Our vision and dream was to create a space inspired by southwest design and architecture. A space that would fit naturally into the stunning landscape of canyons, mountains, buttes, gorges, slot canyons and deserts. With red adobe tones throughout and green sage trims, we hope as you adventure outside you will transition into our accommodation with ease. Have any questions? Shoot us a message. We love connecting with our guests.

Quiet Shelters Adobe Retreat is open simplified living that feels spacious yet not overwhelming. Built with clean lines, concrete floors and countertops, and windows on all sides, you will love how light shifts in the mornings and afternoons.

Grab your cup of coffee at dawn and sit in our rock table courtyard. The rising sun turns the sandstone butte behind the abode a dazzling pink. In the afternoons lounge and BBQ in the shaded east patio. Each of the Adobe’s three patios offers unique views perfect for taking in the beauty of the landscape and wildlife.

Slow down, rest , and gather inspiration. Turn on a bespoke Quiet Shelters' spotify playlist or put on a Miles Davis record. Grab the deck of conversation cards and dive into meaningful topics with your loved one. Read Mary Oliver's collection of poems on the oversized linen sofa.

Meditate as you walk on the gravel pathways around the casita, or continue off the property onto public land behind the house. With Kanab being a "dark sky city" you will appreciate the stargazing.

We hope you’ll fall as deeply in love with this space and the land as we have. Our goal is to make your stay comfortable, inviting, and inspiring—a true escape from the everyday.

Feel free to check us out on social @quietshelters. If we are fortunate to host you please tag us on your adventures!

"This very well may be the best AirBnb experience I have ever had. Heather is a fantastic host - communicative and easy to reach when needed. The space itself is otherworldly with each window offering its own unique view of the surrounding area. We felt inspired to explore the nearby parks and monuments and were equally as excited to have a peaceful and restorative space to return to in the evening. Heather offered plenty of suggestions ranging from well-known tourist destinations to off-the-beaten-path local favorites. It was difficult to fit in everything we wanted to see in this beautiful region! Most of all, I appreciated Heather's intentionality in designing the space which, in turn, encouraged us to be intentional in how we occupy both the space and the area overall. The furnishings, decor, scents, textures - all of it is just right, and each detail serves its purpose in creating a space that both restores and inspires. Highly recommend and hope to return some day!"

Neighborhood highlights

We are located in the upper "Ranchos" in Kanab. This area is only two miles from downtown and grocery stores, yet still feels secluded. The neighbors in our community are quiet and friendly.

The small town of Kanab, Utah sits smack dab in the middle of the classic American West and the wonder of existence is emphasized here. Like the wild desert flowers, Kanab vibrantly facilitates the arts, delicious cuisine, small town cowboy grit, and adventure travelers.

Hollywood has flocked to this small town for over 80 years. Located halfway between St. George and Lake Powell, Kanab is a gateway and basecamp for colossal vistas, southern Utah's National Parks, and veins of deep slot canyons, including the deepest slot canyon on the planet. It is sexy, rustic, raw, and a trip of a lifetime. Come explore with Quiet Shelters as your guide.
