Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Southern Precinct

Brenda was an excellent host and always responded promptly with answers to all our questions. She and her husband go above and beyond to make sure their guests are taken care of. The house was very nice and a pool was just added to the property. We were very comfortable there and hope to stay again when in the area. Thank you, Brenda!!

This house is a favorite of my family. We chose to stay here again because of the avaible space and the area to entertain my large family. Krista is a great host and does a great job at promptly responding to any question I have. I cannot wait to use this property again.

The game room was perfect for my family gathering! It kept everyone entertained! The master bedroom was comfortable. The only thing that made our stay less convenient was all the stairs when taking food to the game room. Overall it was a great house for us!

Great home with exactly what we needed for a spring break getaway! Everything was clean, stocked kitchen, and Magen's description was spot on. Kids loved the bunk room and board games. Will definitely return!

Another great stay at the eagles nest. This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first time. Lots of space, great for entertaining. Richard was a great host and very easy to deal with. Very pleased, will stay again.

Rebecca's place was a warm and cozy. exceeded out expectations. we had to stay for a remeberance ceremony at SIU and Rebecca made us feel welcomed. The location was perfect. Highly recommend

Rebecca and Derek’s place is a true gem of a find! The pictures do not do it justice. They were friendly, responsive and such wonderful hosts. We will absolutely be back - be sure to bring your fishing poles if you come. My boys caught so many fish and had a blast. We will be back!

It was a sweet, peaceful get away!

I was in town staying with family and it’s located next door. It made the trip so special and the opportunity to catch up on some much needed sleep. Comfortable and quiet which is exactly what I was looking for that week! So was so patient even when I had fallen asleep and blocked her driveway. This was the first stay of hopefully many to come!

This condo exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and had everything we needed plus more. You can’t beat the location and view. Beds were very comfortable. Loved having access to the garage, most condos we’ve stayed in keep the garage locked. Made unloading so much easier and gave us a place to sit outside without being in the sun. Mason was a great host and made us feel at home the moment we walked in. We absolutely will stay here again!!

Great place to stay and within walking distance to great restaurant. Deb was amazing to work with and very responsive. Beds were comfortable and we had a great time. We will definitely stay here again.

Ashley and her lakefront rental were both amazing! Property was very clean and just perfect for our group of 10. Close to the lake (short drive away) and plenty of relaxing outdoor space for grilling, hanging out and enjoying time with family and friends.

I rented this cabin for my uncle and my 2 cousins to celebrate my uncle’s soon-to-be 95th birthday. My cousin said it was easy to find and to get inside. They planned to do some fishing and they had a question about what kind of bait they should use in the lake and their question was answered promptly The only area of concern was that there had been some wet towels left in the bathtub, and my cousin said it made the inside smell very “mildewed”. She tried to wash the towels, but the washer was new and needed to be programmed or reset, so she couldn’t use it…. One of the hosts, Jerry, called me (I wasn’t staying at the cabin) and explained about the washer being new. I didn’t fully understand that the issue was the towels had left the cabin smelling moldy until my cousin explained it to me. But Jerry quickly called me to explain the issue with the washer and he said if we needed clean towels to leave the dirty ones outside the front door and they would wash them.

We love hiking so we visited the Garden of the Gods, the Little Grand Canyon and the Giant City Nature Trail. This cabin is in a great location for visiting the Shawnee National Forest and perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking. The grill for making dinner was so clean, as well as the hot tub for relaxing. Also a fire pit out back. The kitchen had everything you could need. Shampoo and conditioner were also provided. This is by far the best Airbnb I have visited, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We had a great time :)

This is a perfect little cottage near the lake. It had everything we needed, including nice outdoor patio spaces for eating and a big firepit. You can't see much of the lake from the cottage, but it's easy to get to - across a quiet road and down a very long flight of stairs. There's a nice big dock for fishing, swimming, star gazing at night, boating, and just relaxing and enjoying the view (it's a particularly scenic section of the lake because there is no development on the other side of the water - just forest!). We loved having access to kayaks and enjoyed fishing off the dock. Would love to return in summer when we can swim and do even more water activities!

We were surprised by the amenities and care that Mary took to get the place ready for our stay. She had all the essentials in case you missed packing something and more. She was very responsive when we asked for dinner recommendations. The cabin is right at the entrance to Godwin trail and 1.5 miles from the cross. It is walking distance to the cross as well.

If your idea of Heaven includes a beautiful lake view in a tranquil setting where you can relax, I have good news. This location is it. Joanna Beth responded to questions quickly and I felt confident that our stay would be a perfect getaway, which was correct. The space was clean, comfortable, roomy, and had everything we needed. The recommendations for restaurants in town were really helpful, and we enjoyed some of the nearby hiking opportunities as well. We will definitely stay here again in the near future!

We loved it. The location was perfect for all the sights we wanted to see. The cabin had everything we needed and was awesome!

The location was great for exploring the western part of Shawnee National Forest. The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and me. The inside was very nice and looked as though it was recently renovated. The kitchen had the basics and enough items for what we planned to cook for the four days we were there. Sid, Patty and their three dogs were very welcoming! We would stay again if in the area.
