Escape to Shepherd House, a peaceful two-bedroom cabin on a wooded working farm near Yosemite. Designed for up to four guests, the cabin includes two queen bedrooms, a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, heating, a kitchenette, and a private patio with outdoor cooking space. Enjoy quiet mornings, starry nights, friendly farm animals, and easy access to Oakhurst, Bass Lake, and Yosemite. In-person check-in is required so we can introduce you to our free-roaming dogs.
The space
Shepherd House is a cozy, solar-powered cabin surrounded by oak trees and natural woodland.
Inside, you’ll find:
• Two private bedrooms, each with a queen bed
• One private bathroom
• Wi-Fi
• Heating
• Ceiling and exhaust fans
• Refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker
• Private outdoor patio
• Outdoor grill and griddle
The cabin has a kitchenette rather than a full indoor kitchen. Guests preparing larger meals are welcome to use the outdoor cooking area.
Shepherd House is one of several guest accommodations on the property. Guests traveling together may reserve additional units, subject to availability.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire cabin and its patio.
Covered parking is available near the cabin. From the parking area, Shepherd House is reached by walking approximately 100 feet along a gravel path. Vehicles cannot drive directly to the cabin, but wagons are provided to help transport luggage.
Please do not block the front gate when arriving.
Downtown Oakhurst, including grocery stores and restaurants, is approximately five minutes away by car. Bring all food inside the cabin to avoid attracting wildlife.

Shepherd House is powered by solar energy, and water is supplied by a private well. We kindly ask guests to conserve electricity and water during their stay.
We provide environmentally appropriate shampoo and soap to help protect the property’s water system.
The cabin has heating but does not have air conditioning. A ceiling fan, exhaust fan, natural shade, and evening mountain air help circulate and cool the space.

The property is an active farm surrounded by forest. Guests should expect natural terrain, occasional dirt or dust, wildlife, insects, and encounters with friendly farm animals.
Our dogs roam freely and help protect the property and its animals. Shepherd House is best suited to guests who are comfortable around large dogs and enjoy an authentic rural environment.
