Vacation rentals with a patio in Essex

Abby and Curran are genuinely nice hosts. Their place is ideal for people who enjoy old homes, New England, and coastal life. The suite has a comfortable queen sized bed and an arm chair and sofa, perfect for reading and reflecting. The sofa also folds out into a bed. Chickens and rabbits welcomed us home after time away exploring Milford and the surrounding area. Americana at its best.

Jennifer's place was a great option for us in the chaos of finding a wedding spot in Memorial Day weekend. We flew with our little one for the first time and needed a place that would be able to accommodate us. The availability of a pack-and-play, a high chair, and other helpful baby items made our stay much easier and less stressful. We were comfortable, in a great area, and the communication was amazing.

Great place and location, grew up in the Groton/Mystic area and live in Florida now. Went to my goddaughters wedding at Harkness Park. Accomodations were excellent, well done! Thanks again 👍😎

This is my second time staying at Sue's lovely studio. I travel to CT often to see family and friends in the greater Fairfield area, and the place is very convenient to all parts of Fairfield, Trumbull, Bridgeport, and Milford where I spend time. The studio is above the garage that renters have private use of (so very nice when the weather is stormy). The place is squeaky clean, and I have pretty high standards for cleanliness. It's located in a residential area and though the main road can be busy at times, the studio is set far back on the property and I never hear much of anything. Very private and peaceful yet very convenient. I actually wish I spent more time there, but I'm usually out most of the day into the evening. There is everything there that's needed. Sue adds little touches like a welcome basket of snacks, coffee/tea/oatmeal, and bottled water. I always feel right at home when I'm there, and her place is the first one I look for when my travels take me to CT.

We loved our stay in Westerly! Such a great location! While we were there it rained a bit, so we did drive to mystic and Stonington for some day trips. But we took advantage of being walking distance to westerly downtown for dinners! The place was clean, comfortable, and plenty of space for us! Would definitely stay again!

Second time we've stayed here, and just as wonderful as the first. Clean, quiet, and relaxing. All the basics provided in case you've forgotten anything. Really great place to stay as a home base while catching up with friends and family. Owners are very personable, and we enjoy chatting with them when we see each other outside. Will definitely be booking this place again anytime we return to CT!

We had a great stay at this cottage- it was a perfect size for our family and was extremely clean, warm and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the quick walk to the beach, and proximity to town. Hosts were very friendly and responsive but never intrusive. Would highly recommend.

From the kayaks to the coffee, our stay was glorious! I loved waking up every morning to the gorgeous view of the Niantic River. The indoor and outdoor spaces were comfortable and there are so many amenities. Location is perfect- a short walk to the boat dock and back entrance to the Oswegatchie Hill Trail. Jess’s place was lovely (and so was her recommendation for where to get a great egg sandwich!). We loved reading on the screened-in porch and being within walking distance of two wineries. Hope to be back next year!

I hate to say too many great things since I kind of feel like I want to keep this a secret. This is our second time staying here. The location is awesome — spectacular views from any of the many windows in this contemporary style house. The beds are decent and there’s lots of beach stuff (chairs, towels, umbrella) plus kayaks w/life vests. Well equipped kitchen and good size dining room table. And did I mention the views?… of course I did, but it’s worth mentioning again! A great beach about a mile away. Dining choices are limited now because of the tragic fire at the Matunuck Oyster Bar a few nights before our arrival. Our host was kind enough to send us an email prior to our arrival to inform us of this sad event. We had reservations there for our first night at the house. Since we are pretty casual, the food at Captain Jack’s and Jim’s Dock is decent… but sure missed Matunuck Oyster Bar and our hearts go out to all the staff as the busy summer season was about to begin.

Fantastic Airbnb. Felt like we were staying at a well taken care of and beautifully furnished home of a friend. Nice art, interesting books, comfy and attractive furniture. The whole house was well furnished. There was a lovely snack basket with fresh fruit, bars, French bread, and delicious local cheese to welcome us. Well stocked kitchen- high quality cookware, lots of cooking basics (spices, etc). But, on top of it all, there was wonderful living space- two full well appointed living rooms each with their own amazing view (one of trees, the other of the pond), a large comfortable yet elegant dining room, a big open concept kitchen with a breakfast table, perfect to do a puzzle, play games or have a quick bite. Plenty of room for our party of 10 adults. Beds were comfy, master suite beyond expectation in size and comfort. Great local market for sandwiches/cookies/coffee. Lovely, local CT beach full of shells. Very responsive host. Stay at this airbnb! Even more beautiful in person.

This house is amazing, even more spacious than the photos indicate. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hosts were great communicators, and made sure I had everything I needed. The rooms were nicely furnished and so beautiful. I’d definitely stay here again.

The cutest cottage for a girls’ weekend getaway! And location couldn’t have been better. Wish we had better weather to enjoy the beach and sitting outside but hope to be back in the area someday and would absolutely stay here again!

just returned from annual moms weekend away...Erin's place was beautiful! well stocked, clean, looked just like the pics, great sound system. loved the extra little details like the large ice cubes already made (for me as an old fashioned snob), the adorable dry bar, and the decor in general w all the gold touches-it made it stand out from the typical! the best was walking in and smelling how fresh and clean and homey it was! would def recommend. also we had zero questions bc she was so proactive reaching out prior to checking in. check out her place! :)

I am very familiar with the villas there so the layout is very similar to the one my parents bought. I think it was very nice to have the keypad to get in and out and everything was clean and it was very easy communicating with Kim.

We were in town for our daughter’s graduation and the condo was perfect - an easy drive to Wesleyan and local restaurants, quiet, clean and comfortable!

The stay was very peaceful, friendly neighbors. The scenery was great, Desiree was there for any concerns we had, and with timely response. I would anyone that want a pleasurable stay while in Norwich, this is the place to be. Thanks again, for a wonderful stay. William & Potreen
