Villa vacation rentals in São Miguel Island

A modern and well-equipped house with a beautiful garden. The views are fantastic—you can see the mountains, the sea, and even a landscape with cows. There is plenty of room, and it is a very peaceful place. We stayed for one week, hiking and enjoying the fantastic mountains of the Azores. A car is essential for getting to shops, restaurants, and other places.

We are so sad to leave this beautiful place! The house’s description is very accurate to the T: perfect location- you will be able to explore the island easily, 4 equally sized bedrooms with a pullout as an extra, kitchen with all the utensils, pots, glasses, ect. Our favorite part was the rooftop deck with sunrises and sunrises! The host graciously made the reservations for local restaurants and recommended some extra activities that we didn’t include in our original plans. The communication was easy - usually reply came in 30 min. We would happily recommend this place to our friends and hopefully come back soon. Note: the house has lots of stairs that can create problems for people with limited mobility. It was not an issue for us but it might be an issue for some.

Very nice place, from comfy beds to a beautiful living room, we really enjoyed staying in the house! BBQ pit was a great addition - used it almost every night. And it's sooooo quiet! Will be back again!

Lovely layout, suited our needs well. Easy walk to the trail along the ocean and very close to restaurants and bars. We loved the local flavour of the neighbourhood. A short drive/bus to Ponta Delgada. 15-20 to many adventure spots. We would highly recommend this place.

Roberto's apartment was amazing, very large and spacious, and the courtyard was also very large and private. We especially liked the large kitchen that was equipped with everything you need for cooking. Roberto responded super quickly to any questions. There was a large parking lot about 100 meters from the house where you could park. The area was quiet and the apartment is right next to one of the beautiful traditional churches. When checking in, we had no problems, only the lock on the door was a little hard to get, but with a little force and shaking it worked. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the apartment ☺️

The place was lovely. It looked exactly like the photos and was very large and modernly furnished. There was everything we needed. We especially liked that everything is air-conditioned, a washing machine is available and the water warms up quickly. César was easy to reach, thanks for everything!

Max was a great host, constantly responsive and a really nice person!

João's place was a great home base for our Azores adventure. It's a nice central location on the island, and a beautiful house and area. The whole place was spotless and the kitchen was great for making breakfast and coffee. There is a small grocery store within walking distance, but otherwise a car is required for the area so thankfully parking was very easy. Highly recommended!

A perfect space for two couples to enjoy a comfortable space and a good central location on the island to experience and explore. We enjoyed relaxed evenings in the hot tub! Joao was a lovely and responsive host and went the extra mile for us to be comfortable.

Lotus House was sensational! We were a family group ranging in ages from 17 months old to 67 years old , and the house and property were comfortable and suitable for all ages. We were thrilled to see papayas and bananas growing in the yard. The kitchen really is well equipped- we fell in love with the espresso machine. There are comfortable mattresses on all the beds and plenty of towels and bath supplies. The heated pool, hot tub, and grounds made being at home so much fun. Even when it was 56 degrees and raining we were in the pool, and it was still comfortable. The AL Acores management team was impressively responsive. We had a very minor plumbing issue which was fixed within hours. When we arrived there were diapers in the crib, which was very thoughtful, and when one of the kids needed to see a doctor, we got excellent advice and thoughtful followup check-ins. I've stayed in a lot of airbnbs, and this is definitely one of the best.

Traveling as a family of 5 and our stay could not have been more perfect! Definitely one of our favorite Airbnbs. We loved the location, felt safe, private yet easily accessible to everything- perfect spot on the island to explore- rental car a must. Lagoa is a cute little town with great nearby restaurants and cafes. The beds were very comfortable, spacious layout, great washer/ dryer and we felt like we were staying in a mini castle! It’s hard to describe the beauty of the views from the terraces but drinking tea in the morning and sitting outside was the best way to start each day and a feeling I hope stays with me. Maria left delicious treats that were very much appreciated on arrival. We will think back fondly on our trip to Sao Miguel and are grateful we had the opportunity to stay here! We will never forget it and hope to return one day!

If I could give six stars I would. Here's why: The house is modern, airy, well-appointed, bright and stylishly decorated. All fixtures functioned flawlessly and we never wanted for appliances, supplies or a utensil. The floor to ceiling windows of the main floor offered all-day views of the stunning ocean and countryside. The location can't be beat, with easy walking to the swimming pools, markets, and the numerous excellent restaurants in town. Despite its centrality, it felt private, safe, and peaceful. Plus, being central on the island, no attraction was ever far away. But the most appealing part of the experience was the graciousness of our host Pedro. Always ready with an answer, suggestion, and willing to help with whatever was asked. He communicated quickly and kindly, and as we sensed from pretty much all of the native Azoreans we met, truly loved Sao Miguel and wanted to share it with us. Could not ask for a better experience. Look forward to coming back!

We had a great stay and everyone in the group loved the home. It’s large and spacious and the pool was especially nice. Conveniently located near the city. I highly recommend.

Pedro and his family are super hosts. The home was fantastic and everything was just perfect. A fantastic stay enjoyed by all 8 of us.

Our host Tiago answered his phone every time I called. He was helpful with directions and assisted with all we needed or requested immediately. Very responsive and kind. We loved the layout of the home. Easy access in the door, the bedroom and bathroom walkin shower for very good for elderly people. All the rest including the awesome pool and view was great for the rest. We had 8 persons and we hope to come back again.

This place was amazing! Super cozy and full of nice little touches — you can feel it was made with love. The beds were really comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Making pizza in the oven was a highlight! The host was super friendly and helpful, always easy to reach and made check-in simple. The garden is lovely and full of plants — very relaxing. The location is perfect, probably the best on the island! It’s really quiet and beautiful. We loved biking around the lakes nearby — such a nice experience. Thanks a lot, it was one of the best stays for me and my friends. Totally recommend!

The host Cristina was great. Very responsive to questions and requests. The house was amazing. Lots of room, great pool. I would recommend booking the house if you are going to stay in Sao Miguel. Great place location was easy to get everywhere

What a beautiful place to stay. Great location for exploring the rest of the island. We really appreciated the welcome basket, the comfy beds and the great shower Just a few minutes walk from the ocean. I was the only one in our group who was brave enough to get into the pool (not heated) but we were there during a cloudy time. that was not super warm. it would be totally refreshing in the summer!

This was an amazing place to stay. Incredible views and a great base to explore the west part of the island from. Just need to watch the hot water with the solar. We ran out over a couple of cloudy days. Will definitely be back. Carlos was responsive and helpful

Papi and her husband were great hosts! We got in at midnight and she was awake to make sure we got inside and settled down. The house is beautiful and matches the pictures/description. She gave us a shelf in the refrigerator and an off-street parking spot in her driveway. She was quick to respond to messages giving us helpful recommendations for the island. Very kind and generous. She also has a very friendly cat, Oscar! I Would absolutely recommend staying with Papi!

Excellent house for our extended family group of 8. The pool is not heated so it’s a bit cold, but the backyard is very peaceful and the house is well equipped and a great home base to explore the island. It’s right outside Ponta Delgada and easy to pop into town. Highly recommend.
