Bluebird Yurt @ #1 Rock Tavern River Kamp...

JamesRating, 5 stars3 days ago
The location was in a peaceful setting along the river bank. I needed a break in between semesters for grad school and this was exactly what I needed. My yurt was fairly close to the road, so I could hear traffic as it went by, but later at night it wasn’t bad. This place had everything needed for a weekend getaway. I made reservations the night before after making last minute plans. I would definitely make plans to stay again if I come back to the area and would recommend for anyone looking for a weekend getaway along the river.
The wooden yurt, featuring a distinctive round shape and a sloped roof, sits elevated on a small platform with steps leading up to the entrance. Large windows are present on the exterior, surrounded by lush greenery that blends with the natural landscape.

Rustic Yurt - Turshlaga

Kiersten MegRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Our stay at Experience Learning was great. Drive in - easy for I believe a couple reasons: 1) the video the host sent to us, and 2) having an offline map of the area. The last few miles were gravelly. Power outage - upon arrival 3pm (bathroom was fully functional). Outage had little impact: 1) no access to wifi (no cell service in the area at all) (also wifi does not reach the yurt), and 2) cooked our dinner in dim lighting (not even an issue as Annie the kitchen aid was helpful to show us around). Yurt - as expected from listing. We were the only AirBnb guests that night, so Jackie the host allowed us to choose any yurts - decided to stay w/ the original booking. This yurt was the warmest of the 3 we saw since it has little tree coverage and is insulated. The yurt stayed warm and cooled off late night, esp after light rain. The bed was uncomfortable for us but fine for one night. Bathroom - as expected: clean but bring your own towels and amenities. Overall, would recommended staying.
A rustic yurt is framed by vibrant greenery and colorful flowers, with a weathered corrugated metal roof. Two black chairs are positioned on the lush grass, inviting relaxation. Natural elements surround the structure, complementing its eco-friendly ambiance.

The yurt is a unique getaway - it feels private and peaceful while still in walking distance to town. Beautiful area with lots of things to do. Great place to stay for a night if you’re looking for something a little different!

Painted Horse Yurt @ #1 Rock Tav River Kamp/ WiFi

AmandaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
My team and I always wanted to stay at a yurt, and it was such a treat. I personally also met a childhood dream of sleeping in a canopy bed. Double score!! I didn’t have service as Annette warned, so be sure to screenshot or print directions especially the lockbox code. Very close to Luray (pronounced Loo-Ray) for breakfast. We recommend the Broad Porch Cafe before fueling up to visit the Shenandoah National Park. Great stay!

Very well maintained and amazing property. Plenary of activities to keep kids occupied. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t do much outdoor activities as it rained through your the day during our stay. Would love to go again and again.

2 BR Yurt Shenandoah Crossings W/Resort Amenities

DanielRating, 5 stars13 months ago
Chris was very helpful and responsive, and proactively reached out to offer local recommendations. The resort staff was incredibly nice and responsive, and the yurt was spacious and clean. It was a short drive to Gordonsville for restaurants, and a slightly longer but convenient and manageable drive to Charlottesville. I’d strongly suggest BBQ exchange and Well Hung winery restaurant in Gordonsville, and Barboursville Winery was incredible.
An aerial view of a yurt-style home nestled in a lush green landscape, surrounded by trees. The circular structure features a wooden deck and porch, with outdoor seating and a fire pit nearby, providing a tranquil retreat in nature.

1BR | Fireplace | Fire Pit | Sauna [yellyurt]

JonRating, 5 stars14 months ago
The yurt was unique and fun to stay in - very well designed. Everything inside was quality and had really good lighting from both the skylight and the surrounding windows. I especially enjoyed the sauna which was one of the best ones I've used in an AirBnB. It heated up very well an you could pour water on the stones to steam it. They also conveniently have another door so you don't have to walk to far to access it in the winter. The shower was cool too and great for a couple. My only gripe is that should have provided a third chair for the dining table.

Redd Door Retreat ~Riverfront~Glamping~

EsteeRating, 5 stars6 months ago
This stay was AMAZING! The yurt was absolutely spotless and so well done. Everything—furniture, kitchen, bathroom, outside features—was beautifully manicured and of very nice quality. It was also super fun to be in such a stunning structure but still hear the sounds of the outdoors. Additionally, Terri Jo is great at communication and so hospitable. I would recommend this stay to all of my friends and hope to return one day!
