How does Airbnb process payments?
Here’s how Airbnb processes payments:
- Airbnb charges guests when the reservation is confirmed
- Airbnb releases money to hosts 24 hours after the guest checks in
Using Airbnb’s payment system is required to make a reservation, and it helps ensure that both parties are protected under our Terms of Service, cancellation policies, Guest Refund Policy, and other safeguards.
Payouts to hosts
To check the status of your payout, visit your Transaction History.
Once Airbnb has sent your payout, a “Payout” line item appears for that reservation. It may take up to a week for your payment processor to complete the transaction after Airbnb releases the funds.
Payments from guests
You’ll be charged for the total cost of your reservation when it’s confirmed.
Reservation requests are confirmed when they’re accepted by the host, Instant Book reservations are confirmed immediately.
