Family-friendly vacation rentals in Southbury

We loved staying at this home - it was the perfect place for our group of ten. The outdoor space was definitely the highlight, with the pool & spa being our favorite part of the trip. The only thing to note is that we weren’t supplied quite enough toilet paper or paper towels, though I did not reach out for more - It was the last evening when we ran out and we were leaving early the next morning. The trash requirements were a surprise after booking, but going to the transfer station was easy enough, and it is listed on the house rules. Overall, an excellent stay and would absolutely return!

This getaway was very last minute and there was huge importance on it because I needed some time away and because I had never booked an Airbnb before. I wanted to make sure that my family and I were able to be someplace peaceful and have a really good time and Brian’s home provided just that. The stay was so much more than we expected and Brian was absolutely amazing. He’s super responsive and accommodating. Hoping to stay here again in the near future!

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at Enrique's Rhinebeck home. It's out in the country, very peaceful, and very quiet at night. About an 8 minute drive to the charming town of Rhinebeck. We were out riding the rail trails during the day, but when at the house, really enjoyed the deck, hot tub, and screened porch (later at night when it got buggy). The kitchen is well appointed. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side. Definitely would consider staying here again if ever back in the Rhinebeck area.

Paula was an exceptional host! She was always quick to respond and answered my many questions, before and during our stay. The house was fantastic for entertaining. It’s spacious and we loved the art! We would have loved to enjoy the beautiful decks, but it rained during most of our visit. We made a fire instead! The house has Sonas and we loved having music. The large windows are great and so were all the views. It made me feel like I was in a treehouse! I would highly recommend this Airbnb and host.

Victoria's place was wonderful! It was spacious and comfortable and gave our family plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our visit. Victoria was a very responsive host and made check in and check out stress free and easy! There was ample parking for our cars and the house was private - it was the "house behind the house" so we weren't subject to busy traffic noise on the street. (Got a little confusing for DoorDash drivers but we worked it out :D). I will book this same place next time I am up for an extended weekend with the family. Highly recommend!

What a gorgeous stay. My partner and I celebrated our five year anniversary here and each detail was perfect. The home is wonderfully curated, with stunning art, decor, puzzles, plates, you name it! And by the window, the feeders attract all kinds of birds that I’ve never seen so up close. Woodpeckers, cardinals, chickadees. You hardly need the TV, it’s so entertaining. The place is spotless and serene. And Rosy is so responsive while giving you complete privacy! You can tell she really cares about the experience she provides. If you’re looking to stay in an artfully cozy home, this is the place.

We keep coming back to stay here because the house is so cool and has everything you could need! A great getaway outside of nyc anytime and we always recommend to others.

We really enjoyed staying here, only wish we booked it for longer! Our son and our dog enjoyed going for walks on the trails behind the brewery. The beers and pizza from the brewery were excellent, the house is really charming and relaxing. Also got out to enjoy the disc golf course which was a fun way to spend the afternoon. I would love to come back and try out the mountain bike trails. The surrounding area was fun to explore, really can't think of any negative points to this place!

Was the perfect little get away for us. And it was nice to find a place that accommodated the dogs so well. We appreciated being able to get to places easily but at the same time have a peaceful place to return to.

Mahmoud was a wonderful host. Very responsive, pleasant, and helpful. His home and the views were spectacular, and the koi pond was beautiful. It’s a great location to stay while visiting West Point, as it’s a quick drive across the Bear Mountain Bridge. Our large group felt comfortable and welcomed. One of the bedroom descriptions could have been listed a little clearer because you need to pass through the master bedroom to get to it. Luckily our family was ok with that. We would stay again.

We loved our stay! Gail was very kind and responsive. The home was well stocked with the necessities (extra toothbrushes, food basics, dishwasher detergent, trash bags) which was a nice surprise! The home is very spacious and comfortable- not to mention the incredible interior design and artwork. We left with so much inspo for our own home!

I stayed at Mary's rental with my sister's family including a 4yo and 6yo, as well as my 72yo mother and the house was a perfect fit! The downstairs bedroom and full bath were perfect for mom to avoid the steep stairs, and the house was well equipped with a ton of kids books and some toys. Proximity to town was the highlight, we were easily able to walk with the kids which was perfect since the weekend was too chilly for the beach. Mary was responsive if needed but the house is well stocked and easy to navigate so we felt at home right away. I will absolutely be renting from Mary again!

Was in the area to visit family and this was a perfect location for me. Had just what my family needed to have a great weekend

Beautiful place to stay in Rhinebeck Village! Walkable to shops and restaurants. Located in a very pretty neighborhood, and being close to a beautiful creek, is a wonderful setting! Very clean inside and nicely decorated. There is no basic cable TV so be sure to bring your Roku stick or anything else you need, assuming you want access TV during your stay.

This was a great find! I booked this Airbnb for myself and 4 other girls and there was plenty of room and space for us to hangout, sleep, and get ready. Walkable to town. Extremely clean and had all the amenities you would need for a short weekend getaway. Marianne and Steven were very responsive whenever I had a question. I would totally book this Airbnb again!

We lived in the Hudson Valley before retiring to Maine. For the past 4 years, Sarah and Jonathan’s home has provided the perfect spot for return visits with family and friends and a comfortable place away from home. The house is tastefully decorated and provides all that we require for an extended stay. The kitchen is well appointed with utensils, dishware, pans, and a large assortment of appliances. A special feature in the home is the lower level room with a huge wrap-around couch, large screen tv and toys for the kids. In addition, the grounds are beautiful. The outside deck allows for time to enjoy the gorgeous view and the large yard is fun for romps with our little Havanese. Being close to the town is an added bonus: The Tribute Gardens, Marona’s Market, the little French restaurant (Cafe Les Beaux), Stewart’s for ice cream, The Merritt Bookstore + Toystore, various antique shops are places we frequent. Innisfree Gardens and Dover Stone Church are nearby. We love it here!

Laurie’s home was the perfect size for our girls weekend to celebrate the bride. The patio was extensive and comfortably fit all of us for a hibachi chef and dinner. It was a quick drive from the house to the wineries, which was fantastic.

The pool house is so cute and the outdoor patio is gorgeous and the perfect place to relax. Great place to stay if you want to stay near New Haven but also want to enjoy quiet away from the city. Sue is a responsive and very generous host!

We had a wonderful long weekend stay! Steve was an excellent host, who was very hospitable and responsive, allowing us flexible check in and check out, leaving a thoughtful welcome gift and sending us recommendations for things to do in the local area. We ended up hiking, wine tasting, visiting local restaurants. The home was great for our two kids (12 year old and 3 year old) and we made use of the pool every day! Wish we could've stayed longer but it was the perfect city getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer’s place. It was.l beautiful, immaculate, and incredibly well equipped—especially for kids with the plethora of games and toys. Jennifer was responsive and a great host. The house is on a serene, dead-end street, and outdoor area is perfect for kids.

We recently stayed at Tina's and had a great time. The location is secluded, incredibly peaceful and quiet — all you can hear are the birds in the morning. The home itself is clean and looks just like the photos. We also loved that we could bring our dog along with us. We live in the city so our pup doesn't get to touch much grass, and he had a blast running through the fenced-in yard. Although we originally booked because the house has a pool and we were hoping for good weather, it rained almost the entire time we were there... Nonetheless, it felt like the coziest home for a rainy weekend, and we really enjoyed our stay. We loved sitting inside by the fire to watch a movie, cooking in the kitchen and building a fire outside when the rain stopped. The location was also great for driving into Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Hudson and surrounding breweries and wineries.

John was a perfect host! Friendly, responsive and made us feel welcome. I took my 9 year old son and we had a great time fishing off the dock and kayaking. The kitchenette is lacking if you want to cook any meals but it didn’t matter in our case. Absolutely beautiful location!

We had a lovely stay at Eric's home. The home exceeded our expectations and we felt right at home. The decor was warm and inviting. Everything you could possibly need was in the stunning, modern kitchen. The beds were all comfortable and we slept very well. The property was very peaceful. We enjoyed seeing deer, turkeys and hawks each day. The fixtures in the home were modern, clean and high-end. It was great being so close to Greenport with it's wonderful restaurants and shops. We can't wait to return.
