Between the 4 decks attached to the cabin, log porch swing, and fire pit area with Adirondack Chairs, you will have no trouble finding a proper place to relax. You will also have access to the detached garage to safely store your gear out of the elements.

Cowboy School House (High Plains Drift Inn)

Taste the 1800s in our western school house. Cowboy bunk-house style sleeping arrangement with 3 bunk beds. Also, an inviting kitchenette facility and spacious shower as well as solar lighting, USB charging ports, and a (modern) propane heater. The property borders the Cumbres and Toltec Railway with a front porch view of the train during train season! Its a short walk to fishing and hiking in the Rio Grande National Forest. This four-season cabin can be especially enjoyable as a cozy retreat once snow flies and can be accessed by snowmobile, XC skis or snowshoes!

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Easy travel to the Great Sand Dunes, hot spring pools, hiking, off roading, skiing and hunting. Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge within 8 miles. Off street parking allows room for recreational vehicle parking as well. This cozy apartment of 500 sq ft is perfect for 2, but can accommodate 4 with the queen bedroom and the futon which makes into a queen size bed. No TV. Monte Vista is a small rural town.

This 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is perfect for 2 adults; but can accommodate additional guests for an additional $20 per person per night. The house has a fenced in yard and is located on 1 acre just a few minutes walk from the national forest. Enjoy the sunrises and sunsets from the cozy enclosed porch. There is plenty of room for ATV parking, and you can go directly to many trails without having to tow or trailer!
