Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

We felt like at home. The house is located in a private property with swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s very clean and very peaceful. Just a clarification about the description : there’s no bathroom in the basement. Then if you come with elderly people or very young kids, it could be annoying. If you like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. We´ll keep a very good memory of our stay in Ducktrap Retreat during the colorful foliage season.

this was the 3rd time our family has stayed,again we had a fantastic time! We chose to return due to the great space, a fabulous indoor pool, great kitchen and an amazing view. Great attention to details, comfortable for large families or groups and peaceful for just 2.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

The minute we walked in we felt at home! Sonya was super responsive and friendly, we got right in with no problem. The location was easy to find, and despite having houses nearby it felt very private. Sonya has everything you can think of. The cabin was clean and warm. Thank you so much, Sonya. We, my son, daughter and I, have said that this was one of our favorites we've stayed at in our forays away from home for work. The interior spaces were thoughtfully decorated which gave it a homey feel. Well done Lindsae!

We really enjoyed our anniversary cabin! Such a beautiful view from the sun porch area seeing the river. Loved everything about the place and hope to come back for our next anniversary 😁 The hosts were great! They came and helped us with everything to know about the cabin. Gave us a basket of grapes, chocolate covered strawberries and lilac jelly. Loved the size of the place, perfect for us. Highly recommend the cabin and the hosts! 10/10!

This house was beautiful! Everything was very clean and the games and kids bean bag chairs were my kids favorite part. We took the kayaks out everyday and it was beautiful scenery. Hosts were very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommend this house!

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future! Jamie's lovely home was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had. She sent us a helpful email the week before we arrived ... something that's never happened before in all of our Airbnb stays. She continued to be both responsive and proactive during our time there, and I knew that if anything went wrong she'd be easy to reach. Her recommendations for local dining were spot-on and we appreciated the guidebooks, hiking poles, and well-stocked kitchen. And the house! Well designed and beautifully situated with views of Mount Desert Narrows (and sunsets too). We were there with some of our young adult children and we all had plenty of space with three bedrooms and three full baths. Conveniently located at the top of the island, we could easily get to all parts of Acadia National Park and neighboring coastal towns. It was a short drive to everything we wanted to do, and we also really appreciated the wooded setting's privacy and peace. Thank you, Jamie! A perfect week.

Beautiful and peaceful location! While off MDI, it was still very easy to access Acadia National Park and was a convenient location overall. Wonderful views out the windows, sliders, decks, etc. The area by the water was lovely as well. As we were staying with our baby, it was so helpful to have some provided baby items—a pack and play, high chair, and a baby gate (though we didn’t us the latter)—in addition to typical items (bed linens, towels, a wide variety of kitchen essentials, etc.) Robard was an excellent host, providing lots of information before the stay and responding promptly during our stay. We couldn’t get a window to lock (user error on our part) and Robard quickly came to check it out. He arrived just as we figured it out, but was very kind about the inconvenience, and chatted with us about the area and clamming by the water.

We felt so at home at Travis’ place. We had a late check in, and I will say he was right when he said it’s tricky to find in the dark! Once we got there and looked around it got easier. Everything was so clean and cozy. We loved having the two bedrooms right next to each other. It made it easy for our young daughter to get us if she needed us at night. The view alone made us feel so at peace that not much could top it. We also appreciated the access to tvs, but not making them stick out in the home. Everywhere we went was between a 30-45 minute drive which we did not mind at all. We actually quite enjoyed it so we weren’t right by all the craziness of some of the tourist towns. I can’t say anything but amazing things about this house. If you’re looking to book and this house ends up on your list.. just book it!! You won’t regret it.

Erica was SO accommodating and helpful. She responded extremely quick anytime we messaged and gave us tips and recommendations. Her home is adorable and we really enjoyed being there. It had everything we needed! Only thing to note is that while her place is 20 minutes from Acadia’s entrance it is a big park so anytime we were going to a hike it did take more like 40 minutes to get to it, just worth a mention! Highly recommend her place!

We stayed at this place for a weekend! Family of 4! Everything was great! Very peaceful surroundings! Quite, private and gorgeous. We enjoyed kayaking, I managed to cut white perch from the ramp, used grill once. Place looks new and welcoming. I wish we had more time to spend at the house. Bar Harbor/Acadia/Sand Beach is less then an hour away, easy access with no traffic. Meghan was very responsive! Our flight was not until 6pm and she allowed for a late check out. Book this place with no doubt, you will not regret. Will comfortably accommodate a family of 5.

This is one of the best AirBnB’s I’ve ever stayed in. The cottage was perfectly cozy and thoughtfully appointed. Christy was proactive in reaching out and also very responsive and helpful. If you are comparing this location to something else in Bangor or the surrounding area stop your search and book this place. You will not regret it. 10/10.

Everything was clean and just what I expected from the listing. It was a great location in relation to Acadia National Park. We enjoyed staying in more secluded spot, but we could easily drive into the busier Bar Harbor area. I highly recommend staying at Hannah’s place!

This camp was everything we wanted! Warm and inviting..clean and well stocked. We loved how private and peaceful the outside area was. We will definitely stay here again!

This house/cabin was incredible! The pictures don't do it justice!! The view of the lake is gorgeous from the house and you can see it from all the common living areas. It is all wood inside so it feels like you are in a large cabin! Everything was super clean and felt very new. There was plenty of room to spread out but also very warm and cozy at the same time. It was very peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing. The wi-fi worked well and there were good instructions left to connect to it. The kitchen was great and the bathroom was huge. It was nice to be able to do laundry while staying there, and everything felt very fresh and clean. Karen was a very responsive host, which was much appreciated! Everything was set up for convenience if you needed to find something. It was convenient to go to Hannaford's in Lincoln on the way there, too. We are definitely looking forward to coming back during the summer time when we can use the lake! This is a beautiful place to stay.
