Romantic cottage for two persons.

Absolutely LOVELY tucked away spot to stay in Iceland during a solo road trip for two nights. Cozy and safe—I had a stunning view of the Northern Lights. Don’t miss walking down the street to the Red House for dinner.

Cosy lakeview cabin 45 minutes from Reykjavik

JasminRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A lakeside dream come true Just about 45 minutes from Reykjavík, this place is a true hidden gem. The cabin is beautifully located by a lake, surrounded by mountains — it honestly felt like our dream getaway. The house is perfectly equipped with everything you might need, even down to candles for cozy evenings. If you’re coming as a group of four, be aware that two guests will need to sleep on the sofa, and space can get a bit tight — but with such a stunning setting and peaceful atmosphere, it didn’t bother us at all. We took walks along the lakeshore, relaxed in the sauna with its breathtaking view of the lake, and even spotted northern lights from the hot tub. It doesn’t get better than this. We would absolutely love to come back someday. Highly recommended!
A tranquil bathroom features a spacious bathtub equipped with a wooden tray holding decorative items. A rocking chair sits nearby, and candles provide soft lighting. The stone wall adds a rustic touch, enhancing the serene atmosphere of the space.

Beautiful self catering cottage

We had a wonderful stay at Margrets place. Good location for the golden circle and walking distance from ‘the Red House’ restaurant - we ate the best lamb we have ever had there! The cottage is located behind the sea surrounded by lovely gardens. The cottage is so cute, we are so pleased we got the chance to stay in a typical Icelandic home. The bathroom is downstairs, the stairs are steep but no problem for me or my mum at all. The bath is the best especially after a long day sightseeing. We would stay here again for sure :)

Really beautiful cabin in a perfect location. Good point to travel around the south from. Clean, very spacious and well laid out. Much bigger than I expected. Really good quality furniture and fittings. Lovely and warm at the end of a busy day exploring. Managed to watch a brilliant show of the northern lights from the decking. Would highly recommend.

Svansstaðir Cabin - A Forest Paradise

TeresaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We stayed at Petur’s cabin during our honeymoon to Iceland. It was perfect and cozy with many thoughtful touches. The lake it sits on is just beautiful and we loved waking up to the view each morning. Petur’s guidebook was very thorough and helpful, and the instructions on finding the cabin were clear and easy to follow. Thank you Petur for sharing your cabin with us, it contributed to a very special trip we will never forget! (:
