Charming 2-bedroom home, short walk from downtown

Jamy MayRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This townhouse and the amenities are exactly as described in the listing. There was plenty of room and it suited our needs perfectly. Our dog was welcome and he, too, seemed perfectly comfortable. The house setup makes it easy to take your dog out for a quick break or for a longer walk. They also offer a shared backyard, but our dog and the owner’s younger dog weren’t perfectly compatible through the fence so we didn’t choose to invade their space, but either way, it’s an easy setup if you travel with a canine. We were very busy on this trip, so we didn’t meet the owners, but they were responsive and helpful via text. We assume they are friendly based on the welcome packet and all the lovely little touches around the house.

The house is neat clean, big enough for a small group of people. It has all the essentials for cooking, showering and enjoy the house in the hot tub or fire pit if you don’t have an outdoor activity to do in the day. The neighborhood is very quiet and calm and hosts are very responsive. Definitely an excellent place to stay and enjoy your trip in Alaska.

We had a great time at Jana’s home. The location is awesome and so many amenities on site to include a great hot tub, backyard fire pit, board games inside, etc. Her place definitely felt like a home away from home from the start. We hope to be back to Fairbanks in the future and would definitely stay here again!

Chalet in the Hills

EmilyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Nicole’s home was a beautiful getaway if you’d like to visit Fairbanks. While we didn’t get to see any northern lights while we were there, the expanse out her front balcony is a beauty in itself. Getting up the driveway is no joke, for reference we had a minivan with FWD and snow tires and we were able to get up just fine with enough speed. Proximity to town is quite close. We had plenty of space for our kids to play and explore. Nicole has thought of everything when it comes to staying for a visit, there was really nothing we could’ve needed.

Absolutely amazing little space! The hosts were extremely easy and fast about communication, place was spotless with lots of love and care put into presentation, and the location was near nearby restaurants, gas stations, and sites (like the famous ice sculptures). We frequent Fairbanks often and will be requesting this location when available!

Waterfront Log Cabin*Airstrip*Cozy Aurora Views!

MaraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We loved the cabin! It was the perfect combo of Alaskan charm and luxury 🌲💅🏼 We saw the Northern lights from the back porch and it was glorious! Loved making fires in the wood stove and all the little nooks for cuddling up and reading or napping. Johanna even accommodated us by extending our booking by a night when our plans changed slightly! Location is convenient for getting to grocery store, restaurants, UAF, etc but still feels nestled away and cozy.

Luxury house with Lakeview and hot tub

JayRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had the best week ever in Lakeview Villa. 10/10 would recommend to anybody visiting Fairbanks. Phenomenal house, so accessible to every direction you could want to go. We saw the aurora every single night we were there, mostly without even having to leave home! Watching the aurora from the hot tub is a memory I will never forget.

Experience Lakeside Cabin Living in North Pole, AK

RobinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had such a great time staying at Deanna's place last March, we repeated it again this year. Curvy Birch is close to dogsledding and within 25 min of all the highlights of Fairbanks (Intnl Ice Carving Festival, hiking at Creamers Field, the Museum of the North, etc). But the best thing is being able to watch the aurora while lying in bed through all the cabin's windows! And Deanna kindly made up a pullout bed for us on the main floor as we are a bit elderly to climb up and down the ladder to the loft bed. We spent our evenings in at the cabin, which was fully equipped for cooking all of our meals. A warm loaf of banana chocolate chip bread is waiting for you in the kitchen. Can't wait to come back again!

The house was perfect for a family get together. There's plenty of space for everyone. There's a large kitchen for cooking. Raven proactively sent local suggestions for things to do and sent us a location nearby where we could catch the Northern lights.

Your guide to Fairbanks

All About Fairbanks

The aurora borealis, midnight suns, and seemingly endless sunrises and sunsets paint vivid colors in the sky above Fairbanks, Alaska. The largest city in the state’s interior, Fairbanks is set against a backdrop of ancient mountain ranges, sparkling rivers and lakes, and abundant wildlife.

The city’s arty heart is the Paint the Pipes project — a cluster of decorated ventilation pipes between Barnette Street and Noble Street, ranging from floral designs to a tribute to the Alaskan wilderness. The Georgeson Botanical Garden, which spans five acres on the western edge of the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, showcases native state flora alongside fragrant fruit trees and a maze of scented roses.

Tubing and kayaking are popular ways to explore this gentle stretch of the Chena River, which snakes through the north of the city, while wildlife-spotting opportunities include beavers in the water and eagles overhead. Further out of town, you can cast a line for Arctic grayling just off Chena Hot Springs Road. And the city is a popular launchpad for exploring northern Alaska.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Fairbanks

The best time to consider cabin rentals in Fairbanks, Alaska is between May through September. The temperatures during these months range from crisp to balmy, with June and July warm enough for lighter clothes and hiking excursions. The city spends its summers outdoors, so keep an eye out for public events like the Golden Days in July, which celebrates the city’s Gold Rush history with parades, food, and races. After a short fall, winter sets in here in October and lasts through May; for much of that time, Fairbanks is covered over in snow and temperatures are bone-chillingly cold and dry. If you’re planning on spending any time outdoors, bring outerwear designed for extreme weather conditions. That said, October through December is the best time to visit if your goal is to see the Northern Lights.
