Balmaha Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Balmaha

Great getaway cabin on the Banks of Loch Lomond, fantastic views of the loch and surrounding mountains. A great base for enjoying the many water sports available on the loch, hill walking or simply a relaxing break. Continental breakfast included.
The cabin is self contained with an en suite shower room, TV and free WiFi. A substantial continental breakfast is provided within the cabin. There is a covered balcony area and garden. Our biggest asset without doubt is the unrestricted stunning views of Loch Lomond and surrounding mountains. We are in the village and within a five minute walk of all local amenities. If you are attending a wedding in the village we are located 50 metres from the church and a five minute walk to both local hotels.
Luss is an extremely picturesque village in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National (URL HIDDEN) is in a conservation area with many ancient buildings, the local church being of particular interest with hump back Viking grave stones. You can also enjoy many beautiful walks in the surrounding area.
  • This is an incredible place to stay on Loch Lomond! We absolutely loved our 2 night stay and didn't want to leave :) The cabin is so clean and cosy - it felt like a home away from home! Very safe, a great selection of snacks/breakfast, close to all the shops/bars/tea rooms in Luss, cruises along the Loch, great walking routes... the list goes on! This was our first Airbnb stay and I can't imagine another topping it! Still dreaming about that view! It's a very special place. Thank you, Alyson!

  • We had a relaxing 2 night stay in this stunning location. Very clean and comfortable. A great variety of breakfast and snacks. Look forward to visting again in the future. Alyson and Ian were great hosts and available to answer any of our queries about local amentities.

  • A truly wonderful experience enhanced by such a warm, welcoming Alyson & family. The cabin was very cosy - the generous offerings of food were beautifully presented & as for the location - well - pardise is all I can say! Lucky the folk who book this fantastic find!

  • We had a brilliant stay at the Cabin In Luss. The cabin had everything we needed (a travel cot was provided), and the views over Loch Lomond are amazing - it's literally at the bottom of the garden! Alyson & Ian were great hosts. We weren't expecting how well stocked the fridge was for breakfast! Thank you very much for a great stay, we'll be back!

    Steve2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time at Alyson's cabin. The view is absolutely stunning. The cabin is lovely and cozy. Very clean, exactly as described and has a fab shower! Alyson was a great host. Communication was brilliant and she even got her husband to move his car so we could park right outside. The breakfast was absolutely brilliant and very thoughtful. Luss itself is lovely and ridiculously pretty. We enjoyed strolling around and looking in the lovely shops. The pub and local restaurant are within walking distance and really good. We would highly recommend a stay at Alyson's cabin. We found it so relaxing that I want one in the bottom of my garden!

    Gemma2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Alyson's cabin was absolutely perfect. The views are insane and the cabin feels tucked away while you are actually in the middle of the model village. She provides a huge breakfast and fresh coffee with a kettle and French press, so our mornings looking out on the loch were idyllic. Alyson was right next door and very kind about being there for us if we needed anything. 10/10, would love to come back! Thank you so much for such a beautiful weekend!

    Katelyn2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Alyson's cozy cottage was an absolutely incredible place to stay during our one night in Luss/Loch Lommond. Even though we never met her in person, communication was great, and check-in/out was a breeze. The view was spectacular! My wife and I sat on the patio drinking good beer and enjoying the beautiful surroundings, and that alone was one of our best experiences during our two weeks in Scotland, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland. Breakfast is worth a mention by itself. The spread was (URL HIDDEN) would have been enough food for both dinner and breakfast if we were on a tight budget. As it was, we stuffed ourselves in the morning on meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt, granola, bread, jam, and coffee. I would highly recommend Alyson's place if you find yourself looking for a gorgeous and satisfying stay on the west side of Loch Lommond.

  • Such a lovely place ! We were stunned by how beautiful or is. We were quite lucky because it was a beautiful day, so we could really enjoyed the view. The place is clean, and there are a lot of choice for the breakfast (plus fresh fruits). Really GREAT! we would have loved to stay longer.

  • Well what can we say ! Sijad owns a fabulous home located near Loch Lomond. The scenery is quite simply breathtaking. The accommodation is both spacious and yet cosy at the same time. It has a very modern feel and I felt was much nicer than most hotels that I have previously stayed in. Sijjad was extremely professional in his hosting/manner. Also his local knowledge was very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and he provided us with a lovely bottle of red which my boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed. We absolutely loved the place and will definitely return soon. Looking forward to another bottle - many thanks karen & john

  • Our stay was absolutely amazing, Sajjad was very welcoming and kindly ordered us Chinese after our long journey from London. If you're impressed by the photo's you'll be blown away on arrival. Every room is perfectly furnished with breath-taking views of the mountains. I would 100% recommend staying at Loch Lomond Mansion, your family/friends will have a peaceful and exciting stay. FYI - The sauna, steam room and pool was PERFECT (Perfect for girly nights in) Thanks again Sajjad, cant wait to come back to preview your Cinema Room :-)

Welcome - Willkommen - Bienvenue Private lockable room in my flat in the centre of the village. Zip'n'Link beds - can be 2 singles or a double. Basic but comfortable. Ideal for walkers - 1 step up from camping. Room only, shared bathroom, shared with cats also (litter trays). Please read detailed description under "The Space" and "Guest Access" for full description to avoid disappointment!
PLEASE READ DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS IN THE "DIRECTIONS" SECTION ON HOW TO FIND MY FLAT AND HOW TO CONTACT ME WITHIN WORKING HOURS Located in the centre of Drymen, this is an ideal stopping point for people walking the West Highland Way or Rob Roy Way. It is also an ideal base for people wanting to explore the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. There are 3 pubs opposite the flat, and at the weekend it can sometimes be a little noisy at closing time when all come out of the pubs. But it doesn't usually go on for long and doesn't happen every weekend, and ear plugs are supplied for your use (on top of the bedside table). During the week there is also traffic noise when people start driving to work, and when the delivery arrives at the shop below me. I don't hear it, and most people who have stayed with me so far have not heard it, but if you are a light sleeper please do use the ear plugs provided. The room is basic but comfortable, and it is lockable. The bathroom is shared with myself, my lodger and my cats (litter trays). I have rescue cats and a rescue dog, so it is not suitable for people with pet allergies or pet dislikes. I don't include breakfast as I work full time and also do voluntary work for the charity Animals Asia. I simply don't have time to prepare breakfast for guests. But ingredients for a vegan continental breakfast can be provided at a small extra cost. Tea & coffee making facilities are in the room, with vegan milk. There is a cafe 1 minute walk away that provides cooked breakfast, as well as a hotel and an Inn both opposite the flat, that provide breakfast to non-residents. Please remember this is not a hotel or B&B, it's a room in my home. I do keep it reasonably clean but it won't be up to hotel or B&B standards.
Drymen is in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, on the West Highland Way and the Rob Roy Way. My flat is in the village centre, above a little Spar supermarket that's open from 6.30am-10pm each day. The oldest pub in Scotland is just opposite, and other pubs and eating places between 0-1 minute walk away. There is also a bike hire shop opposite. There is a post office, shops, hair dresser, chemist, dentist and doctor all within a couple of minutes walk or less.
  • Basic, but absolutely sufficient. A bit noisy early in the morning because the house is located at the main junction of the village. Silke, the host, is very friendly and helpful. Ideal location to discover the eastern shore of Loch Lomond.

  • Karen and James are welcoming, lovely hosts, on hand for handy tips, suggestions and general knowledge of the area. The cottage is beautiful and cosy. New, very clean, well appointed and well equipped. The views are tremendous and the location is ideal - close to the hills and lochs but also close enough to amenities, Stirling and Glasgow. My family and I highly recommend.

  • Fantastic cottage, beautifully decorated, and beautiful views of the loch and mountains. Karen and her husband were very welcoming and took the time to show us around the house. The kitchen was big and open, well stocked with lots of little personal touches. The welcome basket was lovely. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Such a fantastic place, with friendly hosts! The pictures really don't do this place justice - the house was immaculate and had everything we could possibly need. Really pleasant setting, and loved having the views and animals to share the experience with!

  • Great place to stay. Only 30 min from Airport, but secluded and quiet. Highly recommend this stay!

  • What a fab place in a picturesque location. Karen and James were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. We came as a family with our two girls (7&4) and couldn't have had a better time. The location is near to the loch (a short drive) and has amazing view of the loch, mountains and rolling countryside. There is some great puns and restaurants in the area. Inside has been done out to such a fantastic standard with lovely touches everywhere. The girls loved having their own living room area in the bedroom. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. Brilliant!

    jonathan2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Dun Ruadh. The welcome was as warm as could be and James and Karen were there throughout with suggestions and little touches to make a great time. There's so much to do nearby and a little further afield. We climbed a hill or two, explored loch country and ventured further afield to the Isle of Mull to spot eagles and Puck's Glen for a stunning gorge walk. The cottage is stunning, beautifully fitted out and a short drive from so many scenic locations. In short, I can't recommend enough.

  • Nice, clean private apartment. Fiona was nice, seen us coming and gave us the key, showed us around and gave us some recommendation to local restaurants. Comfi beds and nice gesture with water, orange juice and simple breakfast in the fridge. Location is great base to explore Loch Lomond.

  • Fantastic host, a very nice place to stay. I was very happy & highly recommend anyone to stay.

  • I stayed 1 night at Fiona's luxury suite and throughly enjoyed it. On arrival Fiona greeted me, took me to the suite and showed me the facilities. The accommodation was well set out with good quality fixtures and fittings. The rooms are attached to, but separate from, the main house so privacy is assured. I have no hesitation in recommending Fiona's place if you're intending on traveling to the area.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Fiona's. Everything is brand new and done-up to a high spec. It's a great location for getting around Loch Lomond, and Drymen is a cute village which has some nice pubs and all the necessities. We would come again!

We have 3 lovely double bedrooms available within our family home. Two of which are en suite, and the third has private use of shower room in hallway. Guests also have private use of a beautiful lounge area for relaxing or watching television. Children are very welcome and a travel cot is also available. Loch Lomond is 5 minutes drive away, Buchanan Castle Golf club is 200 metres away and Drymen village is a 20 minute walk/3 minute drive away. Breakfast is provided in the family kitchen.
Gorgeous family home with very large garden.
Buchanan Castle is a very quiet and safe environment to live in. Lovely walks on the doorstep, as are the ruins of Buchanan Castle, and the golf club. There are no pavements or street lighting in the area, however the roads are quiet and lots of other properties. The West Highland Way is nearby for keen walkers and Balmaha and Loch Lomond only minutes away by car. The local village, Drymen, is a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute drive from the house where there are pubs and village shops.
  • Three lovely prepared bedrooms with a really nice lounge. The Breakfast was great and a perfect start in the day. The house is well located to have a relaxing time in a wonderful place. Sheri is extremely helpful and gave us nice recommendations.

Her home is amazing all rooms are lovely and you have a living room to relax in after a long day . Enjoyed my breakfast just what is needed to start the day . 5* place to stay highly recommended .

  • An amazing house in an lovely place hosted by a great couple. Sheri was very helpful, guided us correctly to her house even though we where bit late than promised time. House looks very beautiful with amble space. Fine breakfast. Had a great time, very homely. Full marks :) :)

    Rahul2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sheri's place is lovely! She is a delightful host and the house was comfy and clean. We loved the walk into the village-- it leads you past castle ruins, pastures, and beautiful mossy trees. We saw three deer in the field on our way home from the Clachan Inn pub -- an excellent spot for dinner or a drink. We had also had a delicious dinner at the Drymen Inn and a great lunch at The Oak Tree in Balmaha after our hike around Inchcailloch (an island in Loch Lomond). Sheri recommended all these activities and even assisted with reservations! We felt lucky to have such a great introduction to the Loch Lomond region. One note for future guests: Make sure you print or have your directions to the house accessible. We got a bit lost at first, but it was entirely our own fault. <3

Spare room in my flat. Very basic but fine for over night. Previous lodgers painted and left carpet with paint drops on it which I can't get out, but covered with rugs. 2 single beds. Bathroom shared with me, other guests and cats (litter trays). The "potential for noise" on list means pub noise and deliveries to shop below. Earplugs are provided.
This room is usually occupied by long term lodgers, but when I don't have a lodger I rent it out via Airbnb. I have another room listed on Airbnb, which is a permanent listing. This room was left in a bad state by previous lodgers, with paint drops on the carpet etc. I have scrubbed the carpet but can't get the paint off, and there is also an iron shaped hole in the carpet. This is all covered up with rugs so looks not too bad at all. The flat is shared with 2 rescue cats and a rescue dog, so the accommodation is not suitable for people with pet allergies or dislikes. There are 3 pubs next to my flat and it can get a little noisy at weekends when all come out of the pubs.
Drymen is in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, on the West Highland Way and the Rob Roy Way. • Lovely place and even better host! Silke has been more than honest about what people may or may not like about her home. In doing so, she may actually have done herself a disservice as I found it spot on. However, it leaves no room for complaints as what is described is definitely no less than what you get! Loved it.

    Danni2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, one of perfect examples why you should go with Airbnb and not the hotel. Great dog and 2 nice cats to complete the picture.

The apartment was very clean and perfect for out two night stay with our two little boys. The location was a short drive to the main visitor centres for Loch Lomond and Drymen itself is a nice village. We'd recommend laso doing the short trip to Aberfoyle Lodge Visitor centre for the waterfall walk and also Loch Katerine - amazing. We'll be returning!

  • Very nice accomodation. Great place for short activities. We were satisfied a lot.

    robert2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage/flat. We stayed because of the location to a local hike we were doing. The flat has everything you need and is very spacious. The owners are just lovely and very friendly. If we ever need to stay in the area again we will be back. Added bonus its minutes to the pubs/restaurants

    Claire 2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Elena (through her messages) and her husband (who gave us the keys and welcomed us) were really friendly and accommodating. The place is a little semidetached house on the side of their own house. It is well equipped and the upstairs rooms and the bathroom are big and very bright, as well as quiet. Last but not least: Elena had left a bottle of wine for us!

Our lovely and cosy lodge is located in one of the most beautiful locations in Loch Lomond. Amazing views and scenic walks. Only 45 minutes from Glasgow city center and 35 minutes from Glasgow International Airport. Wifi connection available!!
I believe what makes our space so special is the view and the location, right on the banks of Loch Lomond. And if you're looking for the perfect place to eat we are right across from the famous Oak Tree Inn which has very friendly staff and amazing food. Not to mention the beautiful walks and hikes. We are located right at the bottom of Conic Hill (my favorite walk) and a 5 to 10 minute drive from Ben Lomond. If you're looking for a place to relax or for a place to explore then Balmaha is the ideal location. It's quiet and tranquil setting gives you that away from it all feeling. We do accommodate couples with children! We are currently building other lodges adjacent to the existing lodge. We ovoid doing works when we have guests as we want them to enjoy the tranquility and peace that this place offers.
Balmaha is a small village with lovely people. We've been living here for the past five years and we absolutely adore the small village feeling but also the fact that we are only 35 minutes from Glasgow city center.
  • One of the best places we've stayed in the UK: perfect location, beautiful view from our balcony, friendly and welcoming hosts, great pub close by, close to the ferry and wonderfully comfortable cabin to relax in! What more do you need?

    Rebekah2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant!!!!! Fernanda and Wayne are excellent hosts, welcoming and friendly, and they made our stay really, truly special!!! We followed their recommendations and walked up to Conic Hill, took the boat to Inchcailloch and the waterbus to Luss. Fantastic views and outstanding beauty all around us! We also went to Stirling and visited the Stirling Castle. So, plenty of things to do and a beautiful place to relax. The lodge was perfect and spotless. Yes, you don't have TV signal, but we didn´t need it at all. A variety of films to relax on the sofa and the stunning views from the balcony. They are building more lodges around it, but Wayne and Fernanda made sure we were no disturbed by the works and they even stopped for a few days for us to enjoy the peace and quiet!

    Nuria2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fernanda and Wayne were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Their place is beautiful; right on the loch with amazing views. The local pub which does great food is just across the road too, as is the boat hire. We'll definitely be going back.

    Daryl2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • There should be an image of Fernanda and Wain next to the word "hospitable" in the dictionary. They were so nice and caring, it made our trip. The house was in such a good taste and full of every equipment we could think of. We just loved being in Balmaha, also it is worth mentioning that the bed mattress was the most comfortable we slept in. You will be missing out Scotland if you don't visit them.

    Katya2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is in a fantastic location, right near Oak Tree Inn for food and drinks, and a trailhead to walk to Conic Hill. Fernanda and her husband were very friendly, and even provided a welcome bottle of wine. We liked the private and gated parking spot, and checkin was very easy. I recommend a stay here. Thanks!

    Kevin2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time staying at Balmaha. Fernanda was extremely nice and helpful and helped to make my boyfriend's birthday weekend extra special. The lodge is new and looks fantastic, with great views of Loch Lomond. All utensils are provided and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also ate out at the Oak Tree Inn just across the road 4 times in 2 days and the food was excellent, with a great atmosphere. Balmaha is a great location with many great walks and we can't wait to go back.

    Sparsh2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great location! In the heart of Scotland with a good pub opposite, ideal for the evening after sampling beautiful Scotland.

  • The house and area were great for a relaxing break to Loch Lomond. There aren't lots of nice walks and trips to go on near to the accommodation. I would highly recommend staying here if you're planning to go to Loch Lomond.

  • It was really nice to stay at 'Kip in the Kirk'. Our room was very big, clean and modern decorated. The kitchen gives much space to cook, have a nice breakfast and chat with Frances, who is a very friendly and helpful host. This recommended accommodation and the beautiful area made the stay perfect!

  • We stayed at Kip in the Kirk for one night and it was very peaceful and relaxing. The building itself is very interesting and our room was clean and modern, as was the bathroom. The village had a small selection of places for dinner and drinks in the evening. Although we didn't see much of her Frances was a super helpful and friendly host and the homemade scones were delicious!

  • A great place to stay for a couple of days! The bedroom is tidy and cosy, and there is a large living room that may be shared with up to 2 other guests. After our walk, we relaxed on the very comfortable couches and watched one of my favorite movies on DVD, which was available for use. We loved the typical Scottish breakfast and appreciated how our preferences were addressed. Thorsten and Barbara make you feel very welcome and are happy to advice on any walking plans or weather conditions. Also, there is a nice pub on walking distance which serves some delicious and fresh fish (among other dishes).

Robbie was a lovely host, always happy to help and the short 10 minute walk into Drymen was picturesque and easy. The delicious continental-style breakfast was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended.

It was a very private area yet Kirsty was on hand and attentive if needed. Such a lovely location too - we only wish our stay had been longer!

Robbie and his mother were very welcoming and helpful in telling us how to get into Drymen (we even got a lovely hand-drawn map) and answering any questions we had. • Robbie was a wonderful host; he communicated well prior to our arrival and gave detailed instructions on finding the home. The room and bathroom were private and clean and accurate to the listing. It was lovely having a small balcony to look over the beautiful fields. It was also within walking distance to town. Since we were on our honeymoon, they provided a small bottle of champagne with breakfast and a card which was so very thoughtful of them. We would definitely stay again as well as recommend to others!

  • Fernanda and her husband are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely weekend canoeing around the islands on Loch Lomond, as well as a hike up Conic Hill. Couldn't have had better weather! The chalet has all you need, the bed is comfortable, the place heats up quickly and holds the warmth, and the broadband is fast. Marvellous shower. Lovely views to boats on the water just minutes away. HIghly recommend.

  • Fernanda's place was wonderful! It was exactly what we were looking for to bring in the New Year. It was cosy and quiet and surrounded by beautiful walks around the Loch. The local pub/restaurant has really good food and drink and there was a local shop which had everything you could need. Fernanda really kindly put prosecco in the fridge for our arrival and even left us some chocolate cake which was delicious!! We also had use of the hot tub which was perfect! An all in all wonderful long weekend and I will definitely be going back, thank you Nanda! Xxx

    Lucy2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Booked this for my girlfriends birthday based on previous reviews, pictures and location. The place did not disappoint. The highlight being the warm welcome from Fernanda and her family. Use of their hot tub was not a problem and when I mentioned it was my girlfriends birthday Fernanda rushed inside and grabbed us a bottle of prosecco. I don't think the pics do the view justice. Everything we wanted to do was a walkable distance. E.g. Walk up Conic Hill and access to the water taxis, pub. The place was very clean and modern and had everything you need. I think one of the highest compliments you can pay a place is if you'd go again. We most certainly would.

    Ross2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Accommodation was new and clean. Host's communication was excellent.

    Cameron2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a weekend in Fernanda's lodge in Balmaha. She was kindly able to accommodate us with a very last minute booking! The area was fantastic, we were situated right beside Conic Hill and a short walk from the lochside. There were many trekking routes nearby including the West Highland Way. The accommodation itself was lovely - the lodge had just been newly built and contained a modest sized kitchen/living/dining room, double bedroom and bathroom. All amenities including high speed wifi were as described. Fernanda and Wane were great hosts - very generous and always on hand if we needed anything. They even allowed us to make use of their hot tub. We had a terrific weekend and only wished we could have stayed for longer! Will happily come back to visit again.

Check-in was easy with the lockbox and the host, Stuart, was good about promptly responding to communication. Very good place for either a couple or a couple with two children. Thanks Stuart!

  • Great modern appartement. Located near Loch Lomond, so a very good location for visiting the National Park. The appartement had a great bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen. We did not meet Stuart, but he replied quickly to all our questions.

  • We stayed at Stuart's place while visiting Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. This is a beautiful and well maintained property conveniently located for both Balloch (about 8 miles) and Balmaha (about 4 miles). The house had all modern amenities in good working order. Stuart showed us round the house and was available close by for any help. We stayed there for four nights and had a lovely time cycling in Balloch and walking a section of the West Highland Way. Drymen is a quiet village but has a variety of pubs and restaurants. On our last night in Drymen we went out for a meal at the Clachan Inn which has good food and ambience. We will stay at this place again when visiting the Trossachs area.

  • This property is exactly as advertised: totally renovated and 'brand spanking new'. The owners did a great job of renovating: tasteful, practical, and convenient. Everything one would want for either a short or long stay. The place was spotlessly clean and very appealing. There was a dedicated off street parking space, and several nice restaurants and pubs were within easy walking distance. Two good sizes bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom. Great kitchen and, most wonderfully for travellers on long trips, a modern washer and dryer. An excellent place to stay and enjoy all that the Loch Lomond region has to offer.

  • Olivia was really nice to let us drop our bags early before check-in time. Upon checking in, she was really sweet and showed us all her pets as we asked. She even gave us fresh eggs from the chickens. The apartment was comfortable and the portable heaters kept us warm. The bedroom had windows on top, unfortunately it rained while we were there and we didnt get to gaze at stars from the bed. thank you again, Olivia. We had a good time.

  • Olivia was a great host. Nice family relaxed atmosphere. There on hand for a natter and privacy was respected. Travelling with twin girls the annexe was more than accommodating. A giant comfortable bed suited the three of us. Spacious and airy. Living area comfortable with basic kitchen needs provided for. All in all a top retreat I will return to for sure. So much in the area to see and do. Thanks olivia for a great 5 day break.

  • Olivia was on hand to welcome us to her cottage near Loch Lomond. Lovely accommodation and facilities and so spacious. Not too far from Balloch and the shops (Lomond Fish Bar does the best fish and chips). Loch Lomond is well worth exploring and we will definitely be back for another visit.

  • Had a lovely stay at Olivia's place She was there to meet and greet on arrival with a quick tour around the apartment which was clean and fresh. She recommended two walks as my friend nd I had never been to the area before which was really helpful. Great host and fantastic location!

  • We spent a great couple of nights at Olivia 's place. The accomodation is spacious and very clean and a good base for exploring the beautiful part of the world. We had our car and found it very easy to visit Lake Katrine and the Trossachs. The flat was quite cold however so I would advise bringing plenty of warm clothes! There isn't much about in terms of pubs/restaurants within walking distance. We drove to Balloch though and found plenty of options there! Thanks for a great stay.

  • We had a beautiful stay. Olivia picked us up at Balloch train station, to make sure we would feel welcomed. After that she left for the whole week-end. We enjoyed the spacious and rustic apartment, bright and quiet. It was easily reachable with public transports from Glasgow, and we could also easily access to nice walks or towns with a good bus service. The didn't feel very comfy, but apart from that, being in this lovely blue house by ourselves really made our week end special and relaxing. We do hope to come back!

  • Olivia was warm and welcoming, and Coco the dog is extremely adorable and well behaved. The place is spacious, comfy and has the main amenities you need. Cute and no fuss. Amazing bed with an even better view upstairs. Easy to find and well situated to explore the Loch and surrounding villages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would definitely come back!

  • Beautiful cottage and location!

    laurel2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Carolyn's cottage. The space was exactly what we needed in such a scenic location. Carolyn communicated with us prior to our arrival to ensure everything would go smoothly and even left us prosecco and homemade tablet (a particularly nice treat, as the day we arrived was my birthday)! The cottage was clean and comfortable. The wood stove made it very cozy and we loved hearing the horses next door. Would love to stay again if we ever get back to the Scotland!

  • Excellent place, was clean tidy and super cosy, I recomend.

  • Lovely place near Loch Lomond, great for getting out and about, great location on the West Highland Way. Carolyn was a good host and the cottage was comfortable and had all we needed.

    Rajiv2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay for access to Stirling and The Trossachs. The wood burning stove was a bonus too.

    Rosie2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn was such an amazing host, she was attentive to our needs and the cottage was fully prepared for our arrival (including a few treats). Everything was spotless and full of character. The location is stunning and a walkers paradise! Highly recommended.

Located in Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park this converted school is alongside the new Loch Lomond RSPB Reserve. It is in a rural location overlooking beautiful countryside down to loch. A great base from which to explore the area.
Established Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is an area of outstanding beauty. There are lots of outdoor activities to enjoy including walking, cycling and boating. The house is also only half an hour away from either Glasgow or Stirling.
  • Hilary was the most gracious host and went above and beyond for an American girl making her 1st trip to Scotland. Without asking she showed up at the bus station to pick me up and proceeded to give me a scenic tour of Balloch and the surrounding area. She drove me to Balmaha when I missed the bus and basically planned my 2 days in Loch Lomond to maximize my experience. Her B&B is a sweet country house with a beautiful large backyard, great for outdoor dining when the weather suits. Her property was very clean at all times, with a large living room and country-inspired dining table. My room was lovely, with a brand new bathroom with large standing stall and a towel warmer that actually works (a rarity in my travels thus far). My bedroom window also looked out into the backyard which was another sweet touch, allowing me to enjoy a country sunset every evening. As for the other "B"- Breakfast was superb and all that you hope for in a Scottish breakfast. I recommend having a car to stay in this area, but I got around just fine taking the 309 bus that stops right in front of The Old School House.

    Kamila2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful welcome from Hilary, delicious breakfast, gorgeous bathroom in the cosy single near the dining room, and the bed was very comfortable! The road in front of the house can be quite busy on rush hours but on the garden side everything is quiet and green.

    FREDERIC2015-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Loved my stay with hilary. Such a warm and welcoming place to stay. The area is beautiful and she has a wealth of knowledge about local places to eat and see. Breakfast was huge and yum and feather pillows made the bed super comfy. Highly recommended.

    Luke 2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Old School House B&B is quiet and clean, close enough to the hikes and scenery that Loch Lomond affords you, but secluded enough to get you away from any crowds. Hilary is a wonderful host; communicative, warm and inviting. I had a disaster of a journey getting to her place, but once I was there, I was completely taken care of. Her full breakfast in the morning is delicious. I highly recommend a stay here!

    Tiffany2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, clean and cozy

    Anton-Jan2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hilary is a very lovely and helpful host. We had a great night at her B&B. The room was very clean and the beds comfy. She gave us lots of information about the old school house, the area and living in Schottland... Moreover she helps us getting from Drymen to her place, with our luggage and so on. Thx for the great time!

    Katrin2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hilary was very helpful with everything including giving great tips for sightseeing and activities! The room is small but has everything you need and the location is just a short drive from Balmaha where there's hiking and rowing in beautiful surroundings. Much enjoyed!

    Stephan2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • One of the nicest, cleanest and most welcoming b&b's I have ever stayed in and would 10/10 recommend and stay again. The value is unreal as the room I stayed in was so clean, ecstatically pleasing and well equipped and I couldn't have asked for more. Hillary is the perfect host and I felt like she genuinely cared about me and was interested in me and my stories at the same time as she was respectful of my privacy. Thank you!

Brand new beautiful one bedroom apartment (hospitality tray), walk in shower and a cosy little corner to relax. Communal barbecue facilities! And shared hot tub (first come first serve). Walking distance (100 meters) to local beaches, Conic Hill, marina, the famous Oak Tree Inn, local shop and coffee shop. A great little place to relax and explore the surroundings.
Great one bedroom with walk in shower and cosy little corner to relax.
We are very well located!! Walking distance to Conic Hill, local shop and coffee shop, the famous Oak Tree Inn, local beaches. For the more adventurous we are 7 miles from Ben Lomond!
  • Unfortunately did not live up to the expectations. The room is advertised as a whole house but it should be advertised as a room. There is less than a hotel room. The whole house is in fact split in three separate rooms. That has a negative effect on the comfort, it is cramped (especially the bathroom). There is no closet or place to put your clothes. It is noisy because of the thin walls (especially the use of the bathroom of other rooms). And the wifi was not working most of the time because to many people are on at the same time (no connection to router). The hosts are friendly nevertheless and gave us a warm welcome. Hot tub was not working when we were there (but we were offered to use theirs if we would have liked). No BBQ at the house at arrival and promised to get one for the next day but never came. Complaint about wifi unfortunately not taken serious.

  • Thanks again Fernanda we had a lovely 2 day stay in No 8 lodge. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hot tub was a bonus (even in the rain). Fernanda and her husband were so welcoming and helpful. They provided great advise where to go and where to eat. Would highly recommend :-). Excellent location. Would definitely be returning in the future.

    Rhona2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fernanda went out of her way to make our stay perfect! Communications were spot on prior to booking, with quick replies as well. I had a specific request which Fernanda ensured was met with her own personal touches too! Venue and location were perfect and the lodge was spotlessly clean inside and out. The hot tub was hot and a welcome option after a long day. Cannot fault the hospitality, or the venue...highly recommended and we will be back soon!

  • #room8 Great lodge, had everything we needed for a last minute weekend away! Bed was so comfy, shower was huge as well as the bathroom. We loved the jacuzzi! Shame we didn't have a kitchen, as the room was all we needed. There are so many places near by for lovely food. Fernanda and her husband where always there if we had any questions. The room also has sky so had a great selection of programmes. Thanks again.

If you are walking the West Highland Way or you just stay for a couple of days to explore the beautiful shores of Loch Lomond you will find a welcoming place with great food, Scottish whisky and great views from the Conic Hill behind our B&B.
We can accomodate 5 guests in two comfortable furnished rooms. We offer a double room and a room with a bunk bed, (double bed on the bottom + single bed on top). Both have En Suite shower rooms. This listing is for the double room, for our bunk-bed room please use the other listing.
For the evening out we recommand the local pub which offers great food and drinks, a village shop and coffee shop with its fantastic homemade icecream and cakes. You can book in for a cruise on Loch Lomond or hire a canoe at the water front.
  • Very friendly and very helpful. Cracking location, and couldn't recommend the local pub more, great food and super service! Shame we couldn't stay longer but we will do our best to come back, and thanks for the birthday cake!!

  • An unplanned, yet happy, detour through Loch Lomond area - Barbara was very quick to respond to my request and we were booked immediately. She was very helpful with ensuring our late arrival was easy. Very comfy bed and room and breakfast was delicious. Thanks Barbara for a lovely, albeit quick, stopover.

  • Helpful email contact before our stay, and a really friendly welcome on arrival set us up for a wonderful couple of days in Balmaha. Thorsten and Barbara were excellent hosts, and the room was warm and comfortable. The situation of Arrochoile is just superb, with a view of the loch, which is literally just across the road. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely B&B - or to return ourselves in the future. Thank you!

    Helen2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Foina's B&B was very nicely decorated in a modern tasteful style, in an attractive location. Our room was comfortable and clean. Overall we were happy to stay here, although as cyclists, we were a little limited in choice of location for evening meal. It would be fine for anyone with a car.

    Neil2016-09-30T00:00:00Z

Quiet rural position with spectacular views, Rowan , a luxuriously equipped one bedroom cottage with an open plan living room & fully equipped kitchen /dining area. It has a large west-facing window with views across the parkland to Ben Lomond.
  • What a picturesque setting. Fabulous views and a tranquil place to stay. The buildings have been beautifully and sympathetically restored. Ours was very comfortable, warm and well furnished. The bed was lovely to sink into after travelling from Australia and the feather pillows were much appreciated. Great size bathroom with good shower too. We'll certainly be back next time we're visiting the Family!

  • Rowan Cottage (part of Finnich Cottages) provided a delightful 4-night stay in a cosy, clean and quiet environment ideal for that much needed break away from the city. The cottage has fabulous views and our host Marguerite was warm and welcoming and ensured that we had all that we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I cannot recommend this cottage and location highly enough and look forward to returning in the near future. The holiday cottages have been beautifully converted yet still retain an element of that old school charm. A real joy and a rural gem!!!

  • We loved staying at Marguerite's place. The house is very tastefully decorated, and has all the amenities and comfort that one could want to truly feel at home, away from home. The hosts, who live in the large stately home just around the corner, are very gracious and considerate. On our daughter's birthday, when the weather was very sunny (the one day that it was that week), they graciously brought over a parasol to allow us to sit comfortably on the patio. very kind! the location is great for day trips to the surrounding area. we made trips to loch lomond, inchailoch island, stirling, falkirk, loch katrine, balloch and helensburg. highly recommended. wouldn't mind staying here again. it is a bit remote (as are most places in the Trossachs/loch lomond area, so you do need a car).

  • A well-appointed flat in a small village near Loch Lomond - loved the heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom. Had everything we needed and was within a 25 minute drive of the Highland games at Luss. Wish there had been a better grocery store within walking distance but treating ourselves to breakfast at the drymen inn was nice too. Consider hitting the co-op in the next town over on your way into Drymen.

Less touristic than villages at the lake but with nice restaurants, a grocery next door, an ATM .. and the west highland way comes through and its a beautiful walk. • If you love quirky, old, secluded cottages, you'll love it here. We did. We had a wonderful week with cosy nights in front of the fire and days out along the loch, exploring the Trossachs, neighboring villages and Stirling. If you're not fans of hunting though (as we aren't) it would be worth contacting Antje about the use of outbuildings nearby by the gamekeepers... Thank you Antje for responding to us so quickly by email and for being so helpful : )

    Mel2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Antje's place. We didn't know that the house would be that big with two seperate rooms for dining and relaxing. We were lucky with the weather so we spent a lot of time outside: walking, lying in the wonderful garden, cycling and visiting Edinburgh, Stirling, Oban. Antjes house is cosy and we immediately felt at home! The view on the lake is fantastic.

Vielen Dank, Antje! Lg Linda

  • Lovely place! Clean and quiet. Great location and it was only a short drive to the supermarket. Welcoming host with suggestions on things to do. Recommended.

  • Lovely, cosy cottage, all mod cons you could need, in picturesque surroundings and excellent proximity to numerous places of interest. Kathleen is a very warm and welcoming host, couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.

    Kirsty2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Kathleen's lovely cottage for 2 nights. Kathleen is a very nice and helpful lady and we can't recommend this place enough. It's clean and has all the facilities you need to make your stay comfortable. The beds were comfy. The location is peaceful with lovely views. Yet close enough to the lake and local shops by car. Thank you for your hospitality :)

Loch Lomond, by Luss, Scotland, United Kingdom

A rural upper floor apartment with stunning mountain view of the Scottish Highlands. Just 30 minutes from Glasgow and Stirling. A great location to explore Loch Lomond & The Trossachs.
Our apartment is very light, bright and airy and the views from the bedroom and living room make it extra special.
We are located in a quiet leafy lane just outside the village of Croftamie. Within 10 minutes you can be hiking in the Trossachs or cruising on Loch Lomond. The West Highland Way is just minutes away and we are on the National Route 7 cycle path. It is a very peaceful and idyllic cottage to relax and unwind.
  • We stayed 3 nights at the appartment and had a wonderful time. Jenny and Ned live in the appartment downstairs and are very heartly, welcoming people and are happy to help you out with any question. The place is equipped with everything you need. Nearby are multiple walks you can make to enjoy nature, or visit Stirling or Doune castle. Three nights was actually too short, we'd love to come back!

    Dennis & Sascha2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny's house at Drymen was amazing. It was superclean, with two bathrooms, king sized comfy bed and we had our own access. We enjoyed our stay there but wished we had more time there. Jenny was very generous with a fresh loaf of bread and butter and left out some beautiful flowers. Everything imaginable was there except a washing machine but Jenny very kindly did our washing for us as we had been on the road for several days. We highly recommend this place for its access to great places to visit, comfort and cleanliness. We recommend Killin, the Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle, Luss on Loch Lomond and the local Pub, The Clachan Inn. Thank you Jenny and Ned for a fantastic stay.

  • Prior to arriving, our hosts Jenny and Ned went out of there way to make sure we had no problems finding their delightful cottage, which is surrounded by rolling fields and woodland. The provided accommodation consisted of five lovingly furnished and spotlessly clean rooms, a large bedroom, with a king size double bed, made-up with freshly ironed crisp linen, a comfortable lounge, a well equipped kitchen / dining room, and two bathrooms, one ensuite with a shower, the other a bath. The property even had two TV's, a first in our Airbnb experiences. WiFi while not the fastest we've experienced was stable and more than adequate for checking email and surfing the web. At the start of our five day stay our hosts very thoughtfully and kindly stocked the kitchen with a selection of teas, fresh coffee, milk, freshly baked bread, butter, home produced preserves and fruit. Parking was provided off-road just outside the gate of a charming flower filled garden. Jenny was very attentive to our needs and kindly provided us with a wealth of local information and maps of the sights and walks available In The Trossachs. Our five day stay passed too quickly, and as we reluctantly departed, it was with the lasting impression that this property had far exceeded the description and pictures shown in the listing.

  • We had a lovely weekend at Tullycross - the apartment was bigger than expected, extremely clean, great views of the hills and was very peaceful. This was a great location for sightseeing around Loch Lomond. Jenny and Ned were very pleasant and accommodating - we could not fault our stay here. I would definitely come back here and would recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and absorb some idyllic views.

  • We had a fabulous stay at Tullycross cottage. The apartment was just lovely and had everything you could ever imagine you would need, like home from home. Our hosts Jenny & Ned were so very helpful and friendly and made us feel exceptionally welcome. There is so much information on everything in the surrounding area, making planning your day so easy. Just wish we could of stayed longer! I am sure we will be back :0) ...ooh the giant bed was very comfy...just perfect. Can't recommend this place highly enough, it is first class.

  • The check in was really flexible, ( we arrived at 2 in the night ). We were welcomed by tasty marmalade, jam and home made bread! The country side around is beautiful and there is so much to see, and climb. There are many towns nearby for all your shopping and dining needs. The cottage itself was very spacious ( could fit 4 people easy ), there were many maps of the nearby places as well as tourist centered books. Jenny was really friendly and helpful when it came to our questions. All in all a wonderful stay quite a lovely cottage.

The house is located in the center of the town at the main road. It is a clean and comfortable place with a nice garden and big bed. Dawn is a lovely person to talk to, really nice to talk to and helpful with answering questions. Highly recommendable.

  • Brilliant host, and even more brilliant stay at Jinjin's cottage! Everything was as described, and the photos were a truthful representation of the cottage. Jinjin was marvellous in so many ways and the fact that she takes care of all the cleaning and tidying up herself speaks volumes about how much she cares about her cottage. If a break from city life is what one desires for a vacation, there is no better way to do it than at this idyllic cottage.

Definitely we will back again for a longer stay.

Brand new luxury 3 bedroom lodge (1 king room, 1 double room, 1 single room/ sleeps 5 comfortably but possibility of 6 people with a z bed) in front of Loch Lomond. The most stunning location in Scotland! You have Loch Lomond right in front of you and the famous Conic Hill right behind you. Voted on the Samsung Galaxy poll as the 10th most popular location for photographs in the United Kingdom.
This brand new lodge is located at the foot of Conic Hill with beautiful views of the Loch.
We are located right across from the famous pub/restaurant The Oak Tree which serves delicious food all day. Right across from the Marina (water taxi that can take guests to Luss amd other locations) and walking distance from Conic Hill and beautiful beaches. A great little village to hike, walk and be outdoors!
  • Location is brilliant and views. Doesn't sleep 6 people comfortably. We arrived and there was a fold up bed in one of the double rooms and then a very very small single room. We were 3 couples going away so I had to move the z bed to the single room where there was then no room to move at all and no room to close the door. Over priced for what was actually offered size wise. Also not enough seating for 6 people in the living room.
