  • The property was lovely, done to a high standard with lovely furniture and fittings. It was really clean and Nikki had left a little folder of useful info like local places to eat/visit and instructions on how to work things. Would highly recommend!

    Victoria2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Best stay ever! So clean and such a lovely rural retreat. Considering the price of the place it's a real shame you have to pay £20 a day for the hot tub. But apart from that we will definitely be returning!!

    Jesse2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved it! Definitely will book this place more often. Thank you 😊

    Roberta2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nikki’s place is wonderful. Immaculately clean, and very well presented. I would love to stay again. As a host Communication from Nikki was timely and pleasant and without delay. Some sweet personal touches included too, her attention to detail was brilliant! Amazing value! Thank you Nikki!

    Daniel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodation! Peaceful, cosy and spacious for the 2 of us. Nikki was great with communicating quickly and for answering questions. Would stay there again!

    Dan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing. Hot tub was perfect. Had everything you needed. Highly recommend

    Hannah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • 💕I had such a wonderful stay!! The Coach House is the place you didn't know you needed. Nikki is amazing with her communication and really went above and beyond for my stay. It is the best of both worlds, the character of the historical building it is, but with the modern finish to it. The new kitchen was lovely to use! Definitely book use of the hot tub, I practically lived in it when I wasn't out and about exploring, it was wonderful! Location is great, just a couple of doors down from a pub and not far from beautiful places to visit like Canterbury, Whitstable and Broadstairs as examples. I would most definitely stay here again!! 💕

  • Amazing stay in this wonderful place. Teresa full of useful information and very flexible to our needs. Stayed in touch to make sure we were okay over the weekend. Bed amazingly comfortably and what a view out over the sea. Would stay again!

    Ham2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House flat was a fantastic find! It was in a super location and was extremely homely and cosy. We sat on our last night on the bathtub sofa under a blanket looking out on a blanket of stars and the blinking red eyes of the faraway wind turbines. During the day, in the distance, we could also spy the WW2 Red Sands Towers - which I have wanted to see for years! Teresa was very helpful and responded quickly to questions. Having cooking basics in the flat when we arrived was a bonus.

    Tamzin2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful flat. The view is incredible. The bed is amazingly comfy and kitchen has everything you need. We stayed with our little boy and the Teresa kindly provided a highchair. He loved looking out at the ‘seashide’

    Kate2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely flat, stunning views and a stylish place. Waking up to windows looking out onto the ocean is a great way to start the day. Teresa was an excellent host, quick to reply to queries, offered nice recommendations and made the whole stay very seamless. Thanks!

    Roberto2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, superb views and close to local amenities. Just a short journey to nearby North Kent coast. Would highly recommend staying, Teresa was super helpful and made everything easy for us.

    Jamie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a wonderful stay. Gorgeous views both inside and out. Teresa was an amazing host who checked in regularly via text to make sure that everything was alright. Would recommend the Wallflower Cafe in Herne Bay!

    Rachel2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend in Herne Bay. Such a nice view out onto the water and so gorgeous to hear the waves on the shore all night

    Catherine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly lovely stay here. It is as gorgeous as the pictures show - perhaps even better in real life! To wake up to the views of the sea was a delight (which if you open the doors to the bedroom and jump back into bed, you can still see the sea!). Teresa was such an accommodating host: quick to respond; very friendly and caring throughout our stay; so informative - we enjoyed lovely walks, pub lunches and coffee stop-offs all based on Teresa’s thoughtful and detailed recommendations. Herne Bay was a lovely place to be for a few days - it has all that you need and was so close to Canterbury too. Highly recommended!

Self-contained annex with shower room and small kitchenette including fridge, hob and oven. The property is situated in our garden in the Kent village of Preston which is approx 10 miles from Canterbury. The space is open-plan with a double bed. A log burning stove has recently been installed. Please note that the property does not have wifi or a TV.
The village of Preston is located in the Kent countryside about 10 miles from the historic city of Canterbury with its world famous cathedral, universities and shops and restaurants. The Granary is a self-contained open plan living area with kitchen facilities and separate shower room. In addition to the main living areas on the ground floor, there are steps to a mezzanine balcony which can be used as a sleeping area for a third guest. Outside is a large decked area and guests have use of the garden. There is a double bed and an air bed can be provided to accommodate a third person.
The village of Preston is situated in a rural part of East Kent, within 10 miles of Canterbury. There is a small village store, pub, butcher, garden centre, park and church. The seaside towns of Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate are located about a 20 to 30 minute drive away, where you can find blue flag, sandy beaches, Turner contemporary art gallery and Dreamland amusement park. Also close by are the cinque port towns of Deal, Sandwich and Dover, where you can visit the White Cliffs and historic Dover Castle. Continental Europe is easily accessible either by car ferry from Dover or Eurostar from Ashford. For walkers, the area is well served by footpaths and many pleasant walks. The property is located on route 1 of the National cycle Network and cyclists can also enjoy the Viking coastal trail, accessed from Thanet.
  • Highly recommended staying in the warmer months, easy to get to, great location, beautiful views and very friendly hosts!

    Elena2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I expected. Nice and simple space. Perfect for a weekend getaway. I really liked the small touch of the fire that had been lit for our arrival, as it was a bitter cold evening.

    Christopher2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location and host in an ideal escape studio

    Guy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, peaceful sanctuary surrounded by endless natural beauty but also close enough to all of the best local attractions. Great stay, thank you Jennie and Family!

    Harry2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We are repeat visitors to the Granary. We have been spoilt to the extent that we can only say that Jennie's high standards always meet or go beyond our expectations. A lovely place for peace and undisturbed tranquillity. We stayed in December so dark very early on so if really really really pushed to find fault - it would be a suggestion rather than a criticism. Perhaps bring a torch/phone torch for the approach through the Garden. Other than that. Excellent as ever. Fully recommended and will be returning in 2020.

    Aaron2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. No central heating but the log burner is more than enough, and the hosts left us with firewood which was very kind. Nicely placed to go into Canterbury/Dover. Nice views as well. - would reccomend

    Alex2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place for a quick retreat

    Laura2019-12-18T00:00:00Z

Located in the conservation area of Herne Bay : ‘The Nook’, an original fisherman’s cottage dating from the late 1700s. It is a two minute walk to the seafront at the end of the street, and very close to many restaurants and cafes. The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard. Access is via the main house. There is a private patio with a bistro table and chairs. A breakfast welcome basket is supplied. A two friendly, well behaved dogs and a shy cat also live in the main house.
The Nook is charming and quirky, offering a mixture of romance, history and comfort. A lot of consideration and thought to guest's needs have gone into it. A complimentary bottle of wine is offered to guests staying more than one night.
The Nook is located in the conservation area of Herne Bay, a few hundred yards from the seafront. Lovely cliff-top walks to be had visiting Reculver Towers. There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs within walking distance, there is a list of ones I recommend in the cottage. Easy access to Whitstable, Canterbury and Margate by public transport or driving. Beautiful sunsets!
  • A perfect night away in an adorable, tiny fisherman's cottage. Eve is a warm, thoughtful and welcoming host. We had a lovely overnight stay, a great walk from Herne Bay to Whitstable. Excellent lunch at Four Fathoms and for supper we ate at possibly the best Neapolitan restaurant I've been to in years. Then a walk back along the seafront and a very comfortable bed.

    Maggie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time here - so very cosy and atmospheric. Fantastic hospitality from Eve, who gave lots of helpful local suggestions and tips. Sparkling clean, and lovely welcome breakfast pack. We hope to be back soon!

    Miranda2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook is a wonderful little bolt hole in a picturesque seaside town. Including everything you might need such as a basic kitchen, patio space and shower etc. Eve even included such thoughtful touches such as a bottle of wine and breakfast goods which made the trip that much sweeter. Thank you Eve and Moon, would recommend to a friend!!

    Christy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a short weekend away and to get away from the city for a bit. Whistable is a short drive away and Canterbury is also close. Nice pub just around the corner too.

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just home from a couple of days break staying in the quaint fisherman's cottage. Cosy little cottage with thoughful touches like breakfast basket, maps, guides and toiletries. Nice homely touches. Great advice on local pubs places to eat, visit and local walks. Slept so well feel rested, great little break. Alex & Pierre

    Alex2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook is cosy and warm, a perfect place to curl up on the sofa and read a book! My boyfriend and I stayed on NYE and on Eve’s recommendation went to Casa Mia for a wonderful meal. Everything is in walking distance and easy to find! Perfect for what we needed, and the cosiest night sleep I’ve had in a long time! We hope to come back one day!

    Lara2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook was perfect! A renovated 1750s Fisherman’s cottage in the middle of Herne Bay. Eve is the perfect host and made us very welcome. We plan on staying there again when we’re in that part of the world.

    Danny2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • "The Nook" was a perfect place for a weekend getaway. It was such a lovely little cottage atmosphere with beautiful and thoughtful touches by Eve. It was a very cozy and homey space with the fireplace. It was close to so many nice pubs and of course the seaside. Eve was a wonderful host and left nice breakfast foods as well as a bottle of wine. We will absolutely be coming back! Especially to see her two beautiful doggies.

  • Great host, lovely home.

    Kai2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The room has coffee and tea making facilities . Also has it’s own shower which is why I originally chose this location. Was very close to local town which had costa and Sainsbury’s etc. Also close to Minnie bay beach about 5 minute drive 10 minute walk ,which we spent some time at and I’m sure it would be even nicer during the summer time . I went there for an event at quex Park which is also very local . Saw Gareth and his family a couple of times very friendly and helpful.

A beautifully 400 year old grade II* listed building full of history - Winston Churchill once stayed here! Set in the Kent countryside there are stunning walks and cycle rides. The local village (Minster) hosts a number of great pubs, restaurants, tea room and mainline train station. We are surrounded by lovely coastline too and for golfing enthusiast we are just 16mins drive from the hosts of the 2020 Open in Sandwich. A warm welcome awaits guests.
Our home is old and full of character, this includes some uneven walls and floors. The ceiling height is good throughout but some of the doorways are low so you may need to duck to do through them.
  • Linda’s place is close to the main routes. It’s in a good location. The room and bathroom was clean and the place is quiet. Thank you

Sleeps 4 comfortably, travel cot available on request. Bus stops outside, railway station just a 20 minute walk, 7 minute walk to the beach, Tesco at the bottom of the road. Ideally placed in a quiet residential area, with a bus stop right outside. A 7 minute walk to the beach and Tesco at the bottom of the road Please note there is a shower at the apartment but it can be a bit tricky to set, so I am saying it has a bath not a shower. Feel free to use it but remember when you leave feedback it is not included in the price of the booking.

  • We stayed at Hillrise and the location was really easy to find. The parking was a breeze with the sign on the fence. The location to places for a quick snack and dinner was ideal with the sea being less then a 5mibute walk. All the amenities were covered and we had a very relaxing time.

This secluded private space at the end of our garden, is a stone's throw away from the sea and is a perfect get away with a private entrance . However please note that although there is a w/c there is NO shower or bath yet! With so many coastal walks and cycles close by you'll never get bored of exploring. Margate with its retro, vibrant art scene, boasts the Turner Contemporary and Dreamland is 3 miles away. Broadstairs and Canterbury are also very accessible. Pls read other notes.
Small, cosy. Garden retreat within a stone's throw of the sea. Many coastal cycles and walks close by. A retro/art scene at both Margate and Deal. Historical Broadstairs and amazing oysters at Whitstable, all extremely accessible. Train stain 10 mins walk and Birchington itself boosts blue flag, sandy beaches and many fantastic restaurants from Lebanese to traditional pub.
The beautiful coastline is truly breathtaking and the sunsets were the inspiration for many of Turner's work. If you are looking for a quiet country walk, long scenic cycle, swim in the sea, Michelin star restaurants, artistic community, then the Isle of Thanet is the place for you.

  • Sarah and Gee were great hosts. Communication was really quick and informative. Also they were really flexible with checking-in and out. The log cabin was even cuter in real life. It has enough heater to have a great cozy and warm night there. Access to the little house was easy.

A delightful self contained rural holiday chalet situated in the 3.5 acre grounds of our smallholding. We are in a small rural hamlet surrounded by orchards and footpaths with a village pub 4 doors away. Close to sandy beaches at Minnis Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate's Royal Harbour. Whitstable and the city of Canterbury are close by. We are also only 30 minutes to the eurotunnel and dover port if you fancy a day trip to france. Sandwich Bay and St Georges golf course are a short drive.
The chalet is newly refurbished. It has an open plan lounge, kitchen, diner, shower room, a bedroom with a kingsize bed and walk in wardrobe with plenty of space, a second bedroom with 2 single beds which can be zipped together to make a kingsize bed if requested in advance. Outside there is a covered veranda with chairs to enjoy the evening sun. A picnic bench is outside and parking for 2 cars.
The local pub is 4 doors away which serves food 7 days a week. There are also many good restaurants in nearby villages. There is a butchers and village store in Preston 2 miles away. There are bigger shops nearby in Birchington and Minster or supermarkets at Westwood Cross. The river Stour is a short walk and other good walks through the local orchards are popular.

  • Lovely cosey but spacious area, lovely little touches which makes it feel homely and welcome. Stayed during storm Dennis and was pre warned about power cuts, however we was luck enough to have power throughout the stay. Phone signal was temperamental but WiFi was fairly good. Lovely little hidden gem.

    Herne Bay, England, United Kingdom

Beltinge is a friendly suburb of Herne Bay, situated on the Reculver Cliffs within easy distance of Whitstable, Margate & Canterbury by bus, car or bike. Period house, lovely garden, parking, large kitchen, all recently refurbished to a high standard. Nearby pubs, shops, takeaways and beautiful walks mean you have everything on your doorstep if you're feeling less adventurous.
The Old Coach House has been sensitively and painstakingly renovated throughout. Beautiful fireplaces to cosy up in front of, a large kitchen with range cooker to impress on and garden furniture to relax on while you enjoy being outside in the garden.
The village we live in has literally everything you could need within a very easy walking distance. From fresh fish & chips to Chinese takeaway, to a local hairdresser or postoffice, Beltinge has it all. A scenic coastal walk will get you into Herne Bay town itself which is a very independent high street with much to offer. Check out the vintage tea rooms for a 1940s style take on a coffee shop. There is also 'Edwards of Herne Bay' which hosts a weekly auction of all things weird and wonderful. If you miss that, many hours can be spent in the high street emporium. The pedestrian friendly Mortimer Street has a weekly market, along with Canterbury and Whitstable so if shopping is your thing, you should find adequate opportunities here! The village itself is packed with history - you'll pass Dollies' corner on the way in which is a charming traditionally thatched cottage, so named because its owner, Dolly, opened doors during WWII to offer troops stationed nearby tea and refreshments. Check out the name of the bus stop opposite! In terms of very local entertainment, it is worth looking at the information board outside the Village Hall as it regularly hosts classes or groups, sales and events which you may be interested in. It also has the benefit of being only a minute's walk from the house! Herne Bay itself is also historically interesting - technically a 'new' town (despite the beautiful Victorian architecture to be found everywhere) as there was nothing here until 1830. In 1836 the clock tower along Herne Bay front was finished, which makes it the oldest free standing clock tower in the world. Despite the relative newness of Herne Bay town, the history of Beltinge goes back much further. It was the area where the germanic 'Belti' tribe settled as it provided for all their needs - examples of flint arrowheads and tools can be seen in Herne Bay museum and there is evidence of iron smelting in this area from the iron age. In WWII Barnes-Wallace's "bouncing bomb" was tested on the sea front in front of Herne Bay - it is worth a visit to the museum by Reculver for a fascinating exhibition on this. The nearby Bishopstone Glen is one of the best places in this area to search for fossils.

  • Barbara and Chris are exceptional hosts and most charming! It was a delight to have a two night stay with them in their very clean and stylish home. Both Barbara and Chris made us feel extremely welcome, it was like we had known them for years. Breakfast was freshly cooked for us each morning, which kick started our day. Lots to do in the local area and especially pleasing was a five minute walk to the First ever invented UK Micro Pub aptly named ‘ The Butchers Arms’ after having once been a butchers.. We highly recommend a stay with Barbara and Chris and also a visit to The Butchers Arms, where you will receive a very warm welcome in a very small pub.... A bus route is just outside, which takes you to Herne Bay, Canterbury and Whitstable, Wildwood is also very close... Perfect location and perfect hosts!

  • Sharon was ana amazing host and thought of everything! She had loads of info for us about the local area and made sure we felt welcome The hot tub was absolutely amazing and the beach literally was a stones throw away Highly recommend this! A really comfortable and lovely place to stay

    Hermione2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Chris and Sharon's place. They have a beautiful home, in a private street, close the beach, and of course there is the jacuzzi! Chris was very welcoming when we arrived, and we felt at ease. There is a way to get to the unit without going through their home, which others might prefer, but they kindly opened up the front door and we walked through their house to get to the extension, which is where the airbnb unit is. They had nice touches like small bottles of wine and cereals, a kettle for tea or coffee, two towels each (one for the jacuzzi maybe and one for when you take a shower). The unit itself is spacious, though the bedroom is compact. Great value for money. We will be back!

Violet Corner is one of three newly constructed holiday cottages. This is our cosiest cottage a single story one bedroom that is perfect for two. It may be smaller but it is as tasteful and luxurious as its other two neighbours.
Violet Corner has a fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The laundry room located at the end of the three cottages is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities which is available for our guests to use at no extra charge.
There are several coarse fisheries nearby, with Marshside Fisheries being les than 10 minutes away. The seaside town of Herne Bay is 4.5 miles away and just two miles west of that is Whitstable - famous for it's oysters. Reculver Towers and Roman Fort are located 1.9 miles from the cottage. There are many of footpaths and bridleways locally. The City of Canterbury is a twenty minute drive and is home to a cathedral, a castle, the Marlowe theatre and shopping
  • Great accommodation with lovely unspoilt views of the Kent countryside. We stayed at Violet Corner for a a flying weekend visit and found the accommodation and location perfect for a couple with a dog. The property was very warm, modern and contained everything we needed.

A pretty, light and airy twin room at the front of our home with views on to the street and the old school house opposite. Close to the historic Cathederal city of Canterbury and the popular seaside town of Whitstable on the north Kent coast. Near to the ancient Cinque Port of Sandwich and the golf courses of Royal St Georges, Cinque Ports, Princes and North Foreland. London only 60 mins away in the car. Dover Port and access to the rest of Europe 30 minutes away. Excellent local birding sites.
Monkton Street is a family home in a quiet Kent village.
Monkton is a quiet village with easy access to the local countryside. We love living here as we can easily access all the nearby towns and villages when we need to but enjoy returning to the peace and quiet of home.
  • Amanda and David were friendly, accommodating hosts who made our stay relaxing and welcoming. They have a wonderful home in a great central location to the many seaside towns of Broadstairs, Margate, Ramsgate, Sandwich and Herne Bay. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet with a large private bathroom, spot on. They laid on a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice and were very knowledgable of the local area giving ready advice of where to eat and visit. My son and I will miss their two gorgeous friendly French bulldogs too! It was a real pleasure to stay here, thank you, would highly recommend!

    Matthew2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very kind host, prompt response to our messages prior to arrival. Recommended eateries and places to visit in the area. The house in a sweet little village with beautiful garden at the back, we really enjoyed listening the little waterfall. The bedroom was nicely decorated, the two big single bed was slightly too soft for our liking, we like firm beds...but everyone has different preferences. Still we had good nights sleeps. We animal lovers, so it was nice to meet the two gorgeous french bulldogs and a cat. The breakfast was outstanding!!! Super host!!! We have had a lovely weekend staying in Kent.....thank you!

  • You couldn't find more welcoming hosts. The room is comfy with lovely seaside paintings. There is a freeview telly in just the right place on the wall so you can both see it. The bathroom is massive and has a really good shower. Breakfast was lovely - a choice of cereals, posh orange juice, proper peanut butter, a wide variety of jam, honey and marmalade as well as fresh fruit. Would recommend highly.

St Minver Cottage is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, so no through traffic with ample free parking. It is a comfortable traditional furnished cottage style home just a few minutes walk from the beach with sea views of Hampton Bay overlooking the Thames estuary across to the Essex coast, and boasting the most beautiful sunsets. The room has direct access to the rear cottage garden and patio. I was born here and have a wide knowledge of the area and all the attractions and facilities
Located in the quieter Hampton area of Herne Bay we are only 10 minutes walk along the promenade to the town centre and well served by local buses making it easy to travel to the Cathedral City of Canterbury and the harbour fishing town of Whitstable, both of which 10-15 minutes drive by car.
Located in the quieter Hampton end of Herne Bay, the property is only a few minutes walk from the beach and Hampton Pier which is popular fishing spot and with stunning views across the Thames estuary towards the Essex coast and Isle of Sheppey. Local amenities include the popular Hampton Inn Pub, Herne Bay Rowing Club and Hampton Pier Sailing Club.
  • Clive responded quickly to my queries. He made me feel welcome. The room was warm, clean and comfortable, opening onto a garden, with sea views. There was a good choice for the continental breakfast. Easy parking in a quiet cul-de-sac. A local pub was very close, serving good food. It was about 10 minutes drive to the main shops. A nice walk along the sea front, past about 200 beach huts to the pier. Local information about the town and Amy Johnson. I enjoyed my stay.

    Camilla2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend staying here without any hesitation what so ever. Amazing value, lovely room, very friendly host. Made to feel very well. The continental breakfast looked fab but we left early which wasn't a problem for our host. He was up and made us a drink before be left. We will stay here again when we visit next time.

  • Highly recommend Clive's airbnb - exceptionally clean and a very kind, attentive, helpful host. Good sized room with sea views. Lovely breakfast. Very quiet so a great 2 nights sleep. Would book again which I have already done so.

  • Ideal for my stay in Herne Bay. The apartment is truly self contained with everything you could wish for. Modern, roomy and extremely clean on a quiet street a short distance from the town centre which was perfect for access to my family and the morning run along the seafront. The facilities are excellent and the host left beer, water, milk and cookies as a welcome. Communication with Helen the host has been friendly, instructive and timely, and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here. It will certainly be on my return list when I visit the area again. Thank you Helen.

  • A beautifully located immaculately presented flat on the sea front. Julia and Carrie made sure there was a parking space reserved right out the front for when we arrived, a lovely touch after a long drive. The flat was clean, tidy and had a well stocked welcome basket with local produce and snacks. Both checking in and out was super easy and Julia and Carrie were very attentive/reactive to any queries. Would definitely stay again!

    Kat2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and Carrie were fantastic hosts. They picked us up from the train station and made us feel so welcome. The apartment is wonderful, and has everything you could ever need. The view from the balcony is beautiful! We had a wonderful time, thank you for helping with the surprise! We cannot wait to come back again soon.

    Charlotte2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and Carrie are the perfect double act to welcome you to the perfect bolthole to spend a weekend away. The weather was grotty, but the welcome was warm and we couldn't have faulted anything in the apartment. It's an Airbnb Plus for a reason. Herne Bay is a great little seaside town that's clearly on the up. So easy to get to from London too. Make an effort to grab a weekend here.

    Charlie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! I’m only regretting we were staying for so short! The views are stunning and the place is even more cost than on the photos. The hosts were so thoughtful and easy to reach out to. Can’t wait to come back!

    Monika2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time here, and it was just as lovely as the first time! Such a beautiful flat right by the sea with great views. So relaxing, with everything you need, and near to walks, shops and restaurants. Love this place!!

    Diana2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best ‘meet and greets’ that we have ever received. Apartment was exactly like the photographs with many little extras (soaps, lotions, shampoo, wine, water, bread and milk), helping to make the stay just what we needed. Extremely comfortable place in a fantastic location. Fantastic to wake up and hear the waves - with the option to walk for miles in both directions to lovely little villages. We had a sumptuous breakfast in Whitstable- which was well worth (and worthy of) the walk.

    Jane2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had three nights at Julia’s property and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I took the train from London and the property is a walkable distance from the station, or a quick bus trip. The place is spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated. It’s also incredibly well-equipped; every practical thing you could need (full kitchen, washing machine, picnic basket, rain jackets, beach towels... the lid is endless!) But the place in no way felt cluttered. The luxury toiletries were a really nice touch as well. Julia was very responsive to any query, bot before and during my stay. The property is also on the absolute seafront, so the balcony has an uninterrupted view of the ocean. It’s also easy walking distance to cafes, supermarkets, etc. The bed was very comfortable, and the place felt really cozy even in the middle of winter. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I couldn’t recommend this place any more highly.

The Loft has a light, modern ambience with characterful original detailing. The overwhelming feeling is of space and light but the slanted ceilings and the various alcoves give it a cozy, homely feel. It is at the top of a Victorian town house (hence the 3 flights of stairs) overlooking Herne Bay pier and prom.
Lighting is energy saving smart Philips Hue bulbs with wall switches in each room. There are also 3 Apple HomePods and an Apple TV in the Loft so come and enjoy Siri!
Herne Bay is famous for it's Turneresque sunsets and has many historic intrigues. The pier, the first ever freestanding clock tower, its connections to the 2nd World War through Barnes Wallace and Amy Johnson, King's Hall and the bandstand to name but a few. Kent pub of the year, The Four Fathoms, is just up the road and there are many fantastic cafes around... we'd start with the Green Door Deli!
  • We had such a great stay at the Loft. The apartment was amazing and the views breathtaking. We hope we can get back for another stay soon.

    Colin2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great weekend at The Loft. It’s a large apartment filled with light and gorgeous views over the sea and town. The flat is really well equipped, it had everything we needed. The kitchen is really well stocked - just the right amount of condiments etc, milk in the fridge, nespresso machine, loads of crockery, oranges for juicing. The flat is gadget central and very Apple-friendly with chargers everywhere, Homepods (so we could Airplay the radio from the Sounds app), fast WiFi, Apple TV, Hue lighting etc., but all of it is incredibly easy to operate and made the stay more comfortable. The bed is really comfortable, lovely duvet and pillows. Simon was an excellent host, he very kindly collected me from the station and showed me around the flat and explained everything I needed to know. He and his family have provided some excellent travel guides and we went to lots of their recommendations.... Hampton Inn for sunset, Sunset Fish Bar, Four Fathoms for a nightcap (it’s so close!), 42 Mortimer St for excellent coffee, A Casa Mia for delicious pizza, Makcaris for the best ice cream, Diving Bell for a slightly surreal but very fun live band, Toast for a great hangover cure breakfast! We walked from the flat to Whitstable - an easy walk along the sea wall - and had oysters at The Lobster Shack, tea & cake at Tea & Times and sunset pint at The Old Neptune. Each outing made all the better for returning home to the warmth of the loft & it’s comforts. Thanks again for a great stay, we hope to return!

  • Super responsive and available host. The apartment was perfectly clean with a nice welcome gift to discover. The facilities are perfectly suited to a family with young children. The bedding was very comfortable. The location by the sea provides access to very pleasant walks.

A real taste of traditional England heritage. Beautiful spacious one bed apartment with private kitchenette, and bathroom. In the heart of the town, it is located opposite a plaza with swimming pool, cinema and gym, and nearby lots of local shops green grocers etc. Just a two minute walk down the road leads you to the beach and sea front parade.
This apartment is within a grand victorian building, with original features and high ceilings: ornate cornicing; skirting boards and; ceiling roses. Grand 8 arm chandeliers illuminate the rooms and a large Carrara marble fireplace dominates the focus of the lounge area. The large bay windows make the space feel bright and airy and offer sea glimpses. As standard the apartment is ready for two people, but a "put-you-up" single bed can be supplied for a third person for an additional £15 per night.
Fantastic central location in Herne Bay, opposite plaza with swimming pool, gym and cinema. A 1 minute walk down the road takes you to the sea front and the restaurants that are nearby.
  • If you want a lovely seaside stay this is the place! Its central so you don't have to walk far to get anywhere and we could see the sea from the front room! There's some really good pubs nearby (one even won "pub of the year" and has FAN-TAS-TIC food!) and a cinema just across the road. The rooms were nicely made up and had lots of light so we felt at home instantly. The landlord was attentive and looked after our needs without getting in the way (a lovely chap!). Would go back again in an instant.
