Beachfront vacation rentals in Blue Hill

As a family of 8 (4 couples), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is well thought out and extremely comfortable. Oftentimes, homes advertised for groups are lacking in seating, dining space, amenities, but Timothy’s place delivered everything we hoped for and more. Plenty of space to come together and relax. A truly beautiful home with a spectacular view- we are already planning a return trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Harbor House! Rich & Julie were very helpful, sent itinerary ideas, and responded quickly to our questions. The cottage is beautifully decorated, cozy, and clean with beautiful water views. We would readily plan another stay!

Such an amazing cottage! Me and my family went up to Maine for a long weekend and had a great time, where we were surrounded by nature and lovely views of the sea. We were able to use the outdoor grill for dinner and also the beautiful interior allowed us to have the most cozy autumn nights, especially with the fire going! Highly recommend!

This is our second stay at Fox Bluff in the last eight months, and we plan to come back many more times. It’s a beautiful home, and Lo is a brilliant host. She checks in regularly to make sure you have everything you need, but isn’t intrusive. The house is extremely well equipped, but uncluttered and airy. Secluded and peaceful, but not remote. There are a few nice restaurants and shops ~5 minutes drive away, in Brooklin, and then larger Blue Hill is a pleasant 20 minute drive: there’s a top-notch independent bookstore, Blue Hill Books; the Blue Hill Co-Op; excellent coffee at Bucklyn Coffee; nice restaurants and shops, etc. There are great trails and shoreline spots all across the peninsula, plus kayaking, sailing, beachcombing, etc. So many stars at night! We’ve always felt comfortable, safe and welcome in the house, and with Lo as our host. It’s our special place and will become yours, too.

Allen is very nice & very helpful of recommendation of things to do. His place is peaceful & relaxing.

We stayed at Alicia’s place, as we were traveling through, so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the lake. It was well appointed and made great use of the space. There was only 2 of us but a family of 4 would have no issues. It was extremely clean and cozy. We would stay again if in the area. Thanks Alicia

I can’t say enough good things about this cabin! From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true getaway. Nestled in the woods by a peaceful lake, the setting is absolutely stunning – the views are breathtaking both inside and out. The cabin itself is beautifully designed and incredibly well-equipped. The appliances are top-notch, and everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The host went above and beyond with thoughtful touches – we were welcomed with s’mores fixings (a sweet surprise!), and there was a lovely selection of coffee and teas waiting for us. The bedding was so comfortable, making it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. Make sure to visit Hope General Store for pizza. The tranquility and beauty of the location made for the perfect escape, and we felt completely refreshed after our stay. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature with all the comforts of home (and then some!). Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely beautiful and stunning house and property . My husband, dog and I really enjoyed our vacation here. Beautiful and peaceful morning walks on the grounds, few fun visits to Acadia and Bar Harbor, delicious local restaurants , very friendly and helpful property caretakers , friendly and fun nearby towns to explore and enjoy, beautiful sunsets on beach seeing and listening to seals and birds, wonderful baths and showers in beautiful bathrooms, great kitchen, very comfortable beds, and beautiful decks for coffee or tea in morning and evenings viewing ocean. We will definitely be back. Rosemary was a wonderful host checking in to see if needed anything and very helpful with any of our questions . We are looking forward to returning here again soon .

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Carriage House, and it truly exceeded our expectations. It felt like staying at a Four Seasons. Lyndsey, the host, was exceptional—her communication was clear and proactive, and she made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our visit. We were in the area to visit family for the holidays, and unfortunately, a messy snowstorm hit during our stay. Not only did Lyndsey reach out in advance to share the challenging driving conditions, but she also made sure the narrow, quarter-mile driveway was plowed, allowing us to safely return that night. As for the Carriage House itself, the photos don’t do it justice. It looks brand new, beautifully appointed, and tastefully decorated. The space is cozy, comfortable, and feels like a true home away from home. There's a short path leading down to a secluded strip of beach by the bay—a perfect, peaceful spot to sit and take in the stunning views. It’s a serene and magical place to unwind. Overall a 5 star stay

We had an incredible time at Laura’s home! It was beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for our group of six. There was plenty of space and the beds were so comfortable! The only slight inconvenience we had was with the water - it had a strong smell and bad taste. We used the provided water tank that we filled up twice during our visit for drinking and cooking. Otherwise it was a perfect spot and had everything we needed in the kitchen! We can’t wait to come back!

Basha’s cottage was sweet and inviting, upon entry we were greeted with lovely flowers and a note welcoming us. The view out to the ocean was enchanting and the cottage was very peaceful. All of Basha’s restaurant recommendations were on point! We would definitely come back, October was surprisingly warmer than expected and we only needed sweaters. The grocery store that Basha recommended in Blue Hill was perfect, there were farm fresh yogurts in Ball jars that I’ll never forget, how I wish we had yogurt like that back home in NY, also a homemade chicken pot pie and so many other delicious food items, fresh fruit etc. If you’re a shell fish lover as we are every restaurant has the very best! We totally enjoyed our stay. In need of peace and relaxation, we found this cottage exceeded our expectations. Perfect for two people - the hosts provided for everything we would need. The cottage was spotless with a lovely view of Penobscot Bay. The hammock and chairs outside were a great spot for sunrise and sunset views. We even saw 2 bald eagles one morning on the tree next to the chairs. Belfast is convenient for dinners, Sears Island is close by and fun to explore. An extra treat was the observatory bridge and Fort Knox. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are an hour away. If you like to hike it is well worth the trip (even if you don't hike it is worth seeing).

Perfect stay. The back deck was amazing with gorgeous views. We spent most of our time out there. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a couple of meals since a lot of the restaurants were closed for the season. The house was even better than the pictures. Staying on the quiet side with less traffic was the right choice. We would definitely stay here again!

There are no words that can describe our stay! Joey & Carla are by far the friendliest hosts I have encountered. They went above and beyond for me and my husband. The vibe, the views are for sure THE SPOT!!!! We had absolutely no issues, the heater worked perfectly fine, everything was spotless,homey,romantic, the place is just gorgeous! The Nub on Somes Sound was one of the best stays we’ve had via Airbnb. The double height ceilings from the living room and large deck both overlooking the water bring the peace and beauty of Maine to your door in a cozy, private wood cabin. Looking forward to coming back next year!

We absolutely loved this beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and well stocked home on a spectacular property with an ever changing view of the tides changing. We think this was our favorite Airbnb and we’ve been to many!

We had a great experience. Rebecca is a very responsive host. The instructions before arrival were very helpful. The place is exactly like the photos.

This cottage has jaw dropping views. Huge picture windows highlight the beautiful harbor. Everything was so clean and well cared for. Plenty of maps and guides of the area. If you enjoy hunting sea glass you can literally walk off your back steps to go on a “treasure hunt” for it. You can walk down the street and explore shops and restaurants. But you’re also convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The internet went out while we were there which is honestly not normally something we’d even care about. But we had plans to watch our Alma Mater play our biggest rival in college football. Dana took care of everything right away while we were enjoying the morning in Acadia. When we returned everything was good to go. We look forward to visiting again! Highly recommend this property and host.

We loved the cabin and the views. The proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia was perfect. Loved the decor. Very comfy cozy and relaxing which is what we were aiming for. Beautiful sunsets!!

David's place is beautiful and peaceful. Watching the sunset and viewing all the stars in the sky was just amazing. We had everything we needed, and were able to contact the caretaker for anything, and he was quick to respond. It was a great place to stay and while we didn't see any seals, we did get a glimpse of some wild turkeys and enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings watching the sunset, sipping wine and enjoying the beauty around us. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This was our first trip to Acadia. Our plan was to simply unplug, relax, do some hiking and explore Acadia/MDI. We spent 4 days doing exactly that. Robard's place was perfectly situated and meticulously clean. The home was well stocked, king bedrooms - each with a perfect outdoor perch- were very cozy with stunning views of the sunrise and Goose Cove. So quiet and peaceful - just a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy convenient access to fantastic hikes. We originally booked a 3 night stay but we were able to add one more night. Robard quickly responded to messages I had ahead of our stay and was very helpful with local suggestions which included the Choco-Latte Cafe in Bar Harbor- very good. The outdoor fire pits (we used the wood burning one) and water's edge seating were all prepped and waiting for our enjoyment. Mornings were cool and crisp by the water's edge. Great stay, would love to do it again.

The home is beautifully designed and decorated, but for us the views were the best part of staying there. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The property is lovely to walk around. The views of the water, trees and wildlife make for an exceptional experience.

We had a lovely time at this home with our two grown children and their significant others. There was space for everyone and the beach access was great for kayaking!! It was very clean and well !!The hosts were very prompt in responding whenever we had any questions. We would definitely stay here again!
