As featured on A&E’s Living Smaller (Episode 8), the Tiny Geopod offers a unique and upscale experience for the nature loving adventurer. Have it both ways with a retreat in nature & a 5 minute walk to historic Todd or 20 min drive to Boone & W.Jefferson. Enjoy the Tiny Pod and outdoor spaces with hot tub, fire table, gazebo and comfy outdoor furniture. Cook in the Pod's outdoor kitchen (NOTE: kitchen modified during winter) or grill. Relax & refresh while experiencing the joy of tiny living!

The space
The Tiny Geopod was designed and built with the vision for simple yet comfortable living that supports a deep connection with nature and a smaller footprint on the planet. The meticulously designed 130 square foot Tiny Geopod makes use of every inch and lacks for nothing.

With the small interior footprint, the majority of the space is dedicated to three truly magical outdoor areas. The outdoor main deck is equipped with a breakfast bar area, gas fire pit, and seating area to relax and enjoy nature in. The second outdoor space brings you even further among the trees, accentuating the winter views of the mountains. Read a good book, take a nap, or enjoy the view of the trees while relaxing on the outdoor patio furniture or relax in the hot tub after a nice day of hiking. The third space is a unique outdoor kitchen (Note: this space is partially functional during winter - see details below) and bathroom space. Cook delicious meals on the cute small gas stove top or grill to your heart's content on the stainless 3 burner gas grill. You can expect to see birds, deer, and other wildlife about while you enjoy the outdoors.

The Tiny Geopod itself was built with all the essentials and packaged into a cozy, comfortable, and retreat-like space. With an emphasis on sustainability, the home is partially powered from a local community solar installation. A well equipped kitchen (Note: details on modified partially functional kitchen during winter/late spring below), unique high end bathroom, convertible working/dining area, and a comfy sleeping space with cozy sheets are a few of the features. Use the high speed wifi to watch a movie on your laptop or tablet while relaxing after a day of exploring. A coffee and tea bar, along with shampoos/soaps are just a few of the other amenities provided.

Note on modified kitchen (during winter/ early spring when freezing temps occur): The kitchen faucet will be shut off during this time but water can be obtained from the sink in the fully functional heated bathroom. During this time, disposable plates/cutlery will be provided and the grill, with provided grilling tools, can be used for cooking. A French coffee press, water kettle, and coffee/creamer/sugar will also be provided. You YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO POTS OR PANS for the stove since there isn't a good way to wash them.

Guest access
Guests will have PRIVATE access to the whole Tiny Geopod, the kitchen/bathhouse, and the patio area with hot tub, gazebo, and 2 fire tables

Other things to note
LOCATION: The Geopod is located on an approximately 3 acre plot of land with 2 other tiny house rentals that can be booked separately or, depending on availability, can be rented together. We emphasize privacy and have set up each home to maximize guest seclusion and minimize visibility of the properties from each other. Also to note, the Geopod is located in close proximity to NC 194, a lightly traveled paved road with occasional traffic. Guests should be aware that they will hear the occasional car pass by.

ACCESSIBILITY: To reach the Tiny Geopod, you must climb up the steps from the parking spot and follow the approximately 150 foot pathway to your tiny destination.

HEATING/COOLING: The Tiny Geopod is equipped with central ducted heating and cooling as well as dedicated small additional heaters. However, please be aware that the Pod is not insulated like regular houses and will not heat and cool as well. Please be prepared with warm clothing in the winter!

KITCHEN: Unfortunately, the kitchen sink will be closed during winter/early months to avoid freezing pipes. but water can be obtained from the sink in the fully functional heated bathroom.

PARKING: You will have one dedicated parking space for your use during your stay. If you have another vehicle or are towing a trailer, you can park it across the street in a large pullout.
