House vacation rentals in Hilo

We’ve visited all islands and specified ocean front condos & houses. Pali Hale is by far the best value with beautiful sunrises.Our stays total 5 and easily would have been doubled if availability had met our schedule. The only drawback being rush hour traffic; recommend departures at 10am/returns (or trips to Pahoa) at 3pm; plenty of shopping opportunities prior to dinner (our favorite non-ocean front restaurant is Kaleo’s; cute place and no shrinkflation portion sizes with prices 30% lower that Kona). One final idea; if heading home after your stay, our preferred non-stop flights originate in Kona. It’s a long day catching the American non stop red eye to Phoenix, but beautiful drive north on highway 19 (take advantage of several scenic stops, ocean & waterfall, along the way) with perfect final dinner at Lava Lava Beach Club in Waikoloa.

Highly recommend Morris’s place for adventures on the East side of Big Island! It was perfectly located to go north into Hilo, east to beautiful sunrise spots, west to caverns of fire, and south to Volcanos National Park. The other reviews aren’t exaggerating when they say this place is stocked with everything you could need and more. The beds are super comfortable and we all slept so well every night. The best part though was Morris himself. We asked for a garden tour and he was so amazing and sweet, and brought us fruits from his garden to try. His dog Peach was so adorable and friendly too. We would absolutely stay here again next time!

This is a gem. Super quiet (except the cows and frogs which we LOVED). Doug was super helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the location and recommendations. Definitely need a car but worth it.

This quiet, comfortable and clean place is a wonderful spot to stay for several days while visiting the Volcano area. One of our favorite places!

Very good location between the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Hilo. Grocery store and a few restaurants 8 minutes away. Very private and relaxing. I would stay here again.

Maricel's place was as described. We had a very good stay here. It is a very good location for all the good sightseeing and adventure on this side of the island.

The volcano house was home away from home . We loved the vibe ,the location close to the National Park was a huge advantage. There are some nice restaurants around for meals and a convenience store for some quick grocery shopping . Would love to come back sometime.

Great place to stay. The bedding is super comfy. The room is really clean. The host is really responsive. The host replied really quickly. The housing is big and lovely. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.

My family and I loved staying here . The amenities were great and the free snackies and useful pantry items were appreciated especially by my toddler! I would definitely stay here again. It was soo nice to be away from the hustle and bustle . The coqui noises in the evening was great . The place even offered toddler plates and bowls and snack cup! I highly recommend staying here and eating at Pāhoa fish and any food along that shopping strip.

Great place to stay while visiting the Hilo side of the island! Hosts provided very clear instructions for check in, and were very responsive to messages and questions. We met Garvin and he was very friendly and welcoming, but they also gave us plenty of privacy. We loved eating breakfast on the lanai while enjoying an ocean view. I was afraid the frogs would be too noisy at night, but with the windows closed and the provided fan running I couldn’t hear them at all and slept great. We will definitely be back next time we visit Hawaii.

This is probably the best option available on airbnb in Hilo. You get a 180degree Oceanview from the living space and kitchen, thanks to big windows overlooking the Hilo harbor. Or you can sit on the Lanai and watch the surfers rip the waves right in front of the house. The pool is clean and nice place to relax if you want to stay in. Only a few minutes from all Hilo attractions. I highly recommend this place

the house and the location are beyond expectation. If you are looking to escape the crazy world , this is the place. the property is beautiful and at the ocean side of the property you can walk out the gate and walk 2 miles of pristine , undeveloped Hawaiian shoreline . The view and the peacefulness can not be accurately described. you can also walk the road you take to the house and enjoy addition beautify views. you might encounter a boar and her family on your walk. I would suggest on you way to the house you buy breakfast materials ( at the least) the closest restaurants is 10 miles away and Hilo is 16 miles. There are many secretes to explore on the Hilo side of the island and it is never that busy. The house is fully stocked with most everything you will need.

Great stay! Very relaxing and peaceful place. Place had everything we needed from cooking, grilling, relaxing in the pool overlooking the ocean and wifi/TV. Stayed in other Air bnb’s in this area. So far the has been the best by far. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room. Check in was easy and accommodating for our early arrival. Thanks again for a great vacation, we will be back!

The place was very modern and clean. Gina was welcoming and gave us a tour to help us get settled and provided a great dinner recommendation. Although Gina and her family live in the building next door, our stay felt very private. I appreciated the little details like being provided beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, ice packs, drinking water, etc. It made day trips and a beach day so much easier. We used the kitchen to make breakfast every morning which was very convenient. There was a variety of different condiments in the fridge, but no olive/cooking oil, so Gina provided us olive oil from her home so we could cook some eggs! We also enjoyed the pool and wished we had more time to swim in it. The views of the cliffs and the ocean, a short walk from the house, was beautiful. Also, the bed was extremely comfy.

Kaleo was a wonderful host- very friendly & responsive! Her home was very comfortable & convenient to restaurants/beaches in Hilo. We especially loved relaxing on the back patio in the mornings & evenings. One thing to note is the 2nd bedroom & laundry requires going outside & downstairs which is a little inconvenient/dark at night.

I highly recommend this place! Julie and Logan were very responsive and made sure our stay was great. They checked on us after our first night and asked if they could do anything to make it better. I didn’t need anything because we fell in love with their home. There are cats roaming around and occasionally get in but this is stated before booking so we were fine with it. We actually wanted to take a kitten home with us. Lol. The home was clean and I was surprised that there were no bugs inside the home. We will definitely be back!

This was the best AirBnB stay I have had in years. The location is truly breathtaking and filled with natural beauty. Brenda is a great host that has thought of everything with this location and you will not want for comforts while you visit.

Loved the setting. We live rural at home so a 20 min drive to Hilo not an issue for us. Views from all sides is the house were amazing.

What a serene beautiful place for our “east island/volcano” getaway from Kona. Our adult daughter was with us and loved the private accommodation. She was working part of the time and found the perfect work space looking at the green, peaceful yard, wild turkeys and cute kitties. We wish we had planned on more than two nights. Great dinners at Tuk Tuk Thai truck and Kiluea Lodge, though we could have cooked more than breakfast in cottage which had complete kitchen. Also loved the hot tub our first night..it was all ready for use.

An absolute dream come true. I have followed this home since it was for sale on Zillow and was overjoyed to find it on Airbnb. I based most my trip to Hawaii on this home and it did not disappoint. Everything about this home is perfection. You feel like you are in a jungle a million miles away, but you are just a few miles from the town. I would highly recommend this home and would love more than anything to return! It’s a must stay!

We had a magical stay! From the adorable geckos to the sound of the waves, I can’t recommend enough. This home had what we needed, including great internet. Very close to the breathtaking black sands beach. Staying here felt like being transported to another world - the house is very private, and absolutely beautiful inside.
