Vacation Rentals in New Windsor

Just booked in New Windsor

Very private cottage located less than 2 blocks from Main Street. Walk to the train, DIA Beacon, and Main Street galleries and restaurants in minutes. entrance allows guests to come and go freely. Guests also have their own private patio area complete with Adirondack chairs.
Only a block and a half from Main Street and within easy walking distance to Metronorth, our cozy cottage makes for a perfect weekend retreat in fabulous Beacon, NY. The cottage is in our backyard, and while right in the middle of Beacon, is very private. The yard is fully fenced, and guests can come and go freely from a separate entrance. The cottage has a bathroom, kitchenette (with fridge, microwave, sink and toaster), double bed, and a twin size daybed. There is a TV/DVD but no internet access. We do not have cable, but have supplied the cottage with a nice collection of DVDs for guest use. The cottage is very light and airy, with lots of windows and a skylight. The space is best for a couple, or for a small family. It could fit 3 adults, but it would be a tight squeeze. Beacon is only an hour and a half drive north of New York City, and an easy 80 minute ride on Metronorth's Hudson Line. Beacon is a fabulous little town with excellent shopping, museums (DIA Beacon), great restaurants and coffee shops, and even our own music venues! There is also incredible hiking in the area, including Mount Beacon & Breakneck Ridge. We are also only 20 minutes from Storm King Arts Center. The train and DIA Beacon are only a 10 minute walk from our house, and Main Street is literally around the corner, making our cottage a perfect retreat for a car-less NYC getaway. For those with cars, there is ample on-street parking. The cottage is fully heated, and can be rented year-round. We do NOT currently have air conditioning, but there are two ceiling fans as well as a skylight, and lots of windows for those warmer summer days.
Walk to DIA, restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, Long Dock Park and the River Park..... It is all a stones throw from our home.
  • This stay was amazing. I have no complaints whatsoever. The cottage was so warm and cozy, not to mention well decorated.

  • This is a great spot to stay for a couple or single person. Very close to Main Street and lots of great shops and restaurants! About 15 minute walk to train station and Dia Beacon. Really cute place with modern heating, and small tv with DVD player. Host was very responsive!

  • My husband and I wanted to get away from the city with our 1-year-old son to somewhere not too far from Brooklyn. We loved staying at Rachel's perfect little cottage. I felt so much at peace walking there from the train station with the fresh air and beautiful scenery. It was good that there was still civilization nearby, with the town offering many restaurants and stores. The space was simple, clean, and airy. Rachel always responded to my emails right away. She lent us a crib, making traveling with a little one by train much easier. Rachel and her family were friendly in passing but not overbearing. It rained while we were there and they suggested we leave our stroller on their porch so it wouldn't get wet. Rachel suggested great restaurants when I asked where everyone was friendly and accommodating. I was a little disappointed that Storm King is hard to reach from Beacon by any public transportation, but that was due to my lack of researching and not Rachel's fault. I hope the cottage is available to us again in the future!

  • Wonderful stay in downtown Beacon! Walkable from train, to Dia: Beacon, and one block to restaurants & shops on Main Street. Even walkable to Mount Beacon trails if you're up for an extra mile or so! Comfortable cottage with all the necessities, renovated bathroom, and kitchenette. The residents of the main house were kind enough to give us plenty of privacy to enjoy the cottage & their nice backyard.

  • This was a fantastic place to stay! Right off the main drag with shops, delicious food and a lovely neighborhood. The cottage was marvelous in every way, cozy with a private entrance, a small yard and seating. I could not recommend this place more!

  • Had a great stay at Rachel's cottage! Rachel is great with communication; the location was super convenient near the train, Main St., and Dia; and despite the cottage being in the backyard, it had the feel of a private home. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone looking to spend a few nights escaping the city in Beacon.

  • Perfect weekend spot. Thanks, R :)

This lovely 1880s townhouse has incredible views of the Hudson River cradled by the Highlands hills. 75 minutes from Manhattan, it's a perfect place to breathe deep and take a break. You'll love the light and airy feel, Victorian details and spaciousness with a private bedroom overlooking the river, cozy living room, and bright dining room that opens to a kitchen and outdoor deck. Restaurants, art galleries and shops are close by. Great hiking, wine trails and more are a short drive away.
Your Riversong refuge has one private bedroom with a real queen bed (brand new comfy mattress), a living room with full-size comfortable futon, and an extra air mattress. The apartment features breathtaking views, beautiful natural light, an open-air back deck and use of the front porch, where you’ll likely be serenaded by a mocking bird and might even catch a glimpse of our bald eagle. 1880s hard wood floors and spacious closets complement the more contemporary comforts of cushy wool rugs, thick towels, fresh linens and a full kitchen stocked with the basics. This 2nd floor apartment is up one flight of interior stairs and there are also a few steps up to the 1st floor entryway.
Just 60 miles from NYC, Riversong sits on a neighborly, quiet street (except for freight train whistles!) in the Heights area. We're just blocks from a wide variety of urban and waterfront restaurants, art galleries and the historic Washington’s Headquarters. Within short driving distance are West Point, Storm King, wine trails, hiking in the Gunks (Mohonk/ Minnewaska/ Sam’s Point), the Hudson Highlands and Schunnemunk State Park, and for water lovers, kayaking on the river. Beacon is just across the Hudson, with the Culinary Institute of America and Hyde Park just beyond. Newburgh has great eateries, cafes and bars. I have a binder of restaurant, hiking and shopping recommendations for your perusal along with brochures and Hudson Valley magazines featuring current and perennial attractions. Please also note that Newburgh has a very mixed economy with good neighborhoods located right next to dicey areas, and generally poor road surfaces. Some guests have no problem with this, others do. I recommend guests do a bit of homework before deciding to stay in Newburgh. My apartment, amenities and immediate neighborhood are precisely as described in this listing.
  • The location for viewing sunsets and the Hudson River was marvelous. Kathy has taken the time to make the apartment feel like home. She provides items you might need if you decide to cook in. We would definitely stay again.

    Lynne2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming complete apartment with a back deck and an unobstructed bedroom view of the Hudson River. House is from 1880s (and restored nicely) and the apartment is on the second floor; pictures are accurate. Also has a front porch with plenty of seating. Slippers are provided for walking around the apartment and there is a handy spot for your shoes. Kathy is a wonderful host; if you ask, you can probably even get a song o two from her (she is a cabaret performer). There are two cats on premises though you may not see either of them and they don't go into the apartment at all. Easy to get to from NYC (I took the train). I had a very restful weekend in gorgeous surroundings. I'm looking forward to coming up again when the fall colors come out and to check out the nearby wineries.

  • we had a lovely christmas weekend at kathys place! beautiful view, interesting town and just a cozy place to spend a good time together. kathy was a very responsive, reliable and warm host.

    Valentin2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at the apartment. Kathy is a wonderful host. She made sure that I checked in properly even though I reached at her apartment at midnight. The apartment has scenic views as it's shown in the listing. The back porch of the apartment was the best place that I liked. The apartment was very neat and clean. It had all the basic things such as toiletries, towels etc. Kathy gave us total privacy during our stay. Kathy recommended us some places to eat and for hiking. We liked Cafe Macchiato and Los Portales restaurant. The neighborhood was safe and quite. It's a great place for couples and if they want a quick weekend getaway. I would definitely recommend to stay at Kathy's apartment if you are visiting around Newburgh.

    Parthrajsinh2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment overlooks the beautiful Hudson Valley and Kathy was an excellent host. The apartment was spotless and Kathy's communication was wonderful. It is evident she takes pride in her space. The apartment's location makes the center of town a little inaccessible by foot, but definitely a quick drive. Our favorite spot, Newburgh Brewing Co. is right down the hill. It is worth mentioning for any light sleepers that a train passes by somewhat frequently. Overall I would highly recommend Kathy's place to anyone visiting Newburgh.

    Douglas2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome apartment, fantastic view of the Hudson. The area in Newburgh is slightly sketchy, however the house is in a somewhat secluded area which makes it a lot better. Great price, no problems.

    Braden2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s place is the perfect getaway. It has a great view from a charming bedroom and Kathy is really attentive and helpful. Her spot is also a short walk from a fantastic Korean restaurant called Seoul Kitchen.

    Juliana2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem--pretty, very very clean and the views of the river are lovely. The cozy light filled bedroom was our favorite, followed by easy access to good food in beacon & newburgh, nearby hikes, and storm king. The train can be heard as it passes nearby, but we didn't find it troublesome. Kathy is communicative, warm and thoughtful. Great place to stay!

  • Doug and Brandon's barn house is spectacular. If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, book this! They are super friendly and great hosts. The home is beautifully decorated and the room is private and comfortable. We made use of their hot tub and they had a small continental breakfast available each morning we were there. Their home is conveniently located to great dining in Beacon, wineries, hiking, Storm King, and West Point. 10/10!

  • Doug and Brandon have a beautiful home and are fantastic hosts. All our needs were exceeded - we would happily stay again.

  • Doug and Brandon's place is a charming, immaculate, and perfectly-furnished upstate getaway home, and Doug and Brandon were delightful and helpful hosts. I would return/recommend without hesitation!!

    Rebecca2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Doug and Brandon were incredible hosts and really went above and beyond for our stay. My partner and I were delighted to arrive to a bottle of wine, a hand-written note, homemade granola bars for breakfast and fresh flowers in the room. We could not recommend this place enough. Did we mention there was a ridiculously large jacuzzi, complete with luxurious wardrobes to stay warm?

    Tara2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had the perfect weekend getaway thanks to Doug & Brandon. They have the most beautiful home and are incredibly gracious hosts. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

    Molly2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Doug and Brandon have a *beautiful* and unique home and spared no detail to make sure we had the best experience possible. Though we only got to overlap with them in person briefly, they were very friendly and helpful and also responsive by text when not home. They set out breakfast and coffee before we were even up in the morning and made us feel comfortable sharing their space. They also have two cats and a dog for any animal lovers out there. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area!

    Jonathan2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Doug and Brandon were outstanding hosts to complement their charming and immaculately featured home. The beautiful farm house is amazingly clean and comfortable. Doug and Brandon were very friendly and approachable, and had great recommendations for local sights and flavor. Thanks very much, Doug and Brandon!

  • This AirBnB home can't be missed! Doug and Brandon are very kind and gracious, their home is welcoming and beautiful, and the quiet neighborhood on a cul-de-sac were very peaceful. How many places have a hot tub you might be able use, while drinking a nice glass of wine and looking up at the stars?

  • Andrew and Kat's apartment was wonderful. This was a pretty last minute booking, but they managed to accommodate us. Kat met us with the key, and gave us great recommendations for restaurants near the house (we tried Ms. Fairfax for dinner and Caffe Macchiato for breakfast — both delicious!). I can personally attest to the comfiness of the pull-out mattress in the living room. Thank you for hosting us, Andrew and Kat!

    Joey2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, easy to deal with , would def stay there again

    Wes2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The room is clean and cozy. My family had a good night there. Also the host gave us a very clear checkin instruction. I would recommend the room to you.

  • This apartment is beautifully furnished and near the river. Note the pricing if you add a second person. The air conditioning could be improved. Let them know if you are expecting a second person that needs his or her own bed. Newburgh is in the midst of a renaissance and has a lot of charm.

    Linda2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • As a long time host, Andrew and Kat's place was fantastic for the Hudson Valley. The value was fantastic and restaurants were right around the corner. Communication was frequent and clear.

Very beautiful and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, as well as driving distance from many state parks, hiking spots, and of course the Storm King Art Center. Our cozy room is located in a restored 1850's Victorian home in New York's 2nd largest historic district. In spite of its urban setting, it's very quiet. A short walk takes you to cafes, riverfront restaurants, brewery and historic sites. We were the first listing in the City of Newburgh and we are centrally located.
This room is on the second floor in a restored historic house on a quiet one way street in downtown Newburgh above our business, Newburgh Art Supply. We are steps away from Washington's Headquarters, the Newburgh Brewery and Taproom, Liberty Street cafes, pubs and boutiques, Orange County Community College-Newburgh Campus, Newburgh Library, Newburgh City Hall, riverfront restaurants, Downing Film Center- and close to Mount St. Mary's College. It is a short walk to the ferry to the Beacon train station(runs only on weekdays during morning and evening rush hours). The room has a queen-size bed with a firm premium mattress, is fully furnished with a desk and dresser, and it has a nice size closet. It has two large windows facing north and west and a large west-facing window in the bathroom. Continental breakfast served in our elegant dining room- or seasonally in the garden if you wish. Wi-fi included- there is no TV anywhere in the house. The property has plenty of off-street parking. We are very accommodating hosts and are familiar with all the local restaurants, sites and events. Children: There is no room for any extra bedding for a child. The room holds two people maximum- including a child. Please be aware that we will only accept a child if there is only one adult, that the child will sleep on the same bed and that we are assured that the child will be watched at all times. It is not a child-friendly environment as we have delicate glassware and antiques scattered around the house.
The City of Newburgh is a friendly place. We are in the center of downtown in the historic district- the 2nd largest in New York State. Washington's Headquarters- where he spent the last two years of the Revolutionary War and gave out the first Purple Heart- is right next door to us. The waterfront and several other attractions are within walking distance. The community is diverse. The Fire and Police Departments are on the same block. Our block is one of the best in the city and there has been a large influx of restoration-minded newcomers who have bought everything around us. Improvements are happening rapidly.
  • I had a wonderful time. The conversations were great, the room was pleasant, and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood.

    Roberta2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Gerardo are the most wonderful hosts. The room was spacious, clean and has room for working with WiFi, a cute bathroom and easy access to the kitchen and a communal, beautifully dressed lounge. They made it extremely easy to make a last minute booking -- we received confirmation while on the road -- and made us feel at home within seconds with a mini tour of the beautiful, huge, restored house and a cup of tea. In the morning, breakfast is provided at a wonderful cafe only a block away from the apartment. A great stay if you love history, art and wonderful hosts.

    Charlotte2012-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • As first time Airbnb users, between the ambiance, hospitality and location, we could not have chosen a better place to stay. I highly recommend this lovely room, that was very clean, because the host Michael is professional, meaning that he was friendly, helpful yet not intrusive, therefore ensuring we had everything we needed. Michael enthusiastically provided us with additional information about the area (including places to eat along the riverfront), and offered us a wonderful basket of delectable pastries, together with freshly squeezed orange juice, each morning in the dining room. Thank you for making this a good experience...Suffice it to say we look forward to returning!

    Deb2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first airbnb experience and I am pretty sure it's hard to beat. Michael was friendly, neat and professional. The bed was extremely comfortable that we overslept for an hour. The bathroom was clean and the soap was especially awesome. The breakfast which was included at Cafe Macchiato one block away was excellent. I would strongly recommend anyone who wants to visit Newsburgh or Beacon to stay at Michael's!

    Natalie2013-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay, super friendly hosts, highly recommended! Amazing historic house filled with art and antiques.

  • What a pleasant stay in Newburgh/Beacon and completely gracious hosts. I could not have asked for anything more. I felt like I was at home. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Thank you.

    Jennifer2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Gerardo were wonderful and very knowledgeable hosts. We ended up getting into town later than expected and they were so accommodating. The room was wonderful and just what we needed. They even wash your towels every day! The house itself is beautiful and has a lot of history. You can tell that they both have such a passion for not only their art, but the neighborhood they live in.

Guests mentioned a rustic handcrafted place with unique features. On the W side of the Hudson River, N of West Point, next to last George Washington's Museum; close to Storm King, DIA, S of FDR's library, CIA etc; peaceful only organic B&B in Hudson Valley. Many arts & History possibilities. Spoil yourself with a healthy breakfast, fresh baked bread & sound sleep ... Note: this is a real Bed & Breakfast, where the owner lives that speaks also Portuguese, Spanish & German.
All carpentry and general installation was done by myself, thus unique and not perfect. The house, which is also my residence, albeit built in the 50s, has been retrofitted to be as much green as possible but some parts were still kept in the original, like the tiles on the bathroom floor (there are some scratches but that isn't dirt, please!). It has the domestic hot water heated by a solar system and the sun also generates electricity to the whole house making it, averaging the year, self sufficient in terms of electricity. Extra attention has been given to thermal insulation as well. The bed is equipped with certified asthma mattress cover & allergy pillows. There is a steam iron available which is meant to be used to wrinkled apparel; please ask for instructions. Thank you! The bedroom and bathroom are independent and guest's exclusive rooms separated from the kitchen/living (also guest's exclusive) room which, btw, for insurance reasons, is not supplied with utensils to cook; just to prepare or warm up quick and simple meals in the small convection oven or microwave besides to be used for the self-service style breakfast. A refrigerator is part of the kitchen's appliances besides the coffee grinder and percolator. There are organic coffee ground/beans in sealed jars to be ground at your will and taste as well as all the organic goodies in the refrigerator.
With a quiet neighborhood and the bed's location in a free geopathic stress-lines, a healthy and unstressed sleep is a strong part of a real relaxed stay at the Queendom.
  • Uwe has built a really impressive escape from the busy city. Great relaxing stay. Great breakfast in the morning with delicious coffee and fresh bread.

  • The place looks even better in real life than in the pictures. We had easy access to all the places we wanted to go. Uwe was an exceptional host, and the fresh baked bread he provided was delicious. We highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.

  • Use takes great pride in making his guests feel welcome. I felt as if I was truly on vacation. He provided me with homemade bread (which was delicious) and lots of smiles. He has a warm heart and loves life. You will definitely feel comfortable and cozy in his charming space, which is entirely handcrafted and built by him. I have absolutely no complaints, and nothing but relaxing and wonderful memories!

  • This was a really nice place to stay. The location was only about 15 min from West Point and the view of the Hudson was amazing! Levon was a wonderful host and took really good care of us. I would highly recommend this place!

    Susan2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Levon's home and would stay there again. Came out from west coast for A-day at West Point. A very quick trip with not much time to relax. Levon's place was so peaceful and the view is stunning. Two favorite places to reflect and enjoy natural beauty--Trophy point and Levon's living room windows. Very gracious and hospitable host who communicated well his guests and put us at ease.

  • My fiancé and I wanted to get away from the city and explore the Beacon area, and decided to stay in Garin and Clara's historic home in nearby New Windsor. Their home is absolutely gorgeous! And even more enjoyable than the home was their company. We were greeted by Clara and their two adorable dogs when we arrived and were given a tour of the place. After spending a day hiking and exploring Beacon, we came back to the house and enjoyed a bottle of wine on the back patio with them and their other guests, learning about the history of the area and having overall wonderful conversations. We ended our stay with a tour of Garin's art studio behind the home, which was breathtaking. Truly a unique and lovely stay!

  • Fantastic hosts and very friendly. Beautiful home.

  • The house was as it was depicted. Charming and quaint. The dogs were quite entertaining. We enjoyed our stay and Garin made us feel quite welcome. He is an accomplished artist and we enjoyed seeing his studio. Location is excellent and close to everything for that area.

  • I was on a bike trip with my girlfriend Carmen, and we stayed over at Garin's and Clara's place for a night! Garin and Clara have a beautiful old house close to Newburgh and rent some of the rooms for visitors. The house and the garden is beautiful, the location is very close to the Hudson shore, so everything is set for a great visit to the Hudson valley.

    Máté2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous newly remodeled 17th century carriage house. Lovely and interesting hosts. Garin is a fantastic painter and art teacher. Great place from which to explore the Hudson River Valley or even to stay going to or from Stewart airport, which is only 5 minutes away and a new hub for Norwegian airlines with its new $99 fare to Scotland, Ireland or Norway! Infinitely better than any local hotel.

    Wendy2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very interesting and enjoyable time at Garin and Clara's. They are warm, considerate people and the house is an historic gem, simply furnished and authentic. The room in which we slept was comfortable and attractive - (and has a beautiful Palladian window, a unique treat.) Gavin is a very accomplished artist, sharing some of his works and his stories with us. We enjoyed it all and would stay there again.

  • Clean, comfortable, and charming. This is a good home base for exploring the Hudson Valley, close to Storm King, Dia Beacon, and lots of good hiking. The listing is accurate and it was easy to check in and out and communicate with Aleies (though we did not meet him). I recommend bringing or renting a car as it would be a bit difficult to get around otherwise.

The home is located in the City of Newburgh, a town in the midst of a renaissance on the Hudson River, just 65 miles north of New York City. Our townhouse is located in Newburgh's historic district, driving distance to restaurants, galleries, cafes and more. You’ll love the mid-century decor in the open-plan living space and light-filled bedrooms, as well as the well-stocked, stylish kitchen.
Your Hudson Valley hideout is a perfect blend of old and new. With original 6” wood plank floors, period brick fireplace and vintage treasures throughout, it's a mid-century modern retreat for design lovers, in a town full of historic charm. Wake up the right way with a fix from our coffee bar – including fresh coffee - after a great night’s sleep in the bedrooms (a master with en suite and Queen bed; the other two with double and single beds and backyard views). The bedrooms feature a cool monochrome palette, the master bath is awash in luxe all-white tiles, while the sleek chef’s kitchen has a grey backsplash, breakfast bar and aged wood dining table (seating 6) - all flooded with natural light. Linger over the New York Times, delivered to your door on Saturday and Sunday. Will it be a history tour or wine-tasting today? Gallery-hopping or hiking? Your choice. When it’s time to get cozy, there are retro games, free wi-fi and Netflix waiting for you. Sink into the couch in front of the fireplace (it's non-functional, but big candles add all the flickering light needed for a romantic night) and enjoy our home's laid-back designer style. This home made us fall in love with the Hudson Valley – we know it’ll do the same for our guests.
Newburgh has plenty of places to eat, drink local wine, or rev up on artisan coffee or craft beer. Seven minutes’ walk brings you to Newburgh Brewery, recently named #1 taproom in New York state. Less than 10 minutes away you'll find Seoul Kitchen, Liberty Street Bistro, Mrs. Fairfax, Cafe Macchiato, Front Street Restaurants on the Hudson, and more, along Liberty Street and the riverfront. You definitely won't go hungry. For history buffs, the city is a treasure trove, boasting over 4,000 historic buildings, as well as loads of early American architecture. Just down the street you’ll find the picturesque park at Washington’s Headquarters, featuring the house where George Washington was based – and where peace was declared – during the Revolutionary War. Film fans can head over to the Downing Film Center for indie and art house cinema. Also within easy reach are hiking and ski trails, outlet shopping at Woodbury Commons, Storm King Art Center, Bear Mountain, West Point, and Mount St. Mary College. For more culture and entertainment, head across the Hudson to Beacon, a small thriving artist town.

  • Yani's place was very clean and modern. It was exactly as pictured and described. Check in was a breeze. Just note there is no ac and it was 96 degrees out. The bedrooms did thankfully have window units. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

  • My weekend in Newburgh was fantastic! The home did not disappoint and Yanikza was so easy to get in touch with and responsive anytime I had some questions. The beds were so comfortable we slept like babies. The home is steps away from a beautiful view of the river and a short walk to the main street and the river front there in Newburgh. Lots of restaurants and bars and places to eat. The house had all the necessities we needed and the stay really felt like home. Newburgh is a great little town to spend the weekend in and this house is the perfect place to stay while exploring. Thanks again for a great stay!

  • The house was just as pictured - clean, well designed, and modern with lots of character. Centrally located, just 5 minutes from town. Check in and check out was easy and flexible. I'd definitely stay again!

  • Our trip to Newburg was amazing thanks to Yani's place. It is modern and clean and we were very comfortable in the three bedroom and two bathroom space. We cooked breakfast each morning and it had the basics for cooking but did not have a microwave which would've been helpful for some things but we survived without it. Check in and check out was also very easy and the instructions and communication we had with Yani was always clear and easy to understand. We also felt very safe in the area and always found parking right outside the house. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.

    Debbie2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Yani's & Ash's home. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. It has lovely surroundings with lots of interesting history and close to everything else you might need. Also, there was lots of games and books to read. Highly recommended!

  • Our stay at Yani’s was perfect. The house is beautiful, clean, and so many added touches to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We were impressed by the kitchen-equipped with everything you need to make home cooked meals, including spices, condiments, coffee etc. Yani communicated quickly and clearly with us. We would definitely recommend this home to others and hope to return again soon.

  • Vincent was a great host and was very responsive in making arrangements - the home was as described and extremely cozy - and unique, with a combination of art and what I imagine to be original pieces or antiques. It was extremely relaxing - quiet, quaint and we felt comfortable coming and going as needed. I loved the upstairs room, and fell asleep with cool fresh air blowing in through the window. if you're headed to the area, coziest spot.

    Geoffrey2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room was nice and the host Vincent very kind and helpful. But the dog was a little bit too big and too intruding and we did not think the 'toilet's for the cats very hygienic. But if you like pets around it will be no problem for you!

  • Vince is a very hospitable host, and a charming and interesting person. His home is quaint and art-filled, and his cats are very cool.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Vincent's place for Memorial Weekend. Vincent was extremely flexible on checking in and checking out and his place was just as described. We had the privacy we needed and yet, whenever we had questions or wanted to chat, Vincent was available for us. Breakfast was provided every morning, room was clean and bed was comfy. The town of Beacon, mountains around, nature, hiking, biking - are all a short drive away. Two thumbs up!!!

  • My wife and I stayed at Vicent's place for 2 nights. His place was clean and cozy. The breakfast was both healthy and delicious. Vicent and his photographs are very inspiring to us. He even had driven us around Newburgh, explained some history and also took us to his studio. We had several interesting chats. It's our best Airbnb experience so far.

  • We had a great stay at Alison's place, she was an excellent host! Good communication and recommendations of what to do in the area. The front porch view of the Hudson was my favorite part of our stay, great place to relax with a drink after a busy day of sightseeing.

  • Alison's home is perfectly situated for visits to Storm King and Dia:Beacon. Alison is very friendly and a clear communicator, and she is super knowledgeable about restaurants and cafes in the area. This was our final stop on a road trip from Chicago to New York, and it worked out perfectly.

    Batya2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Alison is a fantastic host--we happen to share interests so we spoke on and on about our interests. She was very nice and offered me drinks or to buy anything I needed from the grocery store. I was tired from a three hour drive and a long day at a museum and coming to her home was a godsend. Her front porch has a fantastic view of the Hudson River Bay and I was able to take in the view and relax as the sun set. It's a very restful, clean place and I highly recommend it. Next time I'm in town I'll look to stay with Alison.

  • I decided to go on a trip for Dia:Beacon & Hudson River and It was great to stay Alison's place. It was cosy and comfortable. Larry was very nice and considerate. You can relax at backyard / porch, there are restaurants and bars, but you might need a car or taxi. I took a taxi to Dia:Beacon, it cost $12+1.50 (toll). There is a place for kayaking too. My husband and I and a couple of our artistic friends have purchased, renovated, and furnished this historic and architecturally stunning Fredrick Clarke Wither's mansion from 1866 in Newburgh, NY featuring Hudson River views from the deck and balcony. We completed the first phase of renovations and opened the home up to guests in July. Since then, it has been steadily booked through word of mouth. We excited to to open it up on AirBnB.
This is a great space for a large group of people who act as a family and enjoy sharing space. We are still chipping away and some items. The kitchen counters need to be replaced and some areas are still the original paint and floors and need repairs. I can go over some of these items some in more detail if you message me.
Newburgh is undergoing a major revitalization. It is the home of George Washington's Headquarters from where he fought and won the Revolutionary War. It is also the most architecturally and historically significant contiguous city in the United States. There is so much to see and do here in one of the most beautiful bends of the Hudson river. Beacon is a ferry or short 10 minute drive/uber ride across the river. West Point Academy is a 25 minute drive. Storm King Sculpture park is about a 15 minutes drive. Dia:Beacon is a 12 minute drive, just across the river. We will consider pets on a case by case basis. Please send me a note about who you are and what you intend to use the space for and I will get back to you quickly with my response.
  • Amy’s place was really amazing! It’s an incredible house with so many rooms - a real find! Her communication was top notch and she went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Nicholas’ place is fantastic. It’s naturally lit, super stylish in a Scandinavian fashion and extremely comfortable. The area is very quiet and the view over the hudson is exceptional. The neighbors are respectful and the countryside a 5 minute drive away is glorious. It’s very clean and the amenities are all in great condition. Thanks mate!

  • Very nicely designed and furnished loft apartment, just like the pictures. The communication with the hosts was excellent. Views from the apartment windows of the river are gorgeous. The location is good but we found less to do in Newburgh and instead spent more time in Beacon. On future trip would stay in Beacon. The downside of the apartment is there are no blinds or so window coverings in the bedroom and the sun comes up right into the room. Also there is an industrial train that runs along the building on the bedroom side.

The house was built in 1870 so stay in a historical space that has been completely renovated inside.
This is quintessential small town America. Small village with quaint restaurants and picturesque views. Complete with the allure of trains passing by with the Mighty Hudson as a backdrop. Never fear, the train is no different than living on a main street thoroughfare where the whirring quickly becomes the "norm". Since it is a freight line, the passings vary from frequent to infrequent, we hope you won't let this stop you from visiting this quaint village and enjoying our belove space.
  • Super cute house in a good location for a perfect get away from the city. Beautiful kitchen! The hosts were very nice and quick to respond, got us some nice fruits and allowed for a late check out, which gave us extra time to explore the area.

  • Very clean. Great kitchen. Close to some good eats. Grocery store is nearby. Close to the USMA. The house is right next to a train track, but did not notice it during the night. Beds were comfortable.

  • Very neat and nice place. The kitchen is really well stocked and organized. We had a great stay! The freight train could be noisy for folks who are sensitive to noise - it didn’t bother us much at all. Will definitely recommend to others.

    Roj2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie did a fantastic job communicating throughout our stay and the home was very nice. The kitchen was beautiful and well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. I'd say our experience was tainted, however, because of the location being right next to noisy train tracks, which was not mentioned to us before our stay (the listing has since been updated). We were there for a nearby wedding, so only really needed the house to sleep. If you are not a heavy sleeper, the noisy freight trains will keep you up, as they pass by every two hours. We were disappointed that this was not part of the listing or mentioned to us before our stay.

We were able to cook a few nice meals, walk 1/2 mile to the park on the Hudson river, have wine on the front porch, take a small trip into town for food and eating out. Coffee shop and Bar was close by. Kitchen and Dining area was even big enough to have friends come by for breakfast. The train did not bother us if the windows were closed.

A perfect location, easily accessable to shopping, West Point, Storm King Art Center, Dia, Hiking Trails and Famous Woodbury Commons. We have a gourmet kitchen, fireplace, hot tub and wonderful property to share with our guests. This is a Larger room with southeast exposure. Pets must be specifically pre-approved.
Quiet and restful room with a "private" bath in the hall (unless there are other guests). The house is a mission colonial on a pleasant and private acre at the end of a neighborhood cul-de-sac. Only 6 miles to West Point. The welcoming owners, empty nesters, are happy to help you with activities and directions. Coffee always, continental or full breakfast as life allows. 3 rooms are available in this house and families or groups of friends are welcome-we can easily accomodate 10 or more, Make it your home away from home for West Point events or a weekend in the country. Hot tub, sun room, fireplace. We have 2 small well socialized cats, a rabbit who visits and right now chickens. We may be able to welcome your pets. Let's talk...
I love how we are set so privately with our big yard, flowers and fruit trees, chickens and rabbit and yet only minutes to any convenience. I love our home with its wood floors, big french windows and amazing flow. I love the kitchen that even chefs say "wow" and the sunroom where we sing and play music summer evenings or the living room where we play games by the fire winter evenings. We are clean and comfortable. Life is good!!
  • This was my second time staying with Dawn, so I was obviously happy with the first visit and equally so with the second! Wonderful house, great property, friendly hosts and great local suggestions. Both times I've gone Dawn's suggestions have been the highlight of my trip... no exceptions this time around, super grateful. Highly recommend these guys!!

    Tyler2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn and Richy are warm, generous and helpful hosts. They prepared a very hearty breakfast for us and recommended more things than we could have possibly done during our three days in the area! As the description mentioned, we felt right at home - even watched an old Audrey Hepburn movie in the living room our last night. The bedroom is comfortable in the homey colonial and their 3 cats are friendly, too.

    Todd2012-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in this house with our host Dawn and Richi and other guests. It was easy to have contact, after arriving we were invited to sing and play guitar with the host and the friends, a very nice evening.

    Thomas2012-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed spending a night at Dawn's house and she is a great host. She cooked us perfect breakfast the next morning and shared her worldly-amusing stories..We hope to visit with her and her family again soon.

    Dino2011-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Not recommended if you are allergic to cats and like a clean room and bathroom. The room had other people's clothes in the closets and dresser. The house was a mess. No lock on our room's door, We booked and paid for 3 days and left after 1 uneasy night. Lesson learned!

    Francis2011-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's place is well situated near Newbourgh, a short drive to Storm King, West Point, Beacon, Dia Modern Art Museum, Mohonk and Minnewaska. Good to serve as a home base if you want to go to those places. Dawn and Richy are gracious and down-to-earth hosts. We were made feeling at home the moment we went in. Flowers and a personlized letter on the night stand are a nice touch. We were free to use the kitchen, living room and the hot tub, and invited to join other guests for conversation and music. We enjoyed the homey breakfast and chit chat sitting in the porch in a lazy Labor Day morning. If you need a place that is convenient, hospitable, comfortable and a good value in the Hudson valley, this is the place to be!

    Gary 2012-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn is a very considerate welcoming hostess and made me feel like her family. I thoroughly enjoyed staying with her and will again.

    Sarah2014-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn was a gracious and generous host, and the room was exactly as pictures and described. Comfort an ease - I couldn't have been more pleased with my stay!

  • we felt very welcome and our hosts were a wealth of information about the area and the town. we loved the proximity to beacon and hiking and had a lovely weekend!

    Margo2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. The house was even more georgeous than the pictures and Merle was very helpful and thoughtful, leaving out breakfast every morning and helping us figure out how to get to our destinations. Also enjoyed meeting their friendly cat and using their pool table.

    Katherine2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house was stunning. Masterfully renovated with period pieces. We played pool in the living room as jazz played and it felt like we were in parlor from the 1920s. The whole place was magical. Our room had a view of the Hudson from our balcony. I would recommended it in a heartbeat.

    Jason2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at The Grand House; Merle and Chris were fantastic hosts and their home was magnificent. We loved our room and enjoyed having coffee and snacks on the back porch in the morning. And the entire house was warm and inviting, with an elegant style and charm. Merle was very accommodating when I asked to reschedule our booking and we really enjoyed getting to know her and Chris. I'd highly recommend staying here - I know we'll be back!

    Christine2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Merle was lovely and helpful. The house was absolutely beautiful! My boyfriend and I were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Newburgh. Merle has a high attention to detail with lush robes available, breakfast at 7:30am and wine glasses handy. We stayed in room 3 and enjoyed wine in the evenining on the back balcony overlooking the Hudson. Such a treat!

    Kelly2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a historical gem and just a perfect getaway for a weekend from the city. Rooms were clean, bathrooms impeccable and we loved playing pool at the end of the night. Bed was extremely comfy and the house was oozing with coziness! Merle's husband is so knowledgable about the history of the area and if anyone wants to engage to find out very interesting details about Newburgh and the surroundings make sure you take the time to speak with him. We hope to come back at another time!

  • If you find yourself in the Beaxon/Neeburgh area The Grand is a must stay. The hosts were accomodating and welcoming. The place is a Victorian architectural gem renovated with a care for authenticity and detail. The views of the Hudson River and Fishkills range nothing short of amazing.

This classic 1912 four square home faces historic Downing Park. A beautiful green space created by renowned Olmstead and Vaux, Central Park architects. Keith, your host is a local film maker. Our home is complete with original detail and is lovingly filled with Hollywood memorabilia. Enjoy your private floor WITH TWO bedrooms. One guest room with two comfy single beds or a large suite with a queen size sleigh bed in our charming residence.
This classic 1912 foursquare home with original details faces Historic Downing Park just steps away from my front porch. The well maintained park opened in 1892 was designed by noted Central Park architects Vaux and Olmstead. A perfect place for pictures, picnics, jogging, bike riding and communing with nature. Ducks, geese. heron, hawks, turtles and fish make it their home as well. I feel my home is special because it celebrates my love of film. As a film maker who loves sharing my knowledge of classic film I have collected memorabilia, original costume sketches and personally owned items from film icons. If time allows this friendly host will even share a classic film on a custom 7 ft. by 5 ft. screen. Newburgh is a great city to explore. It houses the 2nd largest historic district in the state and one can walk through 4 centuries of diverse architecture. Artists like myself are moving here and lovingly restoring historic riverfront homes. A great place to visit and or make home just 50 miles North of NYC. Visiting Newburgh will guarantee you make and find new friends.
Our street of turn of the century homes facing Downing Park was actually developed by a pioneering woman named Mary Townsend. Mary's father was the city of Newburgh's Mayor before the first world war when she developed this beautiful block of homes. To insure quality built homes on this row no home could be erected below the cost of $2500.00. A considerable amount of money in 1910. Neighbors today are friendly, care for their homes on Downing Park Terrace and the historic park they look at as their front yard. The home which directly faces Downing Park was created in 1898 by the world famous design team of Olmstead and Vaux. Andrew J.Downing, considered the father of American landscape and design, mentored the famous Vaux and Olmstead team who designed Central Park in NYC. They designed this park in honor of their mentor, Downing, at no cost to the city. Keith, your host, can now make arrangements with our local eateries and bars to provide guests with discounts at participating establishments.
  • Keith is very welcoming, friendly, and pleasant. The set-up of his home worked very well for my group's needs, and he was generous with his "check-out" time, allowing us to stay late to get ready for a wedding.

    Natalie2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Keith was a great host - we didn't spend too much time at his place, but our interaction was seamless, he was very warm and accommodating, and we enjoyed our stay. One thing to note (and this is my fault, not Keith's, as he mentions his cat in the listing) - my girlfriend has a cat allergy which flared up a bit in the downstairs area of the home. Upstairs in the guest quarters it didn't seem to bother her, but it's something to note for those who are sensitive to cats. Otherwise our stay was great and we would certainly stay again.

    Jeff2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Keith has the gift of hospitality. If your a detail person who savors the grace of flexibility, Keith is your man. He was a warm and welcoming host. My fiancé and I enjoyed our film retreat getaway and even got to enjoy some Halloween fun at Keith's film showing of, "Rosemary's Baby" in Newburgh. His cat is adorable when present (because he's shy but cute) and the hot tub was a great retreat from a hard week of working for the both of us. We enjoyed our stay so much that we'll definitely come back again! Thank you Keith for a great stay. Cheers to you my friend! I look forward to my next visit :)

    Christina2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Keith was very accommodating. He sensed that we had had a rough travel day. So he made us a round of martinis. Which was exactly what we needed. Newburgh is a gritty town but Keith's neighborhood is fine. We felt safe walking around at night

    Harry2015-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We honestly couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable weekend getaway than what we received at Keith's place! We had a wonderful, enormous bedroom with a big comfortable bed and big windows overlooking the park across the street, and a very clean, renovated bathroom in the next room. Keith gave us bath robes, towels, clean sheets, coffee in the morning, and all the privacy we wanted, as well as some great local tips. Keith even picked us up from the train station and took us straight to a great restaurant to eat at!

    Henry2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Keith is an awesome host -- warm and welcoming. The home is totally charming. It is vintage yet well-maintained, decorated with fun, eclectic memorabilia. We loved the location as it was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go (we were visiting our son at West Point but also enjoying some great restaurants in Newburgh). The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. We will return.

    Elizabeth2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time traveling with our dog and Keith made it super easy and friendly. His home is located across the street from a large park, which is great if you have a dog. Keith's extensive knowledge of the town was helpful for figuring out what to do for the evening.

  • Laurie is an awesome host and her place was perfect. It is very clean and the bed was so comfy!! It is a perfect location for me because it is about 15 minutes away from. West Point and I have a daughter going there and it is nice to be able to get her back and forth quickly. The little town down the street is adorable and lots of options to eat or get a cup of coffee. I will definitely be renting from Laurie again!!

  • Laurie's place was great! On a cute little street in town, it was perfectly situated for adventures in Storm King, Breakneck Ridge, kayaking on the Hudson, dining/visiting towns nearby. Everything was 30 min away or less by car. The apartment was clean, cozy, a great place to recharge after a long day of adventuring! And Laurie was a wonderful host, very helpful & responsive, gave us a lot of tips for the surrounding area. She's been in Cornwall for a long time and knew everybody! Thank you Laurie for making us feel at home!

    Daniel2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie's place is great! The location is perfect to walk to restaurants/bars. What attracted me to move to Beacon and the Hudson Valley are it's contrasting elements: the mountains and the river, the towns and wilderness, the people and nature and the variety of activities. It's simply brilliant all year round! Checkout Beacon's own website for attractions: http://cityofbeacon.org/ The NYTimes article is also interesting on Beacon: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/15/realestate/beacon-ny-quaint-city-rediscovered.html?smid
  • A big thanks to Jim & Adrian's wonderful and gracious hospitality they showed during our stay. Both were tremendously helpful and extremely generous with their time as we figured out the arrangements of our damaged car. Being temporarily stranded in Beacon at their cozy and artistically furnished house wasn't such a bad thing! The vastly landscaped grounds filled with gardens, hammocks and a fire pit lived up to the photos. The morning breakfast with pancakes, tea, coffee and/or juice provided the special treat to start the day. Definitely worth revisiting!

    Paul2013-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had a tranquil 2-night stay at The Hermitage, attended to by Adrian, Jim, and their lovely cats Leon, Truffaut and little dog Angus.  I'd fallen in love with the Dia:Beacon and the surrounding nature of Beacon, NY on a previous trip and wanted to spend a little more time exploring this time around - I found a comfortable and inspiring point to rest and recharge with Jim and Adrian. Adrian even supplied a delicious home-cooked breakfast both mornings, bearing in mind my wheat allergy. I drank my coffee on the sprawling green property one morning, playing fetch with Angus, then wandered down to the stream and basked in the sun for awhile. Later, I put my feet up in the main sitting room and played myself some records while Leon the cat warmed my lap.The house is truly beautiful, and home to an impressive and stately collection of oil paintings and art objects. Everything was clean and polished...linens were crisp, towels were wonderfully fluffy. The next day, I hiked down to Breakneck Ridge via a path near the house. Both hosts were warm and gracious - I'm a traveler on the quieter end of the spectrum, and I traveled alone this time - they both made me feel very welcome while giving me plenty of space to just roam the property or hole up with a book. I was even offered a ride to/from the station/Manhattan. Adrian and Jim left no stone unturned! They're planning on turning The Hermitage into a full-time art center/retreat/b&b...I look forward to returning in the future.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Jim and Adrians House in Beacon! The trip to them along the Hudson alone lets you forget the hassles of the city and their house is a perfect place to relax. The whole house is beautiful and the rooms are very unique. Jim and Adrian are great hosts, very helpful with finding places to eat or where to go for some beautiful hikes. The breakfast pancakes are the best! All in all I can only highly recommend staying with them, we had a perfect time - thank you so much!

  • We has a wonderful time at Jim's during our stay in Beacon. The room and grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and his recommendations on places to go were great. A great place to stay if you're doing the beacon/cold spring hangout for a weekend!

  • Luke: I can't say enough good things about Jim and Adrian and the Beacon Hermitage. I've stayed at many places that like to refer to their customers as 'guests', but never have I been somewhere where I truly felt more like a guest than a customer. Jim and Adrian are beautiful people with a beautiful home and three wonderful animals. Their garden is a lovely place to relax, with a gorgeous waterfall a five minute walk away. Beacon's lovely hiking trails are practically in their back yard. Adrian's breakfasts (four kinds of pancakes!) are a fantastic way to start the day. I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We will definitely go back! Aga: Our stay with Adrian and Jim was absolutely amazing and surpassed our expectations. The house itself is lovely and full of antiques and paintings. The atmosphere is very relaxed and we often found ourselves sitting around the kitchen table chatting with Adrian and playing with the cats. As soon as we got comfortable we got a tour of the house and the trail to the waterfall that is 5 minutes away. The waterfall is actually deep enough for diving in. While it was too cold when we were there we are planning on going back and doing some swimming :) Adrian is an incredible cook and a successful artist and we got to see him in action in the kitchen and his studio. Jim offered to drive us to town since we got there by the train. The hosts outfitted us with water bottles and provided bug spray. By the time we were leaving I felt like we made new friends (including three 4-legged ones) and I can't wait to go back.

  • Communication was excellent and arrival smooth. Dawn's place was much more cozy and welcoming than I expected. Her entire family is warm and friendly. We cooked a nice dinner together after my arrival and discussed many topics from the house decorations to capitalism :) If this place is in the area you are looking, don't hesitate at all to stay! You will be surely glad you did! I hope to stay again when in the area. Thanks again!

  • This place is a great stay for those going for a day to Dia Beacon and the surroundings. Host is welcoming and makes great coffee.

  • Staying at Dawn's was like staying with an old friend or family member. The location was perfect for what I was doing (a couple days of hiking with my dog). Dawn and Richy are great hosts who offer wine upon arrival, recommend local hikes, will take you places in town if needed, and even cook you breakfast! The fact that they allowed me to bring my sweet, well behaved dog was a lifesaver for me, and very much appreciated.

  • Dawn and her family made me feel right at home in their beautiful home on a quiet street in historic New Windsor. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and I can't say enough about their hospitality, the hot tub and the peaceful local. We made a connection that will last well into the future!

  • Dawn & her family were extremely friendly, welcoming & accommodating. She met me at check-in and took me on a tour of her chicken yard (upon my request), and showed me around her beautiful home. The room is just as described. The bed is very comfortable. And the house, in its entirety, is very charming. Oh, and the morning coffee was delicious! Thanks, Dawn!

  • Dawn's SuperHost status is RICHLY DESERVED! She is a terrific host, and her husband/family couldn't be nicer or more welcoming. She seems to be a guru of the area, and treated us with immense care and generosity. I hope we return soon.

  • I had a brief but great stay with Ruth. The house is exactly as pictured Ruth was welcoming and her family were brilliant to talk to the evening I stayed, inviting me to join them for dinner. I'd definitely recommend this Airbnb

  • Dawn has a well-maintained, lovely old farmhouse (the farm is long gone) in a quiet, safe neighborhood about 30 minutes from West Point. Our room was clean, comfortable, and simply furnished. As noted by a previous reviewer, Dawn has a cat, and there are no locks on the bedroom doors. This is someone's home, not a hotel. There are two kinds of homes: the kind you live in, and the kind you look at. Dawn and her family live there. There was nothing dirty or disorderly about the place. We stayed the weekend of the Great Halloween Nor'easter of 2011. The Army football game was a cold, wet, miserable disaster. After the game, we got stranded in the dark for 5 hours on Route 293, waiting for the plows, and the power was out when we straggled in at 2:45 a.m. Was this a lost weekend? No way. Dawn's home is cozy and comfortable, and she and her husband, Rich, are such engaging and interesting people. She even made us cowboy coffee on Sunday morning while the power was out. This is why we travel. We had a terrific time, blizzard notwithstanding(URL HIDDEN)

This townhouse is close to West Point, Mohonk Mountain House, Washington's headquarters, Knox Headquarters, Newburgh -Beacon Ferry to Metro North straight into Grand Central Station. Close to riverfront restaurants and beautiful views of the Hudson Valley
Beautiful Hudson River view. Short walk to restaurants, clubs and ferry to the Beacon train station which will take you to the city. Off street parking, clean and neat townhouse with washer/dryer. Make yourself at home.
Downing Film center is right down the street as well as restaurants and night life. I'm very close to West Point, Mohonk Mountain House, Hyde Park, Beacon, Washingtons Headquarters and Karpeles. The police station is right behind the house and the view of the river is not only therapeutic but very entertaining as a variety of boats and ships go by daily.
  • I chose Gail's home because we needed a place that didn't require a car. I must say that it was above and beyond what we expected! The view was incredible and even though we were on a quiet street, we were walking distance to some very nice restaurants on the waterfront! If I hadn't (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)d anything, I could have easily missed the awesome places by the water. Kitchen is fully equipped, which came in very handy for cooking breakfast, and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't have much time to explore the historical area since we were busy with my son's baseball tournament but would gladly come and stay there again (if Gail allows it, that is!). Highly recommend her place :-)

  • This is a neat location with a view of the Hudson. There are nice restaurants on the river front that are within walking distance. Gail is great and very accommodating. There are close neighbors in the complex and an occasional cargo train pass by, if you're a light sleeper...

  • Gail was a very responsive, thoughtful, and gracious host. Couldn’t be better!

  • Thank you for sharing your home! Everything was very nice! Loved looking out the windows, the river was beautiful. The condo was very clean and easy to find. Close to everything. Gail was wonderful and went out of her way to accommodate our every need and more. I highly recommend this for your visit to Newburgh NY on the Hudson River.

  • I had the pleasure of spending two months at Gail's home, the experience was absolutely great. the surrounding area was nice and it was only a short walk down to the water front, where you could take advantage of some good eats and good views! It is also only a 10 minute drive over the bridge to Beacon, if you'd like to check out more restaurants and little shops. Gail's home was very clean and comfortable. She was such a pleasant and friendly host, always willing to go the extra mile. I would definitely recommend Gail and her home for anyone needing a place to stay in the area. How could you pass up the beautiful view of the Hudson River! I will certainly be back.

  • This was the perfect location for me to walk to work. Gail is a very good host she even found me a ride from Beacon Station to her place.

    Ziska2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gail's is a great location for a couple or individual. It has an amazing view of the river at sunrise! The condo is well kept and the room is plenty spacious and comfortable. I was travelling alone to visit the Military Academy and it was a very easy 20 minute drive to Thayer Gate. Gail was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Would definitely rebook!

    Kathy2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, Gail was very quick to respond back, we had the house to ourselves so felt very private, very clean and home feel. View of the Hudson amazing. Restaurants down the street and park. Thanks for sharing Gail would definitely stay again
