This house was built in 1870, it is a stone structure and was used as a family farm home. It has been remodeled for its use today. It is historically correct, which includes antiques of the time. Post Civil War era, furniture including the beds of this period. Another interesting aspect, is that the floors are all original. Mattresses, blankets pillows, bedding and towels are all new. The wine cellar that we have added, made on location. I always leave some out for guests. No fee.

Our stay at the Farmhouse was fantastic! Beautiful home. Jackie went out of her way to decorate for my Graduation from McKendree, decorated and left commemorative McKendree champagne glasses and a card signed by the President of McKendree. Jackie went above and beyond to make my family weekend so special. The house is roomy and beautiful. Toys for my grandson and all the amenities we needed. My Grandson called it the “horsey house”. He loved riding the horse inside and playing outside. The area was quiet and private. I will stay here again when o come to visit family in the area. The memories we made at the Farmhouse will forever be cherished. Jackie thank you for all you did to make my weekend so spectacular. You are amazing! Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat!

Jeff and Sally's place is so lovely and unbelievably PEACEFUL! We spent most of our time on the beautiful 10 foot deep covered porch taking in the playful songbirds and lake teaming with fish! The sunset over the lake was just beautiful! My husband happily caught lots of fish. We drove down to the river (4-wheel drive required). The beach was large with gravel and surprisingly white sand! Lots of clam shells too. The cabin is cozy - nicely decorated, very new and well built with quality furnishings and supplies (plenty for 2 people). Also remarkably clean and well maintained! Jeff and Sally were so nice! We mostly communicated with Jeff who couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating! Fantastic host! We already can't wait to come back and kayak/float once my elbow heals and I can paddle again! Thanks so much Jeff and Sally. We'll always remember this trip as one of our favorites!
