Wow what can I say. This was a wonderful stay! From the beginning we had great instructions and walked in to find a clean and welcoming home. After meeting the host the kids enjoyed feeding the cat and all of the toads, sheep, and chickens! We enjoyed listening to the frogs at night and bbqing dinner with the beautiful view. The kids especially enjoyed their Easter treats which the host graciously supplied. We had a great time at your home and had a great time chatting with you and exploring the island. The house was perfect spotless and peaceful; we felt at home! We can’t wait to visit again. Mahalo!

Joe’s place was our favourite Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The place is modern, clean and spacious. Joe has gone out of his way to cover every little detail. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Kona!

Wow. What a spectacular place. A true eco-jungle-lodge-type experience. The location, the home, the host's communication and aloha spirit - everything was fantastic. Highly recommend 4WD / AWD car for the driveway, although we made it work with a sedan (kind of comical, actually). We are an adventurous family of four adults (2 grown kids) that likes experiences and lodging that would be the opposite of a cruise ship or resort. This place was perfect for us. We will be back!

this place is more than described. it is amazing , quite, unique property. beautiful place and such earthy, green environment. the night life simply becomes alive at night and all the night sounds just put you into a peaceful sleep. the amazing dunking pool was spectacular and huge hit with my kiddos. the hot tubs are amazing as well. we are so very happy with our stay.

We will rent this home again if we are back to the Big Island! We really enjoyed the different spaces. The interior was open concept and a great gathering space. The lanai porch was peaceful and very pleasant mornings and evenings. The outdoor shower and hot tub was a great space for small groups to gather.

Had a really enjoyable few days stay at the house. This is clearly a house with lots of love, history and almost feels like you're staying with family. Lots of character and very traditionally furnished with unique furniture, artwork ect. Very much suits someone looking for a true Hawaiian experience off the tourist trail. The outdoor area is beautiful and the view is incredible. The hot tub is a nice addition and great for star gazing at night. The kitchen is well equipped with all cooking equipment you would need and the bbq outside was a great. We were slightly worried about the lack of a/c but as the sun goes down, you get a lovely cool sea breeze throughout and we wouldn't have needed it anyway. There is loads of wildlife around the house and area, very pieceful. Thank you

Lovely place to stay right outside the park! Loved the back porch area- so peaceful to enjoy the evenings and mornings there in between all our hiking and activities for the day. Pamela and Kenzie were great hosts and very communicative. Would definitely recommend this spot to others :)

Have stayed here several times in different units. It works well for us. If you find older reviews complaining about the water pump being loud its no longer an issue. It was updated recently.

Our stay at Todd's place was amazing! It's centrally located on the west coast of the Big Island, between Kona and Captain Cook, which was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Kona, but a short drive to popular spots. It was also walking distance from the Keauhou Bay, where most snorkeling/boat tours operated, making our night snorkel tour with the manta rays incredibly accessible. The only note is that the Airbnb is a unit within a timeshare community, and while that elevated the overall experience by having staff to assist and clean, they do attempt to sell you on purchasing a timeshare at check-in. You'll just need to decline politely, but firmly, and they won't ask again. All in all, we would definitely stay at Todd's place again and recommend it to anyone visiting the island of Hawai'i!

Rhonda and Jeff were fantastic hosts! Their place was modern, spotless, cozy, and so thoughtfully set up. The small AC unit was surprisingly powerful—as long as the room door stayed open and the ceiling fan was on low, it stayed perfectly cool. They thought of everything: beach gear (chairs, towels, snorkels), bug spray, even an umbrella by the door. The bed was super comfortable, hot water was reliable, and the assigned parking spot was large and convenient. My husband also appreciated the outdoor cloths for cleaning gear. It’s a bit of a drive from Hilo and Keaau, so a vehicle is needed, but otherwise, it was a smooth and enjoyable stay. We’d absolutely recommend this Airbnb and would happily come back. Rhonda and Jeff are such thoughtful and lovely hosts—thank you both for your warm hospitality!

This was such a wonderful place to disconnect from the busy world. The freshly grown tangerines were delicious. The kitchen was great, the overall vibe of the house was very relaxing. When we walked in we started to immediately relax. Sally was very responsive. Definitely a unique and relaxing experience

Spacious and well stocked Airbnb. Really nice touches with a few snacks and drinks provided and plenty of towels and kitchen amenities. The place is a bit dated but clean and the main bed was very comfortable. The pullout sofa in the living room is extremely uncomfortable if you’re planning to have anyone sleep there. I didn’t reach out to the host about it so maybe they could have provided a foam topper or something else for it. If you’re looking to have anyone sleep adults sleep out there I would check with the host to see if they can provide something to make it more comfortable since it was harder than a futon to sleep on. Overall good value for the price and convenient location.

We had an amazing stay! The apartment was so spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. We loved watching the horses from the lanai and having Buddy the dog greet us everyday when we arrived back. We felt like we had the best spot on the island to watch the sunset. The sounds of the coqui frogs at sunset was absolutely amazing and so relaxing to fall asleep to. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped for self catering and it was really helpful having some things in the cupboards like spices, oil, syrup, etc. We were so sorry when it was time for us to leave!

Mary Lee was the absolute best. Her communication was excellent, she was kind and timely and with her responses and truly went above and beyond to make me, my husband and my parents comfortable. Condo fully stallked and clean. Thank you Mary Lee!

Great place to stay with kids! The one bedroom unit was very spacious. It was tidy, free of clutter, and felt safe. Kitchen came equipped with all the things we needed to cook meals for ourselves. Appreciated the packets of coffee and cleaning supplies!

Loved staying here. We wanted exactly what we got. Private, green, cozy, adventurous. Loved it. A great get-way for people who like to explore and be just a bit crunchy.

The pictures on the site don’t do it justice!! The views from here were fantastic! I loved the sounds of sheep and frogs at night. Even in a drought the place is magical! One additional note- this home is spotless. With all the natural wood I would have expected a little dust or a cobweb- and it was shiny and clean!!

One word to describe this property was “breathtaking!” I didn’t realize I was getting a jungle resort! This property had character at every stop…cabin, private lanai, hot tub, pool, sunrise/sunset deck with ocean view, outdoor kitchen, outdoor showers…. I enjoyed watching the wild pigs and roosters frequent our fenced in view, as well as petting Psych (one of many) tame cats. We enjoyed eating fresh mango and bananas off the trees! We look forward to bringing our entire family back to this home away from home! Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us! Hands down this property beats any condo or resort with it’s charm and island feel!

Holly’s Place was very beautiful and secluded and serene. We loved the surrounding forestry and the amenities! She was very communicative and brought us some yummy fresh eggs! We enjoyed our short stay and highly recommended it. Well worth the price. Yes the roads here in Hawai’i are pretty treacherous. Just follow her instructions well and it’ll be no problem to get there.

I am more than happy about my stay here in mangoland. Laura is extremely friendly and has a wonderful little paradise in mangoland that she shared with us. I grew up on a ranch off grid, so this was very perfect for me and being IN THE JUNGLE was unreal. As a chef, the kitchen had all of the basics that I needed to cook home cooked meals every morning and night. The cabin was clean and the mattress was the comfiest mattress I have ever slept on. The outdoor shower was so relaxing and the water temp was perfect every time. Waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle was truly unreal. Staying here really made me realize what my life would look like living off grid on the big island, and I loved every second of it. My brain feels rewired after my stay here.

I had an amazing stay at Rachel’s cottage. It was perfect for my needs of working remote early in the AM (solid internet) and enjoying the serene surroundings in the afternoon/evening. The lava field/ocean cliffs right behind the place are super special and I found myself wandering there more than expected, even at night for incredible stargazing. Rachel is a super kind host, very communicative and you can tell she’s a good person. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

Spooky - in all the right ways! We rented this cabin as a quiet place to enjoy our 15th wedding anniversary. It was exactly what we wanted: quiet, private, lovely and relaxing. And because we are both into the mystical, the paranormal, and the spiritual - we were also very intrigued by the inherent spookiness of the place! The cabin is big and dark and because we arrived close to dark, it was very reminiscent of The Shining. lol! We were grateful for the caretaker Doug’s presence that night! He was very friendly and helpful in assuaging all our ghost-filled thoughts. Ha! Of course, the following day when the beautiful sunshine and the steady breeze flowed in the open windows, we saw the place for what it really was: a lovely cabin in the woods. We really enjoyed being able to rent such a big place for just the two of us. The architecture alone is worth the stay… so much to look at! We are local so we weren’t there to go to beaches and see waterfalls. We got exactly what we wanted!
