Welcome to the strange nexus of the universe where you can live tiny and large at the same time! We can't wait to host you. Please read our profile and take note of the house rules, then let us know if you have any questions!
Our tiny home tries really hard to be as wonderful as the cedar tree it sits next to. It even dressed itself in fancy cedar siding and lathered itself with tung oil. And although its efforts may have failed (it's hard to top mother nature), a definite theme has been born. Runner-up names included Hail Cedar! and 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Cedar. Amenities: - Two cruiser bicycles - Two beach chairs, beach towels, bag, and small cooler - Two hammocks - Outdoor patio with rocking chair and bench - Outdoor shower - Unique board games designed for two-person play - Bluetooth speaker - White noise maker - Small book collection The bicycles are especially great, because there are a few restaurants and a music venue within a leisurely five minute ride. More on that later. Now, onto the house: It's tiny! But it doesn't feel that way. The light color of the bamboo flooring, the many windows and the high ceilings help to open it up. The loft holds a queen-sized mattress, which sits low to the floor on tatami mats. There is a full bath with a rain-down shower, air vent, and cloth curtain door. There is a fully functional kitchen, with gas stove and microwave. There is a desk/table and a futon couch that opens to sleep an (additional) adult or two young children (who are very welcome). Amenities for daily living abound: wi-fi; soaps, towels & bed linens; cookware; electrical kettle; coffee maker and french press; a selection of teas and coffee; wine glasses and a wine opener, etc. If you are in need of anything, just ask!
If you're driving at the right time, you can be downtown in less than ten minutes or on Folly Beach in fifteen. Or you can easily jump to John's Island, where you can check out the Angel Oak or go wake boarding and play disc golf on Whitney Lakes. When you decide to come back, the perfect location awaits: relaxing and peaceful, with great venues just a walk or bike ride away. We're very happy to live where we do. The neighborhood, Riverland Terrace, is full of charm and wonderful people. Funky 1950's bungalows are sprinkled throughout. All who live here seem to do so with joy. Joggers, dog walkers, and families abound. There is a golf course, a community garden, and beautiful Wappoo Drive, lined with a tunnel of live oaks. There is a children's park and boat landing. And there is, within a three minute bike ride or short walk, some really great businesses: an indie movie theater (The Terrace Theatre), great restaurants (Zia's Taqueria, Crust, Maybank Public House, & The Lot), and a larger-sized music venue (The Pour House). There is also a farmer's market at the Pour House on Sundays, 11am-3pm. This is not to be missed, with live music and drinks and local crafts. You can cruise there via the bicycles if you like.
  • We had a good time staying in the Cedar House. Even though we never met Brian and had minor issues with check-in, overall the tiny house was well equipped and comfortable. It's unfortunate that they have to keep a clunky and loud dehumidifier in there. The loft has a comfortable bed and a surprisingly good head height. We hope to have the chance to stay with them again.

  • Brian's tiny house was absolutely perfect! Great location, Brian is so helpful and accommodating, and the house is clean, comfortable and adorable! I definitely recommend staying in this beautiful tiny house!

  • Brian's place was perfect for our one-night stopover in Charlotte. Impeccably clean, modern, and efficient, we loved exploring the Tiny House. It had all the amenities we needed, the bed was very comfortable, and it was quite romantic for a couple. Brian is great, easy to get a hold of, and makes check-in and check-out easy. Highly recommend!

  • The Tiny House was the best vacation experience we have ever had. The recommendations from Brian were on point and we felt like we were able to do everything we wanted while in Charleston. Check it out!!

  • Just awesome. Clearly the coolest Airbnb we've stayed in. Brian's tiny home is beautifully designed and crafted. Brian wasn't home during our stay but was hugely helpful when I talked with him on the phone. The area has many cool places to eat and is only a short drive from downtown Charleston. We really hope we can stay here again sometime.

  • Unique and quaint stay at a tiny house! Enjoyed every second. The decor, appliances, and small touches made the stay well equipped for anything and rather comfortable! Bikes, Bluetooth speaker, rainfall shower head, beautiful stove, mini fridge, white noise sound maker near bed in loft, hammock-- all available with total privacy. Brian was readily available via phone/text and very pleasant and hospitable despite never getting the chance to meet him or Ava in person. Would definitely recommend!

  • Wonderful host! Very personable and helpful. Awesome Tiny House experience. Really clean and tidy space. We will definitely stay here again once we come through this area again!

Great location, laid back and hands- off hosts, and completely private and detached garage apartment. Walk to dozens of shops, restaurants and bars, and just a 3 mile drive or $8 Uber ride to historic King Street. About 10 miles to all 3 beaches. Park right outside your apartment!
This is a cool, clean, modern detached garage apartment in Charleston's coolest neighborhood- Avondale. Avondale has been named coolest neighborhood 3 years running by Charleston City Paper, and it's easy to see why. Walk or bike to over a dozen pubs, restaurants, shops, salons, yoga studios, etc... including Pearlz, Al di la, Triangle, The Glass Onion, Mex 1, Gene's Haufbrau, Voodoo, and The Roost, (to name a few) all just a block or so away from the apartment. We are only 3 miles to the heart of historic downtown Charleston, and only 20 minutes to Folly, Sullivan's or Isle of Palms. We are also only a few blocks from the West Ashley greenway- a local biking/walking/running path that cuts through the city. It's a great way to get your exercise in, or to get over to South Windemere shopping center to do a little eating at Med Bistro or shopping at Half Moon Outfitters. The apartment is a true studio- with no walls separating living areas, but it's charming and clean, and you can't beat the location. Fully equipped kitchen as well. This IS NOT downtown Charleston- it is just over the drawbridge from the peninsula. You will have access to beach chairs, a beach Umbrella and a cooler if you would like. Anything else, just ask and we will try to accommodate ! We try to meet all guests face to face upon check in if possible, but occasionally leave a key under the mat if we aren't going to be around. Other than that- we don't interact with guests much unless we see each other coming and going in the driveway. Feel free to approach us with questions, but we understand how guests prefer privacy on vacation, and we try to respect this. A car is the best way to get downtown- even though it's only a few miles a way there is no bike lane on the Ashley River bridge- so unless you are an experienced bike rider - I would drive- but once you are downtown, walking or biking is the best way to see everything. Closer to home, here in Avondale, almost everything is within walking or biking distance, and it's easy to get around that way. An uber ride downtown is $8-$10.Taxis are fairly inexpensive as well, and there is a city bus that stops a block away, but Charleston isn't known for its public transit, so I can't vouch for it. There are also water taxis that can take you to Mount Pleasant and back! There is a tall set of stairs leading up to the apartment and the shower is pretty small.
Avondale is a trendy community just outside the Charleston peninsula- about 3 miles to the heart of the Historic District. It is comprised of several modest but eclectic neighborhoods surrounding a thriving bar & restaurant scene. This is not a tourist spot so you will likely be the only tourists there! Walk to dinner, breakfast, yoga, groceries, thrift stores- you name it.
  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Brett and Shannon's. Check in was easy. They were responsive and easy to communicate with. The pictures are accurate, their place is adorable and in a great location. Would definitely stay there on our next visit to Charleston.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I travel frequently in 3-4 star hotels. This has by far, been the most welcoming location I have ever stayed in. Comfortable digs, a great location, and personal tips from the hosts, make this a real home-like stay. The bed was plush and the whole apartment was just welcoming. Brett and Shannon greeted us upon our arrival and Shannon made contact before to make sure we were good to go with our directions and such. We will be visiting again and highly recommend this location to anyone going to the Charleston area. We were in walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, and a 10 minute ride from downtown. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Brett and Shannon.

  • What a cozy place in a great neighborhood! Very easy to get into the city by car, about 10 minutes. The owner kept in touch frequently to check if everything was alright. They also left some great recommendations for restaurants and sights. The place is very clean and I would recommend to stay here!

    Yvette2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and perfect space with everything you need! We were only in town for a shirt one but hope to come back here again!

  • My husband and I had a lovely stay at this garage apartment in West Ashley-- just a 5-7 minute drive from downtown. The neighborhood is quaint and the apartment is just a couple blocks from the "main drag" in West Ashley with plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. This was our first visit to Charleston and the basket of menus and city information in the cottage was much appreciated. Also-- Shannon kept in great communication via text and was happy to answer questions. She also recommended a well-located parking garage right by a restaurant we were dining at downtown which we wouldn't have found otherwise. This was our first time sleeping in a double bed in quite some time, but it did not feel cramped and was very comfortable. The shower is rather small as well- European style. Brett and Shannon left some things in the fridge for us to enjoy which was a nice added touch! We would definitely stay here again if visiting Charleston and wanting a little more peace, quiet and value than accommodations downtown can offer!

    Wesley2013-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! I needed a place to stay one night (the night before my wedding) and I'm glad I found this place. The price was right and it was in a good location. Prior to arriving, I received great communications from Shannon on how to get to the location and where to go once I got there. Once there, I felt quite comfortable with the neighborhood. It was clean and safe and also close to a bunch of amenities (banks, grocery stores, fun restaurants, etc). It was a hot day in June, but the AC was cranking and the place was cool and comfortable. I was surprised with the layout of the place, but in a good way. For a 1 bd studio feel, it was extremely roomy and well laid out. Everything was stocked and clean and there was even a bottle of wine on the island, which made it feel right at home.

    Seth2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Visiting a new city for the first time is always exciting, but the added benefit of Shannon and Brett's friendliness and recommendations for restaurants and places to visit, made my trip so much more personal. The apartment was cozily decorated and supplied with everything a guest needs, from hair dryer to restaurant brochures and local magazines. The location is really close to historic downtown Charleston, Folly Beach and a short drive to Magnolia Plantation. Total Wine, Earth Fare and Harris Teeter grocery are close by as well!! 5 out of 5!!! I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience!!!

Come stay in the heart of the new downtown, 2 blocks from the restaurants and shops of upper King and only a few minutes more from everything else the city has to offer. Large queen bed and queen sleeper sofa, fully equipped kitchen, clawfoot tub and even more luxuries.
This apartment is uniquely at the intersection of newly-built luxury and historical charm. It just had the finishing touches put on in January 2016, so it is brand new. However, it is an addition to a lovely Caribbean-inspired Victorian house built in 1886, so that facade is what you will see from the street. Charleston suffered a large earthquake in August of 1886, and even though the house was not yet finished it withstood the earthquake that destroyed hundreds of other bigger, stronger buildings nearby. It was repaired and finished before the year's end. The materials, decor and furniture chosen for this addition are a mix of salvage from the original house, antiques, and reproductions. This is intended to reflect the eclectic range of styles that were most prominent in the house as it was found. This light-filled hideaway is a quick walk to most of the main museums, theaters, music venues, parks, and of course our excellent shopping. Nothing on the peninsula is more than about a mile away. There is a free bus that is easy to pick up, rickshaws, and of course you can always grab an Uber! It is also only a five minute walk from the best restaurants and bars on Upper King Street, directly across the street from Sugar Bakeshop and a block away from the world famous Hominy Grill. A food lover couldn't ask for a better location! Some special features of this apartment are: -ability to sleep four with queen size premium mattress sofa bed- the bedroom has been recently equipped by a new mattress and replaced light fixture with a remote- controlled fan light -a spacious roof deck with a view of the Ravenel Bridge complete with pool chairs, table and umbrella - Third-story 360-degree glassed-in sun room with plush seating -wifi and smart televisions in both living room and bedroom -off-street parking area! -Freshly reglazed antique clawfoot tub with ceiling-mounted adjustable shower head -fully equipped kitchenette with all new appliances including gas stove, full-size refrigerator, garbage disposal, and every utensil you need to make a meal with the beautiful things you'll buy at the farmers market in Marion Square! And don't forget to peruse what could be called the Second Bible in Charleston, the cookbook "Charleston Receipts," as well as the other cookbooks on the shelves -Kitchen is also stocked with coffee, tea, spices, flour, sugar, oils and most other non-perishables for your convenience -Washer and dryer (including detergent and fabric softener) available upon request -local owners to answer your questions and bring extra blankets, towels, etc. or fix anything that may go wrong Cannon Street and neighbor Spring Street are where most of the wedding businesses and many of the wedding venues are located if that is a concern. We live nearby and happy to assist with any of your needs, issues with the property, or even just recommendations for things to do or places to eat.
Cannonborough is walkable, full of restaurants and shops, and all-around beautiful! It has an interesting mix of architectural styles and houses in various states of preservation. At the same time there are some of the most renovation jobs happening here at the moment out of anywhwere in the city, (not close enough to be loud) with more buildings being returned to their former glory every day. New businesses seem to be popping up just as often- wedding halls, gourmet French places, coffee shops, bars, ice cream parlors, boutiques, even a crepe restaurant and a boba shop. It is certainly an exciting time to be in Cannonborough!
  • Absolutely beautiful place to stay. So clean and had everything we would or did need for the best stay. Communication was amazing. AJ and the guestbook helped with recommendations. The location is awesome and we walked everywhere. Highly recommend this place!

  • Great spot in Charleston. I did not meet Alison during my stay but she made sure everything went well and was available if needed anything. The place was clean and we loved the rooftop deck area. We would definitely recommend this Airbnb and look forward to staying here again in the future!

    Jason2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved staying at Alison's place. It was a super cute apartment, private, clean, well decorated, and the perfect retreat home after days of beach and travel. We especially loved the rooftop window room for reading and relaxing. Location is great—walking distance from restaurants, convenience store, and the big King Street for shopping and night life. We would love to come back here again!

  • great stay. cozy, clean, restful space. it was nice to come "home" to after sightseeing each day in the bright sun. lots of good resturants near by. easy pick up for ubers. parking available. all details related to booking, locating, checking in etc. we're handled with ease & professionalism. only wish we could stay longer!

  • Wonderful stay. Alison's place was perfection. She paid great attention to detail and the place was beautifully laid out. Would love to stay here again.

    Bilal2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Alison thought of everything from Netflix on the tv, to the creamer for the coffee in the fridge. The apartment was so lovely decorated, and it was walking distance from king street, and many wonderful restaurants. We really loved eating at five loaves cafe, make sure you check it out! Also the beer at Edmunds oast is amazing, this coming from a beer connoisseur. This really is the perfect place to stay in Charleston, and we will for sure stay here again.

    Stephen2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really a nice little apartment, beautifully decorated and and well stocked with almost anything you'd need. Loved the rooftop patio as well. Great location, we walked all over the city and Ubers were plentiful if you got tired of walking. Located in an up and coming area with plenty of close by restaurants. Would stay there again. Host was very responsive.

    Steve2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely! The apartment is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. It was a great base for exploring Charleston, it's walkable to everything and there are great options for food nearby. Check-in was very smooth since the keys can be left in a lockbox. This is great since it's always hard trying to meet someone in a new city when you don't quite know how long it will take from the airport. The roof deck is amazing for sunbathing or relaxing in the evenings. The decor in the apartment is also lovely. We will definitely be back if we're in Charleston again.

Located in the quiet Wagener Terrace Neighborhood in downtown Charleston just about a 3-5 minute drive (or short bike ride) from Upper King, amazing restaurants and shopping. Gorgeous 76 acre Hampton Park is right around the corner as well as the Citadel Military College and the Ashley River. Our local Charleston farmer's market at Marion Square is just over a mile and half away along with many historic sites. Everything downtown is very convenient and easily accessible by car, taxi, pedicab, or bike. Uber is now alive and well in Charleston. Feel free to bring your own bikes or I can recommend some nearby bike rental companies.
  • We had a great stay at Anne Marie's place. She provided information on local restaurants and communicated clearly throughout the reservation process and during our stay. The apartment is quiet and cozy and has a great shower. We enjoyed the courtyard area since the weather was mild. We had a great stay.

    Edward & Meredith2014-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Anne Marie's suite was fantastic! Beautiful bedroom, sitting area and bathroom. We easily fit a packnplay in the suite for our 15 month old. Convenient location with some great restaurants close by. Anne Marie also made great recommendations for food and activities. Loved that we were so close to Hampton Park! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Charleston!

    Megan2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely, cozy space! Great area of town. Plenty of room for one or two people. Anne Marie is a wonderful hostess.

    Elisabeth2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I stayed in Anne Maire's space for our long weekend escape to Charleston. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and clean. This private space has a separate entrance from the main house and a charm unto itself. Also the bathroom was deluxe with high quality bones and finishing touches. The residential area was very quiet but still the downtown was very accessible by car or bike if you're the fit type. Anne Marie also left wine, coffee, creamer, water bottles, and little cookies which were a fabulous touch. Also, her Charleston literature was unmatched! Overall an enjoyable comfortable experience that I would repeat again and again!

    Claire2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Anne Marie's! The pictures were extremely accurate which is hard to do! It was so cute, clean, and comfortable. The space was great...she thought of everything! The bathroom was lovely and it was nice having a separate living space for the evenings. We felt safe which is important in new area and she provided everything we need. We also had complete privacy, and yet she made me feel like she was available if we ever needed anything. We were able to meet her and she was great! She provided information both ahead of time and in her space for great places to eat and see. She even lent us chairs to take to the beach! Her location is only about 15 minutes from the airport so it was easy to get to, and only about a 10 minute drive to all the main areas downtown. We were able to rent a car for only $15 a day and hop to and from downtown so easily. It really was the perfect weekend getaway thanks to her amazing space! If we ever come back to Charleston we will definitely stay here again.

    Julia2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • I never met Anne Marie during my stay but she sent a very detailed message ahead of my visit and left some well prepared letters with a bottle of red wine in the room. I originally thought the place was a whole house but I didn't read the description well enough. The residence is a home split into two, with a private entrance in the back and a split door that is locked between the front and back house. The place has everything that would need except a sink and control of the heater. It was remodeled beautifully with wood floors, a gigantic tile shower and slab counters. The bed is comfortable and just what I needed after a full day of walking. If you're a little weird about having the host live a wall away, she want noisy and there is a living room area that separates the bedroom for privacy. This was 15 minutes away from everything you want to see you downtown and in a safe neighborhood. A few blocks away the neighborhood gets a little weird but it was not a problem.

    Robert2016-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a perfect spot for me and my buddy traveling around the states! Anne took us last minute and couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Made sure we had tons of recommendations on where to eat and what to do in town. The unit itself was clean, modern, and very comfortable. Anne even left us a bottle of wine! Phenomenal stay--thanks so much!

    Max2015-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was great! She left a detailed list of activities close by and great places to eat. The room was fantastic and with 100 degree weather she even picked up a window unit to cool us off. We will choose this place again next time we are in Charleston. Thanks again!

Welcome to our new, modern loft space with full kitchen and bath! The private apartment is surrounded by an award-winning garden that has been featured on Charleston's Spring Garden Tours. We are located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several restaurants/bars, the Terrace Theater and the Charleston Pour House. It's a short, scenic drive to Folly beach and only ten minutes to downtown. Our backyard chickens often roam the garden and are great entertainment for kids.
A very peaceful and relaxing space both inside and out! Get away from the clutter and the TV.
Riverland Terrace is one of the best neighborhoods in Charleston. It has beautiful oaks, views of the water, a public boat landing, several great restaurants, the Charleston Municipal golf course. It's a lovely place to explore on foot or by bike. It's a quick drive to downtown Charleston (5 miles) and Folly Beach (9 miles).
  • We loved Dave and Beth's garden loft. The room itself, their yard and the neighborhood were all wonderful. Dave and Beth were both really nice and helpful before, during and after our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

    Tom2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was perfect in so many ways. Private, quiet, comfortable. The owner provided everything you could possibly need. Super accommodating when I lost track of time and had to check out late. Lovely neighborhood and great location. Highly recommend!

    Angela2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing stay! Beautifully minimalistic loft that basically had me and my wife wanting to live there -- it had everything you could want! Including some friendly chickens that enjoy hanging out around the yard. David was more than helpful in giving us tips on what to do and how to get around Charleston. We'll definitely be looking to stay again the next time we visit the area.

    Devin2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Dave and Beth's cozy backyard retreat exceeded all our expectations! We were traveling with two young children and had plenty of room (air mattress for the five year old and travel crib for the toddler). We truly felt like we were staying at a friend's house. Our daughter just wanted to hang out with Beth in their beautiful yard with the chickens. Their house is on a friendly but quiet street and is a short drive to either the beach or downtown. New, clean, and updated, we would recommend to all!

    Allyson2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place and lovely hosts. Quiet, beautiful neighborhood and clean relaxing space. No complaints at all. Would stay again!

    Gabriel2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • 3 how UNIQUE this place was. Safe neighborhood. Clean, modern & spacious with a fridge & stove! Can easily sleep more than 2. (I noticed there was a blow up mattress & extra blankets & pillows.) Dave let us pick our own eggs from his 5 friendly chickens. We got to ride the provided bikes around to the antique store, movie theater, and pizza place. Note that UBER POOL (ride share for cheaper) is NOT available in Charleston as it is in ATL. So expect rides to be $10-$15 min. into Charleston. About $25 bucks uber ride from the airport. Airport Shuttle is about $20 so better to just uber. All the while worth it for the price, security and privacy!

    Milla2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Nice place ,nice host's friendly.

    Lorraine2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I were blown away: as soon as we arrived we could see the love and care that went into every detail of the loft. It was a pleasure to stay there, and it was the perfect spot for our honeymoon because the loft itself was pristine (yet homey), the neighborhood is peaceful and lovely, and downtown Charleston is wonderfully accessible. I'm very thankful for the time we had there!

Un espacioso apartamento en una zona tranquila con una vista fantástica del puerto de Charleston. Es increíblemente sereno - como estar en el país en medio de Charleston. Muelle privado, kayaks, paseos en bote disponible, bicicletas, y un montón de
1 BR, full bath, living room, in garage apt with separate entrance. Right by Shem Creek and Patriot's Point, at the foot of the Cooper River Bridge. Incredibly convenient location: 4 miles to downtown Charleston, 5 miles to Sullivan's Island and beaches. The TV has broadcast channels, but no cable. WiFi in the apt. Dock, fabulous views from the back porch of Ft Sumter and the ships in the harbor . Refrigerator, coffeemaker, 2-burner hotplate (it's in a drawer in the kitchen), toaster oven, & microwave in the apartment. Breakfast not included, but there will be coffee you can make in the morning, and orange juice, and bagels or English muffins, and butter and jam. Hairdryer is in the bathroom. Iron, steamer, and ironing board are in the closet. I try to be there when guests arrive, so I can show off the place, but it works out ok if I'm away when they arrive and they let themselves in. •Lots of people walk up to the top of the Ravenel Bridge; the views are spectacular. It’s about 3/4 mile to the foot of the bridge. Bring a windbreaker, it’s usually windy up there. This place is so peaceful and quiet, it's like living in the country, but it is literally 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Charleston, and less than that to the beaches. So it's the best of both worlds! •The back porch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. Take your coffee out there in the mornings, or your wine in the evenings, and make yourselves at home. •Whole Foods is only a half mile away, and Trader Joe’s is just a little farther past it. And there is a huge Harris Teeter grocery store (it's open 24/7) across the street from Whole Foods. And about a million great restaurants in this town...
The best part about this place is the delightful and relaxing back deck, with comfortable chairs and a fantastic view of the giant container ships and the sailboats and shrimp boats and you can see Fort Sumter and Castle Pinckney and Fort Johnson (which is now a marine lab) and Crab Bank and Patriots Point and Shem Creek and oh, I could go on and on about the birds and the otters and the Diamond-backed Terrapins but thankfully no alligators in our creek!
  • My friend and I really enjoyed our stay. We were amazed at the number of things to do and the amount of places to explore. Kayaking through the harbor, biking to the magnificent bridge, touring the Yorktown, walking around the town of Charleston, and relaxing on the dock at night were just a few of the things we did during our brief stay. There is an infinite number of places to eat nearby. Susan was absent most of our stay, and arrived late during our second night but made an effort to talk with us and share a few stories. Wonderful place; highly recommended!

  • Susan was a gracious hostess who made us feel right at home as we shared a sunset and a beer on her deck. We enjoyed riding the bikes she provided to and from Charleston and walking the Ravenel bridge. We also biked into Mount Pleasant and walked to several good restaurants just beyond her peaceful neighborhood. The apartment was cozy and comfortable. We also enjoyed Susan's wonderful collection of books about Charleston history.

  • What a lovely apartment and host! It was our first trip to Charleston and the weather was cold, butt the warmth of Susan's hospitality more than made up for it! We were disappointed that schedule and weather prevented it's from talking advantage of the kayaks and bicycles. The apartment was so cozy that we skipped the usual post-dinner activities in favor of curling up in the apartment with her shelves full of gems. When the weather code to cooperate for a little while, Susan gave us a ride on the bay to see see the harbor by boat. The pictures are accurate, but don't do justice to the lovely views from her deck. This is a lovely neighborhood and a great spot to enjoy lowcountry. I hope to have a chance to return to further enjoy this great spot.

  • Susan was a wonderful host! The space we stayed in was clean and well prepared for a welcoming visit. Susan invited us into her home and made us feel as though they were honored by our stay. The trip to town was short, and their dock on the water was a perfect slice of insight into life in Charleston. It was a great experience all around, especially coming from the snowy mountains of our hometown. We would absolutely recommend staying here for any amount of time, we have no complaints.

    Austin2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying with Susan! First of all, Susan is extremely accommodating and welcoming. Susan was always on hand to provide beach towels, an iron, or local advice. She even offered to take us out on her boat (next time!). She invited us to spend time on her back porch which has an incredible view of marsh and water. The pictures don't do the view justice! The apartment was spacious, clean, and temperature controlled. Also, while not right in the downtown area, it was a quick cab ride away. We also biked into the downtown area on bikes Susan provided. The property is also right near Shem Creek which is where a lot of the shrimp boats are as well as several restaurants. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend it if you are staying in the Charleston area for a few days! Thank you, Susan!

  • My husband and I had a fantastic weekend in Charleston celebrating our anniversary. Susan's place is in a fantastic location between downtown and Sullivan's Island, and we loved her hospitality. The dock is a great place to sit and have it all to yourself. We went out for evening, breakfast, and sunset. We took our kayaks and put in right off of it! Thank you so much. Great trip.

  • Susan was great and very accommodating. The location was perfect for getting in and out of downtown Charleston quickly. The apartment itself was really cool and the property was gorgeous. No complaints and would definitely recommend others stay there!

  • Susan was a fantastic host and the apartment is lovely. The location is perfect for exploring Charleston and the surrounding area. Kayaking right off of Susan's dock was so lovely, as was the boat ride she took us on. We saw dolphins right behind the house! I highly recommend staying here. Thanks Susan!!

Private apartment (separate from main house) over workshop and artist studio. Located in quiet residential neighborhood on tree lined road within minutes of Folly Beach and historic downtown Charleston.
The Tree House is unattached from main house allowing you privacy and freedom to come and go as you please. It is furnished with some antiques and original art work by my wife, who is a professional artist.
The Tree House is conveniently located in a quiet residential neighborhood with tree lined streets. We are only ten minutes from downtown Charleston, Folly Beach and the Charleston County Park. Several of Charleston's plantations and gardens are within a half hours drive.
  • This was the perfect place to stay to enjoy a long weekend in Charleston! It's halfway between Folly Beach (where we went paddle boarding with the dolphins) and downtown (where we enjoyed amazing sea food). It's a quiet retreat and great home base to explore all that Charleston has to offer. We hope to be back again soon!

  • Harvey and his wife were wonderful hosts! Harvey was quick to respond and answered all of my questions! I would recommend renting a car, as it is a little bit of a drive into downtown charleston! It was, however, very close to Folley Beach, and it will be the perfect location in the summertime! The place was so cute! Overall a great experience!

Cozy, green, modern and tech equipped. Heat/AC, unlimited hot water, lux linens, and towels for your visit on Business, Vacation or Weddings. Please read entire listing details before booking.
True American classic, 1977 Airstream completely remodeled into a cozy, private retreat. Please read entire listing to insure this space meets your expectations. This should be considered a "Novelty Stay" and not compared to, a hotel, or house accomodations. As much as we love her, Alice is essentially an upgraded, quirky, glamor camping (glamping) experience--It is a stay for the adventurous, open minded traveler. Okay, with that out of the way—moving on… This space has gone through a major reno and "green" upgrade, including 2 standard twin beds with yummy handmade linen bedding and towels. Smart TV's with bluetooth, cable, WiFi, USB charging, sweet little stand up or sit down shower with on-demand hot water, complete rewiring, plumbing, (connected to sewer) heat reduction window film and energy star heat pump, A/C unit. This is a small space. It has been equipped with a single unit, duel heat pump A/C unit that goes off and on frequently. If you are a very light sleeper, this may be bothersome. The kitchenette has a full size sink, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker (K-cup) microwave. and creamer in the fridge. Small table can be used as computer work space or a quick sit down for a meal. In the cold winter months, the beds are outfitted with down comforters and there are extra blankets to keep things cozy if you need it. As this space is a renovated classic, it does not meet ADA compliance. Please be sure to read the details in the "Other Things to Note" section regarding the bath area-- (curtained only) and space limitations for ceiling height and toilet area. If you are looking for a casual, clean, updated and private space to relax during a visit to Charleston for a business trip wedding or just passing through, Alice is clean, inclusive, quaint, coastal and local. We proudly offer American made, Beekman 1802 personal care amenities and serve locally grown, Charleston Tea Plantation teas.
West Ashley (West of the Ashley River) is one of the original Charleston "suburbs." Our home is in an old school, diverse and friendly neighborhood of odd little homes and multi units built mostly from the late 1920's through the late 1950's where the grand oaks and moss drape together to make a lovely canopy over the streets and homes. At nearly anytime during the day or evening, you will see people go by on bikes, walking dogs and jogging. There are several local restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and shopping within a 2-mile radius. Just ask us! We will tell you all about our faves.
  • We absolutely loved our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable and definitely a fun experience. Nancy was an amazing host and her advice and recommendations completely made our trip. We can't wait to go back. If it's available, book it!!

    Adam2016-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the coolest places I've stayed. It was a 'bucket list' item of mine to stay in an airstream, and what a luxurious stay it was! I could tell Nancy loves to host and genuinely cares about her guests. Alice Airstream was very comfortable and spacious (my boyfriend is about 6'1'' and he had plenty of room). Nancy was attentive to our needs and gave us a lot of great suggestions of what to see in Charleston. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in town.

    Stacey2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a delightful stay! :) I LOVED!!! the Airstream. Nancy was wonderful with checking us in and giving us tips on the local events and great places to eat. Always looking for the "Local and indigenous" instead of the "Mason De la Casa House" and Nancy had wonderful suggestions. Will absolutely book this stay again :)

  • Staying in the airstream was awesome! The place is beautifully designed, well-organized, clean, comfortable, and very cozy. Nancy was friendly and helpful and we had a great time in Charleston!

    James2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Nancy was fantastic. When we arrived she spent time showing us how things worked in the airstream. She gave an interesting and fun explanation of designing and creating the space inside the stream. She has clearly thought about needs of guests and provides for them. She provides beautiful linens and environmentally friendly toiletries. She has a wealth of information about the area and can offer great suggestions for sightseeing and dining. In the morning Nancy offers coffee, fruit and delicious warm homemade breakfast pastries.

    Linda2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • I was so excited for my stay in Charleston with Alice and she and Nanc did not dissapoint! The neighborhood is cute and quiet, Alice is very cozy and comfortable. Everything was just as described. The curtain thing for the bathroom was a total non-issue. The linen sheets, towels, blankets, etc were very nice. So European. The lighting was good, good sized fridge, microwave, on demand hot water was wonderful. Hurricane Irma had happened just days before my visit to Charleston; Nanc called to let me know all was well/back to normal with Alice and to discuss how the hurricane might have changed my plans. The communication was good from my initial booking, months before to pulling out of the driveway my lastorming there. Nanc shared lots of ideas and information about the areas historical sites, as well as fun places to eat. She allowed me to use her pass to the McLeod Plantation. There was fresh homemade Banana bread for my breakfast! YUM! What a bonus! Parking was super easy, the location was good-easy access by car. The doggies were cute and quiet. If I were ever back in the area, I would hope to stay with Nanc and Alice.

  • Came to Charleston for a Mother's Day mom/daughter mini- vacation. The Airstream was perfect for our stay. Nancy is a 5 star AirBnB host! Restaurant recommendations, sites to see, driving tips, etc.-- my best AirBnB experience so far.

  • Nancy was such an amazing host! My daughter and I wanted to stay even longer, it was truly difficult to leave! Nancy was informative about the city, things to do, good/bad places to eat, etc. Plus she went above and beyond & our very first air bnb was a big hit! I've told everyone about this amazing quaint airstream we visited!

  • Had a great stay with Kaitlynn! About 25 minutes from downtown Charleston and centrally convenient to the locations we wanted to visit. Kaitlynn was very easy to communicate with, home was clean/organized (loved the modern décor), and had thoughtful snacks available. Dan and I did not spend a whole lot of time in the house, but we enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

  • if all you care about is a comfy bed to sleep then go for it. Both rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. the bathroom was decent except for the shower and the rug. If you plan on using the kitchen be aware that it may be dirty like I had the unpleasantness of finding out; the stove was dirty, there were dishes in the sink on our arrival, the fridge was dirty, and the trash was already more than half way full when we got there. if one allows the use of the kitchen and require clean up after then the kitchen should already be spotless before the arrival of any guest. We did have the use of the TV and access to netflix, She did provide eggs, milk, and fresh fruits which was nice. She does respond promptly to inquiries which was comforting. She also apologized for the mess in the kitchen and offered her help when we were checking out.

  • Very quite and clean, it was a pleasure to stay in!

    Alicia2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kaitlynn's place is like a home away from home! My daughter, a friend and I were attending a wedding in Ridgeville and decided to spend a long weekend in the Charleston area. This was right in the middle, so it was perfect! It's located in a quiet neighborhood about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston and also convenient to surrounding areas. Kaitlynn's home is clean and tidy, nicely renovated, simply decorated and very comfortable. All the amenities of home were right there, I can't think of one thing we lacked during our stay. Kaitlynn is a very special young lady! Friendly, easy to talk to and delightful to be around - like a long time friend you didn't know you had! We'll definitely book again if we're in the area before she's off on another adventure in a different town!

The house and neighborhood are very cute and homey, it was an easy drive to all attractions we were interested in. She was very gracious in letting us use her kitchen and shared spaces. • Sharing 1 room with 3 girls was a little tight but it is perfect if you plan on being out and about a lot.

  • Elisabeth is absolutely amazing and the house is just as amazing. I loved everything about this space. Thank you so much for hosting us.

  • Overall good experience though the host was not present at home.

  • Elizabeth was just a fantastic host. She offered great tips as to what to do and where to go. Even more when I was a solo traveler. The house is clean and the room (the bed is sooo confy!) and the bathroom immaculate. Thanks Elizabeth for being a great host!

  • Elizabeth’s place was nice. We had no in person interactions with the host. We were a little confused as to where to go once we were in the house but we found our room. Elizabeth sent us a check in guide after we arrived which was very informative and would have been useful when we arrived. It was a nice house and a good place to spend the night on our road trip.

    Mary2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Elisabeth very nice and my friend and I really love the huge TV in living room, we spend a movie night there. Nice house, clean and comfortable bedroom. ❤

  • This has been one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had with airbnb. I felt right at home from the moment I walked in and felt very well cared for throughout my whole stay. From the spacious clean room to the friendly company over dinner the stay was wonderful. Sanddollar went above and beyond what I would expect from an airbnb renter and when I return to Charleston I will be using them again.

The Sand Dollar hosts are lovely people and make your stay so pleasant! The location is exceptional and the room is better than described. Comfortable, very clean and quiet. I really enjoyed everything about my stay. You can choose to interact or have privacy. I will definitely stay here again.

  • Our experience with Sand Dollar was absolutely wonderful! They are very welcoming and kindhearted people. The Sand Dollars made sure we felt right at home and wanted for nothing. Everything was so nice, we couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely be going back to Charleston, and there is no doubt we will be staying with San Dollar again!

  • Wow! I couldn't have asked for a more warm spirited, welcoming family to host me during my time in the Charleston area. Their home is immaculate with a beautiful view and you will feel well taken care of throughout your stay. The Sand Dollars are accommodating in every way possible and I would have been happy in their home permanently. I will miss our inspiring conversations and have learned so much about their culture, something a book could have never taught me. Take advantage of the the opportunity to stay in this family's home and you will be grateful you did.

My house is recently remodeled. It is a very comfortable home on a quiet street two blocks from public transportation. I do allow pets, although there are no pets on the property. My listing is 20 minutes to historic Charleston, short amazing drive!
Completely equiped kitchen. Laundry room. Big screen TV. Loads of DVD s with player.fenced yard. Deck and screen porch.
  • The place was very good in my view. The only problem was the dust and old quilts. Overall the experience was very good and the value was great!

  • John's sweet bungalow was comfortable and cool. Although we were en route to Wilmington, we stayed a day in Charleston and enjoyed visiting Fort Sumter. We came in late and John was kind in his offer to offer us a late check out.

    Nancy2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • John's bungalow was fantastic. Air conditioning is available in every room as well as a nice ceiling fan in the living room to keep you cool throughout the stay. Very nice DVD collection to keep you entertained! His kitchen was also well stocked so that we could cook some meals at home.

  • Just what we hope for!!! John's home is comfortable, convenient to interstate (next exit down takes you to Isle of Palms by-pass), airport and downtown. It's east to find and on a quiet street. Beds sleep great and our favorite part is the back yard deck, porch area. John was extremely easy to work with. We will be back!!!! Sonja Knoxville, TN

  • John was very accommodating, getting us in at the last minute for a one night stay. It's about 15 minutes from the Charleston airport, very convenient. A nice big TV, gleaming hard wood floors in a cozy home.

    Jeanne2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at John's bungalow. It was exactly as portrayed in the description. It's located in an older neighborhood, but we felt totally safe there. We enjoyed getting out and walking around the neighborhood, and the neighbors that were out were all friendly. We even had an ice cream truck come around, which my daughter always loves. The location was very easy to find, and very convenient--less than 2 hours from our home in Greenville, SC, and only around 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. There are lots of businesses nearby. We found a delicious Mexican restaurant just a few minutes away. The home is not fancy, but very comfortable and welcoming. The beds were super comfortable--we all slept very well. The "check-in" process and departure were extremely simple. John didn't require that we arrive or leave by any particular time. When I talked with John on the phone, he was very personable. In the home, he left a number of sticky notes to explain anything that we might have questions about or were not quite sure how to operate, and offered to let me call if I had any further questions. There were also many notes on the fridge and on a bulletin board that were left by prior guests, and everyone apparently enjoys their stay there! When I was checking into accommodations, I was surprised to find that John's bungalow was even less expensive than staying at the Motel 6! And the atmosphere is much nicer! We would definitely stay there again, and highly recommend John's bungalow to anyone visiting the cool city of Charleston. :)

  • WONDERFUL!! Everything was perfect. The house was clean and cozy, and so adorable!! And the price?? Amazing. I can not say enough about how grateful we are to have had such a wonderful and ridiculously affordable option available to us for this trip. John was a life-saver, and we truly appreciate him, his house, and everything that he puts into helping accommodate visitors on their stay. Everything was perfect, including his beautiful art that was sprinkled around the house. Thanks again!!! Love, Amelia and family.

  • This was a nice little place, easy to find, close to the necessity shopping and quiet. Not only did our host leave treats for us in the frig but labeled things nicely so there was no guess work. It was relaxing and just felt like home.
