  • Heidi's place is exactly what we needed for a on-night stay near Sunday River. It was clean and comfy and the check in/check out were a breeze. We'd definitely be back in the future

  • We were greeted upon arrival by Paul who had made a nice fire in the stove. Their camp was a perfect stop for my 13 year old son and me. We made dinner and watched a movie on Netflix before continuing on our ski tour. Highly recommend.

    Steve2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night - when we arrived our hosts had a fire going, showed us around the house, answered all of our questions and made us feel welcome. It snowed most of the night but by the time we woke up the drive was cleared - we'll stay again.

  • Cozy place, right on the pond. Very tranquil.

    Sally2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Relax after a long day on the mountain in this cosy cabin with a wood burning stove. There was considerable snow accumulation giving beautiful views of the woodland out the back and of the rather large pond out front. I would stay here again.

  • Great people and great little cabin near all the best of Bethel!

    Amanda2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! The cottage was full of everything you need and super clean. When we arrived Paul had a fire going for us which was very welcoming after a long drive. The cottage was within fifteen minutes of Sunday River and plenty of places to eat. Heidi and Paul were quick to respond to questions and great host. Will definitely stay again if I'm in the area. Thank you for a great place to stay at a reasonable price.

  • Chuck’s place was perfect for a place to stay before hitting the slopes at Sunday River. I booked last minute and he was very accommodating. Best of all, it was a great deal!

    Samuel2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third stay at Chuck’s place - comfortable, central, and a great value! Highly recommended. Beware the Bethel street parking ban overnight during the winter. Our second car got towed and it set us back $175 to retrieve it!

  • This is our second stay at Carol’s place and it was a perfect trip! Sparkling clean and stylish place with a beautiful view. Carol is a very thoughtful host. She left breakfast for us, extra comforters for my mom who gets cold easily, and lent us snow shoes to explore the nature. Would definitely come back again!

    Mei2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carol gave us a great stay for a skiing vacation to Sunday River. She kept it very clean, and the place was surprisingly very modern in this rural Maine area. Definitely would recommend to all aspiring outdoor enthusiasts!!

  • We had a fantastic weekend at Sheryl's place. We were very happy with all the little touches, like the gift basket, and how clean and inviting everything was. The bed was super comfortable, and it's such a peaceful little house - We'd highly recommend it!

  • Amazing cozy spot that is private but so close to town. We loved getting a taste of the mountain and went for a much needed romantic rendezvous only to have me propose for our second time and he accept at renewing our vows a year from now up on the mountain :) we are so blessed and we appreciate it all. Thanks Sheryl! Also we left the Burger mountain menu, it was amazing! And opening weekend didn’t disappoint! Perfect stylish spot for a great value! We wish we could have stayed longer! :)

    Sara2019-11-11T00:00:00Z

  • This is a super cute and cozy cabin! We loved hanging out here and it is close to White Mountains and the town of Bethel is fun to walk around. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is a huge plus, being a good size and well stocked! Highly recommended!!

    Sonja2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Sheryl's place. The house was clean and comfortable and she went the extra mile with several very thoughtful touches. The check in and all communications went very smoothly. We basically had a great stay and would highly recommend this accommodation.

Camp Wigwam! Lakefront cottage on North Pond just minutes away from Sunday River and Mt. Abrams. Stay in comfort with all the amenities. Ski, snowshoe, ice fish, hike, boat, swim or just relax at camp. WiFi with a Smart TV - access to Netflix, Amazon and other options. Close to Bethel with lovely restaurants, bars and other fun things to do. Great for kids, couples and families. Very easy to get to all year round. Follow us on Instagram @campwigwamme.
  • This cabin is fabulous! It is decorated so nicely and the views of the lake behind the cabin are fabulous! The cabin was incredibly clean and fully stocked with towels, sheets, paper products, etc. The hosts even left a few toiletry items in the bathroom, which was a nice touch! The cabin has everything in the kitchen you need to eat on/with and to prepare meals. There is a grocery store about 10-15 minutes down the road in downtown Bethel. We arrived when it was dark and it was a little difficult to find (when Airbnb added the reservation to my google calendar it put in the wrong address, which may have just been a glitch), but if you follow the address on the listing, you will be able to find it more easily! We used the cabin for a ski trip to Sunday River. The resort is only about a 15-20 minute drive away (its only three turns after you turn out of the driveway). Mt. Abram, another ski area, is only about 5-10 minutes away. We used the cabin in winter, which made for a cool experiencing of walking out on the frozen lake. However, this cabin would be so much fun in warmer months too when you could throw open the door and windows (there are screens) and let the natural air flow through the house. Overall, this was a delightful experience and I would stay here again!

  • This is such a cute place! Very well kept, clean, cute and stylish, super well stocked with everything you would need, and a beautiful backyard view! Heather responds right away to any questions. We will definitely come back to this place when we’re in the area again and recommend to others!

    Tobi2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and Heather was wonderful. Close to everything. Skiing, snowshoeing and restaurants. Would go back anytime.

    Sarah2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Heather's place is the perfect, cozy cabin right on the lake with incredible views.. the house itself is extremely clean, has everything you would need & is only 15 mins from Sunday River (which is why we were there) but we are definitely looking forward to coming back during the summer! Heather is also very easy to contact if you need anything!

    Jillian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend Heather's place to our friends & family! Perfect for our family of four during February Break - fully stocked kitchen, conveniently located to skiing , warm & cozy :-)

    Christine2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's place was great!

    Nancy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's place was cozy and comfortable, and very well appointed/stocked. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the setting along the lake! Heather was also communicative and helpful on a stormy night to be sure we had what we needed. We appreciated that very much.

A one-of-a-kind place. Retreat like setting & atmosphere. Utter quiet, save for the wind, birds, & sometimes owls & coyotes at night. Lakes, rivers, skiing & hiking nearby, or take a lovely, quiet walk/snowshoe right from the house. Grocery & drugstore 10 minutes away. Off-the-grid, solar powered, & woodstove cozy. Beautiful 3 season porch. Yoga studio & piano, too! Relaxation & natural beauty, unplugged. COVID-19: please do not instant book. I am renting after asking a few ?s. Thanks.
Peaceful, romantic, inspiring and comfy OFF THE GRID solar powered home, lovingly created and enjoyed by many. The solar panels work like a charm! The house is only 6 miles to town, yet loads of privacy and peace and quiet. Overlooks mountains to the north and west - spectacular sunsets, and amazing stargazing! Beautiful meandering yard & field, no visible neighbors. Should you happen to read the lengthy and volatile review from March 2020, please know that in 8 years of renting, no one has ever had the issues that this person did. I was concerned, and let him know - I was not, however, rude. It did inspire me to make the house info more concise, however. Please look beyond that review, and take into account that I am a super host, which means mostly 5 star reviews! Thank you... House has an open kitchen - dining - living room, with piano and mountain view. Several perches for eating - the kitchen island, the dining table overlooking the view, or the porch in warmer months. The daylight basement is a yoga studio with a view of the field and beyond, & the woodstove - open space to play, dance, stretch - whatever moves you. The house is heated by the woodstove, and is very tight & cozy. A propane fireplace is used only as VERY occasional supplementary heat, as the woodstove is much more efficient. Please honor this. (It will not be on during the warmer months, at least June thru August) There are 2 baths - the one upstairs has a clawfoot tub, downstairs has a shower. Please read notes posted in both bathrooms! Sleeping accommodations are: 2 loft bedrooms - one w/queen size bed & one w/twin, & also on main floor there's a single daybed overlooking the mountains. The enclosed porch has a futon couch that opens to a double bed - appropriate only for warm months, as the porch is not heated. Please note, the layout is very open, and does not allow for complete privacy with groups, unless one couple is in the house and another on the porch. It is also not the best space for toddlers (though I adore them!) with the stairs being rather open, and the wood stove. There is a fire ring for having outdoor fires under the stars - take wood from my burn pile, out in the field or the wood on porch, or scavenge the woods for deadwood or bring your own firewood. Please DO NOT use wood from the shed for outdoor fires! I pay dearly for it, and it is for heating the house, only. There is 'camp wood' available for purchase several places in town. It is easy to 'hide out' at my place, and equally easy to access entertainment and local shops. Cell phone coverage is good w/most major cell phone companies. TMobile does NOT work here! Let me know ahead of time if interested in private yoga, meditation, Thai-Shiatsu or Reiki. I can also give you contacts for good local massage therapists, some of whom will come to the house, or if you are a massage therapist, and want to share your skills with your pals, there is a massage table in the yoga room. If you need any of the following, please bring your own (even though there may be some in the house, as I live here!): olive oil, vinegar, paper towels, coffee. There are plenty of teas and herbs and spices for your use. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THE WATER IS GOOD TO DRINK. This saves you (and the planet!) from using multiple plastic bottles of water. If you find yourself needing something from the private food stash, in either of the corner cupboards, please either replace or leave some $ in the blue tea container on top of fridge. Ditto, if you break anything. Honesty is much appreciated. Please make sure to read the section "other things to note" (and all others!) Give yourself a vacation to remember. . . to refresh, restore and inspire your spirit. Many thanks, Karen
Super quiet - No visible neighbors. Walk, bike, hike or ski right from the door. Dirt roads make for pleasant walking or running. Spacious sky for star gazing, & sunset viewing. Downtown is just a 10 minute drive, with plenty to do - see Guidebook
  • This place is a true escape from the city. The wooden home feels like it has a warmth and life all of it's own. A wood-burning furnace provided most of the warmth, while also adding the scent of fire and sound of crackling wood. Even beyond the town of bethel has two great ski mountains, one having fireworks the day after Valentine's day. And lovely cafe, Dicocca's, that is a delicious vegetarian breakfast spot. Visiting Karen's Airbnb let me and my partner connect in a place we felt entirely welcome. Thank you so much for letting us stay.

    Daniel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s home is a special space. It is the most charming and cozy environment with a stunning view. It has great access to any of your favorite winter activities, and allows one to escape into the natural beauty of the surrounding area. We spent much of our time sipping tea, listening to music, and playing with our dog Scout in the yard. Scout loved it! It was all smiles from us. Thank you Karen for sharing the beauty and fun with us! ~Kathy

    Kathy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pure magic! The most lovely remote cabin to relax and reset.

    Nicole2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place is exactly what the doctor ordered. Quiet, somewhat remote, and absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the scenery, and the tub, the cozy kitchen, and the cd collection. Karen herself is warm, charming, and attentive.

    Dalia2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place is unreal. I don’t think we left the living room nook for a full day, many of those hours spent sipping tea and admiring a spectacular view. The space itself is open and soaks in the sun during the day, allowing you to do almost everything without lights, and her directions about how to care for the space are thorough and doable. Being a previous off-grid home dweller, I still am delighted to have used—for the first time—a remote to start the generator. It’s simple. Read her directions and it’s easy peasy. More perks, the bathtub was much larger than expected! As for location, it’s easily accessible, very close to town and the Good Food store, BBQ stand, etc. and like everything else, her directions are flawless and we made it there without GPS. Really could recommend this place more. Thank you, Karen!

    Annie2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's magical place off the grid is a desperately welcomed experience in our hyper-busy, hyper connected, always "on" lives...I'd go back in a heartbeat. As long as you are prepared for some quirkiness (as in methods to get things to work in ways that we aren't' often used to in our too-easy and take-it-all for granted life-styles) and go with an open mind and a beating heart, you will smile from ear to ear once you get settled in. We didn't want to leave, and suspect this is the way most guest feel who have discovered this little piece of heaven tucked in the western corner of Maine. Loved it.

    Nina2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here over a long weekend. Karen was an excellent host, very thorough and made sure our needs were met. It’s a great place for anybody looking for some peace and quiet with a rustic vibe. Beautiful foliage in the fall.

  • This was a Christmas gift to my son so I did not personally stay but he texted me as soon as he got there "Mom, this is awesome, it's perfect" The skiing from the door and the outdoor pool in the winter seemed to be highlights!

  • We loved Stephanie’s place. Communication was fast and clear. Space was clean and spacious, had everything we needed. Best of all, location for ski in/out was awesome, we got to explore a new side of the mountain. The pool was a nice perk!

  • It is a true ski in/ ski out as advertized. Good lift access. Good dining near by. Ski area has very diverse terrain.

  • Great air bnb! First time staying at a ski in and out place. Extremely convenient location, had everything we needed, the amenities of the pool/hot tub area were great after long days of snowboarding. Stephanie was a great host, great communication, and very accommodating with check in/check out times. Overall, I would highly recommend this air bnb.

    Kristen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location at Sunday River. True ski-in and ski-out-literally 50 ft from the slopes! We used the kitchen facilities for breakfast but otherwise ate out with lots of choices in the area. The host was very responsive to questions and easy to work with

Pets and their reasonably well-behaved humans are welcome at my traditional New England B & B! Minutes away from Sunday River and Mt. Abram ski resorts, and the Appalachian Trail, we are ideally suited for those who want to include their furry friends in their adventures. I have 2 bedrooms with queen size beds/private baths and free Wi-Fi. The quoted prices include accommodations for humans and their pet(s), a full delicious breakfast, and snacks to take up to the mountain with you.
Rooms are well-equipped with everything you could need for a comfy stay: dog towels, boot warmers, electric mattress pads, individual air conditioners for the warmer months, and lots of other "extras". All bedrooms are located on the second floor, so climbing one flight of stairs is required. With advanced notice, I am happy to accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions. Your pets can stay safely contained in your room while you are out skiing or exploring, or they can hang out with me and the other critters in residence. A fully-fenced outdoor area gives pups a place to romp and make new friends. Another room is available if additional accommodations are needed.
I am located in a rural setting 2 miles from the town of Bethel. Bethel has numerous restaurants and shops. There is also a small grocery store, post office, movie theater, and a mineral museum. I am only 7 miles from Sunday River Resort which offers a variety of activities, summer and winter.
  • Absolutely perfect experience for travelers with dogs. Even without I would stay again in a heartbeat. Couldn't ask for more. Best value I've ever had on air bnb.

  • Carol’s place is perfect for dog lovers like us. The place is close to Sunday River, super clean, and is welcoming and friendly.

    Colin2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! Carol has thought of everything - there’s a trash can just for poop bags, dog treats in the kitchen, and we had a “Pooch Towel” in our room to wipe paws. There is a fenced area in the back, and you can walk out front too. Breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend Paws Inn.

    Valerie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place to stay! Carol was so welcoming to us and our dogs and even watched our pups during the day while we skied! Super clean, delicious hot breakfast and a nice fenced in yard! We loved it here!

    Liz2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was great and it was so nice to not worry about Stanley (our pup) while we were skiing! We can't wait to come back! Thank you.

    Erin2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific time staying at the Paws Inn! It was wonderful to have a place where our dog was welcome, and Carol had lots of thoughtful touches that made us and our pooch feel at home. The room was spotlessly clean and comfy. There was a quilt cover and towel for the dog. She even had a fenced yard for the dog to go outside. Best place for pooches!

    Tora2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is just the sweetest host you could hope for! It’s like going back to your mom’s house. We were going on a hike and she was making sure we had our food, water and snacks. Dogs are not just allowed they are really welcome! She truly loves dogs and we couldn’t feel more at home!

    Rosie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most pet-friendly experience we’ve ever had! Carol exceeded our expectations with a great space, breakfast and many extras including gifts for our dog. We felt relaxed and at home —- our pup, Penny really wanted to stay!

Want a quiet and relaxing place to stay near Sunday River? This is the place! This downstairs apartment is only .3 miles from South Ridge Lodge, you could walk if you wanted to! Located on a dead end dirt road you would never know the mountain is so close. This fully furnished apartment has been recently redone with lots of love. With 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 fully furnished kitchen and 1 pull-out couch this is a great place for 1-2 couples or a family of 4 to stay.
We are very close to Sunday River Ski Resort, but you would never know it. We live on a dead end dirt road that is very quiet and peaceful. We have wonderful neighbors and everyone here are dog lovers! It is a small community here and everyone will make you feel welcome.
  • Kelli and Kenny went out of their way for us with some unexpected scheduling issues. The place was great and they are nice and close to Sunday River!

    Jeremy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kelli and Kenny’s place was absolutely amazing!!! Perfect location to stay while skiing at Sunday River. Everything about their place made us feel right at home. Including the fresh bread! The communication and checking in process was flawless. I would highly recommend them to anyone coming to the area.

    Megan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Everything was neat, clean, and inviting. Excellent location and the folder with recommendations on where to go was a great touch. We not only had a great time exploring the area from a convenient location, but also got great sleep in the super comfy bed and quiet atmosphere.

    Courtney2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kelli and Kenny’s place is so awesome! It is literally 2 minutes from the Sunday river base... too bad there isn’t 6 stars for location and value! The basement apartment has all the necessities for a family of 4 with small to med. children that are comfortable sleeping on the sofa bed (I would not recommend that for an adult) or a blow up mattress. This is the second year that we stayed here. Wonderful family memories!!! Planning on coming again!

    Dan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was wonderful! Location is amazing right at the base of the mountain (30 sec drive or less than 10 min walk). the apartment is comfortable and a great space with everything we needed, separate entrance, private driveway, fully furnished, large living space, large bedroom, tons of storage/bureaus/closet, sizable bathroom, and a smart tv available with games for hanging out! the snow and weather report left on the fridge and check-in treat was extra special!

    Caitlin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! Great communication, great location, clean, and cozy. Overall, a lovely apartment and a great place to stay.

    Susan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • K&K were extremely accommodating! Location was awesome, cozy and spotless! Would not hesitate staying there again😃

    Laurie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • K & K was a perfectly nice getaway spot for some skiing/boarding at Sunday River; comfy, cozy and everything we needed to cook at home. It felt nice and private even with Kelli and Kenny living right upstairs. We will definitely see if this is available next time we visit!

Our cozy Hill House has always been a safe, welcoming space. Looking for a place to hunker down? Due to the Covid-19, the Hill House is available for a month or more and we are offering a discount of 55% to a one month rental. The Hill House sleeps up to 4 comfortably. Fast and reliable internet, full stocked kitchen, east social distancing. Flannel sheets.
This handcrafted cabin offers a woodsy Maine setting, inside and out. Located at the base of Mt. Abram, the cabin has woods stretching to Mt. Abram outback. Bethel is just just 6 miles away and 15 minutes to Sunday River. While you are a guest, we hope you feel at home in the Hill House. We prefer to allow guests to have private time at the house. Guests can check-in and out independently, and directions will be provided when a reservation is confirmed. The Hill House is comfortable, cozy and charming. The main floor has pine walls and flooring, with peaceful views of the woods, and a babbling brook (during spring and after rains) is within earshot. The main floor is open concept. The house feels private, with a view of woods behind the house. The second floor has a master bedroom with a queen bed, and the second larger "dorm" room has another sitting area with TV/DVD/streaming. The dorm room has two twin beds. The house is knotty pine on the first floor. On demand hot water. Spiffy kitchen. Fast internet. Quiet. Summer heat? The Hill House is very well insulated against het and cold. So open the windows at night for cool mountain breezes. There are plenty of fans to more the air through the cabin. The Hill House is on Howe Hill Road, and our guests often remark that once inside the Hill House it feels private and quiet. All of the windows in the living spaces face the sides and back of the house, which are wooded areas with a family farm next door. The Greenwood area is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast. The house is within close walking distance to the Main Lodge of Mt. Abram (adjacent, really) with wonderful hikes or walks. At the base of Howe Hill Road (1 mile), the Hub has hourly rentals for kayaks and canoes to explore South Pond and North Ponds in Greenwood. Great for swimming, fishing, looking for frogs and lazy days. For a listing of lovely hikes and challenging hikes in the area go to the "Visit Bethel Maine" website. Greenwood has easy access to the three lakes of Locke Mills: Round Pond, North Pond and South Pond...the three lakes are all connected for delightful exploring by water or easy explorations by road. A public boat access is less than one mile down the hill from the Hill House and canoe/kayak rentals are available at the Local Hub. A summer public swimming beach on the pond is minutes away. The Androscoggin River is five minutes away, with riverside walking trails and stretches of river with public access for kayaking or canoeing. Many adventures can be accessed through the Bethel, Maine website: rockhounding at a sluice and mineral mine, fat bike and mountain bike rentals, fishing, horseback riding, golf...spa treatments. At Sunday River in the summer, there is LOTS of action: zip-lining, bike parks, LL Bean Schools. Howe Hill Road in Greenwood was the birthplace of Leon Leonwood Bean in 1872, and from this area you can roam in the same woods and waters where L.L. Bean learned his skills as a hunter, fisherman, and woodsman. Not interested in being outdoors? Drive minutes away to Bethel and explore the shops and restaurants while strolling Main Street. Bethel is the home of our national poet laureate, Richard Blanco, author of the inaugural poem "One Day." You can take a short hike to the trail named "One Day" at the base of Mt. Abram. North Conway is a 60 minute drive, with a mecca of shops. The White Mountains, Mt. Washington, Santa's Village, and endless adventures are all within one hour away.
The Hill House is adjacent to the Mt Abram Main Ski Lodge.
  • This cabin was everything and more than what I expected from the listing! It is beautifully decorated and appointed. We loved the coziness and feel of a cabin, especially with the pellet stove, but also loved having all the comforts of home. The location is fantastic with its close proximity to the mountain. Eliza Jane is a great host and is very quick to respond to any questions. We had a wonderful stay!

    Carole2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and cozy cabin ready for a great ski weekend. About 20 minutes away from Sunday River which was perfect and had a great time. Eliza was very responsive on the few questions we had.

    Cody2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is the perfect winter getaway! Situated at the base of Mt. Abram, you are a 3-minute walk to a terrific mountain for beginner and intermediate skiers & riders, while the more challenging Sunday River is a short 25-minute drive away. We loved the early breakfasts in the sunny kitchen, sitting at the picture window and looking westward up at Mt. Abram's ski slopes. The cabin is warm and cozy, and is flooded with wonderful light throughout the day. Eliza is a very communicative and accommodating host, and the check-in / out process was seamless. We look forward to seeing the cabin in the summer and fall seasons, as the area has so much to offer for outdoor enthusiasts.

    Eric2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place to stay for skiing at Sunday River! Loved everything about Eliza’s cozy cabin, check in was a breeze, the stay was everything we needed... a great place to unwind, cook, play oldschool board games etc. and check out was great due to Eliza’s awesome flexibility as our host. This bed, by the way, is literally what your Maine winter flannel dreams are made of. Loved the heated blanket to get things toasty before bed, and how incredibly comfortable the down llbean pillows, and memory foam mattress were. These sleeping accommodations knocked it out of the park. Go to the kitchen at the end of the road, bring an extra $50 to shop organic foods and local artisan goods, prints, and artwork. And be sure to stop at the freshwater spring and fill your bottles up on the way out, that’s some delicious H2O. This was the best getaway. We will totally be back!

    Emilee2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely love this cabin, this was our second stay! The pellet stove makes it so cozy and is super easy to use. Eliza is such a wonderful host, very responsive. Looking forward to coming back soon!

    Carolyn2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy cabin with great location next to Mt Abram and Eliza Jane was responsive! Would highly recommend.

  • This is a super cute and cozy cottage in a great location to ski Mt Abram and Sunday River. We had an easy check in and a comfortable stay. Thanks, Eliza!

Had the chance to watch snow fall over Bethel Common, then walk across the street the next day for some awesome cross-country skiing at Bethel Inn. The creative artwork and book collection was a thought-provoking bonus. Thanks Regina!

  • The right balance of “shabby” and “chic”! Perfect for a solo or couple stay. Apartment has everything you need for a basic comfortable stay, and the loft set-up is very charming. Location in the heart of Bethel is perfect for walking around the town and easy driving access to ski slopes.

    Rachel2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Regina's space is clean, comfortable and conveniently located in downtown Bethel. The loft provides a nice area for sleeping. The apartment is airy and well appointed. We did not have any problem with noise from neighbors, even though it is stated that the walls are thin between apartments. We have stayed here twice and will continue to check for it's availability when we are in the area.

    David2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Regina's place was in an amazing location, directly next to the Bethel in and a short walk to downtown with all the shops and restaurants. Her place was clean and she use very quick to respond to any questions I had. I would definitely return.

The Burrow is a studio cottage on a private, 4 acre property set between two other buildings under quiet renovation to become a wellness retreat center. www.patchmountain.com It's bordered by a vibrant river, deep woods and an occasionally traveled mountain road. Access to 100 miles of conservation trails for hiking, X-skiing and snowshoeing is a 5 min. walk. The Town of Bethel is 12 mi. and an easy 25 min. drive north. Mt. Abram & Sunday River Ski Resorts are also in convenient proximity.
The grounds are open and guests are encouraged to explore! On the property there is a wooded trail that follows the river downstream. During the colder winter months you can walk, snowshoe or X-country ski the frozen river out to Hicks Pond. It's a beautiful morning trip facing the sun. Evening stargazing and relaxation around the fire pit is recommended. Wood is complimentary. The cabin is maintained with best effort toward eco-responsibilty. The space is clean and natural. I request that guests be mindful of their use of strongly scented products as many people have chemical sensitivities.
Local Hub Market & Cafe is a 15 min. drive away.
  • Michelle's cottage was clean, cozy and perfect for our needs. The location was peaceful while still in close proximity to stores and restaurants. Michelle provided detailed information about the cottage and was quick to respond to messages. We hope to return some day!

    Danielle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place to relax, recharge, feel at peace and disconnect this is it! Michelle has decorated and made the cottage being a very welcoming, cozy place! It is small but absolutely more than enough for 2 people! It has everything you might need for cooking and/or having some coffee in the morning so I would recommend bringing groceries because you might not want to leave the place and drive to a restaurant. The place is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by forest and if you go in the winter, tons of snow! We did a little walk in the morning (per Michelles's suggestion) and it was just us in Winter Wonderland, it was incredible. Michelle was really attentive and responded to all my questions right away. The palce was sparkling clean and warm when we arrived. She also gave us a list of recommendations/suggestions of things to do which we really appreciated! I would say this is a perfect spot for either a romantic gateaway or if you want to go away to a peaceful place for a bit. I will say that if you have AT&T the service goes on and off, which to us wasn't bothersome because it actually helped us disconnect but if you need to be available that might be a challenge. Michelle does have wifi though. In other words, a lovely experience and great host!

    Valentina2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Notch was a fantastic experience for my girlfriend and I. We spent a night there while on our way up to Montreal. The house was extremely cozy with a warm aura, and the bed was among the comfiest I have ever laid in. Michelle is a phenomenal host! She was very responsive to all of our questions, making sure that we had everything that we needed for a cozy night in. In addition, she is extremely warm and accommodating, making our stay that much better! I would definitely stay there again and recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Set on the River in a “potato field,” as the locals describe it, Ferry Landing is the original site of the the Hanover town ferry. An abundance of sunlight warms the open meadow.
The cabin is a separate building from the main house. Originally a workshop, the space has been converted to a large sunny studio, with a separate sleeping space. There is an open living room and kitchen with stainless appliances. The “bedroom” is set off the main area, and connects to the bathroom.
The property is set on the Androscogin River with access to Hanover town boat ramp next door, you can walk with your kayak, canoe, or SUP in 5 minutes. Howard Pond, a local swimming hole, is less than 2 miles away. The cabin is on Ferry Road, which parallels route 2, only 15 minutes to Sunday River and the village of Bethel.

  • If you are looking for a charming historic bed and breakfast, this is the place. The pub closes at 10 so you are not going to be bothered by customers downstairs. The location is very close to downtown. The dinner was amazing, breakfast was cute...the customer service is great. There was everything thought of for comfort upstairs. Personal space heaters, ACs, towel hamper, extra blankets, sound and light canceling window covers, etc. The best part was the flexible check in and check out time!

    Regan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tremendous location for skiing access. Room was very clean and surprisingly quiet given there is a small bar downstairs. Comfortable beds. Hosts were very friendly and accessible. The bar/restaurant downstairs was a very convenient. Food was tremendous and the menu varied. Hot breakfast in the AM was a nice way to start the day.

    John2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great location for people staying in the Bethel area. All the employees and staff are very helpful and friendly. Having the pub downstairs is great on nights that you do not want to go out. The food was great for both dinner and breakfast I would definitely recommend taking a close look at if staying in the area.

    Brad2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This inn has a wonderful, British style pub right in the same building! The food was excellent and the service phenomenal. Our room had been updated recently with a great mattress, whirlpool tub, microwave and mini-refrigerator. Everything was spotless and the location was quiet. We will plan to spend more nights here another trip.

    Elizabeth2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Inn was a great find! We were attending a wedding in town and the location was perfect. The check in/out process was smooth and it was convenient to have the key code on the door so we didn't have to worry about keeping track of keys. The rooms are just as pictured and have a cozy vintage feel. Breakfast was awesome! (Just make sure you leave yourself enough time to enjoy it because everything is cooked fresh to order for each guest.) We would definitely recommend this place if you're staying in Bethel.

    Aaron2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and adorable B&B close to Sunday River. Clean rooms with amazing dinner options. I lived in London for a Summer and the food at the Inn was as good if not better than what I had while in London! The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend staying here!

    Danielle2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Dani was an amazing host--local tips, great conversation, a warm and inviting space. I can't wait to go back!

    Liza2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The food is outstanding and we were happy to be able to enjoy a lovely dinner right at the inn. The hospitality was excellent, every detail was considered and no request went unmet. We will definitely stay here again.

PEACEFUL/ADVENTURE CAMP experience! (Boston to ME, only 3 hours.) Streaked Mtn. has a winter snowmobile trail, good for hiking, skis, bikes too...closed to types of vehicles that dig up the road. The Great cabin is a unique, 3 unit cabin deep up into the forests! Go hike East/West side. 1/2 hr ..explore 360 degree Mt. top views or go down to, when in season, the waterfall+historical places. Also read the off grid Glamping ME. Camp listing in Buckfield Maine too. ..Both same “Fun in FUNky”cabin!!
Off Grid: Mountain Camp for private outdoor fun and adventure! (Can drive in now)Or use it as a Writers UNBLOCK Retreat! Rent for a week, week end or a month. There is a library. Quiet and Flexible location! View from the cupola see the sun rise.. Look across Maine to the East Coast! A really cool totally outdoorsy, back country kind of place! Idea: Fat bikes are Off road bicycles with fat, balloon like tires. Rent bikes in Norway, Me. ....Park on MacCallister Road .. bike up onto Streaked Mtn. Then bike into this mountain camp location plan a group to do Fat bike gatherings.. or a treasure hunt, competition ride week end with your group (possible to arrange ahead of time) and explore the mountain roads. Someone could start a training camp of any kind and use this place as a base camp. Next idea: Right boots, warm gear,, etc...sleeping bags are handy ( but beds are made) for larger groups. Haul stuff in toboggans in the snow season and bike or back pack only (40 minutes walking) less than two miles in winter, wetter or dryer seasons. Owner or staff goes with you as guides. For agreed upon concierge service fees, will help you with or do the cooking, dishes and cleaning up so you can do more outside fun activities or just rest. The site is OFF Grid with no running water. Owner trains you how to eventually run the wood stove and the safety systems. After tained and you like it, you can return with your friends. Sleeps 6-8-10. Many different space use options: Other group use ideas: Group retreats, maybe think of this site as a sober retreat or maybe "sustainable living project's" site as well as being a 4 season RETREAT place. Also a great place for teenagers or phone addicts to learn about and have an "off grid" experience with their family. Or are you needing a big break from the rat race? This site/place can calm you down! It is so far quiet and peaceful at the cabin.( Please use ear pods if doing music. ) Owner started building the site at age 22, knows the back woods trails and can get you an official Maine Guide if you want one. MEDIA : Methods Encouraging Determined Individuals Alternatives! “We rest your toes while you rest your souls.” Inside the cabin space you rent are two kitchen areas, 1 double futon, 1 Q nice “green avocado” bed alongside a 7 foot window, a long twin cot bed, plus two single couch beds and a foam mat bed. Tons of room for tents in the field. The cabin sits on a five acre field! You rent the entire upstairs, Q, D, S beds and part of downstairs. Trudy runs the wood stove and stays in a soundproof separate quarters with private entrance, apartment like area out back called "down in the rabbit hole!" (In winter we all use the same door.) Surround deck. Fire pit. 20 minute hike to summit of Streaked Mountain. Highest mountaintop in Southern Maine with a 360 degree !view
My neighbors are Horse Riding Farms, retired and other people who have a distant cabin on the Mtn. This location is circa 1834. There is a lot of History here in the mountain!
  • This place is a super Unique "one of a kind of experience"...a great funky place Not upsale as you can see from the pics Its Totally back woods Maine with a wood stove and pine sided rooms. Its a terrific place to enjoy the outdoors and hike or ski . It felt like I was deep in the forest, and almost to the mountain's summit; yet, I was close to everything just located up above it all. The Owner is totally around to help and guide with settling in and running the cabin's systems. She is really nice and helpful. Its a Very relaxed feeling kind of place. Very Quiet, with lots of great views. You can even watch the sun rise from the cabin's cupola up on top of the house and look all the way across to distant parts of Maine. My i phone 5c worked fine, in this wilderness hideaway. And you can check out ...The local sauna down off the Mountain It was fun to go to afterwards to shower etc. on my way out/ transitioning back to everyday life. If you are looking for a Maine Experience ......this is it!

    Abby2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cascades Condo. This was our second time staying with Maine Ski Lodging and they kept their reputation for having clean, well supplied condos. We had comfy beds, ample towels and cookware, starter supplies and simple things like dish and hand soap, paper towels, salt and pepper. These little things make life easier when you arrive and just want to SKI! Location can’t be beat. We parked our second car down the road in overflow parking with no problem. And got a jump start from the Maine Ski owner for our truck after a week of cold weather and interior light on drained the battery. Talk about exceeding expectations! Thanks Maine Ski Lodging. We will be back.

    Justine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location right next to the Chondola! Truly ski in/ski out, and the guest ski locker is right next to the door closest to the slopes. Seems like it gets a lot of use so the condo itself was a bit run down, but completely acceptable for a ski weekend. They provided plenty of shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc! The hot tub was slightly disappointing since it was a little old/shabby, but we only used it once so it wasn’t a big deal. Overall this condo is a good value for a great location!

    Morgan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Justin was an excellent host! We came in late and he still was there to answer any of our questions. Super nice guy and was totally blown away by his renovation work on the house! Each piece of the farmhouse has a special handmade touch that I could not help but adore. Definitely going to be coming back ! The scenic views were so memorable and the bakery down the street from us was definitely reason alone to come back

This beautiful log styled home is in the mountains of the Sunday River Ski Resort Area as well as the beautiful village of Bethel. Just a few short minutes from Sunday River Ski Resort. The home sits in the peaceful mountains of the Sunday River area. This room is located upstairs with an ensuite bathroom. Includes a lovely homemade breakfast to get your day started right! If this is booked look at the rooms, Mountain Room and Will View.
I try to make people feel at home, as though they were visiting friends. Feel free to sit on the deck and enjoy the view or the delightful screen room. The room offers a coffee maker and a microwave, with a selection of coffee and teas for your enjoyment. Just off the bedroom, the ensuite bathroom has a lovely wide stand up shower with seats and plenty of linens, a hair dryer, and baskets filled with most anything you may have forgotten.
My home is located directly off the Sunday River access road in a peaceful mountain neighborhood.
  • What an amazing experience! I was a bit hesitant because this was my first time staying at a shared place. However, Lisa immediately made us feel welcome and her hospitality was top notch! Her breakfasts were so yummy and convenient before we went skiing. The resort at Sunday River was less than a 5 minute drive away. Perfect location and experience. I will definitely book again!

  • We were returning after staying with Lisa a previous ski season and it was just as great as we remembered. Ideal location for a trip to Sunday River, but feels as if you're in your own space at the same time. The animals are very friendly and add to the positive experience. Hoping to return again very soon!

RATES VARY BY SEASON. This apartment & its spectacular mountain views is located on Blank Slate Farm, a small private farm in a quiet country setting. We are just 5 minutes from Paris Hill Country Club. There are many great trails just minutes away. Day trips can be made to many other areas, including the coast or the White Mountains. You will have use of a private garage. Spend summer evenings on the deck enjoying amazing sunsets. This is also the perfect place for a romantic getaway!
Not only are the views amazing, the apartment is spacious and comfortable as well. The small galley style kitchen is simple but functional, and has a pantry for all your storage needs. There is a large dining room with a cathedral ceiling, cozy living room with cable TV and dvd player, a three season porch, & a large deck. The bedroom has a split king adjustable bed with massage, room darkening shades, a walk-in closet with luggage racks, plenty of drawers & hangers and full bathroom with laundry. Each room has its own thermostat (note: heating only, there is no air conditioning) and shades on every window. This in-law apartment is attached to the main house, but has it's own private driveway, entrance, garage and deck. The entrance is via the garage and up a staircase to the floor above. The windows of the main house do overlook the deck and back of the apartment, but you will still have all the privacy you want inside. There is no connecting door between the apartment and the house, and the only shared walls are along the three season porch, so there is very little sound carry over between units.
The neighborhood is generally quiet (with the exception of an occasional barking dog) Located about 10 minutes from downtown South Paris, it's far enough from town to be quiet, but close enough to shop and eat out. The local area has many great places to eat and things to do. We're 5 minutes from Paris Hill Country Club. There are hiking/skiing/snowshoeing trails close by, and snowmobile trails 1/2 mile away. We are less than 30 minutes from Mt Abram Ski Resort, and 40 minutes from Sunday River Ski Resort. There are several other resorts within an hour drive, including Lost Valley, Spruce Mountain Ski Slope, Shawnee Peak & Black Mountain. There are many other great activities nearby as well. Check our guide book for ideas. We also keep local tourist information and trail maps in a notebook on the TV stand. We are also located about 15 minutes from Stephen's Memorial Hospital and invite traveling nurses, doctors and students training for the medical field to take advantage of our discounts for stays of a month or longer.
  • Very peaceful, clean, and private! The house was spotless and had everything we needed, and the surrounding area was absolutely beautiful. Communicating with Heather was quick, detailed, and incredibly helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough. I wish I could’ve stayed for several more nights!

  • Wow what a view! The setting is amazing. The place is open, airy and very spacious. It has everything you need. Having the garage was a huge bonus with the winter time weather. I strongly recommend this Airbnb for anyone who wants to sit back and relax after a day of exploring this great region of Maine.

  • Nice stay and spot for Sunday River skiing!

    Clare2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's guest suite was a perfect weekend rental for our group visiting Sunday River to ski. The home is a short drive from the mountain and nearby restaurants, and was a bit more spacious than the photos appear. The suite is connected to the main home so it was easy to get in touch with her when we needed to! We did not initially realize the kitchenette did not include any stove for cooking breakfast, but Susan provided K cup coffee, waters, and oatmeal instead which was great! The living space was cozy and the bedrooms very comfortable, I would recommend packing an extra comforter or blanket for the upstairs bedroom as it got a bit chilly up there overnight.

    Jackie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place is a great. Our checking was easy and communicated clearly. Space was very comfortable and super clean.

    Jon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful stay at Susan's place on our Sunday River Ski vacation! It was extremely clean and cozy and very comfortable. Susan's extra special touches added charm and made us feel right at home. The location is lovely - it's in the country but a very short drive to Sunday River and the town of Bethel where there are several wonderful restaurants and taverns. We would absolutely recommend staying here any time of the year and hope to return!

    Deb2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s house was great! We used it while skiing with our 2 kids, both under 5, and they loved it. It’s 10 minutes to Sunday River and 5 to restaurants in Bethel. Susan was very communicative and couldn’t have been nicer.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay near Sunday River. Susan made our family feel right at home. We would definitely stay at the guest house again.

    Bennett2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm and cozy place with comfortable beds. Close to Sunday River Ski Resort (13 min drive).

    Molly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was awesome for a ski trip to Sunday river! super nice location, cozy, and enough space for two couples to spread out. Susan went above and beyond to try to clean the space when I mentioned I had some pet allergies. She was very welcoming and friendly. I would totally recommend staying here. However, despite the effort, there is still some lingering pet dander, so just be aware if you’re an allergy sufferer. If not, this place is amazing and a great Airbnb!

  • Great place. Katrina was very helpful with local restaurant suggestions. Also loved the little touches...cookies and fruit. Will certainly return.

    Robert2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at Katrina's BNB. It was perfect for skiing at Sunday River, check in was a breeze, and there were no issues. I would definitely stay again.

  • Katrina’s place was such a quaint, cozy place for an overnight stay and ski trip at Sunday River. Everything that you could possibly need is right there and the beds are very comfy.

    Chandler2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Katrina was such a lovely host from beginning to end! We stayed here only for the weekend but she made sure we had everything we needed, and made sure we got comfortable! She had apples and oranges and some popcorn and oatmeal waiting for us! Along with OJ, eggs, grapes, water bottles, bread and bagels, and even some coffee creamer in the fridge when I forgot mine at home, like she read my mind! My boyfriend and I love to cook together so she left her own waffle maker and a brand new box of waffle mix for us too! The bed was so comfortable it made the end of the long days that must better. She left shampoo and conditioners and a cleanser and even extra toothbrushes in the bathroom as well. I will definitely be coming back, what a memorable experience, thank you!!

    Brianna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katrina's place was perfect for our weekend skiing at Sunday River! It's about 30 minutes from the resort and just a lovely cozy home. We were quite comfortable throughout our stay and Katrina even left some breakfast items for us in the morning which was so thoughtful! The place was very clean and homey and we would absolutely stay again!

    Brianna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 nights at Katrina's house while we were in Rumford to spectate some nordic ski races at Black Mountain. Katrina is a very caring, thoughtful, attentive, and generous host. Her home is cozy and warm (we were there on some VERY cold days), with plenty of sunshine streaming in, and space to spread out, hang out, etc. Katrina provides an excellent assortment of pillows and blankets for the extremely comfortable beds, so you can fully personalize your sleeping environment (we all slept VERY well). The neighborhood is quiet and residential, with friendly neighbors. The kitchen is adequate for preparing simple meals, which we did while the 3 of us were there. Katrina leaves a very generous amount of snacks and handy food items for her guests: fruit, coffee (and cream), bottled water, orange juice, bagels and cream cheese, butter, salt and pepper, crackers, instant oatmeal, etc -- you won't go hungry! We will be return guests if/when we return to Rumford.

    Ursula2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Katrina’s Airbnb was perfect. It’s right in Rumford located in the heart of a couple ski resorts. It was very clean, homey, and the beds were so comfortable! Would very much recommend!
