What happens after I apply for a photo shoot?
After an eligible host applies for a photo shoot, we retain independent, third-party photographers to handle the request. If a photographer is available, they should reach out to you via the Airbnb messaging system within 7 days of your request. You'll know it's an Airbnb photographer contacting you since all our photographers have a verified badge on their profile. You also receive their contact information when they accept the assignment. As not all areas have photographers, it's possible we may not be able to meet your request.
Once a photographer accepts the assignment, you'll work together to set up a time that suits you both. Be sure that your contact details are up to date and to schedule the shoot for a date when you do not have guests.
A photography shoot of an apartment typically takes 30 minutes, while larger spaces can take up to an hour. Times may vary, so please check with the photographer to see how much time will be needed. Ensure to set aside enough time to make sure you get the best photos possible. You will also want to clean and tidy up your space in preparation for the shoot.
After your shoot, photos are typically uploaded, reviewed, and made public on the site within 4 weeks. We review every photo taken by our photographers and only accept shoots that meet our standards. Occasionally, photos need to be sent back for additional post-processing and editing, which can take additional time, or we many need a second photo shoot to get quality images.
