Peace and quiet

Park view

Soak up the view during your stay.
Rise in the treetops of the sacred pine forest, top off your tea and wander to the peaceful lake, or settle by the fire ring with your favorite people and playful dogs at your feet. Nap in a hammock, gather for s’mores and stories, then slip into the Old Time Tin Hot Tub for starlit soaks. Our whimsical 2-story treehouse, just an hour from St. Louis on 70 private acres, sleeps 9 in 7 cozy beds with a funky, colorful vibe. Breathe, let go, and renew your soul in Mother Nature’s embrace.

The space
You deserve to feel at peace.
You’ll immerse your soul in the sights, sounds, and joys of Mother Nature while staying in a whimsical, fully furnished, eclectic 2-story treehouse. One guest wrote: “This has by far been the most thoughtful and attentive Airbnb we’ve ever attended… my partner and I truly needed this magical space to reconnect. Nature grounded us, and the treehouse rekindled our childlike spirit.”

The treehouse has a unique personality with something fun for everyone. On the first floor, gather in the living room for games that spark laughter and connection. Curl up in the swing chair with a book, or cozy near the propane fireplace as stories unfold. A kitchenette and dining nook make meals simple and social, and a bathroom with a hot shower brings comfort to your forest retreat.

Up a sturdy custom wood ladder is the amazing loft where two live healing pine trees rise through the roof. We wrap them during storms to keep guests dry. The loft is everyone’s favorite hangout — hammocks invite afternoon naps, skylights open to the stars, and seven cozy beds ensure restful nights. Expect the gentle hoot of owls, the crow of roosters, and a loyal dog keeping watch outside.

Outside, experiences unfold. Roast FREE s’mores at the fire ring, where stories flow, laughter rises, and hearts reconnect. Soak under the stars in the Old Time Tin Hot Tub — maybe play footsie while the fire crackles. Paddle across the serene 3-acre lake, or if the weather permits, walk the creek with the children, giggling as you splash through shallow pools. Sit quietly by the spring and dream about what you’ll manifest next. Wander the mostly wooded 70 acres, swing with abandon, or savor simple moments that turn into lifelong memories.

For those who feel inspired, Laura Lynne offers optional life mentoring sessions during your stay — for individuals, couples, or families — through her playful Tune in 2 Win system. Kids often jump in first, excited to learn a “secret language.” Parents say these gentle sessions ease stress and open new ways to connect.

On 70 private wooded acres with a lake, creek, and spring, serenity, laughter, and a sense of wonder await. Some cosmetic touches are still in progress, yet guests say the magic of The Magic Land far outshines them.

Guest access
We are here if you need anything. Please text, call, or ring the doorbell, and we’ll do our best to take care of your needs.

The Magic Land is Laura Lynne’s lifelong project — once an abandoned retreat center, now a place of joy and renewal. Some buildings are lovingly being rehabbed, while others are waiting their turn. Please stay clear of any work-in-progress areas and the old cabins down the hill.

Guests are welcome to explore nearly all of The Magic Land’s 70 private wooded acres — including the 3-acre lake, the spring, the creek, and plenty of forest paths and nooks. The only spaces not included are the area directly around our home (the Lodge) and the A-Frame, which is home to our caretaker. Thank you for respecting these boundaries for everyone’s safety and privacy.

Rules & Safety Notes
🌿 Parents must stay with their children at all times. Please never allow kids to wander alone to the lake, creek, or anywhere out of sight.
🌿 A walkie-talkie, cell phone, or other device is not a substitute for a parent, guardian, or safe companion.
🌿 Please treat unfinished buildings as strictly off-limits. They hold history and charm, but are not yet safe for exploring.

Other things to note
We truly love our guests and feel grateful for every person who chooses The Magic Land for their getaway. Most guests treat the Treehouse with care, and that makes it a joy to share. To keep the space magical for everyone, we ask that you leave it as you found it — dishes washed and put away, trash cleared from inside and around the fire ring, and furnishings returned to their place. Simple touches of mindfulness make a big difference.

House Guidelines

No pets.

Smoking and vaping are allowed outside only — never inside. Please collect all butts and do not put them in the fire pit.

Mindful drinking is fine, and safety is vital as we have steep stairs and a ladder in the Treehouse.

No drugs are allowed on the property except for medical use.

Make yourself at home with self-check-in, and reach out if you need anything — we are here for you.

Please honor the animals with love: no chasing, catching, or scaring. They are sweet companions when treated kindly.

Please honor our privacy as well.

Private Membership Association
The Magic Land is our home and is not open to the general public. To share this space while keeping it private and protected, we operate as a Private Membership Association. Your $15 membership fee is already included in your stay — there’s nothing extra to do except sign a simple Release Form upon arrival and bring it to the Lodge. This keeps the land safe, special, and private for members only, and we’re so grateful you are part of it.

Neighborhood highlights

We are in the country. You will drive past farms, cows, windy country roads and sunshine. We are 7 miles from the closest gas station and Dollar General. The Finish Line local diner has yummy food and they close early. Most guests either bring simple food, or make it an extravaganza grilling out and creating a feast.

The 2 closest towns are St. Clair and Cedar Hill. Most guests stop along the way at either Walmart in High Ridge or Save A Lot in St. Clair for groceries on the way.

We are on 70 very private acres. When also rent out our A-Frame which is in the woods and unseen from the Enchanted Treehouse. When you take a hike or fish at our 3 acre pond, you will likely be alone except for our 5 beautiful dogs and the neighbor's adorable dog Davey. They like to follow you on walks.

It's spectacular!
