Wake up to the hush of North Georgia’s most celebrated trout river and end the day roasting marshmallows under a sky glittering with stars. Blue Ridge Riverfront Cabin — affectionately nicknamed The Big Chair River House — places you right on the clear Toccoa River in the heart of the Aska Adventure Area. Whether you’re a family of paddlers, anglers, and hikers or a group of friends craving lazy mornings on a porch swing, our cabin wraps you in nature without sacrificing comfort.
The space
The Space
Step inside and feel the everyday stress melt away. The river greets you through oversized windows the moment you cross the threshold, and the interior has been completely renovated to balance mountain-cabin charm with modern convenience. With approximately 1,300 square feet of indoor living space and another 1,300 square feet spread across two river-facing decks, everyone in your party of up to eight guests has plenty of room to spread out, play games, or steal quiet moments with a cup of coffee. The main level is devoted to gathering: sink-in sectional sofa, stone fireplace with wood-burning insert and blower, smart TV for streaming your favorite apps, and a dining nook that invites lingering conversations after dinner. Large sliding doors pull the outdoors in, so even on rainy days you’ll hear the soothing rush of the Toccoa just beyond the rail.
Outdoor Living
Our twin decks are the star of the show. The upper deck, shaded by mature hardwoods, is outfitted with deep-seat loungers, a generous dining table, and a swing bed that tempts even the most indoorsy guest to try a night under the stars. The lower deck sits closer to the water, perfect for morning yoga, sunset cocktails, or spying the resident kingfishers and white-tailed deer that pass through at dawn. A third platform is positioned right on the riverbank, giving anglers a private casting perch and transforming tube launches into the easiest part of your day. After the sun dips, circle around the large stone fire pit, toast s’mores, and watch May–June fireflies put on an unforgettable light show.

Neighborhood highlights
Only 15 minutes from Downtown Blue Ridge! Blue Ridge is Georgia's favorite mountain town, only 90 miles north of Atlanta via I-575, but a million miles away from it all. With 106,000 acres located in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Blue Ridge, GA is definitely the cure for whatever ails you.
Renew your spirit on a day hiking to local waterfalls or horseback riding on forested trails in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Bring the family and discover the thrill of an Ocoee River whitewater rafting adventure, ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, enjoy a current movie at the Swan Drive-In Theater, or treetop Zipline canopy adventure. Rent a pontoon boat, kayak or SUP on beautiful Lake Blue Ridge. Pick locally grown fruit at Mercier Orchards, a 75 year old family orchard. Play a round of golf at Old Toccoa Farm, Fannin County’s first and only golf course that fronts 4,000+ feet of the Toccoa River and offers immaculate zoysia tees and fairways along with challenging bent grass greens. Catch a trout on the tailwaters of the Toccoa River or a clear mountain stream; Blue Ridge is the Trout Fishing Capital of Georgia. You will not be lacking in things to do in the area. Or ... just kick back, relax, and enjoy the cabin.
Visit the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce website for much more visitor information. And since we are in what is known as the Tri-State Adventure Area due to our closeness to TN and NC, you may want to visit the Chamber of Commerce sites of the following counties: Gilmer (Ellijay area), Union (Blairsville area), Towns (Young Harris & Hiawassee area), Polk County, TN (Copperhill area), and Cherokee County, NC (Murphy area).
There's a lot to do here and the surrounding areas. Too much for a short visit. Have fun!
