Enjoy few crowds and take the family to our kid-friendly beach house! Awesome, cottage in between Seaside and Astoria. Our adorable home is walking distance to the beach and we pride ourselves in offering a fabulous experience for guests. We lovingly remodeled a 1930 cottage into a great retreat.

The space
We own and operate a small vacation rental business: Norway Properties. We've been in the vacation rental business for 20 years, and our experience shows. All of our homes are legal, registered vacation rentals. We have 4 vacation rentals in Oregon (all on Airbnb)--the state we were both born in and still love to pieces. Our homes are all moderately sized, but packed with features, amenities and coziness. People consistently give us excellent reviews and often say our homes are the nicest Airbnb homes that they have experienced.

*We do have a minimum age requirement of 25 years old.

We bought the Norway Cottage in 2010 after falling in love with the location. We are native Oregonians and have a special place in our heart for the Oregon Coast. In addition, we raised 5 children so understand what kids (and parents) need when on vacation! :-) This is a unique, small little neighborhood and we've remodeled the cottage to be a special, cozy place for couples or families. We are located just a 5-7 minute walk directly down the street to the beach. If you'd rather drive, you can drive right onto the beach from our road--making a long day at the beach with all your gear very convenient. Or you can play at the playground across the street or play in the lake, we're only about 200 yards away from both. The home has two bedrooms with very comfy beds for 6. In addition, we have lots of extras; Nice, newer furnishings, brand new appliances, counters, and fireplace in 2018, great decor, ping pong table, clam guns, gas BBQ, bikes, lots of sand toys, games, Xbox One game system and TVs with DVD players in 3 rooms. Our kitchen is very well equipped and even though the space is relatively small, it's open and laid out well. The gas fireplace is super cozy for those chilly Oregon seasons. We have a 50' parking area so that you can bring your boat if fishing is what you've come to the coast for. We have been in the vacation rental business for 20 years. People are not disappointed as we do our very best to make your stay enjoyable, hassle free and offer a lot of extra details. We even have a hot water hose for you to clean your footsies.

We also have the Lewis and Clark Bungalow home (3 bed/2bath) right down the street. If you have a large group, you can reserve both! Check out our other rentals as well!

Guest access
We provide access instructions about one week prior to your arrival. We will send you a notification through Airbnb app with directions, access instructions, house rules, as well as tips for a great trip to our area.

Other things to note
We are a legal rental within Clatsop County and we pay the 10.5% transient tax required by the county. We have built that into the cost of the nightly rentals. In addition, we have our house professionally cleaned every time someone departs. That cost is in addition to the nightly fee. We are not the cheapest rental out there, but we are one of the nicest small homes available. Almost every guest feels the cost is well worth it!

Neighborhood highlights

Our lovely cottage is situated between a lake and the grand Pacific Ocean. You can drive down the road directly onto the beach--one of the few spots in the area where you have direct beach access. In addition, right across the street is a small playground, and between us and the Ocean is the Lewis & Clark National Historic park--full of hiking trails. This provides lots of options for outdoor activities including swimming, fishing, clamming, beach fires, sand-dollar searching, and lots of other great Oregon past times.

My husband and I are both Oregonians and love the outdoors. We fell in love with all the awesome things to do around Oregon. (Hiking, biking, boating, white-water rafting, skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, clamming, and visiting the local English Pub! :-) We have 5 children ages 26-32 and know what it's like going on vacation with kids, so all of our homes have kid rooms and activities that make both kids and parents happy. We have 4 vacation homes around Oregon so that we can escape our corporate jobs and enjoy our beautiful state to the fullest. We strive to create an "above and beyond" experience for our guests--adding many additional amenities that will make your stay comfortable, easy and stress free. Our goal in sharing our cute and comfortable homes is to expose more people to the beauty around Oregon. We strive to provide a well-priced, comfortable place to relax at while you enjoy the awesome outdoor activities in the area.
