Our smaller unit is like a hotel room. It has a queen size bed and a sleeper sofa. You have your own small kitchen. A patio in the front that over looks the back yard and the burn pit. The small bathroom has a fabulous shower and plenty of hot water. Stocked with fluffy towels and comfy bedding this place is truly a hideaway. The kitchenette has a microwave, nice slice fridge and plenty of other kitchen utensils and dishes.

This was the perfect place for our family to celebrate my Mother’s life. The tranquility was healing. We really appreciated the space for family to gather and the children loved all the outdoor space. Although we live in Atlantic, IA, we needed a bigger house to accommodate our family members. Emily's house fit the bill. With spacious bedrooms, a kitchen that let us all cook at the same time, a huge family table, and a clean environment, it was perfect for our family Thanksgiving. Emily answered all of my questions promptly and was very accommodating to our needs. This was a great experience and relieved the stress of planning Thanksgiving accommodations for our family of 16. We will be staying again.

We had a great stay at Shella’s place — the house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Shella was a great host and very responsive. The only thing to note is that the last 4 miles of the drive to the house are on an unpaved road, so just be prepared for that. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Thank you, Shella!

Loved our stay. 2 days there were 13 of us definitely tested the capacity lots of room. My husband and I added a day , he seldom gets summer vacations. Bring blankets especially if people sleeping on couches. More kitchen stocking if doing a lot of cooking. The house was awesome one level especially the game room extra space. Two sleeper sofa’s would work in there. Lots of room for large groups. Fire pit and pool absolutely great. Patio and two doors on the poolside was very useful. I did call Douglas with a few questions, very accommodating and friendly.

Linda was very responsive and helpful for check-in and for any questions that I had. The cottage was very clean and neat and had many very helpful things for our visit. I do think that with as much space as the cottage had that there could’ve been more than two guests allowed.
