RahmaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed here for four days and we really had a great stay! Staying at their place really felt like home! I love that they have tons of books!! Their place is the best when you bring your kids here!! Even when you dont feel like exploring the neighbourhood, you'll have plenty things to do at home with the kids!!

Casa Tanana

DanielRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed at Casa Tanana in the spring. We had a great time. Seeing many birds and other wildlife out of the amazing atrium. It is close enough to Fairbanks to do activities there, but also on the way to Denali and Chena springs if you want to go on a big trip. The only regret we have is we couldn’t stay at this beautiful place longer.

Luxury Waterfront King 2 BR-HotTub

SaraRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We stayed here because we were vending at the Carlson Center for the Outdoor Show. This was such a great, quiet location for us. It's nestled in a residential neighborhood close to attractions and great eateries. After standing on our feet working the show, having a quiet place to relax and very comfortable beds was essential. There was only two of us, but I could see families enjoying their stay, here, as well. I would book again in a heartbeat!

Downtown Cottage in the Heart of Fairbanks

SarahRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Brenda’s cottage was such a gift and delight to stay in, as I was needing quiet and rest before meeting with friends a couple days later. The cottage is centrally located, walkable and bus friendly, with downtown and many eating options within 15 minutes. Living room and dining room were family friendly, and I was grateful to be able to host a friend for dinner one of the evenings in the warmth of the space. Extras of toiletries, blankets, cozy items available. Wifi was excellent for working remote. As a single person, I felt safe coming and going — and really appreciated Brenda allowing me to check in earlier. Washer and dryer in basement was icing on the cake. Absolutely recommend Brenda’s cottage, and would gladly request to be a guest again.

Chalet in the Hills

IvyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
All-around perfect stay! We wanted to stay off the beaten path, yet it was only a 10-minute drive to get wherever we wanted to go. The chalet was pristine- very clean, exactly as described, very cozy. Although it wasn't that cold in April (mid 40's), it was colder than our normal CA temps! We were toasty warm, comfortable and the amenities were first rate. All the comforts of home, comfy beds, plenty of towels, linens, blankets, etc. The deck and yard areas were perfect for hikes and sledding, which we did quite a bit of! Nicole's instructions, information book and helpful printed directions around the house made it easy and all instructions were clear and concise. May be going back to Fairbanks in August, and will definitely check the availability of this home again. I imagine the Summer months are even better with the outdoor amenities and surrounding areas. Thank you, Nicole!

Cozy Little Dipper

Sylvia Laabs -Rating, 5 stars1 month ago
Jenny was very communicative to any question I had prior to and during our stay. Beautiful spacious location. I’m sure it’s nice in the summer but for a winter Aurora visit, this is the place! We were there 4 nights and if the lights were dancing in the sky we saw them! We enjoyed sitting in the front or back yard - or hot tub - to watch the light show each night - and were happy we didn’t have to drive anywhere! If you’re planning to go to the Fairbanks area - it’s worth the short 20 minute drive to stay in North Pole!

Large, with breakfast and hot tub!

AmyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a wonderful 4 night stay. Our main goal was aurora watching, so a comfortable place to rest between late-night outings was a must. The apartment more than fit the bill! We felt cozy and right at home. Everything was clean, the hot tub was always warm, the breakfast items were much appreciated and we enjoyed the games and entertainment options. Brendan and Kelly were excellent hosts. We would not hesitate to return or to recommend to others!

Anita responded quickly and was very helpful. The place has lots of room and is cozy! Couch was extremely comfortable! Access to large TV with abilities to stream whichever platform of your choice. Having the ability to use a washer and dryer was so nice, even had options of detergent. Clean bedding and lots of options for sleeping. Kitchen had pots and pans and utensils. As well as plenty of dishes. There was provided fresh drinking water. Nice large dining room table to sit at. Everything was very clean. There were toiletries provided, which I found very useful and appreciated. The location was nice and quiet, and still close to most things around town. Will definitely be staying here again!

Your guide to Fairbanks

All About Fairbanks

The aurora borealis, midnight suns, and seemingly endless sunrises and sunsets paint vivid colors in the sky above Fairbanks, Alaska. The largest city in the state’s interior, Fairbanks is set against a backdrop of ancient mountain ranges, sparkling rivers and lakes, and abundant wildlife.

The city’s arty heart is the Paint the Pipes project — a cluster of decorated ventilation pipes between Barnette Street and Noble Street, ranging from floral designs to a tribute to the Alaskan wilderness. The Georgeson Botanical Garden, which spans five acres on the western edge of the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, showcases native state flora alongside fragrant fruit trees and a maze of scented roses.

Tubing and kayaking are popular ways to explore this gentle stretch of the Chena River, which snakes through the north of the city, while wildlife-spotting opportunities include beavers in the water and eagles overhead. Further out of town, you can cast a line for Arctic grayling just off Chena Hot Springs Road. And the city is a popular launchpad for exploring northern Alaska.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Fairbanks

The best time to consider cabin rentals in Fairbanks, Alaska is between May through September. The temperatures during these months range from crisp to balmy, with June and July warm enough for lighter clothes and hiking excursions. The city spends its summers outdoors, so keep an eye out for public events like the Golden Days in July, which celebrates the city’s Gold Rush history with parades, food, and races. After a short fall, winter sets in here in October and lasts through May; for much of that time, Fairbanks is covered over in snow and temperatures are bone-chillingly cold and dry. If you’re planning on spending any time outdoors, bring outerwear designed for extreme weather conditions. That said, October through December is the best time to visit if your goal is to see the Northern Lights.
