Black Twig Cottage This delightful cottage welcomes guests with a sense of "coming home." One can see and feel the cottage has been loved as well as lived in over many years. Each room's furnishings, window treatments as well as special nooks for a variety of activities: games, writing, media, and reading add to Black Twig's charm. We especially enjoyed the front and back porches with tables, chairs and lounges from which to enjoy nature and wild life, deer at dusk and early morning birds. The floor plan allows flexibility for privacy as well as formal and informal spaces for meals and snacks. When in season, fresh garden vegetables and fruit can be picked several steps from the back porch. Highly recommend, if you're traveling to this Roanoke-Blacksburg countryside location. Barbie Ewert

We loved our stay at the Ridge House! The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The house was very cozy and was great for our family of 6. Loved that it was a single level. It really felt like a home away from home. Thank you for hosting us Sheena & Derek!

My adult children and I were in the area to hike Virginia's "triple crown". I chose this cabin based on the location. The 3 trailheads are all within 10-20 minutes. The cabin is in a beautiful setting looking over a trout pond (they love it when you toss them some of the provided food). We were very comfortable in the well appointed cabin and the host was very responsive. 5 star experience.

My family really enjoyed this stay. Everything we could have needed was provided and more. Nice home with responsive and helpful host. Some amazing restaurants in town and nothing ever seemed to be more than about 13 minutes away, most things we did were less.
