Once you have a confirmed reservation, we know that plans can sometimes change. You can make changes to reservation details, like the dates or number of guests, by sending an alteration request to your host or guest. Before you do, make sure to send them a message to explain the changes and agree on the new reservation details.

Both hosts and guests can adjust the reservation dates, modify the number of guests, or switch the reservation to another of the host's listings on Airbnb. Hosts can also modify the price of the reservation. Alterations are subject to the calendar availability and terms of the listing, such as the maximum number of nights or guests that a host can accommodate.
If an alteration is accepted, the cancellation policy is updated according to the new reservation details; the guest will be charged or refunded according to the change in price and the host calendar and payout updated.
The price is calculated from the listing's pricing settings at the time of the alteration, not the pricing settings from the time the reservation was booked. Hosts may adjust the subtotal when making an alteration request to make sure the pricing is correct.
If the alteration is declined or it doesn’t get a response, the original reservation details remain intact.
If you wish to change the details of an alteration request, you need to retract the alteration request and submit a new one.
