Trails for hiking and exploring waterfalls are in abundance. **Please note: once you reserve with us, please read the driving directions carefully. Please read the written driving directions as the visual landmarks we provide are very helpful. Our driveway is preceded by an uphill, gravel/dirt road (about 1/4 mile in length) that may be a bit bumpy. We have had guests drive here in vehicles from Smart cars to tricked out SUV's with no issues. Always feel free to message us with questions. Got pets? Let us know. We have free range chickens so please keep dogs leashed by the house. We have miles of trails so there are plenty of places to take your four-legged friends for a walk without leashes. Private but not isolated.
  • This is a lovely place on a wooded lot with acreage for privacy. Accommodations were spotless and comfy. Lisa is wonderful and check-in was seamless!

    Candace2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great hostess, and the cabin exactly as advertised- a beautiful abode tucked away in a beautiful location. I was hoping for a quiet retreat, and couldn't have been happier with how accommodating Lisa was to make it feel like we had the place to ourselves. Highly recommended.

    Travis2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and family were great and the place was as advertised - even a bit nicer than we expected and super clean. It was paradise for our two dogs to be able to explore the property and adjacent trails and hangout with Phoebe - Lisa's dog. Highly recommend - we will be back.

    Jacob2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the property! It's absolutely beautiful and the view is great too! You can't see the mountain from the property but the view is green and the property is relaxing. You can hear the river flowing through the sliding glass door. Perfect place for a quick getaway!

    Kaycie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and I went down and stayed at Lisa's place last weekend. It was a wonderful cabin on the property with a great view in the morning. She told us she is getting the hot water heater replaced in the cabin, but she had a private bathroom and shower for us to use with very hot water. Everything was very clean and it was the perfect base camp running a 50k race! Thanks Lisa for your hospitality! We loved out stay and would highly recommend.

    Katie and Steve2014-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's cabin is a fabulous little piece of heaven. I would not hesitate a second staying there again when in the area.

    Ted2014-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin! Lisa has really found a way to maximize a small space. We loved that coffee was available in the morning, and everything we needed was right where it "belonged". There was even a flashlight if we needed to go outside, or back to the car for any reason at night. Once we checked in it felt like we were all alone, and the proximity to the main house wasn't even remotely noticeable. I wish we could have been there longer than just a quick overnight. The driveway up is a dirt road with some pretty solid potholes, we had no issues in our small SUV, but it would definitely be tough in a smaller coupe or sedan.

    Amy2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was set on a hillside overlooking some beautiful greenery and just a walk away from the river. As we arrived Lisa was there to greet us and show us around a bit. The cabin was clean and very relaxing. We were provided with delicious coffee/tea and some snacks as well. We traveled to this area in pursuit of waterfalls and relaxation so Lisa provided us with a book on different hikes to find them. We spoke with her husband briefly who was equally friendly. Very accommodating and I would love to visit this little getaway again!

We offer a charming and functional space, right in downtown Hood River that fits 1-2 adults comfortably. Set under the trees, this little cottage is both cozy and modern. It has a full, private bath en suite and a queen-sized bed. Please note: this is smoke-free property (tobacco or marijuana). *We are registered with the City of Hood River (license #592).*
The guesthouse is well-appointed with high-quality bedding and towels, and all furniture is in excellent shape. It is a relatively small space but very comfortable and clean. It is set behind the main house so it is quiet and private. Guests may come and go as they please. A few notes: We do not offer storage for gear or access to laundry. There is no TV in the guesthouse, however, there is excellent wifi so streaming movies and shows is an alternative. We look forward to meeting you and getting you settled, but are happy to give you your privacy. We have lived in Hood River for many years and can guide guests to outdoor activities and great local businesses. We have a list of recommended restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries in the cottage. Our neighborhood is off the beaten path so it's nice and quiet but is in Hood River proper. We can see the river from the property so it's great to get a sense of what's going on down at the riverfront. And, we are steps away from the Indian Creek Trail--a nice beginning or end to the day. It's just a quick walk to the main shopping street (Oak), either via the street or the stairs. Parking is easy on the street and guests will have a dedicated, off-street space. One more note: we live on a fairly steep hill and the path to the house from the street is steps and a gravel path--it's not for those who may be unsteady on their feet. Smoking or vaping of any substance in the guesthouse or on the property is prohibited.
We live in a neighborhood that is off the beaten path but in Hood River proper so it's the best of both worlds. The Indian Creek Trail is steps away and the Hood River stairs are less than 1/4 mile.
  • Lindsay and Sean were great hosts. Sean met us and all the things we needed were here. The cabin is lovely and easy to reach. If you're in for a place to crash and don't need a full house this is great.

    Phil2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • In one word perfect. The guest house was exactly what my wife and I needed. Taking some time to unplug from the world with no tv and just relax with a book and each other. Lindsay provided coffee which was delightful and a small fridge that was great for some leftovers from some of the great restraurant in hoodriver. This very private getaway was better than expected and I'm sure we will try to do it again in the future.

    Kevin & Katelynn2014-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate, and we really enjoyed our stay! Parking is a little tight but we had a space right near the path to the guesthouse. Lindsay and Sean were both very nice and helpful in recommending good spots to eat and things to see.

    Lindsay2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay and her husband, Sean, were wonderful hosts. They both met my husband and me to make sure we settled in. They were warm, friendly, and helpful. The guesthouse exceeded our expectations. It is beautiful and comfortable, including the king size bed. It is perfect for a single person or couple. The path from the street to the guesthouse is very steep. I recommend wearing a good pair of tennis shoes to minimize the chance of slipping. Lindsay and Sean's guesthouse is in their gorgeous yard. It is so peaceful! I cannot wait to visit Hood River again and stay at their guesthouse. One of the the best places I've ever stayed at on Airbnb.

    Derrick & Tiffany2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay's cabin is absolutely amazing, and she's a great host! We wish we could stay longer. Despite of them being crossed out from the list of amenities, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, as well as hangers were available.

    Vesna2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and charming space! Lindsay and her husband were very friendly and inviting and provided great ideas for places to explore in Hood River!

    Allison2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay's guesthouse is an adorable tiny house in a quiet neighborhood. Lindsay and family were generous hosts and made me feel very much at home. The trail near their house is great for walking/running and location is convenient to town. Excellent experience, I would recommend it and hope to return myself.

    Karen2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse was a fantastic cozy gem of a place to stay for our short sojourn in Hood River. Everything was very clean and comfortable, with the feel of your own little cabin in the woods. Also incredibly convenient for a walk into town or down to the riverfront. Although we did not get to meet Lindsay in person, Sean was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. We will definitely stay here again if we can.

  • Great cozy spot to stay in Hood River!

    Noah2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laury's place was a nice, quiet studio apartment located within walking distance of really anything in or near downtown Hood River. We had a wonderful time checking out local restaurants and breweries - and also drove a short way away to nice hiking trails and beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our weekend stay. Although we did not meet Laury in person, we found her pleasant and easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend Laury's place to anyone interested in exploring Hood River!

    Caitlyn2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay, directly in the heart of downtown Hood River. Well worth the extremely affordable price. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

    Christopher2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location! We walked everywhere. Simple and sparce accommodation. Full kitchen. Parking was easy; the driveway is shared with the downstairs unit and fits two cars snugly. Bed is the fouton; it's OK but not great. We put the mattress on the floor our second night. Laury was easy to interact with. We did not meet face-to-face.

    Greg2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host, great place. Terrific location.

    Claire2016-06-23T00:00:00Z

It's right in the heart of downtown Hood River so you can walk just about anywhere you need and the space is great -- including a full kitchen and air conditioning. Will definitely consider staying here again the next time I head to Hood River!

This cozy one bedroom home is perfect for a couple looking to get away, or a gorge shredder looking for an extended stay. Industrial and minimalist this non traditional remodel is just plain cool. Reclaimed materials were used throughout. Douglas Fir countertops were salvaged from a house fire, and the walls in the bathroom are repurposed orchard pallets. Please note, while the interior is complete, the exterior is still a work in progress.
  • We loved our stay at this cute little private house on a large snowy lot. It was sparkling clean, beautifully decorated and designed, and we were provided with coffee, scones, popcorn, and everything we needed to cook dinner. Although it’s very close to shops and restaurants it was quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay again on my next trip to White Salmon!

    Christa2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at White Salmon! We were celebrating our one year anniversary and we wanted to travel somewhere with a lot of hikes, fun eats, and privacy and we felt that this place was awesome! we spent some of our days hiking and then enjoyed walking around window shopping and eating good food! All the locals were so friendly and we absolutely loved the house! The house was warm and cozy and supplied with all that we needed! Mike was an awesome host and checked in to make sure we were all good! We definitely recommend this home and we are for sure coming back!

  • We LOVED staying at the cottage. Thomas and Amanda were incredibly responsive and helpful for fun things to do in the area. The house is the perfect size for two, and so cute and cozy, and fun to wake up to the Turkeys! It was hard to leave on Sunday, and we were pleasantly surprised to have Thomas give us a late check out Sunday morning. The heated tile floors in the bathroom were an awesome touch as well!

  • Beautiful place at a perfect location! Communication was prompt and check in/out was so easy. Right in the middle of downtown lovely home. Mary was so responsive! We had a glitch with the washer (no doubt user error) and she was right over to fix it for us and was so gracious. I hesitate to truly write how great this home is for fear it won't be available in the future!

  • Perfect location for being able to walk around Hood River and exploring all the breweries.

  • Laury was very responsive and accommodating. This place is all about location - You can't get much better than this. The house was tidy and clean. We enjoyed spending time on the big front porch. It fit 6 of us comfortably.

    Danielle2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This downtown Hood River home has an excellent location with shops and restaurants only a few blocks away. It is simple in decoration, a house plant here and there, leaving the house feeling spacious and clean. The yard is stunning (during our visit in July) with dozens of flowers in bloom. There is a separate rental unit located above this unit. We chatted with a very nice couple who were staying in that rental. We enjoyed Hood River and our lovely stay in this humble abode!!

    Kelsey2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Laury was a great host! The location of her home is in the absolute perfect location in downtown Hood River. We were able to park on the property (streets are metered) and walk to just about everything. The home was comfortable for 5 guests.

    Antonea2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Laury's place was simple, adequate for what we needed (warm, dry and short notice! It is in a great location - close to the town and easy access to the roads to take us where we wanted to bike ride The back deck was a sweet place - well protected on a windy chilly day. Laury met us at the house, was very welcoming. The garage to store our bikes was a plus.

    Regina2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location, great size for 6 people, not very aesthetically pleasing. Looks don't bother me but my guests kept joking that this looks like a "crack house" cause it's so sparse. Laury was responsive and fairly easy to work with though!

Cute loft in walking distance to downtown Hood River. Sleeps 2 on queen size loft bed, kitchenette with microwave, coffeemaker. toaster, blender and more essentials, bathroom with tub, WIFI, TV, radio, window AC unit. We just got a new leather sofa, which turns into a full size sleeper for those who prefer not to use the high loft bed which is accessible by a steep ladder and close to ceiling. Close to downtown, the Gorge, windsurfing, kiting, hiking, kayaking, biking and so much more.... We are pet-friendly, but require an additional $20 pet fee, payable at check-in. We provide lots of outdoor magazines, maps and reading material about Hood River and the Gorge for your convenience. The City of Hood River has a population 7,320 as of July 1, 2011, and is located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area between Mt. Hood and the Columbia River, approximately 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon. The Hood River toll bridge spans the Columbia River and connects the city with the communities of White Salmon and Bingen located in the state of Washington. Major local industries include orchards and fruit packing, healthcare, timber, software engineering and technology, tourism and recreation (particularly windsurfing, kiteboarding, cycling and mountain biking, hiking and skiing). Hood River is home to four breweries, a growing wine industry and a thriving food scene.
the view is awesome, and the street is very quite with great access to downtown walking distance. Warning: we are on top of the hill from downtown. Walk down steps is easy, walk back is not so easy but a great way to work off that dinner or lunch or beer/wine :)
  • Didn't actually meet Whit. Place was great, easy walk to town, great view from the back yard.

    Erik2014-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was exactly as advertised. No surprises. It was clean, cozy and a great location. Easy walk to town if you don't mind stairs. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. Getting in was easy and Casey was very helpful with our leaving. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

  • Whit is a very friendly and open-minded person. The loft was in great conditions and very comfortable. Everything was perfect :). Thanks a lot to you, Whit.

    Sarah2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Whit's house for a wedding and adventurous weekend up in Hood River. The space is very close and walkable to downtown and the river. The room is small, but has all you need and is very clean and cozy. We opted sleep on the fold down sofa and slept close, but just fine. It's a gorgeous town and Whit's place was a perfect fit! He has a garage had we brought out bikes. I highly recommend and Whit is a super nice guy!

    Tessa2013-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in this cozy quiet neighborhood that was still close to the main area of town. Very a cute well organized space that was very clean, accommodating and had a great hot shower after a long day on the slopes!

  • Cozy and convenient space close to town.

  • Staying at Whit's was super easy and convenient! Clean, cozy space. Loved being able to walk into town, sleep in a quiet space, and wake up to a beautiful view in the backyard. Highly recommended!

    Jonny 2014-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was very nice once we found it. We didn't have reception on our phones so no GPS and I didn't have the exact address. We stopped at a house and it happened to be Whit's friendly neighbors. The accomodations were exactly as the description said. It was very clean and the loft was a bit tricky to climb but I handled it fine.

  • We loved our stay at the condo in Hood River. It was convenient to the downtown area and the River. We had a chance to do some hiking and site seeing. We drove to Mount Hood and it was an incredibly scenic drive. We also had the opportunity to visit several of the beautiful water falls. These activities were easily accessible within a one hour drive. The condo was beautifully decorated, cozy and had a warm atmosphere. We loved it. It provided all the comforts of home and more.

    Tanya2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was wonderful! Clean, cozy, comfortable, such a sweet little spot for my girlfriends and I to hang out for the weekend. We will definitely keep this spot in mind for future trips to Hood River.

Very nice bathroom with vanity top made of glass beads. Cute kitchen and living room area. About 20 minute downhill walk into town or 5 minute drive away. A few cool spots within walking distance. • Melissa reassured us during the "shopping for an Airbb" process that the Loft was going to be comfortable for my 6'5+ husband. Further, she contacted us the morning of our arrival to make certain we had clear directions and got us the key code right on time. She even checked in a few times to confirm that we had everything we needed and included her feedback about restaurants and such in the area. The Loft was Lovely! Airy and beautifully furnished--all the little details nicely covered. Fabulously, it was out of the chaos of downtown, but only a 5 min drive to everywhere we wanted to go. Strongly recommended!

    Paula2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Simply put this was the PERFECT getaway. Adorable, amazing well stocked loft just outside the main drag of Hood River. Private, clean, cozy and homey all wrapped in one. Melissa is a wonderful host and had everything from a hairdryer to extra blankets to coffee creamer in the fridge! Will absolutely be back!

My place is close to family-friendly activities, great views, kayaking, fishing, rafting, hiking. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, XC skiing near by and families (with kids). PLEASE BE ADVISED: if you can't arrive by 4:00pm during winter months, do NOT book. Daylight check in required! Our yurt is still a work in progress. Winter does not allow shower or running water. Peace and quiet awaits!
We are tucked in the woods, only 12 miles from Hood River. You will be surrounded by wildlife as well as domesticated animals. Our yurt offers you a Glamping (glamorous camping) experience. We hope you will find just what you need to be comfortable. Winter months do not allow shower or water amenities. February- October, bring shower shoes and a robe for outdoor shower!! If you book in the winter, please be advised it will be like dry camping- bring your own wood and water. Keep in mind that this is still considered camping. Although comfortable, please don't expect it to have all the luxuries of a home. Bring some cozy slippers to keep your feet warm as we prefer to minimize the impact by leaving shoes at the door. Bring your own water or jugs to fill and haul like you would at any dry camp site.
You can howl and scream as loud as you want!! We live in the woods. Some would say in the Deep woods! It's a dirt road to our house and although the county does care for it during winter months, you will need AWD to even make it up our driveway. We have a great proximity to Mount Adams. There are plenty of trails and fun winter sports to do up there including cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Please be advised, we cannot offer you a warm shower during winter months. You need to be OK with roughing it a little bit :-) also, we are parents to two very small children. Out of respect for their bedtimes as well as the neighborhood we ask that guests arrive during daylight hours. We have provided early check in hours. We will not be able to assist you past dark for your arrival. The area is too challenging for you to navigate on your own in the late night. We want you to safely see the area and have a wonderful time. There is a wooden round house about 75 feet from the yurt that is occupied. The tenant there is extremely respectful of guests and will be available to assist with guest needs. Expect a burn ban to be in effect as of July 1 until usually October 1. The county does not allow any fires of any sort.
  • So loved staying at the yurt with my 2 daughters. Everything as described, even better! Just lovely. Wonderful communication with Kathryn. What a gorgeous area of our state, can't wait to come back!

    Mona2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved every second of our stay!!

    Maggie2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super great property and perfect accommodations. The only downside was a noisy rooster that cockadoodledoo'd from sun up to sun down. Other than that, it was a beautiful get away.

    Ambur2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start?! We absolutly loved staying in the Yurt! It is one of those places, that looks small from the outside, but ones you step inside a palace opens up. There were 4 of us and we slept like a log on the most comfortable bed on our 3 week trip through the US and a wonderful pullout sofa bed. The kitchen is well equiped and the grill a wonderful addition of which we made the best use of. The bathroom is in the open, but works very well. Kathryn is still learining of its use, but it worked very well for us. The deck was wonderful for an evening gathering and morning coffee. The only thing to note is that you might have a bit of a problem getting all the way down the hill to the Yurt, but if you have a four wheel drive, or even a two wheel drive but a light car, you won't have any problems. Kathryn and her wonderful family were a pleasure to meet! They are very interesting and both Kathryn and her husband were full of useful advice, while their cute daughter just made our day! Overall, we highly recommend staying with Kathryn!

  • Rustic, secluded yurt in the forest. Peaceful, tranquil. Wood stove heats it up perfectly in winter. What more can a person want?

    Jenny2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool place, off the beaten path. A great spot to disconnect from the internet and city life. Bring plenty of firewood and listen to the rain drizzle down over the canopy.

    Wyatt2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn's yurt was an amazing experience. It felt like camping but with the comforts of home. The bed was so comfy and we enjoyed looking out the skylight while laying in bed. Close to White Salmon & Hood River for daytime activities. Would highly recommend this place to everyone looking for some quiet in the forest.

    Danielle2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVED staying in the yurt. Very peaceful and yet provided everything I could need, including a great place to view the Perseid Meteor Shower! I would definitely stay there again and wish I could have stayed longer. It was definitely good value, and I didn't mind the rustic aspects of it at all.

Charming furnished bedroom on the top floor with a private sitting area down below for rent in a very quiet residential area in the Heights of Hood River. If you forget to bring your iPod/iPad or Smart phone charger, not to worry, your bedroom has a double USB outlet for your convenience. Easy access to all points in the Gorge. Hiking around the Gorge is fantastic. We will let you know our favorites ones. Lots of wineries as well in the Hood River valley. Tour the Columbia Gorge Appellation (AVA) vineyards. Hood River is also known for its great micro-breweries: Full Sail, Double Mountain, Everybody Brew. After a long day hiking, nothing better than a cold locally brewed beer. Several delicious restaurants within minutes. Bakery, grocery store and shopping area also within one mile. Coffee shop and local pubs 5 minutes by foot from our place. Your rental has its own private entrance.
The neighborhood is residential. Rather quiet especially at night. We are about a mile away form downtown Hood River. Which means that all the noise from the freeway and the railroad doesn't reach our house. Peace and quiet, yes.
  • This was our first time using Airbnb and we had a great experience. Bernard's place was perfect in every way, it was very private and clean and my Wife loved all of the special touches including the food items on arrival. We can't wait to stay here again.

  • Bernard was a welcoming, kind host. We had a very positive experience and started planning our return trip almost immediately! The listing is everything it says and more. :-) It was the perfect comfort for our small family (we had our toddler in tow) or a romantic getaway.

  • Second time staying here, great again! Couldn't imagine more reasonable and thoughtfully presented accommodations!

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is close to down town and was easy to find. The room was much larger than anticipated, clean, and welcoming. Bernard was too kind providing coffee and a light breakfast. By far the best value in Hood River. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • We arrived late at night. The house was very inviting and all rooms were comfortable. We awoke to a beautiful view of Mt. Hood. The neighborhood is very quiet. There was a grocery store just down the hill where we got snacks and any supplies we forgot to pack. We also ate at a delicious cafe in the town. The location suited us very well. We hiked Mt Hood which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Hood River is a short drive away. Kite surfers shocked me and the town had fun breweries. Some of our group went white water rafting just outside White Salmon too. The communication with the hosts was great. The only issue was we were short towels, but that was taken care of before we needed them. I would encourage people to stay here!

  • Nova's place is FANTASTIC! It's a cute guest house situated just behind the main house and is very private and spacious. My husband and I were in Hood River for a trip and found Nova's place to have more than enough space for the two of us. The beds were super comfy and we could not have asked for a better experience. The nearby town is also very charming and there is a lot to do! We can't wait to come back!

  • A great place to stay to be able to walk into town or relax and have your own view of the river. The space is small, but well used to give parties over 2 their own personal space. I will be back.

    Maggie2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nova's place was great! No problems, clean, adorable space (tiny for a house, sure, but not too small for a short stay). Definitely will look to stay here again next trip to Hood River.

This is a private residence located on Columbia Street. This home is closer to the residential-end of the street, so you really feel at home with friendly neighbors yet you are only a 1/2 mile walk to Full Sail Brewery. This home features 3 bds, 1 bath and a Great room/Kitchen with eat-in table. The large picture windows capture water and mountain views from both the 1st and 2nd floor. Like to do yoga, meditate, or just have some space to stretch? The entire 2nd floor is an open space.
Walk/Bike to downtown shops/restaurants. Most of them are about a 10-12 minute walk (.5 mile) away. This space offers an entirely open unfurnished 2nd floor for those looking for extra leg room while they stay, with the bonus of enjoying a great view from up there! This is NOT a party home, if you or your group are planning a large social event, we cannot book your stay.

  • Sam and Nova have a beautiful home in Hood River that is close to town and the water. The home is very open and bright and has a great deck. We had a great time and would definitely come back. They are very responsive and available should you need anything.

  • Great place! The house was clean and had everything that we needed to be comfortable. It also had a wonderful deck with a hammock and a view of the river. The house is about a 10 min walk from shops and restaurants and has a good kitchen for cooking in too. Nova was a prompt communicator and check in and out was a breeze.

  • Great experience!

    Hannah2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nova's place was perfect for our visit! The number of places we were able to walk to was so convenient and the grocery store was just up the road. The views from the house were gorgeous too. Plenty of space for us to spread out and a fully functioning kitchen. Definitely recommend to groups of friends or family who are looking for a weekend getaway in Hood River!

One bedroom/one bath studio with private entrance available in our home (we live upstairs:). Kitchenette in room (sink, fridge, microwave, electric kettle) stocked with dishes, towels, etc. Easy walk to Heights restaurants and bakery. 15 minute walk downtown through neighborhood or via Indian Creek Trail . HR Permit #557
The studio apt. is on the first floor, separate from the main house with no shared spaces. It has its own entrance through the backyard garden, which is yours to enjoy. The space itself is modern, clean, and comfortable. The studio has it's own air conditioner/heater, you set the temp to whatever is most comfortable for you. There is a large closet, a small table for meals and a desk for your use. High speed wireless is available. The house sits back from Wilson Street, and is accessed by the alley between Wilson and Hull. Although this makes it a bit harder to find the first time, it is very quiet and private with no traffic noise. There is room for one car in the driveway.
Located in the Heights neighborhood, conveniently located with coffee shops, bars, awesome bakery and restaurants close by. Downtown Hood River is just a short 15 minute walk. Also nearby is the Indian Creek Trail, the community pool, and great mountain biking in the extensive Post Canyon Trail System. The winter season offers skiing and snowboarding a 40 minute drive to Mount Hood.
  • Susan and Scott were great! They provided all sorts of information on area attractions! The place was spotless and the bed was comfy! It was a feat vacation! And the kiteboarding was spectacular! We will definetly return to little little piece of paradise!

    sasha2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was conveniently located and looked amazing. There were several nice accommodations: coffee, tea, sweets, collection of books, TV with Roku (Netflix/HBO-GO/Hulu/etc.), and others. We will definitely be revisiting this home as it was exactly what we were looking for. The room is secluded and feels very private. It's a great location for a couples getaway and is only a few minutes from downtown Hood River.

    Josh2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Super wonderful, very private.

    Michael2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and it was great! Space was as pictured and little extra touches made it much better than a standard hotel stay (handwritten welcome note, fresh flowers, pamphlets and a parks pass, etc). I would stay here again!

    Sarah2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great room! Close to town and walking distance to a excellent bakery! Would stay again!

  • So great place very quite! Very close to hood river downtown! I love it!

    JIE2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Susan and Scott's place. 15 minutes to walk to downtown, and cozy, warm spot to retreat to after a night out. Easy to use TV, clean, coffee/oatmeal in the little kitchen.

    Reed2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Susan and Scott! The apartment is adorable, very clean and cute with everything you might need for a short stay. The garden/sitting area just outside the apartment's private entrance is lovely. The location is not right in the middle of town, but it's a very short drive and even a manageable walk, if you're okay with hills :) The house/apartment is a little tricky to find the first time, but Susan sent a message in advance with tips on how to navigate beyond GPS. We were most impressed with Susan and Scott's communication with us leading up to our trip. There were severe forest fires in the area, and they sent us multiple messages to update us on the situation and make helpful suggestions. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay for a couple nights in Hood River, and we would definitely come back to stay again!

Great cozy place with a bohemian feel, privacy and plenty of space for 2-4 people. Small kitchen ( no oven) Private gated deck super KID friendly. Mini library/study. Cottage is located next to our main house but your space is private. Enjoy a sauna after a day out. Just added a loft bed with slide for a small child. Sorry no adults on it as tempting as the slide is. New pull out couch that has a memory foam topper. Sleeps 4 adults and a child. Sleeps 4 comfortably. 900 sq ft. WiFi but no TV.
One master bedroom that is very big, reading room but air mattress will fit, and studio attached with cozy pullout couch. One bathroom and tiny kitchen no oven. Most complaints I get are people not wanting to leave the space to go explore. Sauna, private deck, and cozy sheets!
We live on 6 acres but can walk to a few vineyards, amazing mountain bike riding on the famous post canyon. It's secluded yet close to everything.
  • Hannah and her family made us feel very comfortable. Actually the place is bigger and even more inviting than the pictures portray. There is so much to see inside the house that we had to almost push ourselves to venture into beautiful lush green nature. Communication was especially easy and friendly. Everything was clean and we had a well equipped kitchen to make some wonderful simple meals.

    Sula2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah's place is great! It's conveniently located close to downtown and close to some wineries. The listing was perfect for our needs and Hannah was so warm and welcoming upon arrival! would highly recommend staying with her if you get the chance!

    Marin2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • what a lovely guesthouse, and what a natural hostess hannah is. we felt spectacularly lucky to be able to stay here, and were spoiled rotten by her accommodations. we can't wait to come back.

    Memry2015-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • There isn't a whole lot to say because the other guests have said it all! Hannah's space was perfect for the four of us. The deck space was perfect to watch the stars and enjoy the sounds of the creek at night. You walk into her guest house and immediately feel at peace. It was perfect for a quick getaway. I love staying in the heart of the town of Hood River, but staying 8 minutes out of town in the quiet was fantastic and will consider staying slightly out of town again!Definitely would recommend for one or two couples hanging out!

    Joanna2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Hannah's lovely apartment. The place is absolutely perfect! There is plenty of room to stretch out both inside and outside. Downtown Hood River is only a short ride away while you get to enjoy the quite of the Post Canyon area. We will definitely be staying here again!

    chase2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay in Hood River. Close to down town and on the Fruit Loop.

    Elisabeth2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah's guesthouse is beautiful and comfortable. We felt welcome and were treated kindly by everyone we came in contact with. Hannah's family is close by and available for questions and guidance about great hikes/restaurants, but we had complete privacy both in the house and on our own private deck. The location is perfect- far enough away from town and busy roads to be quiet but within half an hour of driving to almost anywhere we wanted to go. Our only regret is that we spent so much time hiking and having fun in the area that we didn't get to explore Hannah's amazing library!

    Vance and Kathy2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Hannah's place. She was very caring and proactive, making sure we had everything we needed even before we got there. The house was perfect even for a family of 3. Rooms were separated so the parents could still have a nice quiet evening while the baby slept next door. Plenty of books to read. Great location to downtown as well!

Our sweet cottage with its Mt. Adams view comes with a large yard perfect for children, pets and bar-b-ques. Bordering a city park, it's located on a peaceful neighborhood street. Pool, tennis courts, bakery and restaurants are just 2 blocks away! The cottage is set up for two people, but does have a full-sized futon couch on the sun porch that can accommodate two more during warmer months (for an extra $10/night fee).
The Mountain View Cottage is a cozy, light-filled cottage with a large, airy sun porch--perfect for enjoying the Mt Adams view with your morning coffee. Located in the heights of Hood River, the cottage is set up for two people, with a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom. There is also a full-sized futon bed on the sun porch, which can sleep two in warmer weather (late spring to early fall). (The porch is full enclosed and has heat, but is not insulated.) The cottage comes with a completely equipped kitchen, as well as a gas grill, picnic table and large, sunny yard with plenty of room for adults, children and pets to play. The cottage has a T.V. and DVD player, for movies, Netflix, etc.--but is not equipped with cable or regular television reception. A full basement offers storage for your toys and outdoors gear, as well as a washer and dryer for your use.
Taylor Avenue is a quiet street that borders Hood River's Jackson Park, which has tree-shaded picnic tables, a playground for children and adjacent tennis courts and pool. Definitely plan to have breakfast at the nearby Pine Street bakery (Pine Street and Twelfth), then head on down the street for delicious organic food and deli items from the Farmstand Cafe. La Taqueria (3 blocks south on 13th Street) offers some of the best Mexican food, outdoor seating and margaritas around!
  • Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. This is a small charming house conveniently located near the downtown area. There are a few restaurants, coffee shops and a park within walking distance. The kitchen was well stocked if you'd like to cook your own meals. WiFi was ample as well. We found the bed to be more firm than we prefer and would have preferred it if we had packed some power strips as outlets in the rooms were pretty sparse. The backyard is a good size if you're traveling with a dog but note that it is not fenced in. We would totally stay here again in the future.

  • Great cottage near downtown Hood River. Beautiful view of Mt Adams in the backyard, perfect for relaxing outside after an active day. Friendly hosts, and very helpful. Everything was as described. A really comfortable, nice place to stay.

  • This is a very charming little house on a quiet street. It is very convenient to some local places to eat, an easy walk or drive to downtown, and very accessible to local wineries and drives in the area. The place is extremely clean and well maintain and even has a view of Mt. Adams. We loved staying here.

    Laurie2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage- simple , clean sweet. Couple things to note - no screens in windows and tv is cable-less. Not s big deal but just good to know! Great back yard with killer view

  • Leigh and Bengt's cottage is lovely. It is well appointed and decorated. Even though it is only has a single bedroom, it is wonderfully laid out and easily accommodated our family of 4 + dog. The cottage was clean and had everything you would need to settle in for a few days (or longer). We would happily stay here again.

    Richard2014-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The cottage was cozy and the view of Mt. Adams was gorgeous!

Our cozy Hood River Studio is in walking distance to downtown and close to all outdoor activities! Come enjoy a weekend exploring the local breweries, brewpubs, wineries, and orchards. We'd love to share with you some of our favorite local spots. After you've spent the day snowboarding, skiing, hiking, kiting, wind surfing, or SUP-ing, come back and relax in the quiet Studio. You’ll love the comfy bed. Our Studio is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. HR Lic # 644
Our house is a skinny house - very recognizable and unique. But we don't let the narrowness bother us! The house has great charm and the yard / garden is amazing (especially in the Spring and Summer months)! The space is great for a single traveler or for two people. The king bed is super comfortable. The Studio is on the ground floor / basement level of the home and has many windows to let light in, while also offering full privacy when you need it.
  • Will was very attentive to our needs. He kept in touch with us until we were settled and remained available throughout our stay to answer questions. The space was very clean and the bed was great. We'll be back!

  • This was the perfect place to stay while in Hood River. Close enough to main street but also tucked away in a quaint beautiful neighborhood. I would stay here again anytime.

    Zachary2017-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I drove the hour from Portland for a brief midweek anniversary getaway. With two kids in college, Hood River was what we could afford. This place is very quiet, away from noise of the Interstate and the railroad tracks. It is set on the side of the steep hill climbing out of the town. If the roads are freezing, I would not recommend coming here without an all-wheel drive vehicle. Unit is less than a half-mile from greater downtown Hood River, but any walk would be remembered for its steepness. Suite is in the downstairs part of a narrow house built on the side of the hill. It is well-lit by indoor and outdoor light. Security of door is good. Comfortable kingsize bed. Bathroom has shower. Quality towels are provided. Kitchen area has microwave, fridge, glasstop induction plate, basic utensils and table seating for two. Communication with the host was gracious and timely. All of it took place via email and texting. During our stay neither the host nor we guests bothered each other with face-to face contact. Had we done so, I'm sure it would have been pleasant. Cozy and quiet are the two best words to summarize the unit. (I am not a professional travel writer.)

    Paul2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The room was perfect. Plenty of space and had everything you'd need--coffee and tea, smart tv for relaxing, well-heated, and totally clean. They even gave homemade soap and left beer in the fridge. The hosts also provided a snow brush and ice scraper when it had snowed the morning we were leaving. Overall a perfect experience and would certainly stay again.

    Ryan2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect home base for our Hood River stay. We came here during the holidays and Will was great at making sure we had everything we needed to get around. The place was immaculate, but cozy. Bonus was the heated tiles in the bathroom - crucial after spending a cold day outside. We had everything we needed to feel like a home away from home. It's a short walk into town to get food or whatever you need. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome place to stay in the area.

    Cait2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We will stay again if ever in the area. The hosts were so helpful with our inquiries and our lack of snow knowledge especially. They really went above and beyond to help us, we are so thankful. Place is clean and comfortable. Appreciated the coffee and amenities. The kitchen was perfect for making small meals and was great for our needs. We walked everywhere, to shops and the local breweries, and even to the river.

    hamutahl2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect! We stayed three nights in August. No air conditioner was not a problem at all, it was cool at night. Great location and scenic views from the garden. Will was very welcoming and even greeted us with his favorite wine and some treats. Will stay here again 100%.

    Joan2017-08-17T00:00:00Z

  • Amy, your was the best rental we’ve stayed at to date for many reasons- good “hanging out” living room couch, roomy dining table, great beds made for adults (no bunkbeds!), wonderful views and location that was perfect. We arrived, parked the car and never drove again till we left for home 4 days later. Walked everywhere, up the hill to the hiking trail, down to the river front and all around town. Will definitely recommend to friends. It is close to train tracks so there is train noise. With windows closed it was not a problem, but would be fairly loud with open windows.

All our neighbors are very friendly, nice people. We try to keep the noise level down as sounds does carry outside the house with the openess of the hilltop.
  • I'm sure there are comparable places in the area but I can't imagine better! The views of Mt Hood and the Gorge are nearly 360 from the house. Lots of windows, great front porch. The house is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Mt Hood and White Salmon are fun little towns with plenty to do and nice people, solid shopping and it looked like the dining options were there. We were underwhelmed with the Mt Hood Railroad...kind of glad we did it once but not again. The trip up thru the orchards toward Mt Hood is well worth it but would be a quicker and a more flexible car ride. Great place to take bicycles though be prepared for hills...we will consider renting again specifically for a bike trip group. 3 couples would stay very comfortably and there is plenty of house space for that many. There is an additional spot for a couple of kids or flexible adults. Kitchen is great...plenty of space and well equipped for the casual or the serious cook. Beds were comfortable and well equipped. We were delighted that well behaved pets were welcome....there were no signs that others had abused the privilege, renters, pls keep it pet friendly! There is a shaded deck out back that is perfect to corral a pet while you are gone. Though we didn't meet the hosts they were everything we could ask for over email and text. We would highly recommend this property and host and would definitely come back and stay again!

  • What a lovely home! Spent three nights here with two couples and three kids (ages 5,3 and 1) and the space was exactly what we needed. The kids loved playing in the front yard, the adults loved relaxing on the deck and preparing meals in the well-stocked kitchen. The views from the house are incredible and the house itself well-appointed. Our families were quite comfortable there--we were always so excited to return after a long day of exploring all the area has to offer. The house is very close to White Salmon town (a walk or short drive) and a 10-ish minute drive to Hood River.

    Kate2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent three days at the house and could not have asked for a better place. The house has an airy, open floor plan.It hds direct views of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River. The kitchen had a great stove for cooking with a counter where people could sit and chat. Everything was super clean. There was just eniouh there for what we neeeded. We used the grill a lot. It was huge and awesome. Whst can I say? We were sad to leave. That's a true mark of a great stay.

    Alex2013-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very inviting. It was in a wonderful neighborhood. And a fabulous view of Mount Hood. There was a room on the second floor, an eyrie kind of room, where one could read, have a glass of wine or just take a look at the view. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds comfy. Everything clean. My husband and I, plus our son and his wife, had more than enough room.

    Patricia2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our host made us feel very warm and welcome. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! This home met all of our families needs and the views were absolutely breathtaking! Beautiful neighborhood walks. We also enjoyed playing lawn games in the oversized front lawn.

    Cory2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great Gorge location with fine views of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River. The house is comfortable, with room to spread out on two levels. The unique room (we called it the nest) upstairs at the end of a catwalk is a nice feature. It's cozy but has windows on three sides that open it up to the scenery beyond. We enjoyed our getaway here on a rainy holiday weekend!

    Andrew2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the house! Only a mile to the town center and a lot of beautiful roads and trails to run on right from the house. Really felt like home. Can't wait to return next year!

  • Our long weekend at Kurt and Summyr's home was an absolute delight. It's close enough to Hood River to enjoy wine tasting and shops but isolated enough to revel in the quiet beauty of the Gorge. We had a group of 6, and the home was spacious enough for all to be comfortable. They even left out supplies for our pup so he could enjoy the trip as well! We absolutely recommend this stunning home!

  • The house was beautiful! There's a big kitchen and a gorgeous living room that overlooks a mountain/hill in the distance. The place was outfitted with everything you'd need to cook. The only drawback was the downstairs bathroom -- it smelled moldy (maybe because the walls are wood).

  • This cabin is okay. The location is great in quiet forest area. Close to cute town of White Salmon. The cabin is huge, living room/kitchen on first floor and bedrooms in basement. The house has all the amenities you need, washer/dryer, dishwasher etc. The downside: sofa was dirty, full of crumbs (chips). Bathtub had hairs in it. The room with bunk beds: the mattress was falling apart and looked like a ghost coming to get you. The two other rooms were fine, no ghosts there. We paid $250/night, had 2 nights there. A bit expensive for an outdated cabin.

  • Really nice place for a team retreat weekend. Far enough away from it all to keep from being distracted but close enough to go into White Salmon for dinner. The living room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the views (especially on Sunday when it snowed and we could look out at the snow covered trees). We also made good use of the kitchen and found it adequately stocked for making meals. When we arrived some of the power was off, but we were able to fix it by using the breakers and resetting the outlet upstairs.

  • The house was beautiful! Very secluded and it would have been exactly what we were expecting had the power worked appropriately. For the majority of our stay, we only had power in 1 of the 3 bedrooms and did not have power for the refrigerator, the bathrooms, or the outlet that the WiFi was plugged into. For this inconvenience, they did credit us for one night of our three night stay. All of the kitchen tools worked well. There were no issues other than the power. Had the power worked well, I would have booked this home again.

The place was great for our weekend trip to Hood River. There is a great little bakery for a morning coffee just a few blocks away - Pine St. Bakery - the cinnamon rolls are delicious.
