless you want to wake up with mosquitoes all over.

The space is beautiful, airy, open. Outside is filled with flowers along the walkway and plumeria outside the front door. Downtown Hilo is within quick driving distance. This is an extraordinary listing and I will definitely try to return!

Wonderful location, well furnished, beautiful setting, super convenient appliances and cooking utensils…overall fantastic experience at Matt’s place. we had our mtn bikes and were able to bike to the NP crater rim road, the town of volcano and dirt roads (escape trail) close by.

Great spot with easy walking to the downtown area! Jason was very responsive to my messages.
