Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Saint Peter

It would be easy to end up in the wrong area or with a bland villa in Barbados, but Mustard Seed is ideal on both counts. Sally at Chestertons was extremely helpful, this is not the cheapest holiday, but you definitely get what you pay for. Everything was made safe for children - we had a toddler in the group - and the very well appointed rooms had quirkiness and an authentic tropics vibe. Walkable excellent beach and restaurants, but I would recommend the concierge service for airport transfers, initial food shopping and car hire. You're better with your own car. Great holiday, great villa, great host.

Incredible villa in an amazing location walkable to beautiful Gibbes Bay and Mullins Beach. Plenty of space for three generations of our family to celebrate a big birthday. The gardens are mature and so lovely. We saw monkeys and humming birds regularly from the deck. Clean and tidy, we wanted for nothing. The pool was delightful and very well maintained. Communication with Sarah was absolutely brilliant, and her recommendations top drawer! Can’t fault our stay at all- I sincerely hope we will be back again soon, thank you. *****

The villa was perfect for us. As other reviews have mentioned the view is unbeatable and the whole villa is great for large groups / families with lots of seating areas. Both David and Chris were really helpful and responsive - any small issues or questions we had during our stay were resolved quickly by Chris, they also provided travel cots and high chair for our babies. The pool is lovely, kitchen well stocked and great that every room is en suite. Location is quieter than other parts of the island which and the local eating options are really good and the small beach / jetty for sea swimming is less than 5min walk. We would definitely recommend Six Men’s villa to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We travelled with two young children and Donna was so accommodating throughout to ensure we had the best holiday. The location of the house was perfect, just over the road from the gorgeous Mullins Beach. The house had everything we needed with two en suite bathrooms, a nice large living area and external patio and outside area. The outdoor shower was useful. We will definitely be back when we next travel to Barbados. Thank you Donna.

Very clean and as described

Our stay at this property was excellent. The house is lovely and we were impressed by the immaculate condition. The attention to detail in maintenance and cleanliness was evident throughout our stay. A big highlight is the location. Situated just a 5 minute walk from the stunning Mullins Beach, and a 20 minute walk to Speightstown. The proximity to local bars and restaurants was also a huge plus. Battaley Mews itself is a very well-kept development, the communal areas were always very clean and well-maintained reflecting the high standard of the entire complex. What truly set this experience apart was the excellent communication and assistance from the property management team. They were responsive, helpful, and special mention must be made of their exceptional service when we accidentally left an essential bag behind after check-out. The team's prompt action and willingness to assist in returning our belongings showcased amazing commitment to guest satisfaction - thank you!

We were very lucky to spend a whole month in the house and didn’t want to leave! On arrival we were warmly greeted and immediately felt at home and relaxed. Inside, the house is spacious accommodating 4 adults comfortably. There are choices for outside living, either out on the front veranda or where we enjoyed most of our time in the well lit partially covered back yard, eating, drinking and playing dominoes until late! The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed to prepare family meals during our stay. The washing machine was a real bonus, especially with the large back yard covered drying area. The location in Speightstown is perfect for walkable access to all the local beaches, bars, restaurants, shops and Island bus routes. We felt very well connected at the heart of the community in a friendly neighbourhood where everyone says “Hello” and has time for a chat! We will definitely be booking again and can’t wait to come back to stay.

Ideal location walkable to beautiful beach (Heywoods), bus terminal and Jordans. Very nice neighbourhood, friendly neighbours who were very helpful. We have booked again for next year.

We had a great stay. One Queen Street is a small block of four apartments built about 4 years ago and our unit was elegantly and tastefully furnished The flat was kept extremely clean by the lovely Denise and Asante. A ten minute walk takes you to the shops and restaurants in Speightstown which has a terrific selection of both bars and restaurants to eat in. A highlight was the beach which was only a few minutes walk from the apartment and which was almost deserted most days as it is difficult to find the way onto it unless you know of the cut through to it. Although not right on the beach we had a green outlook and caught glimpses of monkeys on their evening stroll across our garden wall. Jazz, our host, who is charming, was exceptionally helpful throughout our stay and is very knowledgeable about the area. Wish we were still there!

Located in a quiet neighbourhood in Mullins, this modern studio was the perfect accommodation. The super clean, well equipped unit is set in a lush, green garden where we watched the tropical birds and even a group of monkeys. Our on-site hosts James and Aimee were friendly and gave us good information on local restaurants, beaches and transport. We were just 10 minutes walk to the beautiful Mullins beach and the fabulous Sea Shed restaurant( book early). We hopped on local buses and enjoyed trips to the beautiful beaches of Holetown and Speightstown. We were able to have a great holiday in one of the best parts of Barbados without paying for an expensive hotel.

It’s about a 5 minutes walk to the Bus stop ; so if you are not up for the walk I recommend having a rental car .

We’ve stayed at lots of AirBnBs all over the world and Pierre’s place will stay in our hearts! It is spacious, breezy, well equipped and comfortable. The big balcony is a lovely place to hang out and the laundry rack and clothes line thoughtfully provided. Pierre is around if you need him and even took us on a walk to look for monkeys and local fruit. Staying in a true Barbadian neighbourhood is a delight - the neighbours love a chat, and you can watch road tennis at the corner! There are two beaches in close walking distance - we recommend the one just south of St Peter’s Bay Resort, there’s a Beach Access sign right beside a small white bridge on the main road, follow the path and be amazed at the lovely bays with practically nobody else there! It’s also an easy walk in the other direction to Speightstown - don’t miss the delicious fish cutters at the Caboose! We stayed 12 days and can highly recommend staying at Pierre’s place!

Mike’s place is a perfect place to rest your head after a full day at the beach! Mike was a fantastic and responsive host. We were set to arrive on Christmas Day, when the grocery stores were going to be closed for the first two days of our visit, Mike was proactive and arranged for us to have some food and supplies to get the trip started with ease. The bungalow was perfect for the two of us! Clean, tidy and the bed was comfy. Can’t ask for much more!!! The backyard and pool is a garden oasis and the pups are the sweetest, they will certainly leave you be as well. All around a great stay and close enough to the fantastic Heywoods Beach and Hayman’s Market!

My mother and I enjoyed our stay at this place! The rooms were spacious with clean bathrooms and kitchen with every appliance. We loved the area where it’s located, it’s a lot of great restaurants in walking distance and is always right across from the beach and is in front of a bus stop for an option of transportation. We will definitely stay here again!

We loved this tastefully decorated and restful Villa and have already booked it for next year. Chanel and her team were so helpful, proactive and caring. She even came to our rescue when our flight was cancelled and we needed to extend the stay. Pool was lovely and quiet and the people we met around Schooner Bay were very friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

We loved this place! My wife and I stayed here for 10 days with her 87 year old father. We had two large air conditioned bedrooms and a large living room, dining room and kitchen with everything that you could ever need in it. It had a big private back patio off the kitchen with a bar & beer fridge, comfy chairs and patio table. Half of it was covered for much needed shade & rain protection at times when those 5-10 minute showers passed by. It had an outdoor shower that I used everyday after a leasurely 5 minute walk back from the beautiful Mullins beach! It had 2 beach chairs, a beach umbrella & a couple small coolers that we used everyday! We had some nice restaurants & bars within a 5-7 minute walk which we frequented regularly. We went to many beautiful restaurants on the water for dinner in Speighstown & Holetown. They were a 10 minute island bus ride for $2 us dollars or you could get a taxi ride for $15 us dollars. We will be back & highly recommend this slop to everyone!!!!

We had a fantastic time at Ashli’s apartment in Speightstown. The apartment exceeded expectations - it was beautifully designed, immaculately clean and had all the little finishing touches of a really premium stay. I was a little reticent booking purely because it was a new listing with only two reviews but I needn’t have worried - Ashli was a fantastic host with excellent communication and was clearly really invested in us having a brilliant stay. Would defo stay here again and we loved Speightstown.

The pictures of this condo do not do it justice! Claire's place is lovely, new, comfortable and luxurious. Both bathrooms are really nicely laid out and the beds are super comfortable with lovely soft sheets. The sofa is big and inviting so watching TV, when we did, was very cozy. Set in between Speightstown and Mullins, with good security, the condo is set in a great location and has a bus stop directly outside, with regular buses to take you to Bridgetown and other places in the south of the island. Claire is a good communicator and swiftly answered any queries we had. Although we had a major hiccup across a number of days, Claire kept in touch everyday and did her utmost to ensure the issue was resolved effeciently, and provided a small refund, as well as generously allowing us to check out later than planned. All ended well and my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed this pristine home away from home. Definitely recommend! Thank you.

Sarah's home is a GEM, simply beautiful, amazing, relaxing & superbly located in a private & peaceful area. It felt much bigger than the photos described, we felt very at home, lots of space/ bathrooms. Super comfy beds, linen & towels pristine & plentiful. The balcony was huge it has stunning views which were breathtaking, so relaxing. We were able to see the pool from our balcony which is handy to check-in on my youngest who couldn't get enough. The pool was spotless & cleaned regular. Gibbes beach was very close less than 10mins walk, Mullins extra 10min & lots of places to eat CCs etc. We visited Speightsown, Oistins, Bridgetown & Holetown mostly by bus, the yellow one. it was fab. Took the Blue bus to Bridgetown & has WiFi (blue bus is Government) have exact money drivers do not handle cash, fare is placed directly in pay box (no change given) Big supermarket in Holetown has everything. Loved loved this place It’s a gorgeous, spacious apartment with everything u need to relax and enjoy. The gardens and pool area are beautiful with plenty of sunloungers. Loved seeing the hummingbirds and monkeys in the garden. The ladies who clean are so sweet and friendly so is the gardener we loved chatting to them. Ian and Helen were amazing hosts so accommodating and helpful Defo recommend and hope to Return soon.

We enjoyed our family stay over the holidays. The local beach was the best on the island for snorkeling in my opinion. The location had everything we could ask for.

The Appartment is lovely and very comfortable with a large balcony. It is set in a quiet gated area just opposite Mullins beach. Rose who manages the property is charming and exceedingly helpful. We have now stayed there three times and are coming back next year! We would highly recommend it.

Mullins Beach House was a lovely accommodation. From the tasteful interiors to the exquisite pool and patio area it was comfortable and easily felt like home. Centrally located on the west coast it was easy to access many different beaches as well as Speightstown, Holetown and more. Kalista, the host, was helpful, accessible and kind. It was also very nice to meet Liese and Steve.
