Island vacation rentals in British Isles

We had the pleasure of staying on Davaar island over the Christmas period and it was magical! Peaceful, stunning views everywhere you look. Ned was super friendly and helpful and shared wonderful stories with us! The house was warm and cosy, even in 70 mph winds! Bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We took our 2 Burmese cats with us and they had a great time exploring the island. The Jesus caves are a must see! Highly recommend staying on the island if you are looking for a more “off grid” type experience…..

Think this is our third visit (won’t be the last) connection to nature the views not to mention the hot tub even in four seasons it’s fantastic - this visit not only was I blessed with the best northern lights show I’ve ever seen but I got a full fireworks display across the water on New Year’s day/night walking over to the little island when tide goes out is amazing for full views of where you are not to mention meditation and connection at this place can be something else ul never experience anyways long and short this place really is secluded -quiet- and one of the best places in the world to reset and recharge from daily life thanks again Ian and family

Thank you for such a wonderful stay. Captains Cabin was exactly how described. We loved the private, peaceful setting and watching the seals playing was a huge bonus. The seafood platter was exceptional. We planned on doing so many walks but found ourselves wanting to stay on the island as it was so lovely. The hot tub was lovely of an evening. The local Inn was very welcoming too. We wish could have stayed longer and will certainly return. Ian and Jess were amazing hosts and such a lovely family.

We had a lovely time at Fiona’s, the hosts were very friendly and were on hand for anything we needed. We wanted a quiet, peaceful holiday and the hosts were very accommodating in giving us the space we wanted. The home was really cosy with spectacular views from every window. When our ferry was cancelled Fiona went out of her way to make sure we got home safely. We would definitely stay there again. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely couple of days break at Ian’s. He greeted us and gave us all the information we would need for a quick check in. If you enjoy quirky, scenic, historic, picturesque accommodation and timeless scenery, this is the place for you. We have two dogs and they absolutely loved it! Great skies at night and the hot tub wasn’t too shabby either. The best quirk is the floating bridge which in certain weather conditions can be fun. It offers a unique and playful side to this wonderful look back to a time when things were “simpler”.

Collanmore Island Lodge is unreal, couldn't recommend it more! We had the best stag weekend ever here and Ciaran is a absolute gent. Getting to the island is easy and exciting, beds are comfy and facilities are top notch. Ideal for big family gatherings or any type of West of Ireland getaway. I will be back again for sure, thank you Ciaran and your great team.

Our stay on the Isle of Lewis was made so much more incredible through meeting Dolina! We were welcomed into her home with homemade scones and tea and an amazing home cooked meal. Her home was very close to the Great Bernara hike and beautiful Bosta Beach. It's about a 45 minute drive to Tarbert in Harris, and about a 35 minute drive from Stornaway. We saw stags, seals and sea otters while walking around the small village. Dolina provided everything we needed and went above and beyond to make sure we felt right at home, and did I already mention the homemade scones? Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet location to explore Isle of Lewis.

Patrick's place is really nice and super clean. The hosts were available to our every request, making us fully use their super equipped kitchen. the breakfast offered is very good and the room with a spacious, comfortable bathroom (with a beautiful view) and very clean. great area for visiting the ring of kerry

Jerry was a very responsive host lots of information. You also get a app to use which is very helpful with clear instructions on how to access the property useful information with apps and gadgets and also local restaurants and shops the cottage itself was beautiful amazing views hot tub was fantastic beautiful surroundings very private would very highly recommend and will most definitely be staying again and a big thank you to Jeff for being an amazing host. I’m very helpful.

This was so much more than an Airbnb… a truly unique experience where I was made to feel so welcome. The cabin has everything you need and was so cosy with the log stove and fairy lights. The hosts really are the nicest people with such passion for wildlife. I really can’t thank you enough for sharing your wonderful space and wildlife with me.. is truly appreciated. I’m already excited to return next year!

I took my business guests from middle east, we stay 2 days they were impressed by the place and surroundings, I recommend this place it's very nice and peaceful.

My little family have just left Jerry’s property and really enjoyed our few days there. Very peaceful,lovely surroundings and not far from Lancaster and Morecombe. My little man enjoyed having his own room and bathroom, his favourite bit was the bar stools in the kitchen. I absolutely loved sitting in the kitchen and looking out of the window looking out at the garden. Awesome rainfall shower and bath. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well

Lovely house with views of the sea. This area very convenient for Stornoway, the airport and its immediate surrounds. Apparently the area the best place to see whales. We didn't but we did stand by the nearby lighthouse very hopefully - taking in the stunning sea and views across the Minch.

What can I say but wow x Fantastic studio with the most fabulous views from out of every window. We were blown away by it. Hubby is a birdwatcher and enjoyed every second, spotting Golden Eagles and Sea Eagles daily. The hosts, Peter and Mary were excellent, lovely and friendly and most helpful and accommodating. Without a shadow of a doubt I would recommend everyone to go and stay in this beautiful studio.

Hi! We've spent 2 wonderful weeks at the house. The view is absolutely magnificent. Directly on the sea, secluded and therefore perfect for a break from everyday life. We have also been able to watch otters and seals. It is just so beautiful there. Everything we needed was available in the house. There was even wifi, so we could research and plan our day trips well in advance. Ronan could be reached super fast if you had questions about the house or anything else in advance. Thank you Ronan for such a wonderful stay!

What a fabulous time we had at Jinty's place. The hut is as described and despite not having electricity and heating we managed no problem at all with our two boys, using the bbq to cook and heat, and relying on our own power banks to charge phones etc. Make sure to bring lights which you can place around the hut. The location is amazing. Utterly beautiful - what a joy waking up and watching the sun rise over the bay. There are very clean toilets and showers (£5 for a shower, payable to the Bunkhouse) close by which worked well. Great value for money!

What can i say. The Boathouse is the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Its so peaceful and serene in the most idyllic location overlooking Strangford Lough. Aileen is a pleasure to meet and really pulled out all the stops with the "little extras" we didn't expect. On a good day you can sit and watch the sun rise and on a clear night you can see the beautiful starry sky with no light pollution. Our dog loved running around the extensive grounds and we even enjoyed a game or two of tennis! If its rest and relaxation you are after you wont find a better place than Simmy Island. We had the perfect stay!

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! A true piece of heaven on earth! Not sure I can say enough about our 2 night stay, except I wish it had been longer. The location is quiet, peaceful and stunning; the home is charming, comfortable, and unique, your host is knowledgable, helpful and a most wonderful chef. Graham made us dinner the first night and everything was superb - highly recommend you opt for the "at-home" meal too. Breakfast was effectively three courses, so delightful. We also enjoyed his pups for a cuddle or two as we were missing ours left behind for the trip. Lon Ban will be a 5 star base for you to explore the magical Isle of Skye!
