Clay Point Retreat sits at the end of a mile-long private road on its own wooded peninsula, surrounded by the still waters of Great Cove and Pond Cove Island. Genuine seclusion — twelve minutes from Machias, a world away from everything else. Deer and bald eagles move through the property regularly. Light-filled, comfortably set up for groups of 10, with waterfront firepits, a full kitchen, and a garage with a pool table and big screen TV.

The space
Clay Point Retreat is nestled on a private wooded peninsula at the end of a mile-long private road — your own corner of the Maine coast, shared with no one.
The main-level master suite has a king bed and ensuite bath, making it ideal for couples or anyone who wants ground-floor convenience. Two more bedrooms upstairs — a second king and a bunk room that sleeps four — plus a full pullout sofa in the living room comfortably accommodate groups up to 10. Three full bathrooms mean mornings run smoothly.
The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need for a real meal. Fire up the outdoor grill, pick up fresh lobster from a local dock in Machias, and eat outside with the cove in front of you. The firepit and waterfront chairs are where evenings naturally end up — watch for deer moving through the tree line and bald eagles overhead as the light fades over Great Cove.
When you need a change of pace, the garage has you covered — pool table, big screen TV, and plenty of space to spread out on a rainy afternoon.
Roque Bluffs State Park is minutes away — one of the only sandy beaches in Downeast Maine, with both a saltwater shore and a warm freshwater pond. Jasper Beach, the Bold Coast Trail, West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, and some of the best hiking in New England are all within easy reach.
This is the Bold Coast the way it's meant to be experienced — remote, wild, and entirely your own.

Guests have full access to the house other than a basement door.

Garage is open for your enjoyment for games/extra space to hangout. The upstairs is unfinished and currently used for storage so we ask that you please do not go up there.
