Two master bedrooms. The first is in the loft with a California King bed, a full bathroom, a large walk-in closet (that can be used as a baby's bedroom), and a reading balcony that overlooks the main room. This bedroom is semi-private, up in the rafters without a door. It adds to the charm of the home. (Even though the Swiss Chalet has 4 bedrooms, it's also a prime destination for a romantic getaway for two, cuddled in the loft.)

The second master bedroom is located on the lower level (under the main living level) and is fully private with a queen bed and en suite bathroom with bathtub and shower.

There are two bedrooms on the main level. One has two, twin-over-twin bunk beds. The other is directly across the hall with a twin-over-full bunk bed.

The Swiss Chalet is perfect for two families vacationing together: the parents each have a master, and the children sleep in the two bunk rooms. It is also an ideal property for an extended family gathering.

The main room is centered around the wood burning stove. There are comfortable couches and club chairs that beckon you to sit, slow down, and connect. There is a foosball table.

The deck is the place to relax and breathe in the mountain air. It feels like you are sitting on the deck of a cruise ship. There is excellent star-gazing.

The kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to cook. There is a pancake griddle, a waffle iron, a crockpot, a drip coffee maker, a Brita water filter, and a European stovetop espresso maker.

Fast, reliable WiFi.
Smart TV.
Humidifier available for your use.
Ceiling fans. No air conditioning.

Guest access
This is a property for able-bodied guests: you have to climb two flights of stairs to access the front door. The driveway is steep; we ask you to reverse up the driveway and drive a 4WD vehicle in the winter. You also have the option to park on the flat parking strip along the road that belongs to the property. 3 cars maximum at the property.

Other things to note
•No parties. Respect the neighbors and follow quiet hours (9 pm-8 am).

•The house has a high deck. Be vigilant of young children, never let children play outside alone.

Neighborhood highlights

*** 30 minutes to Bear Valley Mountain, 10 minutes to the grocery store, 5 minutes to Big Trees State Park.

Arnold is located in the Central Sierra, a short 2.5 hour drive from the Bay Area (if you time it right). This is the closest snow to the Bay Area. The cabin sits right above snow line, at 4,500 feet elevation. This mountain destination flies under the radar, it's like a well kept secret. Come and discover this beautiful, quiet gem that rivals Tahoe.

The cabin is located in the Blue Lake Springs neighborhood of Arnold. Guests have access (for a fee) to the Recreation Center: pool, two lakes, tennis, basketball, and more.

Downtown Arnold is 10 minutes down the road where there is an excellent, full-service grocery store as well as a variety of restaurants; you drive right through town on your way to the house.

Big Trees State Park is a 5 minute drive and a must-see: they've turned the fallen Giant Sequoias into a veritable obstacle course.

Bear Valley Ski Resort is 30 minutes up the road. Lake Alpine is just beyond Bear Valley. The Arnold Rim Trail is easily accessible from the cabin and is a prime place for backpacking, hiking, running, and biking adventures.

Our favorite local restaurants are Sarafina's Italian Kitchen, Giant Burger, and The Lube Room.
