Welcome to Sand Castles Cottages, Cottage 3. (See all nine at www.airbnb.com/p/scc) We are one mile to two public beaches, located between St. Joseph & South Haven, MI. Our property is unique in that we have 9 vacation rental cottages on one acre. See all nine at www.airbnb.com/p/scc. These little cottages were built between the 1930s-50s and is one of the last properties of this type along Lake Michigan in this area. We have tried to keep the old charm while adding modern amenities.

The space
Cottage 3 is an ORIGINAL TINY HOUSE! We have tried to keep this 1940s cottage’s charming vintage feel but updated this cottage with modern amenities.
This studio cottage sleeps 2 with a queen bed, all linens provided. There is a private bathroom with shower and a kitchenette. A table for two is inside and outside on the screened porch.
Basically everything is provided for your stay except personal toiletries and food. There is an HDTV with Roku providing hundreds of channels and WiFi.
Outside there is a gas grill and charcoal grill (charcoal not included but often left from previous guests) plus a communal fire pit nearby (firewood provided). We now have two screened in gazebos that are available to all our guests. There are outdoor games between cottages 3 and 8.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use communal fire pits (firewood provided), outdoor games, and picnic tables. Each cottage is outfitted with a grill. Cottage 3 has a charcoal grill but charcoal is not provided, although often left by previous guests or easily accessible at Dollar General a couple blocks away. There is also a communal gas grill by the fire pit nearby.

Other things to note
Check in is anytime after 4 pm and check out is by 11 am, eastern time.
We are located on a very convenient lakeshore road between St. Joseph and South Haven. There can be traffic noise.
No pets! If we see you with a pet you will lose your deposit and be asked to remove the pet immediately.

We are in a residential neighborhood with road frontage on a two lane lakeshore highway, m63. M63 will take you directly to St. Joseph, MI (10 miles) or South Haven, MI (12 miles). Hagar Park and Roadside park are public beach access points one mile from the cottages. Hagar Park has a large playground and picnic area. DiMaggio’s pizza is 1 mile N and Dollar General is walking distance.

Sand Castles Cottages is truly a family run business! We purchased the cottages 12 years ago and our family has grown up around them. Traveling with our homeschooled kids has been part of our life and we split time between Michigan and Florida. The beach is one of our favorite places to be!
