Nestled in the mountainside, two miles above downtown Breckenridge, the Blue Jay Nest is a truly unique getaway. This cozy, boho-chic home is a one of a kind gem offering sweeping views of the forest and ten mile range. Skip the monotony of condos and hotels, and enjoy an unforgettable stay at your own private retreat. Pets welcome (SEE FEE DETAILS BELOW).

The space
We are pleased to supply our guests with a variety of essentials to elevate the comfort and value of our home. The property comes stocked with a generous supply of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues), bathroom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, hand soap, air freshener, daily shower cleaner, designated make up towels), kitchen products (a variety of cleaning supplies, sponges, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, trash bags), and complimentary locally roasted coffee.

The home sleeps two guests. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom.

The living room has an electric fireplace for added heat and ambiance. There are also tons of books and board games for you to enjoy during your stay!

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to cook meals that can be enjoyed together in the dining area that seats four. Please note that there is no dishwasher and, all dishes are expected to be washed and put away prior to departure- this allows us to keep an affordable cleaning fee.

The bathroom is equipped with a deep, jetted tub- super nice for a relaxing soak after a long day on the slopes or hiking trails.

The deck offers great views of the mountains- the sunsets are unbeatable! There are a couple lounge chairs, a couple standard chairs and a brand new gas grill.

The laundry room is located in the basement of the home. In order to get to the basement, you must go down the exterior stairs from the deck. There is also tons of lockable storage space down here for your bikes, fishing gear, snowboards, skis, etc.

Main Street is a short five minute drive or the free bus picks up about 1/4 mile from the home.

During the summer and fall, several hiking and biking trails are accessible close-by.

PETS - Up to two, well-behaved dogs are permitted with an additional fee. The fee is $20 per night, per dog. Please specify if you plan on bringing a pet so that the fees can be adjusted accordingly.

ACCESS/PARKING - PLEASE NOTE THAT AWD or 4WD IS REQUIRED TO RENT THIS PROPERTY BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND APRIL. While the home is located on a maintained dirt road, 2WD is not permitted in the winter months. There is plenty of parking in the driveway for two vehicles.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home and yard with the exceptions of a couple locked owners closets in the basement. Please do not try to open the owners closets.

Other things to note
While we absolutely strive to provide the best experience possible for our guests, please note that this is not a brand new home or condo with the latest in modern appliances and furnishes. The Blue Jay Nest is a little quirky, but we love it and hope that you do too!

This is a high alpine area about two miles above the town of Breckenridge. The home is located on a private and quiet mountainside with great views and easy access to hiking/biking trails. It is only a five minute drive to historic, downtown Breckenridge where you will find an array of great dining and shopping experiences. Breckenridge is filled with creative little treasures that you will discover around every corner. Entertainment options are plentiful with lots of talented, local bands, the Breckenridge Backstage Theater, the Breckenridge Repertory Orchestra and more. Once you have enjoyed the liveliness of downtown, retreat to the Blue Jay Nest for some peace and quiet. We encourage you to leave the windows open in the summer to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the creek and take in the fresh mountain air.
