This apartment is situated within the main building of the Tower but benefits from its own private entrance and is completely self-contained. This spacious Victorian cottage is a great base to explore the coast , walk, birdwatch or paddleboard. Situated in the traditional fishing village of Tollesbury the cottage has a lovely dining area, fully stocked kitchen, two large bedrooms and garden. We’re a 5 minute walk from the water and access to miles of coastal seawall walks and nature reserves looking over the river Blackwater. Tollesbury is a popular place in summer with a saltwater swimming lido and many water based activities.

The Old Schoolhouse Lodge

In the grounds of the Old Schoolhouse sits our luxurious lodge. Separate from the main house. The newly decorated and refreshed Lodge comprises of 1 bedroom(with kingsize bed) open planned lounge with table & seating area. Bathroom consists of a shower & WC, there is an addition with a beautiful relaxing Sauna, Views through the large bi fold doors of the rolling Essex countryside with the most spectacular sunsets on the horizon. You can enjoy an evening firepit or breakfast on the patio.

With its own beachside garden and breathtaking uninterrupted views of the wildest of Essex creeks and marshes, the cottage is only to be reached on foot atop a sea wall. The perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The last in a row of westerly facing cottages, perfect to watch the evening sun go down . From the front garden or even laying in bed, watch the tide slip in and out, the fishing boats come and go and live, for a while, in a world moving at a slower pace.

Tuck away next to the Wivenhoe woods (upper Wivenhoe), this lovely self-contained studio flat provides comfortable accommodation throughout. The studio is on a cul-de-sac, with its own entrance. It is just a short walk to the University of Essex via Wivenhoe Public pathway. The the train station is also only 15 minute walk away through the Wivenhoe trail. Ideal for 1-2 guests, but a baby or small chid is welcome (providing that you bring your own travel cot & bedding with you).

The village itself has 2 pubs and lots of walking routes nearby. Paper Mill Lock is a pleasant 30 min walk and has water sport facilities and tea room. Footpath maps available. Travel cot or single fold out guest bed avail on request, no additional cost.
